The food was delicious, well prepared, and beautifully presented. Our waiter (Jordan) was friendly, provided great service without being chokingly attentive and was knowledgeable about each dish and the wine list. We had a gift certificate that paid a large portion of our bill. If we would have had to pay the whole bill, I would have graded it as slightly overpriced but not insulting, and the price was offset by the great service and delicious food. We left well fed, well sated, and well satisfied.

Fine Dining in Central West End
It is always a pleasant experience to dine at the Brasserie. A totally relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff is ready to present a unique
menu and serve tasty food. Always done with a touch of class.

But a bit noisy. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

The name says it all: This is a quality Brasserie, worthy of the Niche name. All our French favorites were on the menu (steak and fries, mussels and fries, braised beef, coq au vin, escargots). The wine list was also incredible. Thanks for a great experience!

On par with Bouchon
My wife and I came here for our wedding anniversary. Excellent food. Outstanding service. This place is a must when in St. Louis. I enjoyed my food and experience greatly. I had braised beef and my wife had the bistro steak. Flavors and preperation were excellent. On par with Bouchon in Yountville, Ca. We will definitely be back.

She's been dieing to eat here
I took my fiance here the day that I proposed and she loved it. The food was amazing, I had trout with radishes, and snap peas, and she had roasted chicken and both dishes were amazing, great romantic spot, it's in a vibrant part of town, you'll love to eat here.

Food was good, Service was a bit slow. That said, if you haven't been, I would certainly put on your list to try. Reasonably priced for good food.

Went for our Anniversary and were not disappointed. Had been there before for breakfast but this was the first time for dinner. My wife had the Chicken and thought it much better than the great Chicken at Yia Yia's. I had the Boulliabaise and was also pleased. Service was great.

Great dinner with a friend!
I took my friend here for her birthday and we had a wonderful evening! The food was outstanding, the dessert delicious, and the drinks so good! Service was quick and friendly. I cannot wait to try out brunch!

That Gerard Craft receives are best explained at his restaurants. We now know that in each you find consistency in both food and service that's not easily duplicated by his peers. The food was exceptional and the service was crisp and professional. Brassiere transports you for the evening, it was just wonderful. The lesson we learned...dine at his establishments and you won't walk away unhappy, ever!
8/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
The people in the back really know what they're doing at this place. Kudos to them. Among the best I've ever had in STL.

Favorite place in St Louis
My wife and I always enjoy Brasserie by Niche. They have captured that true Parisian cafe scene. Totally charming, unbelievably good food and excellent service. It is a treat for us to enjoy a meal at Brasserie.

Goat Cheese Tart and Roasted
Goat Cheese Tart and Roasted Chicken were phenomenal.
8/21/2013 5:00:00 PM
We eat at Brasserie pretty frequently and note every time its consistency. In quality for price, in service, and in overall experience.

Great date night restaurant.
My wife and I love to have a date night now and then when the only purpose is to find a restaurant that we have not tried yet. Brasserie was our pick this time and was well worth it. The atmosphere was great; not too formal, but not too casual. A perfect, romantic date night feel. The food was outstanding. The goat cheese tart was wonderful as were the braised beef and garlic sausage. The prices were comiserate with the quality. Check it out, its worth your time.

I have ALWAYS enjoyed my meal and drinks at Brasserie. The service is great and the food is delicious. I have been a handful of times and will continue to keep going.

Beefsteak is not an heirloom tomato
The braised beef was excellent, but the heirloom tomato salad that I had first was ok until I ate the few pieces of heirloom on top and found the rest to be beefsteak tomato, verifiable by sight and taste!

from an out of town visitor
The level of noise inside was even more than "energetic." We ere able to eat outside which allowed us to enjoy the evening. Our rating would not have been so good if we were inside.
9/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Overall, very good.
I'm a vegetarian and the server offered an off-menu mushroom-over-toast meal. This was quite good, but perhaps a little salty for me. The fries were delicious! Everybody else seemed to be pleased with their meals. One of my company is older and wanted water right from the tap (not cold) and they were very good about remembering this throughout the evening.
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Lovely evening with delightful company, good food and attentive service.

We ate at Brasserie by Niche for the first time and loved it! The food and service were excellent! We enjoyed a great bottle of wine with dinner too. Highly recommend the shrimp & squid appetizer!

We had a great meal and particularl
We had a great meal and particularly liked the limited menu. Even with the limited offerings, it was hard to choose. We opted to eat inside rather than out to enjoy the dark, more romantic atmosphere. Our only complaint comes from the waiter's attitude. Because we had tickets for a concert we were dining early and decided not to order a bottle of wine which is our custom. We chose to order drinks instead. The waiter seemed to be put off by our not choosing a bottle of wine thus adding to our tab. He was rather curt after that. We cannot complain, however, about the timeliness and quality of the food.

worth a try and more
Took my daughter to Brasserie by Niche on a Saturday night. It's located in a great area, the Central West End of StL. Since parking is hard to find, the valet parking was very convenient and reasonable. Our server was friendly, helpful with menu selection and efficient. The warm rolls served shortly after your water glass is filled are delicious. Our salads and main dishes were excellent and cooked perfectly.
Brasserie is not a highbrow. They make you feel comfortable and relaxed. It was not quite the night we were there, in fact, a table of about eight young women sitting near us were fairly loud. They however, did not ruin an otherwise enjoyable dinner. They were having fun. We highly recommend eating here.

2nd visit, awkward service
Didn't want us to sit outside even though we had checked weather radar...drinks took 4ever- 15 minutes between V&T and G&T brought to table; Served @ 1 point suggested other woman dining w/us taste my wine 2 c if she liked it. We had left message via OPENTABLE that we were bringing client & wife -Why do they still ask(@ at any fine dining restaurant) if we want separate checks? TACKY Server was nice enough but flaky. Started called/referring to us by the first names she heard us calling each other. Screens s/b installed 2 separate diners from valet service/curb OR make aisle way/path along curb 4 many pedestrians & dogs to go around instead of through tables, often bumping chairs, handbags, avoid barking/biting etc. Food good, oysters amzing!

Wonderful little Brasserie
The meal was wonderful. Went there to celebrate a friend's b-day and it was a perfect dining experience. The roasted chicken was fantastic. CWE residents are very lucky to have such a neighborhood gem.

We visited Brasserie for the first time to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed! Everything from our service to the food was outstanding! The environment was wonderful and reminded us both of restaurants we visited in France for our honeymoon. Can't wait to head back!

My fiancé and I enjoyed every bite. At most restaurants I don't really order an appetizer or dessert because they're never very good. But at brasserie it is a must. Every they do is excellent. The escargot is great and so is the onion soup. I love their braised beef for the entrée, their steak is good, and so is their bouillabaisse. For dessert their rhubarb tart is great early in the summer, and I typically hate rhubarb but this was superb. And in the fall their pecan tart is delicious as well. And I usually hate pecans as well. I suppose the chef there just does things right so everything, even ingredients you would typically not enjoy are great as well.

We had eaten here once before when a friend took us for an anniversary meal. My wife and I run our own business and have very little time to get out like this, so when we DID have the opportunity to have a special night we chose The Brasserie by Niche as our special place. It is a very interesting place in a great section of the city and has great ambiance. The food is excellent and our server really impressed us with her knowledge about the menu. Service was excellent, food was great, and it did indeed make for a special night out. Be sure and try the lardons.

In the last month, I have had the pleasure of dining at Brassiere three times... each time I walked away raving about the food, the service the overall experience. My menu selections included trout, mussels, beef filet. Desserts were a wonderful finish. Can't wait to return

I eat at Brasserie a fair
I eat at Brasserie a fair amount; I think it's great food, I like the ambiance, and they mix good drinks. My recent experience deserves mention, though. Because of my and my date's work schedules, we made a late reservation for 9pm on a weeknight. As we got there, the restaurant was already clearing out, and by the time we were leaving we had been the last diners there for a solid twenty minutes. Even so, the food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and we never felt rushed. It's a great restaurant with a great staff.

I have never been successful at cooking oyster mushrooms, so when I saw them on the menu at Atlas, I decided to order the quenelles with oyster mushrooms. They were fantastic, and I asked the waitress how they were prepared. She said she'd ask the chef, and, in a few minutes, she came back with detailed instructions on two ways to cook them: roasting or sauteing. She waited patiently while I wrote the instructions down. I ordered an Alsatian wine, simply because I have Alsatian ancestors. It was excellent. I couldn't remember the name, so the waitress brought me the wine list and again waited while I copied the name of the wine (Domain Ehrhart). The food was great, and the waitress made the evening a most pleasant dining experience.

Warm and Cozy
A true bistro, comforting on a cold and windy night. Great food and service. Enjoy edit he French onion soup and tartare. Beet salad was superb. Get the steak and frittes, trout, or mussels. Good desserts also.

Definition of a Brasserie
This brasserie is precisely what I expect. Informal atmosphere, an unpretentious menu, well prepared food and a welcoming place on a cold St.Louis evening. Well done, Gerard!

Great French Bistro
Went here with my in-laws and wife before a concert. The décor and ambiance is very much what I'd expect to see on the streets of Paris. The menu is not very extensive, but that is good so they can focus on mastering a few things and not just throwing out a bunch of different items. My father in law and I had the steak frites which was perfect. The steak was very flavorful and tender and the frites were perfect. My wife had the roasted chicken and the mother in law had the trout. I normally despise trout, but this trout was flavorful, moist and very delicious.

Everything about our dinner was perfect... the food was amazing and we were so impressed with the attentive service. This place is a great mix of fine dining in a casual atmosphere. We'll be back soon to explore more of the menu.

I eat out a lot, for work and pleasure. This is my favorite place in all of STL. I have a french background, and these dishes feel like a warm blanket to me. They are not uptight or stuffy, just nice professional people serving amazing Country French food.

Wonderful, Per Ussual
My husband and two other guests had a wonderful experience at Brasserie. We eat here often and are never disappointed. The food is always great, the service is warm and attentive, and the scene is so Euro-Chic. We will be back soon!
12/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
We started with a glass of cremant and oysters and skipped the salad course for seafood entrees. The quenelles were tasty; I would get them again. My wife enjoyed the moules but was a bit thrown off by the creme fraiche mixed in. Is this a trend in St. Louis. There was a nice white Bordeaux by the bottle.
The floating island was declared superb by my wife, and I was pleasantly surprised that the chocolate mousse was indeed very chocolatey, tasting darker than its medium color would suggest. We did not order coffee, but it sure smelled good.
Next time I would try the vin du maison.
The decor was very nice, invoking a spacious bistro, and I would love to be sitting inside looking out through the big wall of glass as snow falls outside!

A CHRISMAS PRESENT POSTSCRIPT
Having attended the Sunday Christmas Concert at the STL Cathedral we were hungry and thirsty and it was quite early (4:30) So we searched on line for nearby spots. When we arrived we discovered they served from five and sat down at the bar where my companion selected a hand crafted Cosmo (great) and I studied the wine list. We settled on a Medic and ordered a cheese plate. The Bartender was helpful and soon it was time to be seated. We had the place to ourselves and ordered the braised beef followed by a chocolate raspberry desert In short all the staff were helpful and knowledgeable and when we departed the house was already filling up and the valet was busy parking newly arrived guests A great ending to a cold December eve.
