We love Paradiso. The food is excellent, the bar is perfect, and the service is great. We highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys an above average dining experience. They do an excellent job with private parties too. If you haven't been there you don't know what you are missing !!!!

Everyone we encountered at
Everyone we encountered at Paradiso was warm, responsive and professional from the bartender to hostess to our waiter! The well-lit modern dining room is well appointed and still casual and very comfortable. The best of course was finding a menu with good range. I felt there was something for every mood. I chose a great entree - black seafood risotto with lobster. The spinach salad appetizer was the perfect starter. I would definitely look to see my new friends at Paradiso again!!

An excellent neighborhood
An excellent neighborhood restaurant but parking can be an issue. Food was excellent with a small but diverse lunch menu. The scallops with mushroom risotto exceeded my expectations as did my partner;s salmon with cannelloni. The server was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly.

Food is excellent. It was my birthday and they allowed us to bring our own cake. It was a very special evening thanks to Lynn and her staff.

Our dinner was amazing! Loved the risotto with lobster and fava beans. Creative seasonal menu and affordable well chosen wine list. We can't wait to return.

Paradiso is always great!!
Fabulous fish with so many wonderful layers of flavor. Open windows provide a relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful bar to start things off. We had a great time.

Lovely restaurant with subtle
Lovely restaurant with subtle colors. Get there early because the noise level goes up steadily and it becomes harder to hear across the table. The food is very good. Appetizers are a bit pricey. The $12 escargot in a tomato sauce was excellent-the best part of the dinner. Entrees are mid to upper $20s. Corkage fee is $12, but Sunday is BYOB night. Neighborhood parking meters are until 10 p.m.

Go and Enjoy
Went for Mother's Day early dinner. Food was fantastic - Italian with a flare and dishes that were more continental. Very attentive service and just a wonderful dining experience.

Nouveau Italian Cuisine
This is a great Italian Restaurant. It is not the old red saucey Italian restaurant of yesterday. It is Nouveau Italian at its best. Owner/chef Lyn Rinaldi creates and prepares incredible delicious and almost unbelieveable entrees, appetizers and desserts for you to enjoy.

Another Great Experience @ Paradiso
Another great dining experience at Paridiso with friends. The food selections are all carefully explained and the quality is excellent. Have never had any issues with the service or food.

Excellent, as always
We had a wonderful dinner. The food (I had the duck breast and she had the tilefish) was amazing, perfectly prepared. Service was all you could hope for in a higher-end restaurant. The menu is pricey but well worth it. I spent about $100 on dinner and wine for two with appetizer and an after-dinner port.

Good food, but slow
The food at Paradiso was great. The only reason it did not get five stars for food was their appetizers have a lot of strange combinations that did not necessarily go together. All the other courses were excellent. They have a comprehensive wine selection to meet just about any tastes, and a large assortment of cheeses to pair with that. Our wait staff was very attentive and answered all our questions with a smile. The only true issue was the timing. From when we finished our soups and appetizers, it took nearly a full hour for our main courses to come out from the kitchen. The restaurant was less than half full so I would have some concerns if we ever went on a night when all the tables were occupied. Otherwise, we had a great time!

I get to Paradiso at least once a month, and sometimes more, because it is so hard to beat this place. The food is amazing -- inventive and comforting at the same time. At this visit, I ordered tagliatelle with english peas and pancetta. Sounds simple and yet it wasn't. The flavors were very complex and I am still thinking about this meal two days later. That is how the food is here. One of the aspects I enjoy the most is that the tables are not on top of one another. There is actually room to breathe and have a private conversation. The wait staff is consistently good. One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia, and I out out frequently.

Service is friendly and professional. Remarkably knowledgeable wait staff without affectation. Chef personalizes the cooking and visits each table after food is served. Always a lovely visit.

Nouveau Italian cuisine
Nouveau Italian cuisine at its finest on Passyunk Avenue. If you are looking for a delightful meal with incredible appetizers and entrees without all the heavy red sauces then you have found the spot. This is Nouveau Italian food at its best.

As always, a pleasure to dine here.
Another great evening at Paradiso began with stuffed zucchini blossoms, burrata and heirloom tomatoes as a mid course and maccheroni alla chittara with pancetta, spring peas, asparagus and wild mushrooms (which was absolutely to die for). All three were perfectly prepared and the flavors and presentation were just outstanding.

This spot has been on my list for sometime now and finally made it there last Thursday. The food was absolutely fantastic. Lots of ambience and great service to boot. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Another great meal at Paradiso. I can eat here often because the chef constantly adds menu items and specials to showcase what is in season. At this visit, I ordered a cool burrata and heirloom tomato salad, shared a mid-course of tortelloni stuffed with guinea hen and an entree of bucatini with crab, asparagus and corn. I am still smacking my lips two days later. This is my favorite restaurant in the city.

Good authentic Italian
Great dishes worthy of a nice restaurant in the Italian countryside. Pleasant, engaging servers. Good décor. We were struck by the fact that the dinner was better than anything we had in our recent trip to France.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Last mid-week, we took a group of six to Paradiso, having heard for years how good it was. And thought it was a slow mid-week night, we were simply knocked-out by the quality and inventiveness of the cuisine. And because it was slow, the chef spent some time with us, talking about her approach and about the explosion of restaurants in the neighborhood. If you are looking for a contemporary Italian place, a fusion (hate that over-used word) of a number of continental cuisines, this is your place. I was reminded that in our rush to dine at the newest, hottest restaurants, we should never forget the place that started it all on EPA. Paradiso is wonderful!
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
We arrived on the earlier
We arrived on the earlier side and the hostess gave us the option of choosing any of the open tables. We chose the corner table by the bar with a nice view of the neighborhood. I started with a cocktail, the 'Negroni', which I found it to be a very refreshing variation on the gin-martini and something I'll definitely order again. We then ordered the zucchini blossoms for an appetizer which I found perfectly prepared and stuffed w/goat cheese. Our pasta course was a bucatini with wild boar ragu which easily could have been the best part of our meal if were not completely overshadowed by the pork chop entree I had next. This was possibly the best pork chop I ever had and as a result I totally forget what my wife had (but I'm sure it was great)

Incredible Nouveau Italian Cuisine
If you are tired of the grandmother heavy sauces and what to have Italian food of the 21st century then this is the place to go! Lynn Rinaldi constantly will give you a surprise on your table starting with delicious starters; soup and appetizers with the best Entrees you could imagine.
9/14/2013 5:00:00 PM
Paradiso is gem on Passyunk Ave. You don't expect such elegant food on the Avenue but Lynn (chef/owner ) never fails!
Not typical Italian. Much more sophisticated than red sauce and meatballs but not a stuffy place either.
Full bar , nice sized martini's . All good!
9/18/2013 5:00:00 PM
The service was excellent, The front windows were open and that added to the atmosphere. Parking was easy as there is a lot across the street and for $2.00 you get two hours. Loved the Bronzino, the Pappardelle, Braised Veal (My wife), and the bean soup. We finished the night with a great dessert selection.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were on our way to a Michael Buble concert at the Wells Fargo Center (great concert but Wells Fargo ticket office really abuses you on extra charges above face of tickets) so we went to Paradiso for an early, 6pm dinner.
Our server was very knowledgable about the menu and sensitive to our time. I started with Melon and prosciutto (sweet and salty-perfect) and my wife started with a beet salad , which she loved. Pan seared Bronzino for me and seared scallops and risotto for my wife.
Both just perfectly seared and presented. We skipped the great looking chocolate desert ....
What a pleasing dinner experience !

Wife and I went on the early side for dinner. Elected to sit inside for comfort, although people outside seemed to be having a great experience as well. Excellent wait staff, homemade pasta melts in your mouth, stuffed veal was excellent as well. Octopus appetizer was outstanding

beautiful. The service was outstanding.

Paradiso was fantastic
Upscale Italian in a comfortable setting. The braised tripe was outstanding. The chicken livers were perfect. The pappardella with veal and mushrooms was a great main course. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked. Just a great meal all around. The wait staff was attentive and courteous. The dining room feels cozy but not cramped. The open kitchen is clean and bright and shows off how fresh everything is. A very nice dining experience.

Exquisitely prepared food
The food s fresh, made in house pasta, excellent unique pairings such as chestnut fettuccine. Zucchini squash blossoms
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
The area is a lovely oasis in the middle of nowhere :) Right in a middle of a block of restaurants, the street ends in a lovely little square with a fountain.
The place itself is cute, if minimalistic, but the food was great! Every dish we tried was exceptional, very good service, potent drinks, so overall highly recommend.

Had the chance to sample several
Had the chance to sample several appetizers and all of them were very good. The service was good and waitstaff was very attentive and informative. Took a while to get our main courses (which is fine), but the food was not hot, it was barely warm, and this was my main concern.

This was the third time for us at Paradiso, and our finest meal yet. The kale-bean soup was delicious. The striped bass was perfect- crispy skin with moist fish over a yummy parsnip puree.

Great New Italian at its best
We have been dining here for about three years and the food quality is always the same, it is terrific. If you are looking for light noveau Italian then this place is for you.

Great night out
Enjoyed a nice Sat night at Paradiso. Had 6:30 reservations and was seated promptly. Ordered cured meat and cheese appetizer recommended by our server. was excellent.. All four in our party was very pleased with their entrees. Portions were very generous, much more so than I remember from our last visit. Husband thought the duck was one of best he ever had. Ambience was great, a nice crowd but easy to talk. Would definitely go again.

The food was fabulous!
We really enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The kitchen is clearly in the hands of a very talented chef. Very capable server as well, excellent bottle of wine, too. We'll be back!

The food was excellent and
The food was excellent and the service was friendly. They did seem a little under staffed, as we waited for a while to have our water glasses filled. However, when the servers were at our table they were always friendly and responsive.

Paradiso remains a must for
Paradiso remains a must for anyone wanting really good Italian food in Philadelphia. The food, up and down the menu is exceptional, the wine list reasonable, the service spot on and the ambiance elegant without being stuffy. And all this at a very, very reasonable price point. If you live in the Philadelphia area, you will find yourself returning again and again, as I have, and it will become your go to place when hosting guests from out of town. Then after a while, the next thing you know is that you have become a part of the Paradiso family.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
6 of us went. All enjoyed the evening. All would return. Fun night was had by all!
11/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
The scallops were great, although the risotto was a little hard for my taste. The red snapper was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The fritto misto was very tasty! The calamari was not rubbery and the shrimp delicious. Drawback, don't sit near the bar too noisy.
11/29/2013 4:00:00 PM
Very good expensive and small porti
The food at Paradiso was very good. My husband and I had fish. Cooked to perfection. A few complaints would be that the appitizer portions were small and expensive for the amount that was given. Also, we don't go to many restaurants with a liquor license. BYOB's are much more affordable and it's hard when you know you are getting ripped off for a glass or a bottle.
11/29/2013 4:00:00 PM
A hidden gem
the food is imaginative yet classic Northern Italian cuisine. it is more than a cut above the typical Italian restaurants in South Philly. definitely worth going to.
