Although we are not on a diet,
Although we are not on a diet, we weren't in the mood for appetizers. A "smaller" salad would have been nice but is not listed so we didn't have salad. We got our bottle of wine and sat there drinking it for an extended period without interruption. No bread, rolls, biscuits, etc. No entrees either.
Entrees finally arrived - then came the biscuits. Two of them (one for each of us), and they were bite sized (translation - one bite and they're gone).
Entrees were delicious, cooked to perfection. There was just this Long period where there was nothing except terminal boredom.

Excellent food with unique
Excellent food with unique menu choices and interesting combinations. We ate here as a special occasion and it was well worth it. The service was outstanding and the restaurant was very quiet. There is a nice little adjoining store where you can purchase specialty food and home items.

Every meal was well prepared
Every meal was well prepared and well presented. Prepared as requested and in some cases with alternative sides to those specified in the menu. Service attentive. Corkage fee of $20 allowed me to bring an older wine from my cellar. Menu limited for our Vegan guest;ran out of the special but made a nice substitution. Great experience.

We found Elliott's online
We found Elliott's online and were pleased with the service, food and surroundings here. I ordered triple-fries with truffle mayo and then a great crab and avocado salad. My husband had the prix-fixe: duck appetizer, then scallops and a chocolate creme brulee. What a great way to end a pleasant day trip to Pinehurst! We will be eager to return.

Had some friends from NY in for 5 days of golf. Ate out four nights . Elliott's was the highlight restaurant of the week for them. Great food. Great service. Thanks for a great night and reunion with old friends.

Great restaurant close to Pinehurst
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Elliott's on Linden as did several other couples on May 1. The food is fresh farm to table and very well prepared. The cedar plank salmon is a house specialty and was outstanding, as was the service.

Get the Salmon!
The Salmon special was delectable! Great service and they're open on Mondays!!!

Four of us had a wonderful
Four of us had a wonderful dinner fro appetizersd through dessert with excellent wine from a moderately priced list. From the elk I ordered to the shrimp and grits ordered by another diner in my group all was quite tasty and beautifuly presented. Mark Elliott joined us a for a glasss of wine and that capped off a delightful dining experience.
5/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
I've eaten at Mark's restaurants on many occasions (quiet dinners, business meals, groups both small and large) and the overall experience is universally positive.

Swine and Suds event
What a fun event! The chef first gave a demonstration of hog butchering. We got to see where on the carcass each cut of pork comes from. Then we had four courses of pork wonderfully cooked and presented. Along the way we had a variety of good bottled beers to sample. The service was excellent without being overdone. When done, we were fully satisified, entertained, and educated. Priced at '$39, it was a good deal.

Great food in the middle of nowhere
If you happen to be down in Pinehurst and your golf package at the resort allows you meals off-site, definitely go to Elliott's. we're down here with 3 couples for a guy-girl golf trip and wanted something different. This place reminds us of home (NY).....except for the price!!! Great, fresh, artistically displayed food from local growers. All cooked perfectly. Wines were extremely reasonable and the overall, a great meal!!! If you're in Pinehurt, come here!!

Special ocassion or for out-of-town
Secluded location with a hip and romantic setting makes this a good place for conversation.
The food is very good, focused on farm fresh ingredients. Has something for everybody. The "Cowboy Grill" was excellent entree. The lobster gnnochi and the seared Scallops were our favorite appetizers. Cheesecake is outstanding!! Best dessert. Some dishes and sauces felt overly sweet among the entrees. Overall the food is great and will not dissappoint. We love to come back here every time we visit Pinehurst. Service is friendly and up to the caliber of the restaurant.

Great Dining Experience
We enjoyed our dinner celebrating birthday - a special occasion thanks to Elliott's staff and kitchen. Good food, drinks, and service. Many thanks!
7/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
We made a last minute decision to drive to Pinehurst for dinner. They called to confirm our reservation and asked if we wanted to attend the wine tasting first. We enjoyed the tasting of summer reds and small bites. Then we went to dinner. Everything was wonderful. The plank grilled salmon was the best. The restaurant is undergoing construction but it was quiet in the evening. I've been to EOL several times and I've never been disappointed. I just wish is was closer to me.
7/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was a wonderful treat as a date night for my wife and I. Wonderful ambience and food. Give it a try!!
7/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
We visited Elliotts for a birthday celebration. As usual the salmon cooked on the cedar plank was excellent as were the cowboy skillet and lamb loin. The wahoo was good but a little dry.
Since it was a Monday night the restaurant was not busy and fairly quiet.
Overall a nice enjoyable meal and evening
7/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everything was wonderful. The seared scallops were amazing. We had the Sea Bass special of the evening and New York Strip. Both were cooked to perfection. We topped it off with creme brulee and cheescake; which were both devine!! Megan, our server, was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and right on time!!!

We went for our anniversary and best food in the Sandhills! Worth the hour drive!!

Great Drinks and Dinner in Pinehurs
Chef Mark Elliott certainly knows how to make a great dining experience! We enjoyed the setting and service, including cocktails by Michael at the bar, kitchen crew, and dining room staff. We will be back....

Excellent and innovative cuisine
Excellent and innovative cuisine from the cheddar and chive biscuits to the finish. We can never resist the potstickers or the salmon plank special. This a great restaurant.
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We enjoyed the restaurant and bar. Met the chef. Bartender Michael was excellent. Went for dinner came back the next night for appetizers and desert. A destination restaurant. We will come back.

Main courses not up to par
The appetizers were great but our main courses were just not as good as we would have liked. My husbands was over seasoned and my duck was tough and the flavors just did not go well together.

2nd visit as good as first
A year apart - but 2nd visit was as good as first - very pleased with food - service could have been better, but we shared server with table of 12 (it happens). My partner had the filet. It came with plenty of differing wild mushrooms/pearl onions and was cooked to my partner's wishes. I had a sauteed flounder with crab stuffing which arrived in a steamed baby butternut squash - a new and different presentation and flavors melded well. As an appetizer we had shared a bowl of mussels in a tomato bacon broth - well this is the South. It was also excellent.

Best restaurant in Pinehurst
After 2 days of eating at Pinehurst, we wanted something different and EOL was perfect.
We are Europeans and often find most portions too large, not enough variety, both in terms of the dishes themselves, and the ingredients.
Not so at EOL, although the calamari - very nice - was huge. A third of the size would be nice. I had crab cakes that were delicious - lots of crab meat - and served with salsa with chopped up vegetables. Simple but good.
My wife has elk as her main - never had it before - and it was tasty and tender. Served with mashed potato with vegetables in it. I had flounder - delicious.
Good wine list with a lot of wines by the glass - a real feature of EOL.
We visited on a Monday night and so it was relatively quiet.

A fabulous dining experience
This is probably the best regional restaurant for true lovers of gourmet chefs. The restaurant has a distinct country charm and is filled with people who are having a wonderful time but is not too loud due to a clever seating arrangement. I live about 50 miles which keeps me from eating there weekly. Do make a reservation, this restaurant is very popular with the greater Pinhurst crowd.
Incidently, they catered my daughter's wedding to rave reviews by all in attendance. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience.

We had some very picky friends from California with us on our visit and they were wowed with the service and creativeness of the food. The wine list was excellent and our server April made some great suggestions on wines were not familiar with. The Scottish salmon served on a cedar plank was flavorful and prepared to perfect doneness. The lamb was superb. This is a must place to dine when in Pinehurst. If you go early while the connecting stores are open you will find interesting kitchen doo dads and a specialty wine, cheese and meat counter.

Lively New Bar
We enjoyed a dinner for two in The Roost. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were excellent. We especially appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff, plus the amiable and expert Chef. Although we miss the original (small) bar, the new one is well conceived and comfortable even with larger groups and a crowd at the new bar. Wine-by-the-glass system is outstanding!

Never disappointed. Mark Elliot uses local ingredients in creative ways.

Love the local food choices. Also the options of bison, elk, duck, and Scottish Salmon. Mandy was the BEST waitress! We had fun and a delicious meal. Chef/owner Elliott came out to check on us and made homemade herb cheese biscuits to compliment our meals. Highly recommend.

Back to visit an old friend
Back in town again and had to visit Elliott's on Linden. Always finding interesting cocktails on the menu, eclectic appetizers, and new menu items mixed in with old favorites. Fresh is the word on the veggies as nothing "out of season" finds it's way on the menu. The puree of root vegetables was incredible as was the pork chop with sweet potato croquettes!!
11/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
We have visited Elliotts on
We have visited Elliotts on Linden three times and each time the food has been amazing and the service excellent! Its now one of our very favorite places.
11/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
Found this restaurant by accident while staying in Pinehurst last week. Food was good and well presented. The service was a little slow but in all fairness, there was a company function going on that night which also made it a little noisy. Will definitely go back on my next trip. Pricing was higher than our dinner at the Carolina Hotel.

Love some Elliott's!
We have been dining at Elliots on Linden for years. Never have we been disappointed. Make sure to have the Shrimp and Grits!
Excellent service! Fabulous food. We love that they are a farm to table restaurant. Highly recommended - will not disappoint.

Elliott's has never failed yet. I've been there 5 or 6 times and have never been disappointed. I had the strip steak which was cooked perfectly to my taste. My husband had the duck which has now become a favorite of his And the special salad was unusual and delicious -- romaine lettuce with fried green tomatoes and corn salsa and a lovely dressing I can't put my finger on. Always a pleasure to dine at Elliott's.
