A very easy introduction to
A very easy introduction to Moroccan food. For the newcomer, this restaurant makes it easy, as you use forks and not your hands/bread to feed yourself, and you sit on low banquettes instead of on mats. Our very efficient and patient waiter explained each step from the traditional wash bowl to the pouring of the mint tea. I would have liked the food to have more intense seasoning showing off the unique flavors of Morocco but the food was tasty and the little bowl of harissa was actually authentically intense and wonderfully hot. I had the preserved lemon chicken and it came in a metal tagine - I really would have liked them to have used a clay one - but I understand. My shrimp kabob was slightly overcooked, too. Oh, and bellydancers, too.

Took my 11 year old daughter
Took my 11 year old daughter here when my wife was busy with book club. She loves it here. Food is good and the kitschy stmosphere is always fun. Daughter danced with the belly dancer - great fun!

We arrived early for dinner and were the first ones there that evening. (Showing up before the kitchen and the wait staff get busy is always a benefit at any restaurant.) Service was friendly and efficient. The waiter brought hot water to the table for the traditional hand washing. My wife and I tried the lamb in honey and we both liked it very much. The belly dancer added to the ambiance. We plan to go back again. Be aware that the seating is very low but you are not actually sitting on the floor. I am over 6' and had to sit cross-legged. It's all part of the experience!

Great date night
My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night for a date, and had so much fun! The food was great, we loved the pastilla!! The green mint tea was awesome too. I got the honey lamb and he got the mixed kabobs, both of which were great. I danced with the belly dancer and the whole experience was just an all around fun and unique one. We were charged for a beer we didn't order, but just told the waiter and he took it off for us. No problems there. I would recommend it!!

Amazing atmosphere,food and service
The atmosphere is so cool. You feel like you're in Morocco. Tents, drapes - so cool. The tables are low to the ground and the seats are a bit weird at first, they're couches, but it is quite comfortable. The service is amazing. Friendly and helpful if you've never had Moroccan food. Went for my daughter's 15th birthday and she loved it. Start with lentil soup with lemon. Then their version of salad - yummy. The main dishes were so tasty and tender. Baklava for dessert was delicious. Then the belly dancer. My 11 year old got up and she gave her a quick lesson. Fun night. I would totally recommend this.
Also, if you want a romantic dinner without the kids, this is the place to go.

a little loud
A little loud for comfortable dinner conversation, but when asked they did turn the background music down so we could hear each other across the table. excellent food and drink. class A dining experience.

Great Moroccan Food
It has been a very long time since I had Moroccan food & I now wish I hadn't waited so long! I wanted to take my wife somewhere special and romantic for her visit to SoCal and found Marrakesh on OpenTable. It worked out very well! We had the honey lamb & my wife is going to try to make this at home it was so good. We had the lemon chicken & while it was good, the lamb ruled! The salad before the meal was very good and the baclava was to die for. We liked the decor and the ambiance. Will definitely go back when next in the area. Belly dancer was fun too!

Great Date Night
Marrakesh is the perfect restaurant for date night. Great food and service. Lovely romantic atmosphere.

From the live belly dancer and "tented" dining areas, Marrakesh is a great place for those interested in trying something different. Try the chef special which is a prix fixe selection with appetizers, main courses, and dessert. Food was well prepared and staff was friendly. We'll definitely go back.

Food was great and the service was even better. Everyone should come here at least once. Great for a romantic date or a fun group outing.

The atmosphere made this place extra special. Food was good. Belly dancer was so sweet! Would definitely return.

The food selection is not large, but what they make has awesome flavors. The belly dancer could be a little thinner.

The dinner and the atmosphere teleported me to morocco, and made me feel like I never want to leave.

A really nice dining experience
Here on vacation. Went on Monday night. Not crowded at all. Service was perfect we enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Found the restaurant by looking in open table. Had mixed reviews but we found it good and would go again. It's not the very best Moroccon food we have ever had but it is a great vue for the price and the good was tasty and well prepared.

Morrocan Food and Atmosphere!
We have had the opportunity to visit Morroco and were glad to find the Marrakesh to visit for the reminder of the great food we found in that country. We even bought our own tagines.
The tent decorated decor makes you feel like you are in Morroco and the belly dancer is so great to watch.
We found the wines from Morroco to be very good. Definitely a place to visit for a special occasion or when you may want food that is tasty and different. I would choose the Traditional for the best mixture of items for a party of 6 or more and plan to share the dishes.
