I loved the place, the service and the food. No complaints at all. The price is expensive, but I already expected it. I totally recommend this restaurant for special occasions and also for groups of friends.

It was me and my girlfriends one year anniversary and I wouldn't of wanted to spend it anywhere else. The food and service was amazing!

Always the best
Whenever we are in New York or London, we always make a point of dining at Mr. Chow's. We have never been disappointed. Wonderful food, outstanding service and also great fun for people watching!

After a bad experience at
After a bad experience at the Mr. Chow in tribeca, it's good to know that the 57th st branch is as good as ever. Top notch in all respect.

There's a reason it's been around
It's like walking onto the set of a Busby Berkely movie. There seemed to be excessive staff when we got there, at 7:30, but by 8:30 it was jammed. My wife remembered the crispy seaweed from decades ago and had to have it; the evening started as a success and went up hill from there. The prices are high but the food is outstanding and the portions are generous. At one point a chef came out and wowed the audience as he started with dough and after a series of slams, tosses, and twists, ended up with Chow's famous noodles, to extended applause. I had the duck entree; it was by far the best duck I have ever had.My wife had the boneless sole poached in white wine, with a pot of shrimp rice that was uniquely superb. A total hoot of an evening.

Food was excellent, but I expected the service to be better.

Worth the value
Our dining experience in Mr. Chow was so nice, because of the food, service and ambience. When you visit NYC is a must!!

Delightful and accommodating
I have a very hard to please Auntie who loves Chinese food -- but she was certain she would not like this because I said it was healthier Chinese food and it cost more than the Chinese food she was used to... The staff at the restaurant bent over backwards to make sure we did not stand and wait out in the heat when we arrived early and their doors were still closed, that we had a table in a quiet area so she would be able to hear well and then there was the food -- the glazed prawns, soup dumplings, Dungeness crab (with the cloud of egg whites, filet mignon and mixed veges made her a believer. After every bite, she expressed surprise and delight at how good the food was. She now trusts me to choose again for her dining experience. :)
7/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food, the service and the ambiance made this a great time for my party and me.
7/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
GREAT FOOD,QUICK SERVICE EXCEPT FOR GETTING
A TABLE, TOO MUCH NOISE. IM ASSUMING DUE TO IT
BEING RESTAURANT WEEK. I HAVE BEEN AT OTHER
TIMES AND IT WAS NEVER LIKE THAT. OVERALL IT WAS

Went on resturant week . Sometimes your treated like a second class citzen during this special week. Mr Chow treated us like a regular dinner . Service was wonderful.Really a well run front and back of the house resturant.

Food delicious and consistent.
Food delicious and consistent. I recommend green shrimp, soupy dumplings, fried seaweed, chicken lettuce wraps and chicken satay.
Only problem is they clean plates while still eating. Overall you will not be disappointed.
7/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very nice restaraunt, we love it soo much. The food is stunning and sophisticated. Amazing crowd too
7/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Service was almost too good.
Service was almost too good. Plates were taken away as soon as you put down silverware. Felt a bit rushed. Having said that, it is some of the best Asian fusion food we have had.
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was very delicious.
We celebrated my son's 22nd birthday. From the moment we entered their establishment the staff was very polite. All of the food was delicious, but we loved the chicken satay, green prawns and chicken lettuce wrap. I definitely would return & recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was high quality, details details. Perfect portions and seasoned nicely. There was nothing outside of perfect.
7/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went for restaurant week and were delighted that we did. Although we both wanted the chicken satays for appetizers (fabulous!) we tried and shared everything else there was to offer for the main course and sides. Every dish was outstanding, from their green prawns even to the rice! While some dishes are a little too pricey if you are ordering off of the regular menu, the food does not disappoint and is certainly unique. Other reviewers indicated that they were rushed out the door during restaurant week, we were not.

Always a great dining experience
Always a great dining experience at Mr. Chow. Note, I don't like the Tribeca version nearly as much. Stick with the 57th one.
8/1/2013 5:00:00 PM
I loved the helpfulness of the waiter. The squab was very good along with the chicken satay sticks.
8/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went during restaurant week. Great food. Service pleasant and appropriatelt tined. Restaurant was very lively and had a vibrant crowd. Great contemporary decor. However restaurant noisy. No quiet areas. Steps to dining room. Known for homemade noodles. Prepared in front of crowd -- entertaining.
8/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Decor was outdated and old.
Decor was outdated and old. Also, overwhelming flower smell.
8/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
one of the best of restaurant week
This was my first time going to Mr. chow during restaurant week, although I have been there 5-6 times including their Beverly Hills location.
The service was impeccable even during the restaurant week, when restaurants tend to be busy and offer lousy service.
The food was great too. I can't wait to go back.
8/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Mr chows was pretty nice
We were in New York for the weekend and were able to get in at the last minute which was nice. The tables were physically pulled out to allow my wife in to sit. The table next to us was about 8 inches away. There was no drink list which made it very difficult to order a special wine for the occasion. The food was served family style which was nice and the food was very good. Mr chows noodles were amazing and green prawns were fabulous. We might consider going back but trying another location to see if the ambiance is better, we were at the midtown 57th location
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had a wonderful evening at Mr. Chow's.
The host and waiters were very attentive and very nice.
They made my birthday celebration enjoyable. The food
was delicious. I would definitely go back there again.
8/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Mr. Chow impressed me
It is a small place. The wait staff are quick and efficient. You think you may feel rushed but you actually don't. they're just so well coordinated. Food was amazing!
8/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Ambiance is Delightful
Love this place! The staff is wonderful and the ambiance is fabulous as always. Recommend it all the time to friends and family!
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
awesome awesome awesome
What I enjoyed was starting off all we had to tell our waiter was the foods we don't like and they handled and suggested the rest. Amazing from beginning to end.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
I've been coming to Mr. Chow
I've been coming to Mr. Chow for many years. Always a great meal with great service. Go to the one on 57th st. It's much better than the Tribeca version.
8/22/2013 5:00:00 PM
The restaurant was smaller then expected and the decor is quite dated. But it still had a fun vintage feel. Prices are very high, but the food is good. It was my first time there. Due to the price it will probably be the only time. Dinner, a bottle of wine and a glass of champagne each (3 people) cabe to almost $500.

The Chow Love
What an amazing experience. We let our server order everything for us.
It was one of the best meals I've ever had. The Ambiance is beautiful and
Lovely as well. A perfect place for a date.
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
A very beautiful restaurant.
A very beautiful restaurant. It was pretty empty when we got in though but it got lively after 7pm. Love the food!
8/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent food, excellent
Excellent food, excellent service! The place was packed when we arrived but our drinks came pretty fast. I tried both the lychee bellini and lychee martini and they were great. We had chicken satay, soup dumplings, gambler duck, and lamb shank with shrimp fried rice and baby bok choy as sides. Everything was perfect except my companion felt the soup dumplings didn't have enough soup inside. However, I thought they were just right since I had an accident at another place once and ended up wearing the soup for the rest of the day. Things got a little hectic when our entries and side dishes arrived but it was expected in Midtown. Luckily the staff was quick to remove empty dishes/glasses as well as the plant so we could have more room.

Avante garde chinese
Amazing food.. Like nothing you have ever eaten before. The only complaint was the tables are so close that my neighbor trying to sit down spilled my glass of champagne in my lap! Mortified.. Food made up for that experience. Dessert was paid for by such neighbor.
A must try for chinese without the dreaded MSG

I really enjoyed my good,
I really enjoyed my good, this wasn't my first experience eating at Mr Chows just this location and it was nice. I brought my 9 year old son along and he really liked the cuisine. Since the servings are communal style I feel they offer larger servings don't go there really hungry because you may leave still feeling that way only because of the serving size. The food is still great I will return again really soon!!
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Lovely food but very tight seating
Some of the best Chinese food we have had, really authentic and tasty with a simple but interesting menu, the speciality duck really looks worth a try if you are with a group. Seating to close together and not overly comfortable, strange choice of music.
Overall lovely food and worth a visit.
9/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Marveluos, but noisy....
We loved the meal... the Duck were excellent, the service very good and we do recommend the restaurant, but be prepared to dispute with other tables if you wish to be heard by other at your table...
9/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Glad to visit Mr. Chow's again!
It was a great meal and great service. Everything was perfect. It was my husband's birthday and this was the restaurant he most wanted to celebrate!
9/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food and service here are consistently excellent. When the chef comes out of the kitchen to make noodles, it is quite entertaining.
9/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very Good but would not return:(
Very disappointed in the Orange Crispy Beef...it was thin pieces like you would serve orange peel. Mushroom medley was delicious as well as the rice. The lettuce wraps were nothing special; I've made better and I've had better. The service is impeccable. The staff walks around with a bucket of various champagnes which one cannot possibly refuse. Pricey but I'm sure if you know what to order then you will do just fine.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was so much better than typical haute Chinese in NYC. Really the best.
Portions are small but very tasty. The filet was terrific.
Decor was a bit frou-frou/feminine for my taste. Better for a date than a business dinner.
10/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Food, always very good. Service, attentive. The room...hasn't changed in the 20 years I've been going there and somehow doesn't look tired. It is immaculately clean as well. My favs are the scallion pancakes, Ma Mignon and the duck was great.
I don't think there is a bad choice on the menu. While not over the top inventive, the food is very fresh, and always hot and served right from the kitchen. The only thing is that 35.00 a glass of champagne (and a small 2.5 oz glass) seems a bit steep and almost obnoxious. While tempting...stick with wine selections or cocktails.
Desert hits the spot, but needs to be upgraded.

FRIENDS BIRTHDAY, SHE HAD NEVER BEEN NOR HAD I, HAD A GOOD TIME, ONE WOULD SAY A LITTLE PRICEY, I WOULD SAY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. DIDNT TAKE LONG TO BE SEATED, SAT AT THE BAR UNTIL THAT TIME, DRINKS WERE GREAT, FOOD ONCE AGAIN WAS OUTSTANDING, SERVICE EXCELLENT, DONT MIND PAYING FOR THE ATTENTION.......
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Wonderful dinner and ambience
My partner- a total foodie) and I had a fabulous dinner at Mr. Chows. He has been a fan of Mr. Chow for years and was set on the nine season prawns as well the velvet chicken. We were not disappointed. It was easy to make an appointment. We were seated promptly on arrival and served these two delicious dishes that we relished.
It's a great place to go out for dinner with you special one and get some real good food.make sure you are hungry. We are planning to make it a regular stop at least once a month:)

Always a superb meal at Mr.
Always a superb meal at Mr. Chow on 57th st. Expensive but but worth it for what you get. Service is superb and the manager Kay is always a pleasure. Notice I said 57th. The one in Tribecca is not in the same class. So go uptown.

Great Food at Mr. Crow ~ NY, NY
I was in New York for the weekend and wanted to do as much as possible, while I was there. I went to dinner prior to going to a play that was scheduled for 8:00pm. My reservation was at 6:30pm and I was able to have a fantastic dinner at Mr. Chow (New York, New York location) and get to the show on time. The wait staff was wonderful and the food was very good. Keep up the great work Mr. Chow!!!

1st visit to Mr. Chow
Heavy doors lead you into a classic Chineese Resturant. Glass walls, black and white tables, could have been in Shanghai or Hong Kong in the 1930's. Mixture of people from all over the world. Food was best Chineese I have eaten since I was in the Orient. Friends told me of the resturant, they said it was the best. I now agree. Do not miss the Chineese noodle making, the chef does it in front of everyone at the resturant!!! Great Show, makes you want to eat more Chineese noodles even after you have had them earlier.Delicious, Delicous, Delicous!!!
