Sugarbeets was the PERFECT dining experience!
The menu was innovative, food very fresh and service top notch.
Its set in a unpretentious neighborhood and we would never have stumbled upon it if not for the rave reviews.
The decor is hip and sets the right tone the minute you enter. Cocktails are creative and tasty! Great variety of appetizers, salads and main courses. Highly recommend bacon wrapped shrimp, three cheese plate special, one of the best gorgonzola dressed wedge salads ever, and wonderful chunky gazpacho. Our table loved the halibut and the filet mingion. Also tried the fresh spinach and the cheddar flash fried grits..they were light and delicious! All four of us were raving the whole meal how great the whole experience was!!

Great special dinner
My wife and I feel this is the best special occasion place to eat in Longmont. We would love to go there mre often, but we have to save it for something special because of the price. We prefer this to most places in Boulder also. The menu is interesting and the service is very good.

Great Gluten Free Menu
My mom is gluten free. Their menu identifies many/most selections as gluten free which made ordering for her a breeze. Whether GF or not, the menu and specials are fantastic, beautiful and fresh. This restaurant had high ratings and, as a restaurant owner, I completely agree. It's about 25 minutes from Boulder and worth the drive. We'll be back.

B+,If full disclosure...excellent!
Very good ding experience. We can't stop thinking about the wine we had. The rose,d Tinto fino, the food was excellent, waitress exceptional. Fell down on points for non-full disclosure of happy hour. We arrived in time but no one mentioned it to us. . Wondering, everyone was sitting in the bar, empty dining room. So despite excellent experience it left a bad taste in our mouths, NOT to receive happy hour discount.
If you have a discount, OFFER IT otherwise you look like a CRIMINAL!

A Really Nice Dinner
We meet our son and his girlfriend here for a birthday dinner. A great time was had by all (we'd been before but they hadn't) and both the food and service were excellent. Nicely paced, great apps and then everyone was really happy with their mains - Risotto, Scallops and Ahi (x2). I know my ahi, having grown up in Hawai'i and this was a huge portion, seared just as it should be. They also made points with the son's girlfriend when she realized they'd remembered his birthday (as I'd noted in my OpenTable reservation). Food fit for foodies without being stuffy or pretentious.

A new favorite
We had a great experience - the salads were large and outstanding. In fact the couple next to us made a meal of a salad and one of the great appetizers, and it looked like a good choice. The main courses (halibut and scallops) excellent and creative. Service was prompt and attentive. I'll definitely go back.

We visited on a Sunday night so there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. The good was excellent and although a bit expensive it was a good value for the portions.

Second time here and it was
Second time here and it was fabulous again. I was not sure if the service was really slow or if the items took long to prepare - it just seemed like we waited longer than expected. Well worth the wait though!

While on a short trip to Longmont, we searched for a local place, found it! Great menu farm to table fantastic flavors When in Longmont go! Would compare well to Hurley's in Yountville or Farmsted in St Helena.

Delicious Dinner at Sugarbeet
Our party of 4 was very pleased with our dinner at Sugarbeet. The menu was unique--a pleasant surprise, and the preparation was outstanding. It was fresh and had a lovely presentation. I especially enjoyed the quinoa stuffed avocado and salmon entree. Our server was attentive and friendly, and did not hover or hurry. We will be sure to return to Sugarbeet soon!

One of the best restaurants
One of the best restaurants I've been to in my 17 years living in Northern Colorado. From appetizer to main dish, each were unique and carefully prepared dishes in my experience. The price point is more tailored for special occasions for full dining experience. However, a more cost-conscious diner would still have a fantastic experience with appetizer and one of their salad options.

great food in Longmont!
What a surprise. This is a definitely excellent restaurant for those who enjoy fresh food prepared well. The location is a bit confusing so map it if you are going for the first time. Attentive knowledgeable service and a wonderful array of dishes. We especially enjoyed the fava and edamame hummus and the seafood bouillabaisse. We will be back!

Great for special occasions!
I was in town on business and brought my mother along for the trip so she could visit friends in Denver. My job was to pick a restaurant in Longmont for us all to meet. After much research in my hotel at night, I was so proud to have picked Sugarbeet, they were outstanding in everyway. I had the beef tenderloing skewer with beets and brussel sprouts. I don't eat beets, but Sugarbeets made me a junkie; they were delicious. The brussel sprouts were even more amazing the way they cooked them, I could have just had these two side items and doubled them on my plate and been happy. Not saying the tenderloin wasn't equally as good, but I tend to like my side items and veggies more than meat.

Great Night Out
My wife, Daughter and I went out looking for a special experience and I am happy to say the Sugar Beet did not disappoint. There were many great choices on the Menu along with a separate nightly special to choose from. I enjoyed the Romaine Heart salad, I highly recommend it if you like a hearty salad. My entree was the pan roasted sea scallops, these were delicious big scallops and they were real scallops. Again I would recommend them to anyone with a passion for scallops. My wife and daughter enjoyed they're dishes and were very satisfied, now they are asking when can we go back. I forgot to mention, the service is professional, very attentive which helped make the experience very enjoyable. Definitely earns a five star rating.

My wife and I had an incredible meal! We loved our Colorado ribeye, shrimp ceviche, gnocchi, beef tenderloin skewers, finished with a passion fruit mousse and kiwi sorbet (the best sorbet I have ever had).
The staff was attentive, professional and friendly.
I highly recommend SugarBeet.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
As an older person, I am not accustomed to the new foods and combinations. The beef skewer was wonderfully cooked and served. The other party had the batter fried scallops, and couldn't get enough of them. The pork bellies were a little rich for his taste. We each had a lovely coconut/lime dessert which was light and perfect after a somewhat heavy meal. The service was excellent.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was my second time at Sugarbeet and both times the food was outstanding and our server was attentive.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very delicious and interesting food
This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but not overly priced either. Two of us ate for $85 (appetizer, two entrees and a drink). The flavors of seasonings and dips were unique, subtle and fun. Portions were generous, perfect temperature, and the side portions were complimentary. The wait staff were attentive, but not intrusive.

Specials are Special
Excellent menu with nightly specials that included great salads and soft shelled crab appetizer with salad. From the menu, the Tenderloin beef skewers and Orrechiette with Italian Sausage entrees were exceptionally good. The only weak dish was the shrimp risotto which was bland with small shrimp.. We all thought this dish could have been spiced better and perhaps used two or three prawns or jumbo shrimp cut into pieces. We will return and recommend the restaurant since it overall was very good and we enjoyed the evening.

A perfect end to our hectic
A perfect end to our hectic week and night out for mom and dad date. The romaine salad was like nothing we have every had - flavors were so well paired together...amazing course.

Monthly dinner group
Our friends and I dine at a different restaurant each month in Boulder County. This was a hidden gem that we are glad we discovered! The food was excellent, and we appreciated the quiet atmosphere as well. We will be coming again!

Great food and service
We had the soft shell crab and it was excellent. I usually get turned off if I see a sharing charge. However, the ribs, which were delicious was too big to eat for one person. They give you a full rack with a large side of beans which was out of this world and slaw, which was also delicious. I just couldn't finish my meal. It's very rare to get that much food so well prepared. I would have gladly paid the sharing charge for this dish. I can't believe I would ever say that or write it. The house merlot was very good and priced well. My friends tuna was fantastic as well. The waitress was delightful, patient and knowledgeable.
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Some people have complained about the location, but it is in a part of Longmont that was historically used for processing agricultural goods. Hence the perfect name Sugarbeet. The building is nice and new and the food is great. I like the atmosphere and the staff is excellent. If you like delicious food and locally grown produce, I recommend this restaurant

Great Time Good Food
My wife and I dinned at Sugarbeet for our anniversary had wonderful time. It is nice to a restaurant of this caliber here in longmont.
Good seafood selection and very adaptive when I asked to have seafood added to a main course. Thank you.

Always spot on
Whether we are gathering with friends or just a special night for the two of us, Sugarbeet always makes the night superb. Why drive all the way to Denver when such a gem exists in a tucked away corner of Longmont?
9/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
We enjoyed our meal at Sugarbeet. We were celebrating an anniversary. While it isn't the most romantic setting, it is an adult restaurant with great food and drinks.

Nice place in Longmont
We enjoyed our time at Sugarbeet. Our waiter was knowledgable and friendly, The food was delicious, the wine was good and dessert was yummy. I wouldn't eat on the outside patio though, the train tracks are extremely close and when it went by the noise was a bit loud. I can imagine that it was extremely loud on the patio.

Best Fine Dining in Longmont
Longmont has limited fine dining. Sugarbeet's provides something this town needs. Their food menu is simple, but covers a variety of options. The food is fresh and appropiate for the season. Service and food are excellent.

Perfect spot for that special evening getaway and spoil yourselves. Food is great. Menu is varied and unique. Service is superb.
10/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
We arrived at 4p on a Friday and were the only patrons there at the time until tons of people showed up. Had a great time and an awesome waiter, the food was good except not sure why you would pair scallops with pork bellies. The filet was totally incredible!!! The martinis and wine were great too.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food is consistently extraordinary. Atmosphere is quaint yet vibrant. Hands down best restaurant in Longmont!

Love the way Sugarbeet utilizes
Love the way Sugarbeet utilizes root vegetables as sides. Purple carrots, yellow beets - always colorful as well as flavorful.

In an area of Longmont where I didn't expect to find a restaurant I found a wonderful restaurant. Great atmosphere and the food was wicked.
I recommend this place highly

The best restaurant in Longmont!
The seared Ahi was the best I've ever had. My friend had the halibut. Both AMAZING! Love this restaurant! I've been there so many times, but, still get amazed every time. The prices are very reasonable, too.

A Diamond in the Rough
Sugarbeet is a charming dining venue set in an industrial corridor in central Longmont. The owners have tastefully arranged and decorated the space so you get the industrial feel, but with a clean and stylish motif. Our reception on entering was personal and focused on us. Our three course dinner flowed out to us at a relaxed cadence and was fit for any foodie. The service was attentive, but not intrusive and we felt like we were the only ones in the place though it was about 3/4 full. Highly recommended for a couples night, a family celebration or a dinner with clients. And yes, the beets are delectable.

Best food in Longmont, ever
Every single thing I tasted at the Sugarbeet was amazing. The ingredients were specialized and paired very well. The food was cooked perfectly. I had a full bodied French wine that was delicious. The grapefuit/champagne sorbet for dessert was very refreshing. I have never had a meal in either Longmont or Boulder this delicious. It is a plus to me that the ingredients are mainly local. The atmosphere was nothing special, but there was nothing wrong with it, either. The serving staff was top notch. The industrial location gave me the feeling of being in Denver instead of Longmont, which is a nice change, a nice city feel. It is pricey, but the price is fully in line with the food quality and is comparable to other fine restaurants.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
I've been coming to this restaurant for 2+ years. Found it during either Boulder First Bite or Denver Restaurant week. The food changes seasonally and is consistently good. Nice wine list. Service is consistently good. It's become my "go to" place to take friends for birthdays and other celebrations.

Always A Treat
Once again a wonderful dinner at Sugar Beet. The charcuterie plate was the hit of the evening. Excellent meats. Maybe a couple more slices of toasted bread to accompany, but we didn't ask for more. The special was sea scallops which tempted 3 of us. The other guest had steak. We were all pleased. I had requested a quiet table and we were seated in the smaller room. The larger room is very nice, just a little bit louder but fun.

Delivers once again
This was our third visit up to SUGARBEET in the last 18 mos. As always great menu, wine, and service.
I have no complaints at all....only wish it was closer to DENVER ! - not something that is likely to change....
could we start a shuttle bus ? LOL
Kitchen knnows their stuff. Thought my steak might havve been a 'bit' overdone -but minor issue.
Carry on and keep at it....love your work.

One of the best in Colorado
It has been my pleasure to eat at the Sugarbeet several times. The food is always interesting and fresh. The service is always attentive and helpful. I put it up there with the finest restaurants In the Boulder area and maybe all of Colorado. Do yourself a favor if you haven't tried this hidden gem. The hardest part will be deciding on what to eat (or perhaps finding the restaurant). Stretch out from your normal routine and order something different. It is all wonderful and surprising.
