Special in Every Way
We came for my husband's 60th birthday and the staff knew that. They congratulated him and touched off the dinner with a custom dessert. (No tacky clapping and singing, just a nice understated welcoming touch) The three piece lamb entree was spectacular. The brussel sprouts and mac and cheese sides were awesome too. Wine list very nice and very fair pricing. Looking more like we will be back in 60 days!

gets better with repeat visits
My wife and I have been to Abattoir several times. Each time the staff was friendly, the food excellent, and the ambiance good.
My wife is a vegetarian, and of all the "fine dining" restaurants we have been to in the Atl, Abattoir, (ironically), has the best choices for her. I love the whimsey of the menu. The mixed mushrooms over bread was the highlight of my meal, and My wife was head over heels for the beet salad.

Will never disappoint.
I have been here twice. On both occassions, the service has been above and beyond what I ever expect. The food is always outstanding. I cannot stress how delicious this place is. The pricing is according to quality, so bare that in mind, it will be expensive. Nonetheless, with a full bar and an outstanding wine list, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. In addition to this, the menu constantly changes depending on what is available to the chef, which is my favorite aspect. You are always in for a small surprise, but its guaranteed to be absolutely delicious.

Outstanding food and service
Outstanding food and exceptional service. We were there for our anniversary celebration. The ambiance was eclectic as it is set up in an old industrial warehouse looking place. Highly recommended.

I took my boyfriend for his birthday dinner. I had read some reviews stating very slow service, but this was not the case at all. Our appetizers and starters came out just after the bread, and the entrees came while we were still picking at appetizers; great pacing. Overall, the food was fantastic. We tried 3 different starters, 2 entrees and 3 desserts. Everyone wished my boyfriend a happy birthday. Great experience, would return

Excellent Food, Cool Setting
We went to Abattoir for Tom's birthday dinner. The restaurant is a very unique setting- industrial, warehouse with large open spaces. Our server was a little slow to start but more than made up for it later on (he had a table when we first sat that seemed to be taking up an inordinate amount of his time). We had the Crab Fritter and Chicharonnes for starts. Both were excellent, though the Chicharonnes could be a meal within themselves. Tom had the Strip Steak with Pomme Frites and I had the Chicken Schnitzel. We also got the Pimento Flavored Cheese Foam to go with the fries. The food was all delicious and the cheese foam is addictive.
The restaurant was very quiet for a Friday evening...

Mac and cheese with a fried egg and bacon, I think I've died and gone to heaven! He had the NY strip, perfectly prepared, but I think I won with the ranch pork chop! Flavorful and juicy, perfection! Beef carpaccio as a starter was excellent! They change the menu frequently, maybe even daily, so everything is always fresh! I highly recommend!

No Need To Shout!
I can always count on a great meal at Abattoir. With the recent boom in new food spots opening in and around Atlanta, a lot of places leave me - well- "underwhelmed"! Abattoir is consistently good. They fuse in a little variety on the menu often enough to keep the regulars like me guessing, but don't shy away from the staples. This loyalty to menu favorites and little changes will keep even the snooty foodies happy and hungry bellies full. **And the best feature of all....round tables!! This might be the secret to their ability to keep the noise down. Nothing worse than 6 people yelling at each other across some huge table! These round tables make even a group of 4 or 6 really intimate. Well done Abattoir!

Great Meal With Sub Par Service
Came here as a group of 4, the food was fantastic. We all enjoyed our meals however the service was sub par. We are fairly quick eaters and the meal which consisted of just 2 appetizers and dinner took 2.5 hours. Between us asking for the check and finally getting it took about 40 minutes. We couldn't even find our server during this time. I would still recommend this restaurant, however make sure you are not in a hurry once you get here.

I love this restaurant. There are always new and innovative choices on the menu and a knowledgable staff. The manager Kara sets the tone of excellence. Dinner here is always a pleasure.

Great service, quality food
We had a great meal catching up with another couple at Abattoir! We dined early on a Saturday evening, so it wasn't crowded. Even if every table would have been full, the layout allows plenty of space - no rubbing elbows with other diners.
Our starters of heirloom tomato salad and the octopus in rich, spicy tomato broth were both delicious, as were all four entrees our table ordered.
But, by far the best part of the experience was our server. He was attentive without being pushy. Just right.

Great Food better service
We all know that dining out is about more than just the food, and this place knows that as well. The food was outstanding, (make sure you get the Mac N cheese with Egg and Bacon Jam!!!! The beer list is great but heavily skewed towards IPA's. The manager is a total rock star! She was attentive (as much as the wait staff), and she really cared about us and our experience!

Much improved. Congrats to new chef
I had not been here in years and tried it because of the new chef. the menu is more diverse and a nice selection of vegetarian items. Everything we tasted was delicious - hummus , duck, vegetable plate, macaroni and cheese, blueberry tart. We didn't like the avocado ice cream but hey it was worth a try.

Abbatoir just changed a little
Abbatoir just changed a little bit the menu and the Cheff, it makes Abbatoir. Better!! Really flavory, tasted.

The "O" face
It's been a while since I had a dining experience outside of my own kitchen that has made my eyes roll back in my head. After the first bite of my juicy, perfectly grilled pork chop, I thought of my favorite movie "Office Space" and the "O" face scene. The succotash reminded me of the fresh veggies that came from my mother's garden in Alabama. My sweetie pie got the macaroni and cheese as a side without the egg and bacon jam. It was creamy and cheesy the way it's supposed to be. The ribeye was delicious as well. The presentation threw me for a loop because it was sliced. Thankfully it was still juicy and flavorful. The monkey bread could have used a little more oooey gooey but it worked well with the blackberry ice milk. O-O-O-O!

My wife and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary at Abattoir. The hostess and waiter really went the extra mile to make our dinning experience special. The pre-requested glasses of champaign set the night off to a good start. The appetizers were amazing, especially the crab fritter and the beef carpaccio; the main course was very tasty; and the desserts were delightful. The rustic but modern decor was perfect for our romantic occasion. This restaurant definitely surpassed my expectations. I can't wait to dine here again - and I will sure that it won't be too long before we are back.

Great food but loud and very fast
Every bit of the food and drink we ordered was great. However, despite reservations, we opted to sit at the bar so we could sit close and actually hear each other (it was so loud in there). Also, we were no in any rush so we ordered each item one at a time. Good thing because everything came out within minutes of ordering! If you want to enjoy a slow dinner, I recommend ordering slowly.
We had a drink off their menu -- it was gin with cucumber, cilantro and jalapeño -- I want to go back just for that drink!

We sat outside because the inside was noisy and freezing cold. Outside it was quiet, although the ambiance is less nice (more rustic, with long picnic tables). The food was excellent and the service was very attentive, but perhaps too much so. We had several people coming-by almost every other minute to ask about ordering... Normally one waiter is enough. It was a continued interruption and we felt pressed to order and move along... even though the restaurant was almost empty and there was no need to free-up our table. They kept asking if they could remove our plates when we were not yet finished, and in the end they did remove a side dish that my husband was still working on. But despite these inconveniences, we enjoyed our dinner.

The current state of Abattoir
Abattoir has a nice summer menu going right now. Sadly, they have removed most, if not all of the offal from the menu. The food is still creative, but the restaurant seems to have lost a bit of its punch. Even with that said, Abattoir is an outstanding value with excellent food and we will continue to keep it on our rotation. We had very good service, the biggest drawback to us is the noise level inside the restaurant. The noise level is amplified if you are seated near a wall.

Food poor, service great
My entrée, the fish with eggplant was served at room temperature and over salted. Portions were very small for the high price. The server was excellent and the décor very nice. The bread and butter were good. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not return.

take a trip around the menu
the menu was very good and I heard it's a good place to explore. there are some pretty non-standard dishes, so we had asked the waiter before every order. he took plenty of time to explain everything and it really helped. we mostly ordered off the left side of the menu. I'll rate what we ordered on a scale of 1-10.
Heirloom tomato - 7
beets - 8
crab fritter - 10
octopus - 9
duck confit - 10
blood sausage - 8
Everything was very good but the duck confit and crab fritter stood out.
If your adventurous, ask for the butchers menu and they'll have a few additional non-standard items off the menu.

Hector Santiago = Great addition
Food was amazing with Hector Santiago at the helm. I've always loved Abattoir, and while the menu has gotten more tame and approachable over the years (which is not necessarily a good thing, from my perspective), the food continues to impress. Cocktails on the list always tend to be a little too sweet for my taste, and service is attentive but somewhat fake and impersonal. All things considered, though, Abattoir is an awesome restaurant.

Maybe the best meal I've ever had.
My wife and I were looking for a place to eat on our anniversary, some place with great food but not someplace too stuffy. This fit the bill perfectly. The food was outstanding. I had the Georgia trout; my wife had the chicken strudel. Both were unexpectedly full of flavor. Also try the arugula salad with grilled lemon dressing and the grilled okra. In short, everything we had here was great, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place highly to anyone.

Butcher menu is the true gem.
It was our 4th visit to Abattoir in about 2 years. As before, Abattoir did not disappoint, but for a moment we thought it turned mainstream when we didn't see their signature non-traditional meat cuts on the menu. After asking a server about what's happened, we found out that although main dinner menu has gone kind of mainstream, there is still a special Butcher menu (brought upon request), with good stuff. We went for three out of four butcher menu items, and they were so good that after we were done with them we ordered another round. We had a sardine, blood sausage and chicken gizzards - all supremely delicious.
Ambiance got 4 starts for an occasional whiff of a dumpster smell (we sat outside). Also, outside is quieter than insider.

Less daring menu
We enjoyed our experience. Not quite the same with the new chef, but definately worth a visit. Service (Rick) was outstanding. Missed some of the "old" signature dishes it was known for. Still one of our favorites n Atlanta.

Abattoir is the Real Deal !!
There are others in Atlanta that try real hard to look like, sound like and taste like. But why bother when you can go to the real deal?
Anne Quatrano & Clifford Harrison really know what they are doing. The place is exactly what it should be, the attention to detail is everywhere. So much thought has obviously been put into everything that you come in contact with. From the moment you are greeted at the front door, the bar staff, our waiter who could not have been nicer and answered every question to the fullest detail possible. The addition of new chef Hector Santiago is wonderful, with great latin hints to the already stellar cuisine.

A Better Abattoir is Hard to Find
We visited this restaurant twice in the last three weeks and found the food excellent, the service outstanding and the atmosphere comfortable despite the austere setting. We had tasty crab fritters and an even tastier charcuterie for starters on the first visit and the prime bone-in rib chop, the magret duck, the chimichurri strip and the pork chop -- all of which were great. If yo uare hungry, the sides are delicious. I intend to go again soon!

Wonderful meal & ambience
All of our appetizers and entrees were wonderful, and sensibly portioned. Service was very good. The most pleasant surprise was the lack of noise throughout the main dining room, allowing for a relaxing meal & conversation.

Have waited way to long to
Have waited way to long to try Abattoir. And we should have gone sooner. The food was so different and every taste a beautiful treat. The wine list well complimented the food. And for a change the tables were set at a roomy distance from one another so you could enjoy the lovely large space. Service outstanding. Friendly, efficient and excellent recommendations on and off the menu. It will become a regular for us.

delicious and different
Abbatoir seems to always offer a twist on food items that consistently are a pleasant and delicious surprise. A good selection of vegetable, meat and fish in small and large plates provides a variety for all tastes. This time there was an offering of organ meat that was well prepared and delicious even for the palette only familiar with the normal beef and chicken. The lamb heart was tender and mild, much like filet migon, and the blood sausage spicy and satisfying. The octopus was tender, wonderfully grilled, and seasoned. I appreciate the effort to make dessert from blood sausage, but the taste seemed non descrip. However the texture was decadently rich. I always enjoy another visit to Abbatoir to see what turns up next on the menu.

Delicious but Slow
Food was phenomenal, and staff were very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. However, the kitchen was VERY slow - we waited half an hour for our main course AFTER the apps were cleared. Our waiter was apologetic, but couldn't do much about it.
