Spectacular fine dining experience.
Spectacular fine dining experience. They had Japanese Wagyu beef direct from Japan, including the certificate of authenticity. An unusual splurge.
We always have great meal, the staff is impeccable and William a gracious host. Probably the best meal in Seattle.

We went for Seattle restaurant
We went for Seattle restaurant week. Portions were great, the food was wonderful, but our waiter was moody and gave us the impression that he hated us! Put a bit of a damper on things...

I would definitely recommend.
We had lunch during the "dine around Seattle" event which makes it an inaccurate representation.
Restaurants are so crazy busy and making the same 3 courses over and over, but...
It was really good.
The pâté Campagne was nicely presented with its cucumber, rhubarb and fennel pickles and pile of baby arugula.
Plus the two mustards on the plate were really yummy.
They bring a wonderful walnut bread to the table which was great with different combinations of the plate piled on top.
We had the short rib and farro plus the scallop with the beans and chimchurri.
I thought both were delicious.
The first having a sort of Asian lean and the second an Italian lean.
The deserts on the other hand did not turn me on too much.

Wonderful food. Every course
Wonderful food. Every course was a taste experience. One of the finest restaurants I've ever eaten at!

Delicious food with some new
Delicious food with some new twists for me but not too weird to be wary about.

VEry cool place. Food for
VEry cool place. Food for the most part was great, with a wonderful selection. Chef whipped up a special dessert fro my lactose-intolerant friend. Waitress Elizabeth was refreshingly knowledgable and warm - 5+ stars for her.

Food was delicious, my date
Food was delicious, my date had short ribs while I had the painted hills ribeye. My only complaint as far as the food goes was that for 35 a plate I would expect to leave full. We also had a rhubarb dish for desert that was probably the best part of the meal. Service was great, water was always full and the waiter was there before we needed every time. In addition the chef stopped by the table multiple times to check on us which was very welcoming. Definitely would recommend to a friend

A dining adventure
Always great to dine here as long as you do not mind the energetic chatter. Not a place for the hard of hearing. Otherwise it never disappoints an adventurous eater.

Talented fresh cuisine
Fresh, seasonal food. Very creative and complex flavor profiles indicates some serious talent. From picture perfect crudos to Foie Gras, hard to go wrong here.

Really enjoyed this experience. The waiter was perfect! He knew everything that we'd enjoy on a protein diet. I had the popcorn though. The cool drink with the carved ice was an added amenity!

Great Happy Hour
We had a great meal off the Happy Hour drink and food assortment. All very tasty for a very reasonable price. The service was pretty good. The waiter we had was a bit on the strange side but it was all good. We had a great time. We will definitely come again for after work HH events. Need to try dinner next time!

Good food, bad atmosphere
The food at Mistral is great, the service is just right, but the atmosphere and noise are unacceptable. The much lauded architectural details - high ceilings, concrete floors, stark interior - has been so overdone lately that it is becoming a cliche and is just too precious. The overall impact is that it makes the place cold, uninviting, and LOUD. The place was so loud from the loud heavy metal sound track to the annoying soliloquy of the dinner three tables away from us that it completely ruined the atmosphere for us. So, despite the great menu, delicious food, and attentive server, we won't be back - unless there is a warm evening and we can sit outside.

Fine dining in South Lake Union
Mistral Kitchen continues to be a great spot for fine dining that won't break your budget. The space is wonderful and modern without being cold. The staff very professional and know the menu quite well. Definitely a place that's on my list of special places to dine, especially late night dining! Keep up the great work and please bring the potatoes Rubicon back on the menu!

our group meets yearly at a conference and we had picked Mistral Kitchen because of the good reviews and menu we saw on their web site. They did not dissappoint us. Our waiter Michael was exceptional. We enjoyed the food and wine recommendations. It was a very enjoyable evening. I would definately go back again if I am in Seattle.

Wonderful Seattle Experience
Creative, delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. Owner William came out to say hello. Stellar service. Restaurant, cuisine, owner William and his staff are all wonderful representations of Seattle and its delicious cuisine and diverse welcoming personality!

Delicious and unique
The menu is filled with unique ingredients and combinations. Furthermore, the menu changes almost daily, so there's always something new! The prices are high but justifiably so, with amazing food, atmosphere, and service.

The chicken was among the best dishes I have eaten in my life.
Other aspects of the restaurant, including the service and the lurking chef were less world class.

Wow. Tremendous food, professional and polite service with a smart wine list. The craft cocktails were well-executed.

Fantastic Dining Experience
We had a fabulous dinner at Mistral Kitchen. To be able to relax and enjoy a meal with friends and feel well taken care of, but never rushed, is truly a treat and something Mistral Kitchen has mastered. Don't miss the charcuterie and cheese plates and anything involving the 48-Hour Short Rib or their mole sauce is a must! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the food just shines!
8/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
We received very warm service from host, server and expediter, and enjoyed the decor. The highlight was the hamachi crudo starter, but the summer squash salad and spare rib were tasty as well. The music was an awful 80s soft rock mix; we could have done without that. But I'd definitely go back for a nice night out.

Mistral is a grand dame of Seattle foodie scene. Lots have come and gone, and she remains, though evolving with the times. New location in WLK/SLC is fantastic. More urban and hip, but the food remains stellar.
I would like to thank the team at Mistral for a fabulous evening of great food and fabulous hospitality. I came in from Tokyo for a quick weekend, and booked a big table to catch up with friends. They made our whole evening wonderful from start to finish. Thank you!
A class act.

Happy happy hour
We popped in for an impromptu early meal and were pleased to discover a tempting happy hour menu. I had olives, a beautifully presented crudo, and a delicious pork bun that left me wishing I had room for several more!
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
My girlfriend and I are definitely foodies. I chose this place because I've had brunch there before and the food was fabulous. I decided to take her there because I figured she would dig the environment, the quality, and the overall vibe. The waitress was awesome and made the experience that much better. I would recommend this place to anybody who wishes to eat some of the finest cuisine Seattle has offer.

Excellent Food - a bit overpriced
The entrées were excellent and the portions were just right but I thought they were overpriced. The cheese plate was great.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
We came here during their Seattle restaurant week and really enjoyed everything we had. Heard great things about this place and had to try them out and really happy we did! Their mole chicken was very moist and delish! We will be coming back again!
10/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Unusual flavor combos
The sunchoke & vanilla soup was divine. The desserts delish. Love how the chef mixes savory/sweet falvorings in new ways. Entrees - meh. Pizza was soggy, chicken underdone.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good price excellent food
I was trying this restaurants as part of restaurant week but turns out its a Friday and restaurant week prices do not work that day. But then I found that they have a three course lunch special for $20 all the time. What a surprise find and best yet the food was great. Presentation, taste, portions and people all perfect. I love it.

Mistral hits all the right notes
Our visit was during Seattle Restaurant Week. The $28 Dinner Prix Fixe had a lovely selection that each of us enjoyed. The halibut preparation was light anf flavorful. We had starters of the Kumomotos with a chef's preparation of a basil reduction/oil of some sort that complemented the oysters perfectly. I rate bars by their Gin Fizz, which I can happily report was delicious. And the seasonal pumpkin pie dessert was phenomenal! Will definitely be visiting again.

Mistral Kitchen was much more
Mistral Kitchen was much more casual than I expected. There were a lot of families and kids eating there.
The maine sea scallop and the seared foie gras were the best dishes we had.

Food was delicious: arugula/fig
Food was delicious: arugula/fig salad, cauliflower gratin, chicken and rib-eye steak.
Great wine and cocktails
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
excellent in every way
The food was perfect, the waitstaff attentive, the space is interesting, perhaps a bit on the cold side with hard surfaces and concrete floors but nice. We were there on a sunday night and there weren't many other diners to no way to test the true noise level of the place, could be loud. It's in a bit of a strange location and we drove by it a couple of times. Will definitely go again. Loved it.

This is was our first visit.
This is was our first visit. We went early on a Sunday night. We outnumnbered the staff. The food is truly great. The service I found slow and off considering the few people. The staff spent most of its time in a wine tasting at the end of the bar. My wife and I were dry several times and had to ask to get refills. The server put in the wrong salad and delivered it. My wife did not send it back because she said it was one of the best salads she has ever had. The server, to his great credit, admitted he put in the wrong salad and did not charge us. We will give it another try another day.
