Had the tasting menu. Loved
Had the tasting menu. Loved the food except for the fish which was overcooked. Hated the music which was a monotonous pounding. Since this is an Italian restaurant, how about a little Italian music like Puccini?

Good dine-L.A. Menu
Always enjoyed at Scarpetta. I just wish their main entrees has bigger portions & that they'll have kid's menu.

We came here for the DineLA menu but added a few dishes to our meal. Overall the food was good however, the overall quality and taste of the food at Scarpetta in Miami was better. Mary's Chicken here in LA was drenched in a sauce that overwhelmed the dish, and was very different from the Mary's Chicken that I experienced before. The chicken and ribeye were dry as well. The summer vegetable soup with tuna tartare was absolutely incredible, and the spaghetti was delicious.

I would be more imaginitive with my title, but honestly the octopus was great. It was so tender! It was super busy that night but we had reservations and were seated right away. However the service was slow and we were not attended by a waiter as much as you would expect for this caliber of dining. Our waiter did acknowledge and apologise on his own for the unintended slight. Of course the spaghetti was a must, and they do have an awesome bread basket. I had a vanilla panna cotta for dessert and it was so yummy! I wish I had filled up entirely on carbs!

Good food, but service need to work
Our reservation was for 8:15 pm and we got seated it was almost 9 pm. We waited for over 35 minutes and there was never any apology from the hostess. She even pretended that someone else had talked and informed us about the wait. When we were ready to order, we were told that they were out of the scallops on the Dine LA menu. It was unacceptable since It was only the 2nd day of Dine LA and they are out of an item. We would assume a restaurant of this caliber to be well stocked and ready to serve the crowd that would come and order from the special menu. On a better note, the busboy is very nice deserves special recognition for bringing us a separate vegetarian bread basket after we had mentioned that one of us do not eat pork.

We had the opportunity to enjoy this restaurant during the dineLA experience. Their food from appetizers to desserts were amazingly delicious. My favorite part was their entree, I had the Veal & Bone Marrow Agnolotti. The portion was perfect, flavorful, mouthwatering and buttery. The dessert was the Vanilla Panna Cotta with a berrysorbet; love the contrast between the sweetness of the panna cotta w/ the tartness of the sorbet (perfect pair).
Notice that they have a very elegant bar area, private dining room, and also a wall of glass windows where you can see the kitchen from the outside. There were also seatings in the kitchen area; seems like a great opportunity to enjoy the chef experience too.

enjoyed it very much
my niece and I dined on the dineLA menu. The bread basket had 4 different types of bread, including stromboli, and it was all fresh. We had the grilled peach & ricotta salata salad, roasted sea scallops, veal & bone marrow agnolotti, grilled octopus, we split a plate of the wonderful spaghetti whose noodles were oh so perfect and then vanilla panna cotta with cherries and olive oil cake for dessert. I also had the Reserva wine flight which was spot on. The service was perfect even if the over the shoulder service was a bit disconcerting at first. We were seated at a booth and to serve us from the front of the table was much too far to reach so they served over our shoulders from the back of the banquet. Will definitely go back.

An LA Classic
You know everyone will enjoy the food, and that's the basis. Service is excellent, attentive and specific. Italians will enjoy, as the menu has the kind of twists to food that someone who remembers their infallible Italian grandmother's dishes will appreciate.
And spring for a side of the pasta. It's what they are known for, they do very well, and you won't regret.

Scarpetta Exceeds Expectations
I had high hopes for my dining experience at Scarpetta and it was everything I expected and much more. I was delighted by the food, the service, the knowledgeable staff, and we were lucky enough to be there on a Thursday night in the summer when live music is present. Fabulous!

Came on a Friday to enjoy a date night. Located in a the beautiful Montage Hotel. Everyone was so nice. We were greeted by the Dir of F&B in the lobby and escorted us, could of just pointed, but no he walked us. Service was spot on. Kyle took care of us. We did some DineLA items and some regular items. Love most all. Fav was Octopus, Turbot, and Kale Ravioli. Italian Manager made us feel at home, he came by to check on us. We are no one special but it made us feel that way. Desserts were great olive cake and gluten free dessert were our favorites. Before we left we decided to have a cocktail. It turned in to 4 (thanks to Über for the lift). Met another great couple and time flew by. We want to go back soon. What an experience.

This place was very nice and in a great location. Dinner was good the portions of food we got was satisfying. The dessert was the highlight of the night!
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Outstanding food and service, incredible ambience on the outdoor patio and it adds up to an extraordinary dining experience. The food is fantastic, from the appetizers to the pastas to the meat and fish. The service is top notch. The restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommended.

This was our first time dining at one of Scott's (yes first name basis) Restaurants. From the moment we were sat everything was amazing. Mo was an excellent server that explained the menu in depth and made excellent recommendations. The yellowtail and polenta were a great way to start followed by the amazing spaghetti and kale with ricotta ravioli was out of this world! I cant wait be back in LA to try the rest of the menu, Scott is amazing!

A Gem - What Dining Out Should Be!
LOVED everything I ate except for their Olive Cake desser (too sweet and just not yummy).
The octupus was suberbly cooked, their peach salad was exectuted perfectly and their bread platter - could not stop eating!
Now the pastas - Scott does not disappoint, a must if you want outstanding Italian food. Great wine selection and recommendations.

Delish but service is so-so
Ambiance and Food were amazing. Good for a special occasion as it's pretty pricey. Service needs a kick in the pants, disappointed with our server, not the friendliest and did nothing to earn a tip...we blew it off and had a great time for my Bday dinner but for what you're paying for you'd think the service would be top notch. Desserts were absolutely amazing!!!!!
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Not as good as last time, but great
Second time in and perfect again. Started with the braised short ribs - falls apart and very flavorful and went with the spaghetti for dinner. Service was awesome. All around a great find and no food complaints in 2 visits. Only thing I really don't like is the music. Its thumping club music that doesn't fit in with the atmosphere. Every so often they pepper in some classical, which makes it even more strange.
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
A great night out
We chose Scarpetta because of Chef Scott Conant; we had been wanting to try one of his restaurants. All of our food and drinks were outstanding -- appetizers, pasta, and desserts. The seasonal mushrooms were a particular favorite, as was the goat cheese chiffon for dessert. Pasta, of course, was perfect. The vibe of the restaurant was energetic and comfortable. The only thing that disturbed the ambiance was the table behind us, who were documenting every moment of their meal with flash photos. Thankfully, we were near the end of our meal when the flashbulbs started. Our waiter was also terrific! Service overall was really great. We had a wonderful dining experience and can't wait to go back.
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
The restaurant is beautiful,
The restaurant is beautiful, naturally lit while still elegant, and so inviting. The hostesses and servers were all incredibly friendly and the food was SO GOOD. We ordered the scallop appetizer, spaghetti, and the bone marrow and veal agnolotti. Everything was delicious and completely worth the price. Not to mention the bread basket and spreads which made the meal that much better. I am definitely planning on going back to Scarpetta in the near future!
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a great dinner. Service was good, food was good, it was just a great dinner. Only negative was the fact that the pasta machine was down so they were limited in the variety of pastas they could offer, but not a huge deal.
8/16/2013 5:00:00 PM
Excellent food, great service
Excellent food, great service and ambience. Terrific Manager in Sandro.
8/22/2013 5:00:00 PM
Lamb angolotti is one of the
Lamb angolotti is one of the best things I've ever eaten.
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Exquisite in every way
Beautiful setting, attentive and welcoming staff, and delectable food.
You won't notice the stars because you will be enraptured by the food.
Defy logic and accept that the spaghetti simply is the best.
Stromboli bread deserves some sort of award.
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was our second time having dinner here and we enjoyed it more the second visit. The service was much better, the Octopus appetizer was amazing as was the Spaghetti. You must try the Budino and Panna Cotta for dessert.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
Simply Excellent Food
Second time dining here, and Scarpetta did not disappoint.
Food: excellent handmade pasta, quality you can taste! Spaghetti is still the best! Black cod was excellent. All appetizers we got were of the freshest ingredients: truffle polenta, burrata and short ribs were heavenly. Desserts were decadent:caramel budino delish!
Service: unpretentious, efficient and gracious.
Ambience: clean, modern and sleek. Not truly remarkable but nice to look out at the courtyard on a pleasant summer evening. Not very romantic but still far enough away from other diners to have private conversation.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a great birthday dinner at the counter on a slow night - Monday's the head chef is gone and it was a holiday weekend, so the rush was over. It meant some of the kitchen staff paid us close attention, so that was nice. Great space, interesting kitchen experience - different than others because much larger/more spacious and stations. And of course delicious food!
9/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
A great time
We went with a blackboard eats deal and had a pre-fix menu with wine pairings. The food from beginning to end was great. The wine pairings were fantastic and a really lovely time. The staff was friendly attentive and super nice to us the whole time. A fantastic dinner!
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food made even better by service!
Scarpetta's is an excellent restaurant. The food is top tier epicurean, the fabulous wine list is sectioned by regions within the countries, the service from the moment we stepped through the door was warm & courteous. We opted for a patio table & thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful evening. Scarpetta's is the real star at this end of Beverly Hills' famed "restaurant row". I would highly recommend the lavender honey glazed duck!
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Eat in the kitchen!
Took my daughter and her boyfriend to Scarpetta for her birthday and sat at the chef's counter, which is actually IN the kitchen. First of all, the kitchen is gorgeous - all white granite, white glass front cabinets, glass door refrigerator that's spotless and incredibly well organized. If you're into food and cooking, as we are, it's a very cool experience. The food is delicious and beautifully prepared. We will definitely go back.
9/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great $8 Happy Hour!
They have a great Happy Hour that lasts until 8pm! And everything is $8 at the most (wine and beer is even cheaper!). The food was amazing on the Happy Hour menu, especially the burratta cheese dish and the mussels! Very good and we will be back for happy hour soon!
9/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
too bad they scrimped on the wine
We went here for a special menu from a foodie web site. The food was absolutely outstanding--a salad of seasonal ingredients delicately flavored with fresh herbs, mushroom pasta, an amazing porkchop with polenta--and the service matched. The special menu came with 3 wines "chosen by the sommalier". What a disappointment that they chose three entirely uninteresting wines.

Great food, beautiful restaurant
Loved the look and feel of the restaurant. Food as amazing, as expected. We had to try the spaghetti and see what the craze was about. After seeing Chef Scott Conant on Chopped always giving grief to anyone who doesn't cook pasta perfectly, we wanted to see how he cooked his. We were not disappointed. Perfect al dente. A little pricey to be a regular spot for us to go to but, definitely a place we will be going back to.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
It's a very expensive restaurant,
It's a very expensive restaurant, but very special too. This was our first time at Scarpetta and hopefully we will be back. We were using an offer received through Blackboard Eats for a prixe fixe dinner for $60 per person. I know that is not cheap, but it was actually a good deal. We got a starter (mine was a superb tuna tartare), a pasta course (heavenly), a main course (mine was a perfectly cooked snapper and my wife's was a beyond wonderful pork chop) followed by dessert. In addition, a half-glass of the correct wine was included with each course, except dessert. Also, I must also mention the basket of a variety of fresh baked breads, of which we asked for a second basket. It was a deal because the regular menu was much more.
9/13/2013 5:00:00 PM
My husband & I wanted to celebrate our 5 year anniversary with a great dinner. We chose Scarpetta because it has never let us down. Our anniversary night included. We had a great meal. The Spaghetti is the best and we keep going back for it. Other great items are the Scallops, Braised Short Rib Risotto, Mushroom Polenta and Tuna Crudo. And of course their desserts!!! Yummy.
And of course Chef Vargas and his team are exceptional. We cant wait to go back again.
We highly recommend this restaurant. Note: we recommend sitting at Chef's Counter and you will have no experience like it.
9/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
I really wanted to love this restaurant BUT even though the food was very good, the service was not. Wait person was not as attentive as she should have been and we waited WAY TOO LONG inbetween our appetizers and main courses, almost an hour. IMO, the restaurant is not managed as well as it should be. Our water and wine glasses were never kept filled and we had to ask for dessert menus after waiting 30 minutes to have our dinner plates cleared from our table. I had asked that a dessert be sent to our table with a candle in it for someone in our party and that never happened, even though I was told it would. For what the dinner cost, there are other places in Los Angeles with great food and better service. It is such a shame, really......
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
everything was great and loved
everything was great and loved all the dish except Duck main entree... little undercooked and sweet.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
The starter of shortribs with vegetable farro was excellent - flavorful and toothsome. The stracci as the main dish however was veryh disappointing. The sauce was jarring - over salted and surprisingly containing red pepper flakes (not warned in the menu description as spicy) and heavy handed with the saffron. The pasta was large squares that made up most of the dish. The lobster consisted of 2 tiny pieces and 1 one inch piece, 2 very tiny cauliflower florets and 1 cherry tomato, and three fried capers made up that dish. Overpriced for the dish which left a lot to be desired.
Desserts were very heavy. At least one light dessert would have been nice - perhaps a panna cotta
10/9/2013 5:00:00 PM
Had a great time! Scarpetta is a very classy place with great food, service, and ambiance.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was good. Service was fair. The environment was nice. Overall a good restaurant. Oh and yes their spaghetti was really good!
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
I always have a wonderful time when I visit Scarpetta. The scene is great. The service friendly and efficient. Food never disappoints.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
I have heard nothing but great things about this place so when I was in town for business hitting this place up was on my to-do list. I loved the atmosphere and my server Mo was awesome! Chef Conant was in town and was socializing with the tables which was great to see! The carmel budino is literally to die for!
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great location-great food - I've been to NYC, Toronto and now LA - the food Tastes the same. If you are looking for romantic or fun you must try scarpetta. Cocktails are worth the price!!
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
A Beverly Hills gem
Scarpetta and I go back to the month Scott Conant opened his first shop in Manhattan's meatpacking district. Prosecco to start. I always order both the creamy polenta and the beef short ribs as an app. I mix 'em together and the waiter spoons truffled mushrooms over the top. This is comfort food. My main was a tagliatelle with shaved truffles. Excellent. Service was prompt and efficient.
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
Wonderful Italian food and great service at this Montage Hotel restaurant. The fish entrees we ordered were extremely well prepared. The dessert menu was awesome.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
The location is perfect. The bread basket is worth the calories! The stomboli is out of this world!
Had the grilled octopus, very tender and flavorful. The homemade pastas are perfectly cooked.
The coconut panne cotta was amazing! So worth the traffic to get here! The wait staff was friendly and very helpful in helping us decide what to order.
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
I can only say WOW
Scarpetta is a total winner! Food and service was the best.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Everything was absolutely great. My only criticism is that I wish the tables were covered with cloths. Just my personal preference.
11/20/2013 4:00:00 PM
We had the scallops followed by the spaghetti. Absolute perfection!!!!
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
On a business trip with enough time to feed my foodie side. Scarpetta was a target and with the high expectations I entered with, it far exceeded them. The Scallops were outstanding and the Tagliatelle with the duck...oh my! Absolutely one of my favorite meals ever. Wines by the glass had good options as well as an extensive bottle selection.
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet. The bulk of the food was set out in the kitchen. The desserts and cheeses were in the lounge area. I thought it was a great setup. The food was delicious and the meat was perfectly seasoned. It did not need the accompanying sauces and gravy which also tasted wonderful on their own.
CONS - the side dishes were room temperature and the crab claws were water logged. The hostess also seated a group that had a woman in a wheelchair right along the narrow path to the buffet. Patrons and waiters kept running into the handles on her wheelchair. I pulled a server aside and suggested they tie a white napkin on the handle so people would see it (this worked well).
11/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great place for vegetarians even though there are only a few options on the menu. I ordered the polenta with truffle mushrooms -- this was amazing! I would go back just for that. I also ordered the freshly made spinach ravioli -- this was very good as well. Loved this place and recommend it!
