A Tuesday night food and wine dream
I was given 10 tables as one of 5 places to check out for our anniversary dinner. As soon as I found out that it was a four course wine pairing that changes each week, I jumped at it. We love wine and love food and to have both for a completely reasonable price of 44 dollars in JP it was a win for all. I hesitate to recommend this place as a Tuesday night destination because reservations are already hard to come by. So please don't go make a reservation until I have already done so.

Everything was wonderful, delicious
On our anniversary we went to Tues -4 course tasting menu dinner paired w/ wines. The food was amazing & the staff was exceptional. Everything was paced so nicely- it was a lovely night out. It was a treat to have everything decided for us. If you are like us &you work too much, + raising kids, I say, "Go to Ten Tables for a night out"! We loved that they treat everyone as important. They also listed all the staff on the menu- so I could remember our waiter Justine's name after he introduced himself & then I promptly forgot it. The chef Peter came by our table - his food was so good it almost made my husband cry! +we also knew the name of the person washing our dishes but who we did not meet- thank you too Denilson! We loved everything!

7Oth Birthday Present from my Son
My son gave me a dinner for two for my birthday, what a surprise! I have lived in Jp for 25 years and my first time! I had a lovely time and the food was to die for! I hope to go back again soon.

Dining at the Ten Tables is never just a meal and always a memorable experience.

Solicitous wait staff, lively
Solicitous wait staff, lively ambience and excellent food. Blue fish was particularly savory as was scallops and pork chop. Well priced wine topped it off. During summer months much easier to obtain a reservation within shorter period of time.

Go! Now! (make reservations first)
The 4 of us met at the appointed hour (7:30) and were seated immediately at out table. Checked the menu and we all decided to get something different for all 3 courses, thereby trying almost everything on the menu. Great idea!!! It was amazing! From the special drinks, appetizers, mains, desserts and coffee, it was spectacular! Our waiter was really helpful and described each item as it was served. He was especially helpful with wine suggestions, letting us try samples before ordering. 3 hours of culinary bliss. Thanks for a special night! We will be back, soon!

Delightful, seasonal, reliable
Ten Tables has been our spot to celebrate two special events, one this weekend (August) and one in January... it is wonderful to see the different menu and enjoy tasting the best of the seasons. Ten Tables is one to keep in our back pocket next time we want a special place to eat.

Delicious four course prix
Delicious four course prix fixe meal with wine pairings based on wines from Spain. Wonderful, attentive service.

Wine dinners are a winner
We went for one of Ten Tables Tuesday wine dinners. Great food, good pairings of wines I would not have known about and excellent service. All at a reasonable price. Highly recommend it.

We do not get to go to Ten Tables often enough, but we have been a few times over the years and they are always sooo good. It is an impressive record of consistent excellence. The kitchen is open and I have never seen a calmer, quiter, and more efficient group at work.

Amazing restaurant with great food,
I took my boyfriend here for our two year anniversary and it could not have been any better. The food was phenomenal, he got the steak and I got the vegetarian pasta. The pasta was out of control good, the best I've ever had anywhere. So many favors and mushrooms I had never tried. My boyfriend says the steak was wonderful as well. We ended up being so full that we didn't even get dessert, but it was quite tempting. The waiter brought us over a little taste of complementary dessert wine instead, which was even better. Best experience ever.

Great date night spot!
Have been hearing about Ten Tables for a long time, and finally got there for a special anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was perfect for a special date - small, intimate, and charmingly appointed, with flickering candles offering low light. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Our food was very good, though I hope to return to try it again, since I suspect on another try we would find the food outstanding. My pasta dish was delicious, with morsels of mushrooms and other veggies sauteed to perfection with a perfect blend of seasonings. My husband's clam appetizer was not quite to our taste, perhaps overpowered by the very salty chorizo that was mixed in. But, the overall experience was lovely - and we'll go back again!

Perfect relaxing dinner
Had made reservations without realizing that it was for their prix fix Tuesday dinner but was very happy we did. It was nice to have our dishes picked out and paired with awesome wine. Very relaxing to just enjoy the meal as decided by the chef at a place that is known for making great choices. Everything was delicious and the wine was superb. Wait staff was very prompt, friendly, informative and courteous. We will definitely do this again and recommend everyone to give it a shot for a nice Tuesday treat!

Visiting Boston and friends recommended we try Ten Tables. Definitely make a reservation (we did), even for a two, or expect a long wait at the cozy bar. We were seated in the dining room with the kitchen which did make for some loud kitchen noise, but overall the ambiance and room were quite comfortable. The food was wonderful, well prepared, and presented. Our waitress was attentive, but no overbearing or intrusive. Overall, it was a great dinner with family and friends.

The essence of why I love JP
JP and the South End are two of the most remarkable Boston neighborhoods. Both have characteristic spots. Ten Tables exemplifies the very best of JP. Everything we ordered from the cocktails through the first course, main AND dessert was simply outstanding. Our server was incredibly well-versed and gracious. Thank you so very much!

Foodie heaven, little pretension
I revisited Ten Tables after an excellent meal 2 years ago. The homemade pasta is perfectly prepared, and the variety of mushrooms served in the dish were rich, earthy and not overly seasoned (the mint was a nice touch). What I love about this place is they don't mind when you ask lots of questions about the food, the preparation, and what wine is best to pair with it. In fact, in my experience, they get into with you and relish their roles as advisers. Yes, it's tiny, and a little noisy, but worth it. Still one of my favorites in Boston.

We dined at the Ten Tables in Jamaica Plain, MA and found it to be an overall enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and it was interesting to be able to observe it being prepared. It's definitely cozy in there but overall it was a nice experience with attentive staff and great eats. Our entree was served a bit late (we didn't really care) so the Maitre' D compensated us with a scrumptious chocolate dessert.

She said "yes!"
We had a great time at Ten Tables. The staff was very attentive and they even asked if we were there for a special occasion. This was true, since just prior to going to dinner I proposed to my girlfriend at Jamaica Pond with is just a quick stroll down from Ten Tables.

Great place--food, wine, service!
After a mix-up in the reservations system (which had not taken into account a private party booking), the staff was extremely accommodating and helpful, calling a couple times to sort it out - and we ended up with a perfect table at the bar (reserved, but in a cozy corner). And the bonus was that the food was terrific! Service excellent and we were never rushed, although there were people waiting for our little bar table. Will definitely return to JP's Ten Tables!
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Just Plain Terrific!
We had been to the Cambridge spot and thought it was good, but this - the "original" in JP - was a whole other level of terrific. Due to its size, it can be noisy, but the feel is like a bustling table of friends, rather than anything frenzied.
The chef the night we were there was Peter Boyd (with the exceptional Megan as his second), and every dish was simply breath-taking. From the corn/bacon/succotash under the perfectly cooked pork, the exquisite oysters, the delicious bouillabaise...all the way to the unbelievable chocolate flour-less cake....it was just perfect.
Oh, and the wine pairings were unique, rare and fit beautifully with the various food offerings. Justin is relatively new, and a real find.
GO, you'll love it!

A wine-paired Tuesday treat!
Ten Tables is our local go-to place for a special occasion and they never disappoint! This time we tried their wine-paired prix fixe Tuesday and enjoyed a spectacular meal. The quality of food, drink and service offer amazing bang for your buck!

TEN SPECIAL TABLES!!
The menu was interesting and enticing with a very nice selection. Our waitresses were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient..
Our party of three enjoyed the roast duck (spectacular), the hake with patty's clams (luscious), and the papardelle (scrumptious).
Each one thought theirs was the best! The wine of the evening was lovely and the warm peach crumble was to die for...IT WAS A LOVELY EVENING. Thank you!!

Perfect spot for a birthday dinner
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here for her birthday. They were flexible and accommodating for our dietary restrictions, and as always, the service was attentive and personalized. Eating at Ten Tables is almost a religious food experience every time I go!
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great immaginative Food and Loud
The food is imaginative and well prepared, with quality ingredients. These are original culinary creations with appropriate matchings of flavors. Not just novelty for its own sake. The setting is comfortable and the staff is friendly, well informed and attentive. The wine list is carefully chosen and priced within reason for a Boston restaurant where wine prices tend to be too precious. There is a decent house wine at a good price. The reservations policy is a bit severe, but justified. The food was a little salty for my taste, but I forgot to ask for less salt. The only flaw is that it is too noisy. This is the fashion these days as exemplified by the choice of "energetic" in this open Table website. It was hard to have a conversation.

Love the expirience
I really recommend Ten Tables! We had the 4 courses menu with pairing and everything was great! The food was delicious, the wine were very good and the service was incredible. My 3 years old went with us and the were very gentle preparing a steak with potatos that he really liked.
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
I thought 10 tables did an amazing job food and wine was great some of the food was unseasoned
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
great place to celebrate
Wednesday is a set price for 3 courses, the selection was creative and delicious. The neighborhood feel, fabulous service and great food made for a memorable night.

Off Night at Ten Tables
My fiance and I went to Ten Tables last Monday to celebrate our birthdays and were a little disappointed with the service we received as well as the loud noise from the kitchen. The food was great as usual, but we could tell our waiter(s)/waitress(es) were very busy possibly due to short staffing. I would still recommend Ten Tables because the food is very tasty and the ingredients are always fresh.
10/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very Fun and Yummy
The food was sensational. We did the tastings. If I went back which I won't because I don't live here I would do the
tastings again. Sensational. If ever back to Boston I'd go again.
10/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
we were a party of 4 with 3 young male adults with healthy appetites. We chose the 4 course tasting menu which was delicious. the waiter was excellent and very accommodating in adjusting the menu to deal with a few things I could not eat. Everything we ate was delicious and I hope to have the opportunity to dine there again on any future trip to Boston.
10/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great tasting menu and wine pairing
Four of us dined at Ten Tables and elected to try the chef's tasting menu. The first course was house cured meats, followed by a roasted tomato fish soup, steak with onions au gratin and crispy slaw, and for dessert they tried out a new item on us--pot de crème with maple crumble and apple. Each dish was very successful, and the overall experience was enhanced because of the wine pairing. Our server selected the wines for us, and he was very knowledgable and informative--best of all, his pairings were spot on.

One of the best in Boston!
Ten Tables is one of my favorite restaurants, period. Not just in Boston, but everywhere.
They have a very creative menu, which changes regularly, depending on what good, fresh stuff the season brings.
The ambiance is amazing. There really are only 10 tables. There is an open kitchen, which is awesome.
The waitstaff is very good and attentive.
Ten Tables never disappoints!

Wonderful Night Out
Went here last Friday for the first time after getting a tip from friends. We reserved a regular table for 2. Did 2 chef's tasting menus in addition to the wine pairing (~$140 for the two dinners). Chef's tasting menu had 4 courses - appetizer was a charcuterie type assortment, soup, entree & dessert. Wines were tastings for each course (1 white, 2 reds, 1 dessert wine). My husband & I don't frequently go out for dinner (every couple of months), so it's kind of a big deal when we do go out. We were overall very pleased with the experience, the meal, and the service. We would love to come back sometime in the future!

Romance without breaking the bank
Fantastic JP gem (yes, there are only Ten Tables, though the TT Bar adjacent has additional seating) for an exciting but comfortable dinner. Perfect place for a couple or a date, though there were a few 3-4 person groups enjoying themselves. I paid just over $100 for two people: drinks, entrees, and a shared dessert. The hanger steak, halibut, and chocolate "nemesis" were all superb and we would definitely order again. Service was very attentive yet discreet.
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great neighborhood restaurant and great place to be with a special someone, in my case, my daughter.
Food was beautifully presented. The halibut was a little too dry and salty for my taste. Chardonnay....wonderful!

Great JP Dining
We love Ten Tables in JP and have a great dinner every time we go. This visit was no exception with food, service and overall experience all top notch.
11/10/2013 4:00:00 PM
There are few more predictably great restaurants in Boston than Ten Tables JP. Interesting wine list, consistently interesting menu, and superb house made charcuterie, smoked fish, and etc... Likewise a remarkably high quality meal for the price. Service is always attentive, always helpful, forever pointing out a nice wine to pair with a dish if you ask. Every neighborhood should be so lucky.
11/10/2013 4:00:00 PM
They manage to not let you
They manage to not let you feel crowded, in spite of the small space and very small tables!!
11/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
Cozy and warm. Did the vegetarian
Cozy and warm. Did the vegetarian 4 course meal, split with a non-vegetarian and we both loved it. Drinks are mixed to perfection. It is certainly a memorable experience.

They aim to please, and succeed
We ordered the lamb ragout and the veg jambalaya. The lamb was sensational, truly could not have been better. The jambalaya was totally ordinary, and we were puzzled. It was a small portion, and it was exceedingly simple: basmati rice, chickpeas, carrots, a few other veggies perhaps, and no seasoning that we could detect.
I am reluctant to send things back, but I decided that this was an extreme case. I explained our assessment of the dish to our waitress, who said that it was the second time she had heard that that evening. She graciously offered us something else, and we ordered the spicy fish stew, which was absolutely excellent. She then brought us an amazing cheese plate, on the house. What a classy place! We'll definitely be back.

A Wonderful Evening
Food was delicious, service was great, lively crowd yet not overwhelmingly loud.

Always an amazing time. The service was excellent. The food was great. We shared the Hanger Steak (cooked rare to perfection) and Baked Sole. So delicious!

best restaurant in the boston area.
incredible, consistently delicious food and great service.

Great night out!
This was a night of good food and unusual wines. The menu focused around wines from Israel was well chosen and prepared - best of all let me taste wines from a region I am unfamiliar with. I would, and will, go back to another one of these wine pairing meals at Ten Tables.
12/2/2013 4:00:00 PM
Always Good Food
I have been to 10 Tables many times. The food, service and value are outstanding. The 3 courses for $38 on Wednesday nights is a good price for what you get. This is not a "bargain" restaurant but if you want great food at a reasonable price, visit 10 Tables.
12/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
Compliments to the Chef
Outstanding food!! Hanger steak was the best I've ever had, and the waitstaff knew the menu extraordinarily well. We'll be back soon.
12/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great Place for Amazing Food
This is a great little restaurant serving up amazing food that's made while you watch. The open kitchen is like sitting at home and watching your own personal gourmet chef create food right in your home kitchen. And everything is as local as possible for the season, which is very apparent in the freshness of the food.
Seating is a little tight and I highly recommend a reservation made a few days in advance if you'd like to eat at a reasonable hour. That being said we were seated upon arriving half an hour early for our reservation and the noise level is incredibly low for such a small space.
The cocktail list is also worth your time.... Very delicious, inspired concoctions!
12/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
This was my first time at Ten Tables and the food was amazing! I was there for a special occasion and ordered the chef's tasting menu and everything was delicious and unique!

A genuine treasure
TT is one of our go-to restaurants for special dining treats. We often use bad weather as a marker of the chance to walk in, as reservations are a must. This time, despite the snow storm Dec 17 only one spot was available. Walking the few blocks was fun with the snow swirling and the cars stuck here and there. Yet the bar scene was hopping and the tables were filled the whole time. The wine pairing menu, featuring sparkling wines that night was wonderful, appealing both in visuals and flavors! This is a special place, worth coming to from anywhere in the city, but for those of us lucky enough to live nearby, worth planning ahead with reservations which seem necessary for a very good reason, they are boooked otherwise!
