Love this place!
My husband and I go to Amelia's a couple of times a year and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is always amazing and the service is great! This time I had Arancini - lamb inside made it delectable and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli - Oh my goodness, SO good, they melted in my mouth and were so yummy! The berry sorbet was refreshing and delicious!

From attentive service to outstanding dishes including the off-menu carbonara, this was an exceptional dining experience. The dining room is definitely cozy but has a great intimate atmosphere. Staff were knowledgeable, welcoming, and helpful in suggesting drinks and dishes. Amelia's boast of using the freshest ingredients as the main component of their home made dishes and it clearly shows. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great meal enjoyed by my family
Great meal enjoyed by my family on a recent visit to Cambridge. The lobster ravioli was great, as was the special ravioli.

Great little Italian restaurant.
Food was delicious. Staff was extremely friends. Environment was, shall we say, cozy. We will definitely be back.

The meal I had was amazing.
The meal I had was amazing. It was one of the specials. I really enjoy this restaurant for dinner because the lunch menu is classic contemporary american cuisine but in the evening they let their chefs have flex their muscles and they sure do. The dishes are amazing and the atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable.

Definitely going back!
This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. It was a block away from the movie theater so we decided to have dinner her before the show. We ordered the mussel appetizer and were pleasantly surprised by both the portion and quality. It was a giant bowl with mussels drenched in a garlic/butter sauce. Delicious! We both ordered up specials for the entree and again, the quality carried over. Perfectly cooked halibut, along with butternut squash. She had a delightful pasta with large scallops. Overall, the experience was great. Recommended for sure!

FIND IT. EAT IT. LOVE IT!!!!!
Any time I am near Cambridge I go to this gem of a restaurant off Kendall SQ. (ish). Polenta and calamari to die for and entrees that are innovative and carefully prepared. This time, I had a grass fed ribeye, grilled and then served with a dash of a wine and thyme reduction that was AWESOME, and my friend had the sweetest, most luscious halibut I've tasted this side of Alaska! The wait staff is attentive and helpful, AND (yes, it gets better!) there is one of the best, most reasonably priced wine lists I have ever had the pleasure to drink my way through! The Chef/Owner, Delio, doesn't take huge mark ups on his wines...more to love!
The only downside? That I am never in town long enough to eat there TWICE during my visits!
5/10/2013 4:00:00 PM
Not far from Kendall Square , Amelia's Trattoria is a food lovers find off the well travelled path.

The food and ambience (with all the windows) were great. I took my friend there for his birthday, and he really liked it. It is a bit noisy though, which some people don't mind.

Definitely a neighborhood favorite
Always a pleasure, great ambiance, good food, reasonable prices.

Always love the food and atmosphere. One this occasion we were coming from a play which ran late. They kept the restaurant open for us and our friends, and were incredibly friendly and accomodating.
5/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Dinner with friends
We brought another couple new to the restaurant and we all enjoyed ourselves. The capinata was delicious, as was the special grilled octopus appy and the meatballs. The lobster ravioli, the special ravioli filled with collard greens with ricotta salada, and the papardelle with mushrooms all were great. The zuppa de pesce was also great.
5/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Amelia's is a terrific find - casual neighborhood feel with the sophistication of incredible Italian cuisine. We really enjoyed our entire evening. Not rushed at all even though they were packed.
6/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Whether on a business outing or you just want a solid meal with great service, Amelia's delivers.
6/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
consistently good, mostly
this is an gem. food is often very good, but it seemed a little off this time. polenta was too watery, mushrooms without good flavor. spinach ravioli excellent. gelato good too.
i guess that nothing can be perfect every time and the price point is still just right
wine list could be a little broader, and start lower in price

Going one step beyond
Amelia is the neighborhood restaurant par excellence. Small, cozy, intimate. It is a Trattoria at its best. Saturday night my guest wanted the Salmon special but also wanted Risotto. Amelia's Chef did a special combination, he truly went one step beyond. Needless to say, she was (and we were all) very impressed. I order the Lobster Ravioli, perfectly matched by the Maitre's suggested white wine. Bocatto di Cardenali. Great experience.
6/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Perfectly boiled pasta
Their pasta is cooked into perfect al dente! We love this small and cozy restaurant!

The most romantic restaurant that I know. Plus excellent service and terrific food.

Always a treat
Every time I go to Amelia's I am delighted. Despite the relatively short menu, it is hard to decide between the options, because whatever you choose will be delicious. The staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their food and wine and very willing to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. I can't wait to go back!
8/6/2013 5:00:00 PM
Lovely neighborhood restaurant, outstanding wine, great pasta, moderate prices. Loved the service . Very pleased. Will be going again for sure.

As always, amazing
My husband and I visit Amelia's a couple of times a year and we have never had a bad experience. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food... Oh my, the food. It's delicious. We attempt to try something new every time. Tuesday, it was the lamb meatballs and they were divine!!
8/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We've been to Amelia's many times and love their menu and service. We were not disappointed, even on a busy evening during restaurant week. The choices on the menu included some of the restaurant's best dishes ( their ribs bolognese is a must), the service was efficient and friendly and the experience delightful.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
We sat outside on a lovely evening so the atmosphere was great. The food was a slight disappointment. The appetizers were the best part of the meal. We should have stopped there. We had the carpaccio, the lamb meatballs and the polenta. They were all delicious. Then we had the entrees: lemon ravioli, short rib pasta, salmon and steak. The only really terrific entrée was the steak. It was tender and flavorful. The salmon was over cooked, the short rib pasta was bland and the lemon ravioli dry and the lemon flavor was bitter. The desserts were not much better, with the lemon panacotta sticky, the gelato and tiramisu, average. I have to say it was Restaurant Week, so maybe the chef was overwhelmed. Overall, we would not go back.

We like Amelia's no matter
We like Amelia's no matter if it is Restaurant Week or not. The food is usually great, and the waitstaff is always excellent. Getting the entire meal for a discount during Restaurant week is a bonus, but we have dined there other times, and will go back. Our only criticism was the dessert, which had a bit less taste than it should have. It was lemon panna cotta, but the only flavoring was in the strawberries that garnished the top. Still, everything else was top notch.
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent food - reasonably priced
A tiny restaurant tucked into a little corner off of Kendall Square, it's easy to walk right by, but that would be a mistake. The food was delicious - grilled caesar salad, lemon-ricotta ravioli, and more. The wine selection is nice as well - we had a Montepulciano that went very well with our entrees. There are the usual Italian choices on the menu, but try the specials instead. There's also an outdoor area if the weather is nice. We'll be back!
8/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food, service and ambiance.
Great food, service and ambiance. The butternut squash pasta was great and we really enjoy the arugula salad.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
I have not eaten here before, but had heard good things. I was not disappointed, nor was the group I was with. The food was very good and the service as well. We will be returning. The location is not big, but that just adds to the experience. You don't get the feeling that you are just another table to be turned.
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Arrived 20 minutes early and table was ready. It's a small restaurant without much waiting room. Food and service were very good. Three diners... One vegetarian, one gluten and dairy free and one without any food allergies. We all found good meals that we thoroughly enjoyed. Truffle fries and arugula salad to start. Spaghetti for the vegetarian, ravioli special for another and chicken breast over oven roasted veggies for the third. Even though it was small we never felt rushed and enjoyed our time . Would return ! Our waiter was great and knew the menu and options. They were very accommodating about the food allergies.

Wonderful Meal (again)
We have eaten at Amelia's Trattoria before and continue to be surprised with the originality and excellence of the food, service and the dining experience. It has become our favorite dining spot in Cambridge, the menu is excellent and the preparation of each dish is done very well. This visit we had our favorite 'beet salad' appetizer which we love and have not found anything close in any of the other restaurants we have visits around the country.
The small size and setting makes it a wonderful neighborhood restaurant and at the same time great for a special meal out.

The two times we have dined
The two times we have dined at Amelia's we have been delighted with both the food and the service. Looking forward to a third visit! What a great find.

Good things in small packages
Had an early dinner here before catching a movie at Kendall. Food was terrific. Interesting menu. Attentive staff. Didn't have time for dessert, but everything was delicious.

Amelia's is a small restaurant
Amelia's is a small restaurant with seating for 24-30. It is very tastefully designed and cozy. It is located within the heart of Cambridge. It has limited seating and thus not the best for dropping in or bringing a large party. It is best to make reservations and you will not be disappointed. Food and service was excellent. Great choice for couples.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Second time dining at this establishment and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The service is impeccable and the food is a delight. The presentation and flavor of the food is outstanding. We cannot say enough good things about this charming trattoria. If you are looking for fine dining in a casual atmosphere then Amelia's Trattoria is the place for you.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Started out with some bread and white bean dip. I'm generally not a lover of white bean dip - but OMG, this was off the charts good!! Got a 2nd helping actually. Then, ordered the Fusilli Bolognese, and WOW, loved it! It was a rather quiet evening (Monday), but exactly what I wanted for a business meeting/discussion.
11/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
Now that's Italian!
Wonderful small restaurant. Perhaps 12 tables and always full and there are many reasons for that. Food, service, drinks and atmosphere are all excellent. Fresh bread and white bean dip to start is great. Not on the menu the night we went, but do ask for it. The pasta dishes were all fresh paste with very good sauce all well presented. My haddock was the best I have ever had and I've had it a lot. Try it. Drinks were prepared as ordered. Dry was dry and a scotch with one ice cube had one ice cube. Seems simple but often not. Good wine list and the server was knowable and helpful. everyone in the place was having a good time including the staff. We will be back when in Cambridge again.
