Why bother going to the north
Why bother going to the north end with this neighborhood gem in Cambridge? Excellent food, intimate and friendly atmosphere. Clearly a family-run business that takes pride in all aspects of food and service. The chef happily created something we wanted based loosely on the menu - we didn't ask to go off menu, the server offered when she heard my husband and I talk about our preferences!

Delicious and Cordial
Again, we had a terrific dining experience at T. Pulcinella. The only minor request is to turn up the lights just a tad. Otherwise, the Fish and Veal dishes were delicious, the service cordial and timely.

I almost did not write this
I almost did not write this wanting to keep this GEM to ourselves. Having lived in Italy and eaten in Italian restaurants around the world, I know this one is really great.

Great experience.... But....
The food was good, a little on the bland side, but it was good. I would have loved to see more choices on the menu.
Very friendly and knowledgable staff....

The way my wife and I refer
The way my wife and I refer to Pulcinella is that is a hidden gem, a cosy place on a nice quiet Cambridge neighbourhood with excellent food and service, we are always surprised that is not super busy, maybe I shouldn't be writing this review so it continues to be accessible.

If I was able to give it 6 stars, I would. This is simply one of those rare, very rare, places. Except for the currency we paid the bill with, there is no distinction between it and some of the most wonderful, off the beat and path, restaurants you would find in Italy. It truly ranks among the best - in food, in service and in ambiance.

Could not have been nicer
Went with a large party of kids and adults around Harvard commencement. Amanda and her staff could not have been nicer. A great little place with excellent food.

We are 'regulars' for a reason.
We love this place, a culinary refuge from the frenzy of nearby Harvard Square. The storefront dining room brings you into a european atmosphere with striking with wooden bough ceiling beams, romantic lighting, white linen tables, open kitchen at back, Wonderful authentic Italian cuisine prepared with finesse, no gloppy red sauce here, menu varies seasonally with a range of daily specials. Our party enjoyed a perfect seasoned medium rare grilled tuna steak special, as well as pasta with fresh mussels and clams, grilled branzino, and a simple elegant pasta with sauce of san marzano cherry tomatoes and basil. Shared tarta di pere with cappucino and small glasses of port made a sweet finish. Family owned, superb service, never stuffy.

They were very kind to bring
They were very kind to bring a birthday dessert with a candle to my friend who was celebrating her birthday without us having made that specific request. We were disappointed, however, that the tiramisu was the only dessert available that evening. It was a bit strange that they had a number of specials listed on the blackboard which also weren't available.

A local's favorite!
Maria and Giovanni are just wonderful hosts. The service is warm, relaxed, familial. I recommend the smoke mozeralla particularly. We went for my daughter's 10th birthday--she loved it; the treated us really well.

First: the servers are very friendly and helpful. We booked this last minute on a Saturday night and it was practically the only place with open tables. When we arrived it was almost empty so we were a little worried. However, we had a very good meal here. The pastas were fresh and cooked perfectly, the sauces were tasty and the meat dishes, while standard Italian fare, we're prepared we'll and a pleasure to eat. Our dessert was a pair tart and it was excellent. The wines were good enough and the check was reasonable. We will return.

Truly one of the more remarkable, true-to-form Italian restaurants. Tops any North End place and could rival many small restaurants that you'd find off the beaten paths of Italy.

We got there at 6:30.on a Friday. I was a little nervous when the place was empty. As we sat and enjoyed a great bottle of wine suggested by our waiter, people started to roll in. The service was second to none and the food was unbelievable. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes to eat delicious foods. Keep up the good work Trattoria Pulcinella!

This restaurant was fantastic! The food was superb: flavorful but not overpowering the food itself; perfectly matched flavors and textures; expertly cooked and beautifuly presented. Of note are the battered artichokes, veal braciole, the sausage, and the gnocchi. And the server (AMANDA!!!!) was so very helpful and pleasant, not in your face at all, and sincerly interested in how we liked things. The tiramisu is a must and we actually ordered a second after polishing off the first! You really deserve to treat yourself to this wonderful piece of Italy!

Best hand-made pasta
This was an undiscovered gem not far from our own Cambridge neighborhood. Some of the best handmade pasta I've had and our out-of-town guests enjoyed the non-pasta entrees as well. Knowledgeable, solicitous service, too!

North End w.o. the Hassles
We were in Cambridge for an afternoon theatre performance and decided to stay in the area for dinner. We found Trattoria Pulcinella which had a reservation at the time we wanted and was a reasonable walk. Turned out to be a lovely little family owned restaurant with very pleasant and knowledgeable server (daughter of the owners), unrushed warm ambience and very good food. My linguini alla carbonara was very good and without the greasiness that is often the plague with that dish. We also had a delicious antipasto with pickled eggplant that was delicious. We will definitely be back.

We've eaten at Trattoria Pulcinella
We've eaten at Trattoria Pulcinella twice and both times had a fabulous meal.

We've been going to Trattoria Pulcinella for years, and are never disappointed. It's one of the most authentically Italian restaurants in Greater Boston. Our most recent dinner was great -- interesting specials, relaxed pace, great wine and food recommendations. All four of us were happy with what we ordered. Veal and seabream specials big hits. Not overly fancy or inventive dishes, just really nicely prepared and seasoned food, prepared and served by folks who take pride in what they do. Bravo.

Never been disappointed with restaurant.
It is small (~10 tables) so personal service is assured.
