The Oak Long is vibrant and elegant
The new Oak Long Bar (formerly the Oak Bar) is vibrant, elegant and represents the new chic in the city of Boston. We drive up, the valet swiftly and professional opened the door for my date and secured my Jaguar. We enter the Long bar via St. James, were greeted by the maitre d and confidently walked to our reserved table. We were welcomed and called by name. Our waiter Javier was excellent. The service is calm and informed. Drinks, bread, and soup were really terrific. The Entree's was fine. We enjoyed every moment and will bring friends on our next night out. THANKS Long bar!

I have been to the oak bar
I have been to the oak bar several times, and certainly the ambience can't be beat. Our server was wonderful - always attentive but not hovering. Our group was please with our entrees. We ordered a couple of desserts to share - the whoopie pie and the apple crisp. This is the second time I've had the whoopie pie there. Although it is impressive in its presentation, the cake part of the dessert seems to be consistently dry and tasteless. All of us left it virtually untouched after one bite. The apples in the apple crisp were not cooked enough and overall, it too had very little flavor. I'd say, overall, go for drinks and food, but skip dessert.

Thank you, OAK!
Absolutely wonderful! We went for Easter Sunday Brunch and everything about it was delightful-- delicious food, friendly staff and fabulous atmosphere! Thank you, Long OAK Bar and Kitchen.

Oak Long Bar had the ambience
Oak Long Bar had the ambience of an old-style Men's Club which has its plusses and minuses. I had the roast chicken which was actually out of this world. It was my first time, so I don't know about the menu overall, but this dish was a home run. It's an expensive restaurant, probably worth what it charges for something like a business lunch or even a celebration. I probably will try it for dinner one of these days.

Very good, nice place to eat. A little on the loud side for me but not enough to drive me out. Food was very good and hot, service was better than most.

Love the way martinis are
Love the way martinis are served--and the amount. (Has the price gone up--or is this the first time we paid attention?) Lobster mac 'n cheese is marvelous, as is the cheese plate. Wish bacon cheeseburger was back on the menu with marvelous French fries as offered when you first reopened. This was a great dish--gourmet yet basic happy bar food. The service is always impeccably gracious and professional. We'll keep returning.
P.S. Always great to offer good basic lower-end wines (by glass or full bottle).

Still a favorite
It took a while to get used to the new look of the old oak room but it has grown on us. The decor is updated but with a nid to the old woodwork much if which has been retained and enhanced. The cocktails are still the best in Boston. The crowd is a but younger hipper and just as elegant as on days gone by. Great place for people watching. The food iis more adventurous but equally good.

More like a Manhattan jammed-packed
We were looking for a quieter dining experience as we had had in the old Oak Room. This would not be the case any more, with tables placed so close to each other that you can almost at off the neighboring plates The food was very good and served in a pleasing unique manner, but the $5.00 charge for the bread was a surprise. Most of the time this is included with the meal. (Probably should have scrutinized the menu more carefully) Great drinks. Would go to the bar for drinks again, but would skip eating there.

Fun and yummy
This was a girl's night. We ordered 3 items to share: Duck fat fries, wild boar sausage flatbread and blackened cauliflower. All 3 were fantastic. Crowd was mixed between older folks and yuppies. Nice looking crowd. Beautiful decor, although I really miss the original Oak Bar.

The whole enchilada
Six of us had dinner at the Oak Long Bar + Kitchen. Five had not been here before. The food, ambiance, wine list, service -- everything -- was memorable. Will definitely come back.

Food and service were terrific. Staff was friendly and unpretentious. Excellent overall experience.

The dining room and bar is really stunning. The oak charcuterie plate and lush glass glass of Pinot noir was a perfect late night dining option. Unfortunately the service was not as attentive as it should be for this upscale hotel restaurant.

Wonderfully Updated Restaurant
Went to the Oak Long Barn & Kitchen for the first time since the renovation. Everything is great! The décor, while still elegant, is much brighter than before. The food was wonderful. I had the clam chowder which was loaded with clams and Canadian bacon - not overly creamy, but just right, and a generous portion. The George's Bank Lemon Sole was very tender and delicious. My companion had the Steak Frites and said it was cooked perfectly, and the truffle oil fries were decadent. The pots de crème for dessert was the icing on the cake. Our server was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive; all of the staff we encountered (bussers, hostesses, waiters) were very friendly and happy to answer questions. A perfect evening!

Breakfast at OAK
ALL THREE OF US ENJOYED A WONDERFULLY-PREPARED AND PRESENTED BREAKFAST. MY EGGS BENEDICT WERE PERFECT--NOT TOO 'GOOPY'. I'D ALSO RECOMMEND THE FRENCH TOAST.

we were specially seated by
we were specially seated by the window overlooking Copley Square in Boston; the waiter and hostess were conscious that the
four of us hadn't been together in almost 3 years and we were so looking forward to being together;; they treated us like royalty
and all the food was great along with the tremendous service. We found it accidentally because several other restaurants had
been recommended for our night in Boston but it was MONDAY and several were CLOSED, leaving us with this GEM! We hope
to go back whenever our travels take us to Boston again!!

Oak Long Kitchen and Bar could not be more perfect for a hotel like the Fairmont Copley. It is a continuation of the hotel's elegance, sophistication and class and does not disappoint on their products as well. Not only is the food tremendous but the bar is one of the most unique places in the city. The large leather seats and expansive counter create a very homey and comfortable feel that entices you to stay longer or better yet forget time. This place deserves every once of praise it receives and I will tell even my worst enemies to visit.
