A must go!
Give yourself a treat and go. You do need a bit of a foodie to enjoy this gem, several of the dishes are not your standard food fare. But the quality is great!

Go to Paggi House!!
I'm a loyal fan of Paggi House. Their food is consistently great. The service is personal and professional. The location rocks. the decor is fabulous. I don't know why the place is not consistently packed, but it should be.
I am a huge foodie and this is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Austin.
Thank you Paggi House. Excellent job!!!

10th Anniversary dinner
Our waitress Lauren was informative, and professional. Even gave us some wine tips for our upcoming trip to Oregon. Food was outstanding. We had Lamb and Grouper, both were fixed to profession. Love the intimate setting. Only issue was a loud table next to us with a gentleman that was texting. Ding Ding - really? Wish folks would be more considerate. Vibrate the phone and the whole restaurant does not have to endure.

The service was awesome. Our waiter was great at explaining wines and the various dishes. It was great to sit outside and enjoy the evening.

New Favorite ATX Restaurant
Paggi House has been in business for years, but we had never tried it. The menu is simple, but varied. The service, from advice on cocktails and wine, to expert timing on serving and clearing courses, was impeccable. And the food was simply delicious.

My first time at Paggi House will not be my last. The server was incredibly enjoyable. He was knowledgeable and his demeanor made me want him to stick around and tell us more about the food even after he explained the specials and menu.
I asked for a recommended cocktail and he brought a delightfully, refreshing and light mojito. It was crisp and sweet with coconut water and cilantro.
My wife and each tried a small plate and split their special for the day. The halibut was cooked perfectly with a crust and sear on the top and the rest fell apart and was juicy with flavor.
We dined peacefully even outdoors in the Texas heat while we watched as the chef picked fresh herbs from their garden!
8/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was very good, but way over priced. $60 for breakfast , not including tip or a tip for valet parking, is a little outragous. That price didn't even include coffee or juice. I actually felt ripped off when I left. I won't be back.
8/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
Waiter was amazing and helped up select the perfect menu items. All were delicious!! Drinks, too!

I've often visited Paggi House
I've often visited Paggi House for their wonderful happy hour, which unfortunately is not offered to the in-restaurant diners. Boo! But the food is still excellent and the cocktails are divine--even at full price. This is a place you can enjoy when splurging (sit-down dining in their quaint dining rooms) or on a budget (generous happy hour with delicious snacking options).

Pros: Food tasted wonderful and was artfully presented. Service was outstanding.
Cons: Portions too small and overpriced.
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is my second visit recently, but I had lunch there frequently years ago, when I was still working. I've always loved it, but it's better than ever now. Very creative drinks and food items. Every morsel a taste treat. Good service and attention. The last time I was there, there was party of women celebration something, and it was very loud; it would have been nice to be seated elsewhere. However, this last time, it was serene and conversation-friendly. Love this place.
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were here for brunch. The food was delicious and not your typical brunch fair. The taste combinations were delightfully complex with options and modifications available to suit our diet restrictions. The service was excellent.

Dining at the Paggi House
Table clothes and fine food. It doesn't get much better than this! The cast iron mushrooms with a mascarpone stuffed squash blossom and baked oysters with sliced truffle were a fantastic starter to our meal! We all opted for the Chef's special of medium rare seared sliced Wagyu beef with sliced roasted figs on top of a salsa verde. Out of this world!

Great place but too pricey
The restaurant location is great. It has a nice view when you are dining outside. The food is delicious but a little bit too salty for me. As for the price, even cut in half, I still think it is too expensive.
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
great drinking and dining
Paggi House Well and Restaurant have outstanding variety drink menu, great fun appetizers and wonderful food. Everyone's meal was good and enjoyed. Service top-notch, could not be better. Love the combo settings of old and new, indoors and outdoors, formal and informal -- blends together nicely. They provide a wonderful night-out experience.

There is are several reasons this restaurant has been successful for so long. The food preparation and presentation are truly impressive. The staff is treats you like royalty. The location is an escape from the loud and pretentious. They have produced inspired cuisine for over thirty years. This restaurant is truly an Austin treasure.

Great cocktails and service!
There is a nicely shaded outdoor patio, a segmented indoor restaurant area, and a bar area inside. The cocktail menu was phenomenal. My wife had the mojito and loved it as it was made with coconut water and cilantro which was an interesting and refreshing combination. I had the Aviation, which was also well put together. We didn't have any wine, but there was a sommelier that was knowledgable not only about the wines, but also the various cocktails. There was a happy hour with 50% off all drinks if you are in the bar or lounge area making them very reasonable prices as they are normally ~$10 cocktails. The dinner was outstanding. I had the braised short ribs which melted in my mouth and my wife's grouper was also exquisite. Great experience

Frequent Austin Diner
Food and service are always very good, portions seem to be getting smaller as are the glasses of wine. Recommend this as an occasional place to eat not sure the size of the portions matches the price for Austin.
9/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was great but prices
Food was great but prices have gone up since the last time I was there. The amount of food and caliber of restaurant does not match up with the overpriced menu.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Will go back
Paggi lived up to its reputation! Food was excellent and the portions were more than sufficient. Service was great. Prices are not for the budget conscious diners, but they were not unreasonable for the quality of the food.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
My wife and I visited this restaurant for our 33rd anniversary based on reviews and on-line menu. We were not disappointed. The food was superb and service very good. We liked the intimate ambiance of the place and the extensive (although pricey) wine list. Great place for a romantic dinner. Prepare to be delighted by the offerings. For appetizers I had the foie grass and my wife the gazpacho soup; both were excellent. For diner I selected the scallops and they were succulent and prepared just right, a real delight. My wife ordered the fish and was not disappointed. We had the cheese selection for dessert, served with honey and house-made jam. We left the place vowing to return. A little on the expensive side but definitely worth it!
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
The menu is on the small side, but sinfully good! Delicious drinks to match and all in an incredible setting. We got the Roy ??? - Foie Gras, chicken fried egg and the Steak & Eggs, the mushrooms and the beet salad. Would order every day! The fresh Bellini and Bloody Mary were perfect too!
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Outstanding food and attentive service. We sat outside and had a lovely meal.

We loved Paggi house. We loved
We loved Paggi house. We loved our server, Lauren. She was very personable and friendly. She made great suggestions. The food was divine.

Best lamb EVER
From the complimentary valet to the coffee crime brûlée this place was amazing from start to finish our waiter was attentive and enthusiastic about both the food and cocktail list and him and the excellent food helped create a unforgettable experience a MUST go for lamb lovers!
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Well trained, high qualified staff regarding food and drink offerings.
We have been there as a table for two and as hosts for a party of 36, and we're equally please and impressed on both occasions.
At the party, they were proactive with providing food for young children during the cocktail hour, and accommodated special food restrictions (vegan and vegetarian) with fabulous and delicious choices.
High end dining and service at its best!
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a wonderful pre-theater dinner. Prompt service and wonderful food.
We'll be back!
10/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Will be back
Lamb was cooked perfectly, cocktail was yummy and dessert was great portion to end the night
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Paggi House is as good as any place in New York or San Francisco.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food, decent service
The food was outstanding. The service was just OK. We skipped desert because the waiter took so much time after he handed us the desert menu until he finally came back by, we were just ready to go.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
The brunch was delicious and the bar menu is unique. I hope to return soon.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We started off at the bar, which honestly wasn't the best bar experience. We moved to indoor seating and everything changed. The food was amazing. The staff was great, our server Chris was attentive to our dining experience and wasn't overbearing, it was just right. The atmosphere was quaint, could be romantic, however great for groups as well. There was always someone ready to answer questions or take care if us. As industry workers, we wanted to be taken care of instead of us doing the taking care of, and we found a spot that was just what we were looking for! As a group we felt as if we were the only people there. Hands down to the service, food and atmosphere it was great.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Insanely Expensive for what you get
I ordered scallops and they served 3 small scallops, with 10 pieces of popcorn and 3 pears slices for $40
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Three of the four of us ordered the red snapper, which was very good. However, all three questioned the presentation, which included an eight-in hollowed-out beef bone, with an unknown filling. Since one of the three doesn't eat beef, and the other two questioned whether or not they wanted to eat whatever was inside the bone cavity, all three diners left the bone untouched. If a fish dish is to include a meat accompaniment, it seems that it should be noted in the menu description of the fish dish so that the diner can ask to have it left off the plate, if they so choose.
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was our second time to Paggi House, first time for dinner and it was absolutely incredible. Everything from the small plates to the dessert was perfect and delicious. We were very impressed and will be back!
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great except for the music
This has always been an outstanding romantic place for dinner. They have a bar in the inner courtyard and for the first time since Ive been there they had a DJ playing music. While it wasn't overly loud it was enough to be audible in the main room especially when anyone opened the door to the courtyard. Everything else was great but the distracting music lowered the ambience score from great to so-so.

We've tried a lot of higher end restaurants and most we leave disappointed in the experience for what we paid. With the advent of on-line coupon opportunities, it saves us a little bit, but our bill is often still hefty because we are more inclined to try more things off the menu.I'm sure the restaurant doesn't lose any money off us.We had the mushroom appetizer, the lamb, and the off-menu antelope. All were magnificently prepared and met every taste expectation that we had.Another table complained about the mushroom appetizer being too salty and the server happily returned the dish and gave them a less salty version.Service was very personable and attentive. Nearby music festival marred an otherwise great experience with booming bass noise.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
We enjoyed ourselves very much...The food portions are small however quite sufficient! Beautiful presentation as well...
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
Cute for outdoor dining (especially Sunday brunch) , although you can't really get a view of the downtown as some claimed . However, you can take a walk along the lake after brunch, since it is very close by. :)
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
Went here with a few friends for my 32nd birthday, and, wow, the food was amazing!! It was a bit more quiet than I prefer in the dining room, but it was a Monday night and most of the folks were at the bar. Although, it did seem like the noise from the bar was well managed behind doors, but you could still see through to the action happening. I would recommend sitting outside on a nice night- looked absolutely beautiful on the deck.

Great Eats, Upscale Environment
My girlfriend and I went here for a foodie date night. I was impressed by the cocktails, specifically the Ginger Twist. I had the kimchi pork belly, which was a lovely combination of savory and creamy flavors. It's a fairly small portion, but a great creation. My girlfriend had the beet risotto - it had a warm comfort food vibe, and was enough to take home a portion. For dessert we had cappuccinos and the 2-for-1 special, which was PHENOMENAL. The balance of caramel, ice cream, fruit, and cake is a scrumptious finish to a well-designed and comfortable dinner experience.

Awesome Sunday Brunch
The food and restaurant was awesome! Though it's pricey but the overall experience was great!
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great food and atmosphere.
Great food and atmosphere. Outstanding and knowledgable waitstaff. Only issue I had with it is the wine list is extremely limited in regards to bottles between $40-$60. Overall a great experience.
11/21/2013 4:00:00 PM
It was a really nice restaurant, overpriced somewhat but unique food. The wine list was good, it had an unapproachably expensive section but that was clearly set apart for the rare folks who would spend that much on a bottle of wine. No sherry was on the dessert wine list which is a huge shortcoming of a purportedly oenophile's restaurant.
11/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
Brunch was wonderful!
A group of us met there for brunch before going to see a play. It was fabulous! The mimosas were some of the best we'd ever had and the buffet food was phenomenal. The crab cakes benedict were good, but the chicken and waffles were simply outstanding. It was such a wonderful find that we will absolutely be back!
11/30/2013 4:00:00 PM
Food was Great - Service Impeccable
Was a little disappointed in the location. Hard to get into, parking was a challenge, and the promised scenic view just wasn't. But, the food (although with a very limited menu) was very well executed and had fabulous melange of flavors and was served quickly.

Dinner at Paggi House
Just moved back to Austin and rediscovered an Austin dining original--The Paggi House…Better than ever….
12/4/2013 4:00:00 PM
Better Than Ever!
Paggi House is an Austin tradition. And they are one that has upped their game as they have aged. The building and grounds are gorgeous, as is the decor. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. And the food? The food is wonderful! I'll be going back soon.
