Great food; so convenient to I-91
Leslie's has been around for nearly 30 years and my large and extended family has been dining there from the beginning. Went back recently for the first time in a couple of years, now that I am permanently back in the area and not just visiting family and was just as happy as ever! The food is excellent - reliably so; the menu is interesting and varied; the wine list is decent (not spectacular but definitely drinkable!); the dining rooms are so pleasant; and once I said whose daughter I am, I got a huge hug from Leslie! There were (regrettably) few diners while we were there so we got to chat at length with both Leslie and John (great chef!) at the end of the evening. This is definitely one of the better dining locations in the area. I like

Leslie's has been our go to
Leslie's has been our go to place for special occasions for many years. We have moved 2 hours away but still make an effort to dine here a couple of times a year. Never disappoints! Friendly service, great menu, fabulous meals.

Great Dining Experience
We went to Leslie's for Mothers Day dinner. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of choices. The service was reasonably fast and friendly. The restaurant was nearly full when we arrived, yet the noise level was not annoying.

foodie find, right off the highway
Tucked off Route 91 in southern Vermont, right when you are resigning yourself to fast food options, is Leslie's. Like an oasis for the thirsty, Leslie's serves up a short-but-awesome menu of meat, seafood and veggie options. Nice cocktail and wine list as well. That said, it's not perfect...the chef can have off dishes. A recent visit included obviously-frozen green beans as the side veg and my partner's lamb a tad underdone. Also, we were left idling for 45 minutes between appetizer and entree. But the service is pleasant, my duck special was top 3 ever, and the short rib appetizer was to die for. German chocolate cake simply divine. In a quaint, historical building, well worth a visit, especially when doing a long haul up or down 91.

Great restaurant in Bellows Falls
Leslie runs a great restaurant. It has wonderful ambiance, the food is super and the wine list works perfectly for the selections. There is also plenty of locally raised produce. Very nice!

Leslies is by far the best restauant in the area, followed by Peter Havens in Brattleboro and Burdicks in Walpole, imo. John and Leslie Marsden are total foodies. pay particular attention to John's specials. And the ambience is wonderfully condusive to good conversation.

Always A Treat
We love Leslie's!! John does an amazing job in the kitchen with everything made to order. Leslie greets, seats, and generally makes everyone feel right at home. The menu is changed often and we have never had less than a wonderful meal over many years. We no longer live nearby but make the 2 hour trek whenever we can.

We always make it a point to dine at Leslie's every year we are in the area. This year we went 2 nights in a row and brought friends with us the second time. Excellent food and very creative.

Our visit to this fine restaurant turned out to be better than we expected. The food was outstanding and the service was very friendly yet professional. The lobster bisque was the best we ever tasted. Having experienced that appetizer, it would be very difficult to continue to impress but the Filet Mignon was up to the challenge. It also was superb. All in all, I would definitely return to this restaurant the next time we are in the vicinity.

A Delicious Deja Vu
We thoroughly enjoyed our return to Leslie's Tavern after dining there on our honeymoon 9 years ago. Warmth and comfort greets you at the door, then magic comes out of their kitchen. Filet Mignon with wild mushrooms and lively shrimp over papardelle took our breath away. The chocolate creme brulee brought the house down. Salut!

Worth the drive!
We live an hour from Leslie's, I saw many positive reviews on various web sites. I decided to make the drive on my wife's birthday. We were not disappointed! It was as good or better than all the positive reviews stated. Fresh food, well prepared, fairly priced what more can you ask for? The menu is not large but there seems to be enough variety to satisfy every ones taste. Make sure to save room for desert. My only complaint is that we don't live closer. We are looking forward to making the trip again.

John and Leslie Marston, and their staff, are a phenomenal team serving the most decadent food. The entire menu is made fresh with the ingredients from many local vendors. The menu changes often offering different delicious treats not allowing you to become bored with their fare. If you are a Foodie this is a must.

Menu is limited. Could use a chicken dish or two and as well as more seafood offerings. There were no chicken dishes teh night we were there, and one seafood offering was sold out for our 7 PM reservation.

What a great spot! Leslie is a great host and amazing pastry chef, and John is a wonderful chef. The food is creative and delicious. Everything is cooked to order, so don't pick Leslie's if the most important thing about your meal is how short it lasts! But if you want great food at a moderate pace without spending too much, this is one of the best places in the area. We had a wonderful halibut special over a lemon pepper risotto, a delicious ragu over cheese tortellini and wonderful short ribs. The desert was also great. Highly recommended.

A place to return to
We loved our experience at Leslie's. Service was a bit slow, but the friendliness of our server and the quality of the food more than made up for it. Appetizers and main courses were fresh, tasty, creative, varied--some of the best food we've ever had. Located in an interesting old house, easy to get to on a main road. Definitely worth a return visit.

By far our favorite spot. We travel nearly 2 hours to get there and are never disappointed. Nice atmosphere, personal attention, and great food. John has a special touch with fish!

We were driving through the
We were driving through the area and decided to give Leslie's a try. Very nice country setting both inside and out. Our waitress was wonderful. Very friendly. The bread and herb butter absolutely delicious!! We had the soup which was also delicious. My date had the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly and very good. I had the ribeye steak which was also cooked perfectly but very fatty and unfortunately did not enjoy.
