We were very happy with our meal at Sarabeth's. I have visited NYC five times, and have made a trip to Sarabeth's each time, and have never been disappointed. This was my first time eating there with my three children, and although it's not a restaurant that is specifically aimed at kids (for example, they do not have a separate kids' menu) they were certainly welcoming to the kids, and our server was very attentive and kind to them; we were never made to feel like we should not have brought the kids to the restaurant. Also, many of the appetizers were appropriate for the children to eat as meals. I will definitely go back for a 6th time the next time I am in NYC--the restaurant is quaint, the food is good, and it's reasonably priced.

Enjoyed the open atmosphere
Enjoyed the open atmosphere which was nicely lit. Service was extremely good, our server was friendly with a big smile. My wife enjoyed the baby red & gold beets for her appetizer & loved the scallops. I thought the wild mushroom risotto was excellent, very tasty, while the shell steak was just average. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.

Hi, met a friend for a "catch up" breakfast on a Sunday morning. By 9:00 a.m. the place was hopping! You need open table for this location! Yummy breakfast food but if you like a decent cup of coffee better have your coffee at home before or at a local coffee joint afterwards. The food is really just okay (toast not really hot, quality of breads so-so, eggs okay, etc.), but the service is absolutely outstanding. Nice room, nice vibe. Saw families with kids happily eating away.

The food is always wonderful
The food is always wonderful at Sarabeth's. I went with a friend for breakfast and we shared the Goldie Lox and lemon ricotta pancakes. It's been a while since I cleaned my plate, but I had no trouble doing so that morning. The server was pleasant and attentive without being obtrusive and was patient with us when we needed a minute to narrow our decisions. Overall, it was a lovely morning. I noticed a fairly long line to be seated already at 9 AM. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you're planning to eat here.

We went to Sarabeth's on the Upper East Side for Easter Dinner. It was delicious. The sweet potato puree was the best! The restaurant was clean, our service was wonderful, and the food great. When we visit our daughter, we will definitely go back to Sarabeth's!!! We highly recommend it.

Great pre-theatre dining for 92StY
A great place for dinner before a show at the 92nd Street Y. Always good service and good food in a very attractive dining area with high ceilings and very tasteful decor. The fresh breads served as you first sit down are a treat, as well as the delicious, freshly made pastries for desert. Entres are prepared exactly as requested, presented with a flare, and always include two specials as well as a fixed price that includes appetizer, entre and desert for those able to handle the very ample portions.

Stands the Test of Time
This is my favorite Sarabeth's and it is the original one. I have loved it for years, like most people, for those spectacular omelets and four flower juice. But now we love it for dinner as well. A warm and cozy restaurant with absolutely delicious food. A varied menu, excellent wait staff and wonderful management. In the evening it feels more adult--brunch is packed with families--and I appreciate the relative quiet (nearly impossibly in New York) and fine food. The seafood Cobb Salad is a favorite, but the vegetable burger is not to be missed. We will return frequently.

Food was very good, and we
Food was very good, and we had a lovely waitress (unfortunately, I didn't get her name.) It got a little noisy when the crowd came in, and the service was a tad slow----had to fine the server to get the check.
Overall, very nice--especially in a neighborhood where there is a dearth of good eating!

Wonderful Pumpkin Waffles
While visiting NYC, my mother and I decided to try Sarabeth's brunch based on several recommendations. I was so glad I'd made reservations with Open Table b/c the restaurant was packed at 8:30 Sunday morning. Absolutely fantastic food and friendly service! We never felt rushed even though it was crowded! I loved my pumpkin waffles and Mother's omelet was amazingly fluffy. What a great dining experience!

Having been many times for breakfast and brunch, this was the first time for Dinner. It was delicious. Had their lobster and it was prepared very well (steamed). This location is a neighborhood gem, of course for brunch, but also for dinner!

Brunch with friends
Out of town friends staying on the UES wanted to meet for brunch on a Sunday. We chose Sarabeth's. It was close and we had read good things about it. It lived up to its reputation. Sarabeth's East has a somewhat unique menu with nice fresh ingredients. We were in the upper loft area and it seemed quieter than the downstairs area. We had a lovely brunch with good food & a noise level that did not rule out having a conversation in a normal voice. I can recommend this restaurant for those looking for a similar experience.

My wife and I have heard really good things about Sarabeths so we decided to try it ourselves for brunch. It did not disappoint. Had a very hearty meal and the prices were reasonable. Ended up making reservations about a week in advance, because when we tried to make them on Friday they were already booked for the coming weekend. It wasn't super busy when we came the next weekend, so not sure if that is typical or not. My only complaint really was that the coffee (which they seem to be rather proud of) was pretty weak. Am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on that, since the food was so tasty.

A great place for brunch!
"I love the comfortable but refined atmosphere. The chicken sausage was delicious and the eggs benedict were also very good. It's a great sign when we're tasting from each other's plates.

Brunch here is a wonderful
Brunch here is a wonderful experience. The coffee is delicious and always freshly brewed and the assortment of breakfast pastries is plentiful. I recommend any of the omelettes as well as the club sandwich if you are more in the mood for lunch!

Birthday Dinner With Family
Went this past Sunday with family to celebrate my son's birthday. We were a party of six. This was our second time to this restaurant and would come back again. Everyone enjoyed what they ate. You definitely notice the freshness of the food and clean and bright flavors. I had a duck breast that was served with haricot vert and scallion pancakes. The dish was good but not great as I found the pancakes to be rather boring. They were exactly what the name inplied but I thought they could have had more zip or been served with a topping to enhance the flavor. One other slight negative was that the chocolate cake was a bit dry and too dense.

Remembering My Best Friend
Friends assembled to remember our friend whose favorites were: chicken pot pie & crab cakes. We toasted her memory with mimosas and a great lunch. We laughed and shared anecdotes about her beautiful spirit. It was a beautiful tribute to her in a lovely restaurant.

This was a great lunch, we went a party of 5 and had really great food. One of our friends who likes to eat really quality food said the basra with lobster was one of the best pastas he had ever taste.
We loved the wine and the hamburgers and the best lemon pie ever!

Sarabeth's light-filled room
Having breakfast at Sarabeth's was outstanding. The room is so very cheerful and it seemed to be filled with neighbors enjoying the pleasant atmosphere as well as guests in the Hotel Wales. In a way it was un-Manhattan it was so sunny and cheerful. (As opposed to sophisticated and smart)

Fab Old Style Brunch and Lunch
This is a gem that you can't possible get into on weekends UNLESS you reserve using OPEN TABLE! Food is awesome, fresh and like eating in your grandmother's kitchen! That is if your greandmother was a great cook, servicing fresh made jams, jellies and breads along with every style omlet you can imagine

Sarabeth's East-Uptown Girl Fav
I had a hard time chosing just one menu item for brunch since everything on the menu sounds appealing. I ended up with the lemon ricotta pancakes, my husband with the green and white eggs and my daughter with the Challah bread French toast. Noone was disappointed and the serving sizes allowed us to taste each others breakfast. We had a very attentive server in spite of the constant influx of people. My coffee cup was never cold nor empty. The atmosphere is upbeat and yet cozy at the same time. Sarabeth's East is this Uptown girl's Fav!

I had eggs benedict, pancakes, and freanch toast. Everything was so great. I love eggs benedict especially.

Perfect Brunch Spot
A friend recommended Sarabeth's, so we decided to go there for brunch. It was fantastic! My cappuccino was delicious, and the black currant scones (served with most meals!) complimented my frittata perfectly. I will absolutely return.
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our group of three loved the food and the ambiance. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and I loved that each dish on the menu included the flexibility of substitutions. The service was very attentive and friendly. We had a great dinner.

Excellent NYC Brunch Place
Very UES decor, extremely effective use of space and a very open, spacious feel. The food is typical NYC brunch food ( your omelettes, your eggs benny, your smoked salmon benny), but it's all done well, and the preserves are a highlight. The menu is not that creative, and you have to order a lot of the meats as separate sides, but the quality is impeccable and the prices are reasonable. Best of all, immediately when you sit, the waitstaff approaches, carafe in hand, to take your coffee order, and our cups were never empty throughout the entire meal. A solid breakfast choice, and a great standby in the neighborhood.

Lovely place for lunch
The food was good and delicious. And the waitress and waiter were very kind and warm including the casher.
My wife said she would be there again and again whenever we visit Manhattan.

Still so ono!
I visited Sarabeth's back in 2004 on my very first visit to NYC. We were two girls from Hawaii exploring the big city. We really appreciated the good food and ambience back then.
How wonderful it was to return to NYC in 2013 to find that it is still a great place to eat and enjoy conversation with friends. The lemon ricotta pancakes were soooo ono!!! The service was great, too.
My only disappointment was that they did not have their Blood Orange Marmalade. But it's all good... Now I have another reason to go back and visit!

Love Sarabeth's! Hadn't been to this location before but it is adorable. Food was delicious, service was fast and atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was very good. I asked the waitress to hold the salt and pepper and she did. When I wanted mint tea, she made it special for me with mint leaves. It was blessedly quiet and a pleasure to have dinner there.
10/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Service was top-notch and the food was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone. Before visiting NYC I had been looking for a good brunch spot and this place had countless great reviews. So glad I made a reservation here!
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
First time I went to Sarabeth's was in TriBeCa. The food and service here on the UES is just as good. I am able to sit, drink my glass of wine, enjoy a fine dinner, and I am never rushed. To me, that is just as important as the food. Great place, and I will definitely return.

Reliable & Good
There is a quality in both the food and the service that is so dependable. You can count on a varied menu, very nice service and a range of prices. The room has an up feel to it and a customer is always right. Lunch is crowded and a bit noisy but dinner is calmer. I go there whenever I am in the neighborhood and feel lucky to get a reservation.

Quaint date spot!
Came here for a late dinner on Saturday night & Sarabeth's was exactly what we were looking for. Excellent food & a relaxing atmosphere.

Comfortable and Homey
Had breakfast at this nice quiet restaurant on Upper East Side. Scrambled eggs were light and fluffy (not seen in many restaurants). The croissants were the most flaky and buttery I've had outside of the Left Bank. The service was attentive and friendly. "I'll be back."

Sarabeth's never disappoints
I have stopped in on Sarabeth's for years when I have visited New York. Now that I live in the neighborhood, I get to stop by more often. The food is always good and the service is professional but also friendly. This is a great spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Highly recommended.

Fab on the Upper East Side
I don't really spend a lot of time on the Upper East Side. But whenever I go to the 92nd Street Y, this will be my "go to" place. I loved everything about Sarabeth's. It's warm and cozy, the service was outstanding, the food wonderfu and the overall ambience was wonderful. I had a lovely Red Snapper that was prepared perfectly. Thank you for making my experience with my dear friend a memorable one.

Great all around
I've been living on the UES for quite some time and have never been here. I was definitely not disappointed! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. I'd love to try for brunch....finally!
