One of our favorite restaurants!
The local caviar was a wonderful surprise and so competitive with Osetra. We tried so many of the appetizers and loved all of them! Service was top notch, no question unanswered, and we left there way too full but very happy!

A place where you can dine
A place where you can dine leisurely while experiencing outstanding food beautifully presented. A restaurant eager to please in an unobtusive manner. A place where you feel comfortable and "at home". We were with out of town friends and they were equally enthralled.

I believe it was well over priced...that aside it was nice. The music was too loud coming from the piano...other than that all was well.

We have always gone to the Organery for special occasions but this time we sat in courtyard with a more relaxed atmosphere. You can order off the main menu or courtyard menu. We mixed it up and ordered from both. The food was honestly out of this world! It was so good we went back 3 days later.

Don't go here if you're in a hurry
While the service staff was helpful and friendly & attentive, I did think the wait was long to get our food. From the time we arrived till we were served our main course, it was 40 minutes. Though my guest for lunch was served her soup and we were each served ONE slice of bread and my hot tea was brought.... it then took another half hour to receive our entrees. Overall, we were NOT in a hurry and had an enjoyable lunch. The online menu was not accurate so I was all set to order something that they didn't have. The food WAS delicious and well prepared...the menu unique. However, I think they rely a bit on their ambiance and should up the speed at which they prepare your order. My guest had a salad and I had the pork medallions.

The Orangery has a been a Knoxville icon for most of my life and Chef Amber Lloyd has put together a beautiful menu. The staff is very attentive and professional and the food is just to wonderful to describe.
This is a wonderful place for a business lunch, girls day out, special occasion dinner, or large event. I have attended wedding receptions here and they are always WONDERFUL. The atmosphere of the building just makes everything feel so special.

We enjoy the atmosphere and
We enjoy the atmosphere and the excellent food and selection. We also enjoy having the Orangery being close and having a lot of parking.

This is an excellent restaurant for a special occasion. Received red roses, champagne, and chocolate dipped strawberries.
Plus the birthday dinner was on the house. Food is excellent and the ambience is the best.

The entrance is on a quaint side street behind wrought iron gates. Inside, in a room to the right, white haired ladies were playing cards and middle aged ladies of leisure were exchanging gossip over lunch.
I had a salmon dish, which was pretty good and raspberry tiramisu, which I would not recommend.
The waiter was very good. Maybe a little too good, as I was on a business lunch and he checked on us 4 times before either of us had stopped talking long enough to even look at the menu, but he was perfectly delightful about it. Definitely service with a smile.
We stayed a little past the end of lunch (more than 2 hours from when we got there) and were not rushed. Perfect setting, with large tables for papers, to conduct business.

Posh little place
We went on a whim, we were not disappointed. Wide variety of items for the Sunday Brunch. Service and food very good.
6/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Orangery is unsurpassed in every way. A first choice for celebrating very special occasions.
7/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Orangery has a long history in Knoxville. It has gone through some changes. Many for the better. There is no more elegant dining room in Knoxville. The common areas, courtyard and banquet rooms are beautiful. And, the food very good. The restaurant holds a special place for my wife and I. It's where we were married and had our wedding party. We love to return for a fine dining meal, special occasion or a more casual evening in the courtyard for music (or even a movie this Summer which we really like). The restaurant would benefit from a more seasoned wait staff. But, that's sometimes hard to come by these days. Overall the service is good and the people very, very friendly.

My friends and I went for
My friends and I went for burger night ($10 Kobe Beef burgers) which were outstanding. The cool thing about burger night is $5 goes to charity. The only complaint I had was how it was more of a charity night... someone was going to each table asking for money and making speeches about the charity...it was a little awkward and the long speeches about the charity made it hard to talk to the group of people I went there with. Otherwise, the food, atmosphere, and service were outstanding!

I was with a group of four and we had a wonderful time, could hear each other talk, and the food was terrific.

My date and I really enjoyed the Orangery. The food is pricier than I am used to but it is a very nice restaurant and the atmosphere is perfect. Would definitely go again.

We love this place...
The ambience is lovely....noise level low and service was excellent. We really enjoyed the food...I had the lobster special and it was delectable. Also had the bistro salad and it was wonderful. We will return the next time we are in Knoxville. Don't miss the Sunday brunch. We had dinner on Friday and learned about their brunch and decided to try it out...Yum Yum

I had lunch at the Orangery recently and as always, everything was perfect! But, more than the wonderful ambience and service, the food is the best in Knoxville and very well priced.

Paris in Knoxville
We were celebrating a long overdue visit to my family and their new addition of a beautiful baby. Our server Wendy was pleasant and professional. She knew the menu well and gave us a quick history of the restaurant.
Wine, drinks ,food....all amazing. Dive intot the scallops. Chef does them perfectly. There is also enough variey to please anyone that visits. If your tastebuds move you toward the raspberry tiramisu, get an espresso to cut the sweetness.

We've dined at the Orangery many times. It is a great special occasion restaurant. The staff pays great attention to details.
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Orangery lived up to it's reputation as a Knoxville tradition. The food and atmosphere were great but it was our server who made our lunch special. I can't remember his name (I'm really terrible on names) but he was very good at his job, he answered all our questions and gave us great food advice.

One of Knoxville's finest
The Orangery is one of the finest restaurants in the greater Knoxville area. It is by far our favorite place to dine for those special occasions that come up a few times a year (birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations).... Great food, great service, great atmosphere and friendly staff from top to bottom. A truly special place to share with family and close friends...... David (the owner) and his staff are very good at what they do and go out of their war to make our visits enjoyable...

This was the first time I had eaten at the restaurant. The food was wonderful. I enjoyed everythng that I tried even with it being a bit saltly for my taste. This is definately a special occassion place for me.

Orangery - Sunday Buffet
I tried the Orangery Sunday Buffet, not previously aware that this buffet existed until a friend mentioned it. The buffet, although not as expansive as some other area Sunday buffets, was very well done. Lobster macaroni and cheese was a big hit at our table. Of course, the ambience of the Orangery is worth the price, and the food was outstanding. Definitely this buffet goes into our post-church dining rotation. Thank you Orangery!

All around excelence.
The Organery seems to have reclaimed their position as the finest restaurant in Knoxville. Excellent food, service, wine and ambiance. Very impressed. Will definitely be back. Well done!

Great Anniversary Dinner
My husband and I were visiting Knoxville from Chicago, and were looking for a romantic place to celebrate our anniversary. We went early on a weeknight and found the The Orangery to be an elegant and romantic setting. I enjoyed the beet salad with a wonderful goal cheese and the Colorado lamb chops. My husband enjoyed the lobster special. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. If ever in Knoxville again, I would definitely return.
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had a BOGO coupon and checked out the Sunday Brunch. It was great! I've dined here for special occasions, but I'll go more regularly with a $20 price tag on Brunch. Very good and worth it - with or without a coupon.

Taste better than Texture
Beautiful environment even though some age is really showing. Chairs are getting ratty and wobbly. I had the Bombay Pork Medallions. They were tender and the braised spinach over mashed potatoes were very tasty. The only issue I had was that the sauce was so soupy the potatoes practically dissolved in it. Too much liquid. The flavor was very good though. I will be back to try again soon.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
From the service to the food, everything was outstanding! The staff are extremely attentive. There is nice live piano music. Never felt rushed! Kathleen the manager is so friendly and attentive! Our waiter Marc was so professional and friendly! Delicious food and drink! Thanks for a fabulous night out!

superb as always
My wife and I ate at The Orangery for her birthday. The service and food were excellent as always. We should eat there more often.

I went for brunch: limited
I went for brunch: limited number of dishes, but all very good. I was not too impressed with the macaroni-and-lobster; the pasta was overcooked and there was more of the smell of lobster than the lobster itself. Banana foster was exceptional. wonderful romantic atmosphere. planning in going back.

first time and impressed
Having grown up in the Knoxville area I've heard about the Orangery forever - but had never been. I was looking for places to celebrate my birthday and looked up the menu, it's not really a french restaurant anymore which surprised me but the menu looked really good. I don't typically go to restaurants that expensive, but I was happy to find it worth the $. I had the lamb chops which were excellent and I was happy to see a good sized portion. It wasn't huge but it was plenty - some super fancy places have these teeny-tiny portions that feel like a joke. At a place like that I'm not looking for a dollar/food ratio or anything but it's nice to have a reasonable portion for the price charged. The service was good as was dessert.
11/4/2013 4:00:00 PM
The Orangery is fantastic!
That about says it all. The meal was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere was romantic with a pianist playing non stop during our meal. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. We will definatley be back

My husband and I went here for his birthday on November 9th and had a great experience. The Staff was very friendly and polite. The food was excellent and the ambience was very peaceful. Perfect for a date night!

Special Veteran's Day
Even with the busy night of serving Veterans for free, they were able to keep up the pace and make this a memorable evening. And a big thank you for doing this for those that served our country.
