cute place with nice menu
cute place with nice menu we went with a party of 6..
We had the stuffed olives, parmigiana creme brulee, mussels and lamb skewer appetizers followed by the lamb, risotto, lasagna, pork , taglaiatelle.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, desserts were also good .
Overall it was a good find, not too expensive, portions were adequate but not as big as most main stream italian places.
We were confused by the name though, not sur eif it has chnages, it comes up on the i phone as IN vino not Perbacco but the in vino webiset has a completely different menu.

I've been here quite a few times, but not often in the past year. Seems the focus of their menu has changed (less small plates, more entrées), but the food remains excellent! (Maybe even better) And the service has improved. We started with the tuna appetizer (very satisfying) along with the yummy polenta (mushroom and truffle sauce was our fav) and the endive salad (fresh and tasty). My friend had the pork chops and I had the homemade spaghetti with roe and lemon zest. Both were delicious and beautifully plated. We had a carafe of the Montepulciano which was excellent and reasonably priced, and the coffee and dessert - Tiramisu - were the perfect ending to the meal. Overall an excellent experience at Perbacco this time!

Perbacco is primo.
This was the second year we travelled into NYC from LI to have an Easter dinner with family. Both times the food & service were well enjoyed by everyone there. The chocolate hamburger desert stands out as a unique & delicious item.
I highly recommend Perbacco.

I went to Perbacco last wednesday with my husband and my cousin. We choose the place because the menu offerred delicious dishes, a lot of variety and the place had a warm and friendly atmosphere. I can't complain about the food, at least mine and my cousin's dishes were excellent, she ordered gnochi with butter and sauted onions, it was lovely, and mine was a special spagetti I don't recall the name of the type of pasta, with a pesto sauce, also delicious. Unfortunately my husband didn't end up very happy with his plate because his lamb ribs were to small and it looked like not enough food for its price form the very first look of the plate. However the service was really great, the waiter was very friendly and nice!! Come but order pasta!

The menu had so many wonderful things on it that it was hard to choose. I was glad we were in a group so that we could get many starters so as to have a good overview. Everything was delicious.

We started with a shared creme brulee which, as always, is a Perbacco stunner. My guests had the aracini (amazing) and the zuchini which were reported to be fine. I had the honey-drizzled salad which was served with chopped walnuts, another winner.
For main courses my guests had the ravioli and the rosette pasta. The rosette pasta (with speck and a drizzle of truffle flavored sauce) is a perennial favorite of mine, and the mouthful I tasted was superb. I had the pork which was the only disappointment that night. On previous occasions it was moist and succulent but on this occasion it was a tad dry. It was a slight disappointment in an otherwise excellent night.
Perbacco remains one of my favorite restaurants in New York and I'll be back.

Words just don't do it justice...
I don't know what to say. This is hands down the best food we've had in NYC. Every time I eat here, I literally put my fork down after the first bite and think (often out loud), "How is this possible? This is amazing!" It's like I hate to take the next bite, because I don't want the meal to ever come to a close. The flavors they combine are just spectacular. Whoever is in the kitchen is a genius. Worth the drive no matter where you are in Manhattan...seriously. Wow.

We went to Perbacco upon reading a recommendation in a travel book, and we were not disappointed! The food was wonderful, the service great, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting on a rainy evening. The restaurant is small, but quiet and romantic, with candles providing a nice ambiance. The steamed beets stuffed with goat cheese were absolutely delicious, and the burrata was fresh and tasty. The homemade gnocchi melted in your mouth, and the lasagna Bolognese was just perfect. The espresso was the best we had in the city. There's so much more on the menu that we want to try, and we will definitely return on our next trip to NYC.

Emilia Romagna Neighborhood Gem
Our 4th trip to Perbacco. We keep returning to this small East Village spot for the homey feel, friendly service, reasonable prices and solid, original Emilia Romagna cuisine. The pasta dishes are the sweet spot on the menu but we also had success with the salmon and branzino. Wine list is limited but we still managed to find an excellent amarone at a fair price. We will go back many times, whenever we are looking for a casual, unpretentious, solid and reliable meal served with a smile.

Not your traditional Italian. But it will not disappoint. Food was incredible. All pasta is homemade!!

Good tasting food
We enjoyed our visit on 7/27/13 to this little Italian neighborhood restaurant in the East Village. It was very comfortable and casual and the staff were very accommodating. The appetizers (rice balls and parmiggiano-reggiano crème brulee) were fantastic and the two dishes we tried were tasty (ravioli and gnocchi). We also sampled two desserts (tiramisu and biscotti) which were nice. All in all, a very nice experience.

Have eaten here several times and it is consistently good. Fresh pasta, authentic ingredients, seems like a trip to Italy.

The food was delicious and the service was very good. The parmesan soufflé was fantastic. We will definitely visit the restaurant again.

Appetizers were exceptional tasty and well prepared and reasonably priced. Special red wine for the night was excellent. Main courses were good overall but a notch below the appetizers. Ice Cream and Sorbets very fine esp. the mint. Overall, quiet, good food reasonably priced.

Lovely, quiet spot
Went with a group of 5 on a Friday night. The place was quiet enough that we could have a conversation and the food and wine were excellent, with many options for different dietary restrictions.

excellent low key dining spot
We really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The food was super fresh and beautifully prepared. There were several unique and home made choices. THe service was very efficient and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. would definitely recommend this spot.

Could not ask for more from an East Village restaurant

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. We came to the neighborhood for an off, off Broadway theater performance. The food was excellent, service great and best of all...it was quiet. The ability to hear oneself talk is increasingly rare in NYC pared with good food. We will definitely return (from Brooklyn) -- even if we don't have other plans in the area. Highly recommend.
