Great spot for a romantic dinner
Love the new menu, with some favorites like the lamb, goat cheese, and fig burger remaining. The vegetarian entree with eggplant, shisito peppers and grain salad was a delight. Service was prompt, attentive and pleasant. Overall a big improvement.
Worth the trip up the hill!

The food was very good. decent local beer selection (always a plus). Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Our only regret was not requestion patio seating while making the reservation. Made for a great date night.

We knew the menu had changed.
We have dined at the Rookwood several times in the past but not since the new chef and menu were introduced. We wanted to try the items on the Large Plate section to see what the changes have been. My husband enjoyed the pork chop and I was ok with the pasta special. The food combinations are very creative and I need to be comfortable with this creativity.
Our server's suggestion for beer were great and we loved the Key Lime pie for dessert.

Would go back!
We here for lunch during a Anniversary weekend in Cincy. I over planned the day and put lunch too close to breakfast. We weren't exactly starving at the time. That said, I got the grilled cheese of the day with tomato soup and my wife got the beet salad with ahi tuna. I was hoping for a better cheese than just cheddar, but was still satisfied with the meal. My wife was more than satisfied with her salad. She stated that if we lived close to here, it would be difficult to try anything else on the menu knowing that salad was an option. The beer selection was nice too and the wait staff was decently educated in the beer being served. Definitely adequate for your typical beer drinker who likes to step outside the world of Bud,Miller,Coors.

Fun night, nice breeze out
Fun night, nice breeze out on the deck, just a few steps across parking lot to the river view, very nice! Yummy mac 'n cheese, always good burgers, we had a great time! Waiter was excellent.

This was a fun place with
This was a fun place with a great menu, delicious food and excellent service. Our server was very knowledgeable, she new all of the ingredients that went into the dishes and offered spot-on recommendations, we loved her! I wish I could remember her name so I could give her a shout out. Anyhow, we loved the historic rookwood pottery building that the restaurant is located in, they repurposed it in really smart ways. I was with my husband and two of our friends and we all loved everything we ordered. My husband and I shared the bruschetta of the day with bleu cheese, which was really, really good, and I had the pasta of the day, which had shrimp, chorizo, vegetables and a white wine tomato sauce. A good place for foodies to bring the kids!

Great ambiance and experience!
My co-worker told me about The Rookwood, but we only ended up here when another option was booked, and boy were we glad! The ambiance is really interesting, being a historic pottery manufacturing facility. The lighting is good (not too dim, not too bright). The service was great. The food choice was interesting (some of the items had odd content, like bone marrow and duck fat). And the view outside from the back porch or rear parking lot was absolutely incredible!
We had bruschetta for an appetizer (tasted phenomenal), a salad after that (again, very good), then we split the pasta of the day, which contained loads of vegetables, tuna meatballs, and a very good flavored red sauce. This was one of our favorite dining experiences ever!
6/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Eat here NOW!
If you can't find something on the menu here to eat, go to your mom's. Great food, innovative and delicious. Beer selection is almost better than my fridge. Service was great, no complaints about anything. Reserve one of the kiln rooms for an intimate gathering of friends, you'll be back.

great for lunch
We went at lunch and the food was great, our waitress was very nice and right there for us.

A great dining experience
With their new menu, we are definitely coming back. We shared various small plates, from the roasted peppers to the corn on the cob. The House Salad was amazing as was the chicken and the hanky panky. We enjoyed the local beer selection and a unique menu of after dinner liquors. A great experience

Entertaining- great food
Rookwood is always a great dining /drinking spot- unique setting - great views-- menu is always interesting- not typical seafood & steak-- great tastes!

So much fun!
We went with a group of 8 people. We sat on the deck and it was a beautiful night. Our server was fabulous! She figured out which couples were together and automatically split up the checks. My husband and I shared a few dishes and they came out of the kitchen plated individually. What a nice detail! Everyone loved their food. Our lamb burger and my friend's pork belly sandwich were stand outs as was the bread pudding. It was a lovely evening.
7/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were greatly promptly upon arrival and escorted to our seats. The food was delicious and the ambiance was unique. Will definitely go back.

Amazing Anniversary Meal
I went here with my wife on our second anniversary and we could not have been more pleased with the restaurant. My wife is a Vegetarian and there was a wonderful menu just for her while not taking away from the carnivores among us. Peach glazed ribs were out of this world. The only complaint that I had was that it was very very cold because I was sitting under a vent. It is a bit cramped but I liked it like that, although we could hear everything our noisy neighbors had to say. The service was great and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an upscale dinner.
8/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
casual good food
This place is very casual. Very cool interior, but evening was nice and we sat outside at bar. Good lamb burger and great cocktails. Good place to hang out, but not romantic.
8/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had brunch this past Sunday and it was fabulous! My kids loved the pancakes. The side of fruit was a gorgeous bowl of fresh berries and the veggie burger was one of the best I have ever had. We sat on the deck and it was great.
8/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was the perfect place for a date night. The food was delicious, the beer was cold, and the scenery was amazing. I'll definitely be returning to The Rookwood Bar & Restaurant again and again. I loved it!

Great Restaurant -Beautiful Scenery
We enjoyed a lovely al fresco lunch looking out across the distant scenery. Very nice inside as well. Old pottery kilns are now round rooms for sitting and talking and relaxing as a group. Great bar area. Outside entry had lovely flowers leading up to the stairs. Fast, friendly and efficient service. Limited menu but fine for lunch.

daughter and roommate w/ parents
we wanted a unique historic venue with good food and wine and found all in a beautiful setting with a phenomenal view. service was friendly and informative and the bruschetta, pasta, burgers and wine were all wonderful. a unique place to take people to experience a piece of Cincinnati history with an unbeatable view of downtown and the Ohio river from the Ohio side, in the quant urban neighborhood of Mount Adams. Just a beautiful evening where the setting was unparalleled and the food was very good with a fairly good variety and affordable. will go there again when we are visiting Cincinnati. Thanks!

We loved Rookwood- can't wait to return. The food was ah-mazing and service top-notch. Great atmosphere as well.

Great Bar Staff
We asked if the bartender could whip up one of his personal favorites using some bitters. He knew a great recipe for s unique summer beverage for us. Also knew the menu very well and had a great knowledge of the flavors of beer on tap. Very cool place.

The Rookwood will stimulate each of your senses and prove to be a wonderful evening out!!

An Arts & Crafts Gem
This former home of the Rookwood art pottery factory which retains much of the best of the original interior, including a couple of the giant brick kilns, is an architectural Arts and Crafts gem. The quality of the food and the care in its preparation make it a culinary arts and crafts gem as well. My companion shared a taste of the lamb and fig burger with a side of duck fat fries, which was delectable. I had the pastrami sandwich, with house-made giardinera, accompanied by truffle fries -- also scrumptious. We washed everything down with selections from their extensive and interesting beer list. Then we topped it off with dessert -- chocolate pudding cake and bread pudding, respectively, Both were sweet -- but not overly so -- and subtle.

LUNCH AT ROOKWOOD
MY BOOKCLUB MET AT THE ROOKWOOD. SINCE IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY, WE SAT OUTSIDE ON THE DECK. THE SERVING STAFF WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND PATIENT WITH A LARGER GROUP. OUR MEMBERS WERE QUITE POSITIVE ABOUT THE LUNCHEON SALADS AND MY QUICHE WAS NICELY PREPARED WITH A SIDE SALAD. THE MENU ALSO HAD SANDWICHES AND OTHER NICE LUNCH CHOICES. WILL RETURN.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Let's do this again!!!
We really enjoyed our Brunch. The food was good, service was great and the cost was very reasonable. Hope to go there soon in the future.

Good dining in Unique Environment
Really enjoyed the unique dining environment being in an adaptive pottery facility. After starting out with cocktails and a very tasty gumbo, the attentive service staff provided our tasty burgers and fries.

Rookwood was a beautiful spot for a great dinner before the theater. The outdoor terrace had a wonderful view with a great breeze combined with fantastic service and good food. The servers were aware of the time limitations and had not only our drinks out in time, but also our food out with time to spare. I would recommend the Rookwood Bar and Restaurant not only for before a show, but also for the food, music and ambiance anytime.
10/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Wonderful, as always
The Rookwood is always a go-to place for special occasions for me, and I love introducing my friends to it. The service is always spectacular and friendly, the atmosphere is lovely and cordial, and the food has never disappointed me. I chose the Grilled Japanese Eggplant, which I would definitely recommend. Of course, the view of the city is not one to miss. This is safely one of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
The restaurant was quiet on
The restaurant was quiet on the Wednesday night we went. The burgers were excellent, as was the grilled eggplant entree. They went out of their way to make sure the young child in our group got her food quickly! The atmosphere was very nice; an interesting place with all the old kilns incorporated intot he interior design, and the swings on the porch.
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was amazing! I recommend the beet salad and I got the pasta special that was incredible! I went for a date night with my boyfriend and it was a beautiful night to sit out on their patio deck. The restaurant has a beautiful view overlooking downtown Cincinnati.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
A piece of Cincinnati history.
Don't miss out, it's a step above what has been there in the past!
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Four of us went out to dinner for a friend's birthday, and decided to try the "new" Rookwood yet. The food was great, I had the pork belly sandwich, another friend had the lamb burger and the other two had regular burgers. The pork belly was freakin' awesome!! I told my husband he has to come back with me sometime to split it! We also split the bread pudding for dessert and loved it. We sat in one of the old kilns which could have seated probably up to 8 people with plenty of room. The server was great too, really enjoyed it!
10/23/2013 5:00:00 PM
The food was pretty good, although not what we were expecting. The service was stellar, Samantha was great.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Dinner was long due not to having to wait for food, but for waiting for AAA to unlock our car, as my neice locked the keys in it. We were preoccupied with the tow truck coming so didn't get the best dining experience because of that. Had nothing to do with the excellent service from Joe? I think it was. He was an excellent server. The food was very good. Chili tasty. Burger delicious. Fries a bit done/burnt tasting so neice didn't eat them. Mushroom/sweet pea dish was delish. Will definately return!
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our family enjoyed a night in Mt Adams at rookwood. We live in the suburbs so it's somewhat atypical for us to travel to Mount Adams. We were pleased we did so as the Rookwood is a unique spot for dinner. My son left his burger and we loved the crafted cocktails. My has been especially liked the Grippo barbecue spicy fries. Wish they served Graeters for dessert though.
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Awesome birthday dinner!
My husband and I are foodies and I booked at the Rookwood because I wanted to surprise my husband for his bday since we were already going to be in town for a concert. He loved the view, the ambiance, the wine, the food...he loved it all!
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM

The food was fantastic and our server, Sally, was helpful and attentive. The food is creatively prepared. The burger with caramelized onions was amazing and the pastrami was fantastic. Make sure to get the chocolate pudding cake for dessert!
10/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went to brunch last Sunday and everyone (adults and kids) had something delicious, pretty hearty, and all special requests were taken with no issue. We have always had great food and service here, interesting choices, and nice handmade cocktails. Our server was super attentive.

Was looking forward to having
Was looking forward to having some lamb for dinner and the Rookwood did fit the bill. Not only was the Lamb Meatballs and the Lamb and Fig Burger delicious...we decided that we would be coming back. The two selection for our dinner were superb. Couldn't have asked for a better place for what we were looking for!
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Very fun way to spend an evening!
We loved every minute of our dining experience! The staff was wonderful as well as the food. Thank you! Lynn

A Cincinnati Favorite
I love visiting The Rookwood when I'm in Cincinnati. Delicious food, gorgeous location, and comfortable, low key atmosphere. I almost always get the Pork Belly Sandwich, although all the offerings I've tried have been fantastic. I took my boyfriend to dinner at the Rookwood on Friday, 11-8-13 for his first visit. He was still talking about the delicious Boomer Burger the next day, and he loved the experience.

Rookwood-will definitely go back
We really enjoyed our evening here. We started with a drink at the bar while we waited for our friends. The bartenders were great. Very helpful with drink ideas. The drinks were generous and beers were reasonably priced. The wines by the bottle overpriced. When our friends arrived we were seated at a table. The ambiance is very nice. Very cool looking place.
We decided to order smaller items to share. We ordered a couple spring salads, the Bruschetta, Roasted Wagyu Bone Marrow, Lamb Meatballs (4 reg size meatballs), and a couple Dojo Gelato samplers. Everything was excellent and extremely tasty! I probably would not order the bone marrow dish again, not that it wasn't good-it was, just not a good value in my opinion.

Fantastic for brunch
We gave Rookwood another try after a disappointing experience last year, and we are glad we did. The brunch menu was creative and diverse, with choices ranging from omelettes to burgers and salads. We had the veggie wheatberry burger which was excellent. Highly recommend the truffle fries! The arugula and goat cheese salad was also very good, if decidedly light on beets given its description as "heirloom beets". It was mostly arugula with delicious tiny bits of beet, spiced almond, goat cheese and pickled shallots.
Overall, a delicious brunch in a unique historic setting.
