We didn't realize this restaurant was in the Four Seasons. The price point seemed reasonable so we tried it. It was great - food and service. Will definitely go again when I'm in Chicago. If we had known it was the Four Seasons we probably would have gone elsewhere. Glad we went!

Great service from the welcome
Great service from the welcome to the table service and wonderful and unique food presentation, Bravo! Not to mention the great taste and quality of food!

Took my wife here for her birthday based on the open table reviews. Despite good reviews, I remained skeptical. Worse yet I could tell my wife was skeptical given that it was restaurant inside a hotel. The menu was fun with small plates to share, and the items were presented in a fun creative way. Our server had great timing and knowledge of the menu that made the experience that more special. This was the best dining experience we've had this year and one of the better experiences we have ever had. Definitely we'll be back again.
crispy chorizo bites
big bowl of urban greens
crispy brussel sprouts
bone in ribeye with blue cheese fondue
Nothing I would not order again.

great place, i'd go again!
My boyfriend and I were welcomed by friendly waiter at the entrance and was seated at the window side. The waiters were nice and friendly, food superb and atmosphere romantic and quiet - perfect for talking. I had crab fritters and macaroons while my boyfriend had a burger and chocolate shake. There was a drink list with cocktails I wanted to try, but I didn't feel like drinking a the moment. The price wasn't all bad either. Great place, although I was scared since I'm only a student and it was in a hotel, I'd definitely go again.

What's not to love?
I got my Purple Haze cocktail again... Love that drink! M got some wine and port. We shared the lobster bisque soup (it was a special) and it was served in the ever so popular mason jar. M got charcuterie and I got the Flaming Bananas Foster. It was all flippin' incredible. Service was over the top attentive. We left feeling as if we got a terrific value for our money. We were comfortable and relaxed while other dining guests were dressed up. But we were served just the same as everyone else. We felt like endearing regulars and we love Allium. It's like coming home.

Fun place to get away from Magnificent Mile crowds, but still so close.
7/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
A little TLC at lunchtime
If you're downtown and need a break from all your running around, we wholeheartedly recommend Allium for a perfectly wonderful lunchtime retreat!
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good place for a visit!
Nice spot inside the Four Seasons hotel. A place you can hang out, eat and drink. Nice ambiance, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. We shared a number of small plates and all were well presented. Some were basic foods but the descriptors made them sound more interesting than they actually were. Everything was tasty!
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
As always, I enjoy dining at this restaurant. However, I was dissappointed to learn that they no longer offer the lunch buffet.
7/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
I thought this meal was fantastic. From start to finish we were very pleased with our dinner and desert. The menu was exciting, seasonal, visually appealing and most of all everything tasted great. I was a bit skeptical about going to eat at Allium because of its location (7th floor of four seasons) but was pleasantly surprised and hope that I make it back soon. At first i was reluctant because the energy level of the dining room was very subdued and not a lot of people were there, but once I tasted the food I quickly forgot about that.
Try the red velvet cupcake for dessert.

The most unique brunch I have ever been to. It starts with the most delicious warm pecan bread. I wanted more of that. The second course is a small plates presentation with everything from a mini clam bake to avocado corn salad and fantastic salmon squares and pork belly sliders. Everyone shared what was brought out for that course. The third course is one each diner chooses for themselves. The bacon onion French toast was wonderful. Not a hint of onion. Then last is a dessert buffet. It was great and wonderfully unique Sunday brunch.

Exceptionally creative menu.
Exceptionally creative menu. Outstanding presentation and taste. Cheese lavosh is presented so beautifully, and has the perfect proportion of cheese worked into the bread. Okra with the walleye was a great pairing. Both the walleye and halibut were perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. Excellent selection of desserts. Salted caramels were the favorite at the table. Welcoming and knowledgeable server.

Ideal fro Business & Pleasure
I had a very productive business luncheon. We sat in the open Atrium are which had a great view and natural lighting. There is also a more private area inside that is really nice.
The staff was very attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent and they gladly accommodated food allergies.
I have also eaten here with my family and they loved the pancakes!
I recommend the Allium restaurant. You will love it.
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was absolutely amazing- presentation was beautiful, ingredients were fresh and tastefully combined (love that they use local farms). Will definitely go back and would recommend this restaurant to even my fanciest friends.
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great spot for business meals
Great food and impeccable service are assured. This is one of my favorite places for business meals as the noise level allows for easy conversations with clients.
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is our favorite place to take guests. The menu has a wide variety of excellent food and drink to appeal to everyone. The atmosphere is lovely and comfortable. It is very conversation friendly. The service is knowledgeable, friendly and polished. You can have a relaxed dinner, and they don't rush you out.
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a great brunch here. Perfect place to take a break from shopping and spa....loved it and so did wifey!
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went here for lunch to celebrate my best friend's birthday. An elegant delight. A bit over-priced, but worth it for a special occasion.
8/25/2013 5:00:00 PM
Always a Treasure
I've taken to coming to Allium for a quick drink and hors d'oeuvres with friends and loved ones. The food is incredible, of course, but the chill and classy ambiance at Allium lends itself to relaxing and conversation. Service is always friendly and impeccable. There is none better. I love it.

An elegant place & incredible food!
We had one of the most delicious dinners here twice recently. We had a party for 10 people here last week and I had to go back to the restaurant for the dinner I so enjoyed. For the party of 10, we had a varied group of ages and everyone loved their dinners, appetizers and desserts and drinks. My favorite dinner is the lamb chops from a Wisconsin farm, these are the best tasting I have ever had. Several of us had the lamb chops, lots of outstanding wine and the best Allium beer, made from last years Michigan cherries - it was one of the most delicious beers I had tasted. You cannot miss the bacon maple funnel cakes for dessert! You will definitely enjoy Allium and the price is right.
8/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
When did you decide to not offer nuts etc unless you pay for them? Bring back Bans Willaman! No wonder the lounge and restaurant was empty at 6 pm.
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Elegant comfortable restaurant, full of light but no noise. Service impeccable. Food was less than I expected, but beautifully prepared and served.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food here is AWESOME. We really enjoyed it. They are great with kids!!!
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Outstanding Dining Experiencd
The Allium was an outstanding dining experience which I feel would pertain to almost any upscale dining experience.

Adding Credibility to the 4 Seasons
we went there for a friend's birthday and it was fantastic! Each course and the heaping tower of dessert was really what put it over the edge. I will definitely return

Great birthday lunch
I made a reservation for lunch because of the Fried chicken special. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that Fried chicken was served on Tuesdays. My birthday was Monday. I decided to stay for lunch. I was not disappointed. The food was very good and the service was excellent. I was glad that I didn't leave. I will make another reservation for the Fried chicken.
9/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Tried the fried chicken special. Great flavor but way too much breading that was hard and difficult to bite through. Very beautiful place with top notch service. Will definitely go again and try something else on the menu.
9/23/2013 5:00:00 PM
The Wow factor
Very interesting menu with many surprises and definitely has the wow factor. Great fun in a lovely restaurant

Loved the service!
Fours Seasons has always been characterized for providing excellence! This was not the exception. Food was delicious and service was outstanding.
Loved the Margarita and FrootLoops ice cream..We were celebrating my husbands birthday and everything went superb!

Good food in a very fun atmosphere.
Good food in a very fun atmosphere. Very comfortable chairs, and we had a phenomenal server. I'd definitely recommend it to friends.

Good food & service; weird vibe
The food was very good. Drinks were very good. Service was exceptional. As for hotel dining; I'd rank it #2 behind the Lobby Restaurant at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago. The ambiance was a little off. Place was fairly empty, which I though was odd for a Friday night. Light music - like what they have at the Lobby would have been nice. Great small plates. And the chicken was fantastic.

High end food in a club atmosphere
First visit to Allium. Had a great time. The service was excellent. We saw some of the power players of Chicago there. Former Mayor and current cabinet member chumming it up. The place is great. The Hanging Focaccia is messy but tastes great. The halibut was fantastic. My friend had rave reviews for the skirt steak. The Hot dog was excellent but still a hot dog. My wife was not crazy about the shrimp and grits dish.(too salty), hence the 4 stars. The desserts were excellent. Smores, caramel cake or carrot cake. The chocolate sorbet also quite good. Don't forget validation if you self park at 900 Mall parking. only 6 bucks after 5PM. Will be back to try the rest of the menu.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
To begin with, the place is gorgeous. The menu tells you where they get their food from, which I thoroughly appreciate. The menu is divided into sections of small plates , starters, breads, sides, really large plates, and then full on meat only. The chef does some great things flavor wise. We were very impressed. Our bill was reasonable, which made me even happier.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Really creative chef, great
Really creative chef, great service and atmosphere, wonderful Art collection!
10/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Love the unique menu. Everything from a unique Chicago style hot dog to foie gras all presented exquisitely with impeccable taste. The service was also stellar with attentive detail throughout. The overall ambiance and decor of the Four Seasons remains on par with what we are used to expecting from a first rate hotel. Incredible quality and detail throughout. Really enjoyed ourselves here and will certainly be back.
10/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Amazing menu; incredible staff
I can't say enough about Allium. The menu is just fantastic. So many brilliant items. My only complaint is that I haven't been able to try them all yet! You know the menu is good when you want to order every single item. All the courses I've had have been so tasty. The drinks have always been good, especially some of the cocktails they make. Finally, the waitstaff is beyond A+. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Never overbearing but there when you need them. They really helped make the night perfect.
10/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice restaurant, a warm cozy
Nice restaurant, a warm cozy ambiance, very friendly and helpful staff. Well executed menu, nothing that will wow but the food is good.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
We really enjoyed our dinner. The butternut squash soup was amazing!!!
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Homey food in a posh hotel
The decor of this restaurant in The Four Seasons is a bit over the top, but the food is fresh, seasonal and largely house-made. Early in the evening it is very quiet and the service is attentive but not overbearing.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great special brunch spot
We had a great experience at the Allium for Sunday brunch. They sat us at a great table and were amazingly accommodating to my food allergies. The staff was attentive and the food was great. I would definitely go back.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
A little disappointing
We go to Allium quite often and this time were a little disappointed as the menu had changed recently and some of my favorites were not offered. I did have the large greens salad which was very good and the brussels sprouts maple inhanced which were delicious. I had somewhat like a spice cake with apple sorbet which was very good but missed the maple bacon funnel cake that used to be on the menu. They still have much on the menu which are wonderul selections, the lamb chops are among the best I have had. I would still highly recommend the Allium because of the excellent service, the atmosphere, and the food.
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
Excellent...will be back!
For such a nice place - inside the luxurious Four Seasons - the menu is very reasonably priced. There didn't look like a bad choice on the menu. Lots of great, unique choices. Service was also top-notch - friendly and knowledgeable. We're certainly coming back.
11/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
It is what it should be, situated off the lobby of the Four Seasons--a stunning room with impeccable service. Went for Sunday brunch but ate off the breakfast menu (brunch is $58/person). The food (the Chicago scramble, the huevos rancheros) was very good although not quite amazing. The mimosas, however, were perfect.
Lovely time in a lovely place... Just can't afford to do it often!
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Just what we needed
We needed a good restaurant that was open at eleven for brunch on a Friday. Not so easy to find. Allium Is dependably good, sophisticated and quiet enough for real conversation. I like hotel restaurants; there is a particular ambiance, as if everyone dining is on holiday.
We ordered, between us three, Mexican eggs, eggs Benedict and a sort of roast beef hash, but made with a duck confit with a duck egg on top. The plates were good to look at and the food was good, too.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Love coming here. The food is unique and delicious. What is better than being in a cozy living room with a fireplace enjoying company you can hear, great food and fine wine. Thank you !
Ps. Cheese lavosh, sliders and hot dog pairs quite well with Silver Oak!
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great ambience and atmosphere.
Great ambience and atmosphere. Great diverse menu and the gourmet hot dog is incredible!
11/21/2013 4:00:00 PM
New Menu is Fabulous!
For an appetizer - try the pumpkin seed/cranberry foccacia with a light blue cheese topping. Big enough to share. The lobster/gnocci is to die for. The gnocci is gently sauteed and there is an ample serving of chunks of tender lobster. The sauce combining this is delicious without being too heavy. Let me note that the price for this is under $20.00! Also, try the skirt steak and pommes frites. Steak was juicy and very tender - seared to perfection. On another occasion we had the "Chicago Dog" a chef's version which really works. The dining room is very cozy - we sat by the fireplace - but the window seats are also very pleasant.
11/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
Amazing food in a beautiful setting
The menu is very thoughtful and precisely executed. Service was phenomenal. I highly recommend sharing a number of the small and big plates to experience the wonderful variety- and certainly leave room for dessert. My party and I enjoyed the elegance without pretense of the restaurant, menu, and service.
5/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
This was our second visit and we were just as pleased the second time. Service is outstanding -- laid back, not high pressure like you get at a lot restaurants these days. Excellent wines and yummy food. The sliders are just amazing! The cheese lavosh is a must! Lots of variety on the menu. So many things to try. Highly recommend!

Allium Achieves Excellence
Overlooking Michigan Avenue, Allium is a beautiful venue. The innovative drinks and dishes are so interesting, yet they work on every turn. My wife and I had a late night dinner, and it was excellent. Starting with chorizo bits and crab fritters, things got better with her brick chicken and my mussels with salami (I was skeptical until I tasted it...wow!) Portions were generous and the wines by the glass allowed us to try different vintages. Service was perfect, everyone was so friendly, and our celebrity sighting (by my wife ) for the evening was Sting!! The different choices beg fro a return visit!
