The Baldpate Inn:
What a great place for any occasion! It is our favorite place for a fun evening. We brought our guests from Florida and will have to include it every time they visit as we all enjoyed the evening!

Baldpate Inn Buffet
This was a delightful soup and salad buffet for either lunch or dinner, with additional items of several breads, corn bread muffins and incredible pies for dessert. Specialty salads are included on different days. Everything is home made. You will definitely be more than full when you leave. We were there on Sunday around 12:30 PM. Service was wonderful; views were fabulous. We will definitely return.

Unique. gorgeous view.
Rustic as can be. A mountain lodge, built in 1917, says it all. The food is simple and creative: soups, salads, and muffins. The jicama salad is absolutely wonderful. Others are just as great - or not. We'll return for the view and the atmosphere, but since the food choices are limited our culinary expectations won't be high. Wait staff is out-of-state-summer-help and untrained, but the food itself is self-service anyway. Prices ($15) are a little high for the quality and selection, but considering location, about what you might expect. (A non-chain burger in Estes Park runs $9.95.) It's also all-you-can-eat, so by the time you add the $6 slice of pie you may be taking part of that home in a box. The pies are good too, just nothing special.

Historic place, great food
The Baldpate Inn is one of my favorite places to eat dinner for special informal occasions. The salad bar and soups are delicious and the homemade pies amazing. It can be hot inside due to the older nature of the building (1917) and fixed windows (although it had been 100 degrees when we visited) but other than that it was great. The dining room faces the forested mountains and is gorgeous. Wait staff appear to be high school/college age kids which were a little slow on getting folks seated, but it looked like they were learning the ropes and it was busy. If you are looking for a mellow, rustic dining experience with simple but good food, this is the place to go.

Great view and ambience
Historic Inn with a great view of the Estes Valley. Cream of mushroom soup was out of this world good!

Baldpate Inn...a pleasant find.
This restaurant is basically a salad bar with a couple of good soups. That being said, it was a pleasant dinner. The ambience made the experience. Build in about 1925 or so, the building is a gem. And the view was great. Add to that the time in the 'Key Room' and our experience was a lot of fun. Even though it rained a ton we got a sensational double rainbow, which added to the overall experience. Bon appetite!

The Baldpate is an annual favorite for me and friends. Estes Park is a beautiful area and the views from the front porch of the Baldpate are breathtaking! The food is always delicious - great for brunch. Be sure to have the cornbread and a piece of homemade pie!

The Baldpate Inn is a truly
The Baldpate Inn is a truly unique and wonderful place. From the historic lodge itself, to the views from the porch, and the very scrumptious food, it provides a chance to disconnect and almost travel back in time to when life moved at a slower pace. I was first introduced to the Baldpate back in 1995 and every visit has been wonderful. We even had our rehearsal dinner here in 2010, which was perfect for us and our family and friends. On our most recent visit we had a beef stew that was hearty and absolutely wonderful - esp. when paired with the cornbread. We will definitely go back when we are in the area and would highly recommend others go as well.

Great food and service!
Peter was our server. He was very helpful, friendly and professional. We liked Peter. The food was GREAT too. The salads were wonderful. It would have been good to have a little sign designating the flavor of the muffins. The one I chose was sweet, when I would have preferred savory. (The sweet one was yummy though.) I would have chosen the sliced bread, but it wasn't cut. We were seated by a window and loved the view and the humming birds. We're local, and plan to return. Although, when we do, we will try a time that's not so busy. There was a table with a family, including children, next to our table. It wasn't a problem until someone wanted to walk between the tables, or we wanted to go to/from our table.

We love to visit the Baldpate once a year for a special, relaxing meal. Great get away and view!

The atmosphere is nice, pretty setting and open views from dining area. The salad and soup are very good, nice selection. I would recommend, however, that for the price of the buffet, coffee/tea and dessert should be included.
