We used this site to help us find a dinner location with our to teenage kids. We walked in just as a bunch of people left to attend a pirates game, so it was quiet. We had excellent service. The food was good. Would return.

Dinner before a show
The atmosphere was great, the service was outstanding and everyone was so friendly. The food was excellent and the price for the food was good as well. Great experience!

Great food amazing staff. Everyone was very professional and accommodating. It was a great atmosphere for our special occasion dinner and everyone was happy with the food including pork, scallops, filet mignon and crab cakes. Price was also reasonable.

Thank you. We had a lovely birthday brunch this past Sunday. Easy to find, great menu options, delicious food. Took a nice walk to the Point afterwards - so close and what a great way to end our occasion.

I went to this restaurant on two different occasions (both for lunch). I ordered their cheeseburger the first time and the Devonshire the second time. Both meals were very large, well priced, and delicious. The staff was very friendly. Around lunch time, during the week, it's not at all crowded. It's a short walk from market square, but definitely worth it.

Overall, everything was great! We dined there before attending The Buddy Holly Story at the Benedum. We had plenty of time to eat and take a leisurely walk to the Benedum.

We have eaten here before (many times) and have never been disappointed. They treat each dining guest as if they are the only ones in the restaurant.

I really enjoyed Braddock's. First time Experience but will NOT be the Last!!!

The service was great, the food wonderful and the overall ambience can't be beat. The Renaissance Hotel is a beautiful place, elegant but comfortable, a great place to eat and to stay. My first time at Bradock Brasserie but I will go back again.

We were all satisfied with our burgers. Appetizer was the cheese plate, not worth the 14 dollars.

Will be back
Very nice atmosphere, good food, quick service and overall good place to have a nice breakfast meeting. I will be back for sure.

Special Dining Place
I have been to this restaurant many times. My husband and I decided to come here for Restaurant Week in Pittsburgh to taste the special price fixe selection. What a treat from start to finish! The service is the best you will find dining within the city. We will be back, of course. I work in Heinz Hall and will continue to recommend this restaurant to our patrons.

We enjoyed our meal. Service
We enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent. Good menue.
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went for dessert only. The blood orange creme brulee was great, the bread pudding was tasty, the house-made s'more was divine, and Amanda Kate's Kandy Bar was a revelation (and only $5!). For our kids, they put together brownies with just the kid-friendly toppings: marshmallow fluff, vanilla bean ice cream, and chocolate sauce. I enjoyed a sangria from the bar. We had a lovely family celebration for our seven-year-old, and they brought out his dessert with a candle and all the staffers wished him a happy birthday. It was very sweet.
8/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Appetizer was delicious but skimpy for the price. Main course was very good. Very rich sauce on the gnocci. Bread was crunchy and delicious. Nice atmosphere. Nice for occasional dining.
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food presentation and taste in my opinion is spectacular! Our waitress (Shay) was accommodating and attentive, but not too much. I visit here before a show; parking is just across the street and within 2 blocks walking distance to the Theater District.

Excellant service, great food, nice atmosphere. We will dine here again

Mussels Meuniere Magnificent
This was our 6th or 7th dinner at Braddock's , a favorite after our matinee theater performances at the Benedum or the Pittsburgh Piblic Theater. Notable menu choices this time were the spinach, strawberries, pecans and bleu cheese salad with a vinaigrette dressing and the mussels meuniere (not 'mariniere' as listed on the menu). The full portion of mussels were ample for an entree, the frites were good and the meuniere sauce ( butter, wine, herbs and shallots) was " to die for". Sorry to say that I used my fingers, licked the juice and shallots from the shells and used 4 pieces of baquette to soak up the juice before a full stomach caused me to stop eating. Alas, no room for dessert!

Best Dining Scene
We adore this restaurant. Excellent, personalized service makes us feel very welcome--I love that they remember us and call us by name. The food is outstanding, and my absolute favorite is the cauliflower casserole. The menu is not huge, so it's easy to look over and make a decision. The portions are very generous. You couldn't find a better place to dine, whether before or after a show.

Ideal Pre-theater Choice
Downtown was super busy on Saturday, so since we were going to the theater right next door, Braddock's seemed like the most sensible choice, even if the food had been only so-so.
But after not having been there for a while, we found that the food was EXCELLENT -- no complaints whatsoever, and I'm pretty picky -- and the waitress was attentive and friendly. The beet and goat cheese salad was unusual among beet salads, the beets sliced paper thin, with a lovely goat cheese round, and a sprinkling of pistachios. The crab cakes, their sauce, and perfectly cooked asparagus were very good. Even the bread was good!
Knowing we were going to the theater they let us leave our "doggie bags" and pick them up after the show, which was a great perk.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
We ended up at this restaurant at the last minute and I couldn't have been happier. The service was timed well, friendly and professional. The décor is nicely done with muted lighting that works well. The food was fabulous and worth every penny. We both had the filet mignon and drinks so our bill was a bit over $100 but I can honestly say that I didn't mind the price because the entire experience made it worth it (and the food really was terrific). I highly recommend Braddock's to anyone looking for a nice place to eat downtown. A++ all the way.
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went to Braddock's for the first time on a whim to celebrate my wife's birthday. The cuisine was amazing, service was spot on, and had the perfect brasserie ambiance.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Best kept secret.
Braddock's Brassiere is a great place to eat before an event in the Cultural District or the Ballpark. It is convenient, quick and quiet. The wait staff was very attentive.
10/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
An exceptional menu and an overall exceptional dining experience. Everything was prepared perfectly, unique and wonderful. Absolutely have Braddock's take on s'mores for dessert. You will be one seriously "happy camper" if you do.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
Braddock's American Brasserie is an outstanding restaurant, and it has quickly become our favorite in downtown Pittsburgh. The wait staff is incredible, the food is delicious, the serving size is beyond belief. Be sure to try to cauliflower casserole for a real taste treat!
The noise level was a bit annoying this time, but that was because of a banking convention, complete with drum line! I'm sure that won't happen again very soon.
Bottom line: eat at Braddock's and you'll have a very memorable, delightful evening.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
The restaurant located in the Renaissance Hotel had a modern and sophisticated atmosphere paired with delicious food including seasonal selections such as pumpkin pierogies! Prices were reasonable. A lovely fine dining choice close to theaters.
10/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Have loved this restaurant for quite a while, ever since giving it a try through the suggestion of the Cultural Trust. The ambiance of the hotel and restaurant can't be beat, and they have the food and service to match. The rotating specials can be quite a treat, on occasion they out of the ordinary but always delicious. The only negative for me is the relatively stagnant regular menu if you have visited Braddock's consistently. If I'm not excited by the special (which are seemingly more varied on weekends), I have to go with my standby entree as I have already tried most everything on the regular menu. The special events Chef Jason has are really something; if you're looking for something uniquely different and always good, it's here!

Great spot for dinner before a show
Take advantage of their excellent menu and free valet parking during the show. The Ahi Tuna as an appetizer was prepared very well and is large enough that it could be used as a main course. The Seared Scallops were delicious! The buttered carrots and yellow squash perogies were also very good. Your parking ticket is validated by your server. We have eaten hereon at least 6 occasions and have never been disappointed.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food and service were outstanding.
Food and service were outstanding. Even the 1/2 portions were substantial. The menu selection is extremely broad and permits one to select either a wide variety of appetizers or entrees.

Great Hotel Restaurant
If you are staying at the Renaissance Hotel, don't overlook this gem. There are a lot a great nearby restaurants, but you are missing a great dining experience if you overlook this one. The Whiskey Salmon is excellent, as are the Scallops. Great restaurant choice for a pre-concert meal.

Great Flavor, Missed Opportunity
Our meal was a bit of a mixed bag. I had the potato gnocci with lobster. The flavor was fantastic, but the lobster was below average. The portion size was terribly small. So I was very happy with the dish's planning, but the execution just did not come through.
My wife's filet was much the same. Great cut and great sides. But her Med-Well was well-done. With show tickets, we didnt have time to have it re-cooked. Again, the cut of filet was great. Just poor execution.
The waitress was great and they accommodated a few custom requests for us. We also ordered one drink that we didnt care for. Even though nothing was wrong with the drink, they happily replaced it.
Anyway, I would definitely try again.

Great Food & Convenient Location
We had reservations for the play at the Byham next door. It is very convenient to this & all of the cultural venues in the city. The food was excellent & the staff was very accommodating to us to get us out in time. We had reservations for 6 but were caught in traffic. We called to let them know & there was no problem for are 10 minute late arrival. I look forward to come here the next time I'm in town for an event.

Great food and great staff!
This place is delicious! The staff is always polite and helpful when it comes to choosing entrees or selecting a wine to compliment. I go to Braddock's every time I am in Pittsburgh! :)

Good hotel dining room.
This place has a very nice menu and good food. It's in the Theater district and we use it for pre-theater. I have had the steak frites with hangar steak and the mussels with frites, among other menu items. The mussels were excellent, but there did seem like too many that didn't open, not such a good sign. If you get frites, prepare for a very large portion. My wife had the fish and frites on our last visit. The fish was very good, but she only managed to eat about 1/2 of what was on the plate. Definitely a restaurant for people with big appetites.

Love the pierogi
Love the addition of pierogi of month chefs pierogi are always great.... Not a bad change in choice before a concert or play in the cultural district and won't break the bank

You cannot beat this lovely establishment, close to everything, great food and the doorman runs to open the door for you :)

Consistent quality and service
Never disappoints with quality and service - menu is diverse and has something for everyone. I come often for business lunches and guests always rave about food, atmosphere and ability to converse without a lot of background noise. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

We go to Braddocks 5 or 6 times a year and always enjoy our meal. We like the appetizers and this time just shared a main course. Need a better wine list.

Staff took good care of me and Mom
Pre-theater dinner. We were helped to our seats immediately. When we commented that this had been the old Fulton movie theater, the hostess brought us a 5-page description of the history and renovations. The lobby would make a great place just to sit and catch my breath between downtown chores. The soup was as good as Mom used to make. The steak frites and Amish roast chicken on polenta were everything they were advertised to be, with plenty to take home. Pain-in-the-neck wino that I am, I found an excellent pinot by the glass. (Ok, two glasses.) We'll be back.

The service, food, and atmosphere was excellent. Not one complaint!!

Outstanding Service & Great Food
I took my wife here as a surprise over the weekend. Let me start by saying the service was outstanding. They were always checking on us to see if we needed anything and to fill our drinks. I tried a drink on their menu but didn't like it, ordered a beer and to my surprise my first drink wasn't included on the bill! We both got crab cakes and absolutely loved them! This is a great place and great location! I would definitely give this place a try!
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great food in a comfortable setting
My son and I visited Braddock's during a recent visit to the city, and I definitely would go back. All of the good we had was outstanding, and what I would call a twist on American food. I had their "Pork and Beans" and my son had a filet, both were cooked to perfection and delicious. The restaurant was open and bright and not too loud despite being right off the hotel lobby. I will definitely go back again.

Nice night out
Braddock's was definitely a restaurant I would return to. It had a wonderful atmosphere and all of the staff was very friendly and courteous. They had a nice variety of food and drinks that were reasonably priced. Overall it was a great restaurant for date night.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
the pierogie plate special was great.........we only ordered the smaller portion dishes of the rigatoni........I do not see how a person could eat the large dish........we both really enjoyed our dinner.

Pre Theater Dinner Delight!
Made reservation and met friends for a pre-theater dinner. Enjoyed a cocktail before dining. Service was friendly and excellent, attentive to our event timing; always with a friendly smile. Menu was varied; new chef has stepped it up. Enjoyed the succulent Seared Scallops, Veal Schnitzel, and Crab Cakes - - pleasing presented and tasty. Food was served hot.
Staff is always hospitable- - - welcoming you as a family member! Bon Appetit!

pierogies to die for
We always have dinner here before we go to the theater. It's a special treat and this time was not a disappointment. The chef made Thanksgiving pierogies - turkey kielbasa sliced thin over a pierogi with mashed potatoes and gravy. They would have been fine for a meal. The salmon was delicious, the salads are always fresh and the French onion soup was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My sister-in-law always eats the beet and goat cheese salad because she loves it so much. The food is unique, the atmosphere is perfect for talking and you are not rushed out. It's a beautiful setting in an old hotel. You won't be sorry!

Great Dinner before Elf the Musical
