Santa Fe's finest
The main course was excellent, as always. Unfortunately, the lemon creme brulee made me forget everything else. There's not a better wine list in Santa Fe, and I appreciate being able to purchase a good bottle of wine for a good value,

What a beautiful place
We had a great dining experience and loved the food.
Our waiter was a bit unfriendly but nice.
We loved everything.

Lovely Terrace, Excellent Food
I expected the terrace to be beautiful, but was surprised by how large it is and well-organized. Staff were not detered by he aboundance of greenery--they brought our water, bread, etc right on schedule. The wait person was warm and fun but spot on in re to food recommendations. I loved the aztec dusted salmon w the yellow mole sauce--sublime--and cooked just to order. This quality is not what when expects from a restauant w a strong tourist business.

A great find!
Being foodies who travel constantly on business we were so pleased to find this restaurant. The food is creative and well prepared. The setting in the courtyard of the building for outdoor seating is beautiful and at the same time elegant. It was so good, that the next day we returned for lunch before leaving Santa Fe.

Don't have the chicken sandwich
Ihave been going ere for years and everything has always been great. This lat time my wife ordered the chicken sandwich, she won't do that again. Rubber chicken, we will go back but no chicken. Also the cole slaw was dry except for the glob of dressing in the middle.

I am a sucker for patio dinning!
Firstly the good stuff. I loved the patio, quiet, comfortable etc, the perfect place to dine. What a joy, but....... I had the antelope (special off the menu item, and expensive) the problem? nothing special just meat, shoulda had the lamb. What was more of a problem and leads to the 4 stars for food rather than 5 is that 2 of us had the potato fingerlings and both said the same thing " we don't like crunchy potatoes, many of them were just raw. Would I go back? In a heartbeat but I would order something a bit more interesting.

Thirty years of superb service, food and wine. I always recommend Las Casa Sena to my friends who can appreciate a great wine list and the time and attention that a good chef gives to their menu. Everything that I have ever ordered from lunch to dinner to dessert, has exceeded my expectations. The service staff performs well, never intrusive, always attentive. It's always a beautiful patio and dining rooms full of happy, interesting people enjoying themselves in one of the best restaurants in Santa Fe. It's a place for special memories.

Anniversary Celebration Gem
We had dinner at Casa Sena for our wedding anniversary. Because it was a special occasion we were seated next to the fountain which we loved. The appetizer we were served was shrimp with chopped up mangos -- and it was to die for! Dinner was the Aztec Dusted Salmon - also excellent! We love quinoa so it was a very nice addition to the dish. The Lemon Creme Brulee was wonderful. Very good choice of wines too. We will definitely come back again!

An oasis in the heart of Santa Fe!
We dined here on a Friday afternoon and we were treated to a beautiful courtyard dining experience! The beautiful trees and fountain made us feel like we were on vacation even though we live in Albuquerque! It was my husband's birthday and our waiter brought out a delicious lemon cream brûlée to celebrate! We could not have enjoyed our experience more! We will definitely return!

Special occassion treat in Santa Fe
Competition among restuarants in Santa Fe makes for continuous efforts in service, atmosphere and food. We have enjoyed La Casa Sena for many years. Nice for dinner before the opera, for special occasions and for just absorbing the Santa Fe feel. Don't miss the appetizers as there are some tasty selections - the cold soups and beet salads are tops. There is a special wine list with very good selections - all at $40 per bottle. We could not get the patio for Saturday but were seated in a small dining area overlooking the patio. Great ambiance, super service from our waiter Shawn. Thanks to La Casa Sena for making us feel welcome.

Patio dining at it's finest
La Casa Sena is a beautiful spot for lunch or dinner just off the Plaza in Santa Fe. The patio seating could not be more beautiful or pleasant. The food is great, and the service as well. While being very romantic, it is also very energetic with a feeling of being in the heart of Santa Fe. It's a great place for lunch or dinner; for a casual eat or a special occasion. We love this restaurant and have driven up from Albuquerque just to eat there.

We went to Santa Fe to have a special dinner as we prepare to send our son off to college. Initially, we were disappointed because we wanted to hear the wait staff sing, however, there was a special event that evening that was sold out. ( diners double check before you drive up ) We were seated in the main dining area near a window and enjoyed looking out at the lovely patio. The service was great, food was a 6 out of 10, but you don't really mind because the ambience , great service, and reasonable prices make the food seem not as important. That said, the food was fine and we all enjoyed our meals. The shrimp and halibut ceviche- a big winner (appetizer) with my guys. Chicken enchiladas were good, chili mild, tourist chili for sure : ).

Wonderful Food and Service
What a fantastic dinner! Make sure to make a reservation, only because they really seemed to appreciate the fact that we'd done so.
We sat outside in the center atrium and were treated to the best service in quite some time. The food was very good, but the service was excellent. The wine list is exceptional (60 pages!).

Every bite wonderful
We had dined in the Cantina on many occasions, enjoying the musical numbers sung by the waitstaff. While the food in there is good, we chose to try the main restaurant this night, which we hadn't done in years. We sat outside in the beautiful plaza, under the giant cottonwood trees, next to a bubbling fountain and surrounded by flower gardens. We enjoyed the veggie sampler appetizer, a grilled salmon with yellow mole, and diver scallops with sautéed zucchini. Every bite was fabulous. A frozen sour cream blueberry sundae and s'more with fresh baked oatmeal cookies and homemade marshmallow topped of a great experience.

Lovely Santa Fe Staple
Friends of ours who live here were married in this lovely garden like patio. We were there for a pretheater dinner, and our server was very helpful in allowing us to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. We did not have some of the very interesting specials (if a bit pricy) such as antelope and sea bass, but my husband enjoyed their enchilada plate, a cut above the usual Mexican restaurant according to my husband, and I had lentils and quinoia cooked in a banana leaf, a very nice dish. Cocktails were imaginative and delicious.

Five star restaurant!
Delightful setting, creative chef, superb service, memorable experience.
Thanks for being wonderful and for getting better and better.
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
The chips and guacamole were tasty with Sangria! The Rib eye and green Chile mash potatoes were also very good. I had forgot my Birthday coupon but they gave me a free dessert anyway!

outdoor dining on lovely patio
I was here for lunch and able to sit outside on the patio, with its trees shading the tables. Service was very good, even though most of the tables were filled. The menu offered interesting appetizers and main courses - I tried an excellent mushroom tamale and a sampling of 3. One was a wonderful crusted shrimp. A lavender mojito rounded out a very enjoyable lunch.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very impressive dining experience
This is a well known and well regarded restaurant in Santa Fe. Parking can be challenging. Food, overall, was very good. However, menu needs a bit more variety, and a few of the presentations need to be improved.
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Almost every time that we are in Santa Fe we have a meal at La Casa Sena. We have had both lunch & dinner & have never been disappointed.
8/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
LOVED this place. Perfect
LOVED this place. Perfect for a Santa Fe meal if you don't want all-out Southwest-Mexican food, but a sophisticated twist on New Mexican cuisine.
Loved the drinks too.
And the outdoor area and umbrellas were just perfect on a summer day in Santa Fe.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
We always have La Casa Sena on our agenda whenever we are in Santa Fe. The setting is perfect, the service excellent and the food always very good. They continue to make the reinvestments in their facilities to enhance the dining experience.

We had read some negative
We had read some negative reviews but opted to go anyway. Are we glad we did! Courtyard ambiance was wonderful, our server, Ian, was prompt, helpful and pleasant. Food was very nice. Don't miss it if you are in Santa Fe!

Best Courtyard in Santa Fe
La Casa Sena has the best courtyard in Santa Fe. It is great for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed being outside for a leisurely and attentive lunch on a beautiful afternoon in Santa Fe. This is definitely a go-to place for me!
8/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
After a very disappointing experience with a new "organic" menu two years ago coupled with mediocre service, we returned to La Casa Sena this year to find some sanity restored to the menu and the long-time chef putting out fabulous dishes like old times. And the restaurant has managed to do it without abandoning the concept of healthy eating. Service was also excellent. The outdoor summer dining in an old Spanish courtyard setting cannot be beat anywhere, and the wine list continues to be outstanding, if not the best in Santa Fe.

Best fish dish ever!
This is my 4th dining experience at Casa Sena this yr. I always bring my out of town guests here. Because of my new puppy we dined on the outdoor patio which was beautiful- guitar music was playing in the backround which just added to the total ambiance. The special seabass with apple risotto was a smash hit- best fish we have had in years better than the fish restaurant in Newport Beach! The chocolate pudding cake with the lattes were also fabulous. A great experience.

Dining in the gorgeous La Casa Sena courtyard was the clear dining highlight of our 5-night SF stay. Wonderfully tasty, prepared, and presented food start to finish, relaxing service pace, and fair prices for such an outstanding meal. And oh that warm, intimate, and stunning courtyard ambience. A memorable evening in every way.

We really love La Casa Sena for dinner. I look forward to the Goat Cheese and Sweet Corn Croquettes each time we eat here!

For appetizers. Dinner ok but the appetizers were fantastic. They make their own pita type bread and we bought some to take home to arizona. They are special. Indoor dining room lovely and noise level perfect.

Better than its reputation
Deserves it reputation. Diverse menu and Wine spectator list, with most items available at lunch, mid-afternoon and dinner. The Sommelier is exceptionally knowledgeable. Full page of wines by glass @ $10, $40 bottle.
The Farmer's Salad, with a blend of brightly colored and crisp seasonal vegetables, was richly flavored, just a bit over-dressed. The highlight of the night was the mushroom tamale that we shared. This was the best masa we have had. They cook some mushrooms in the masa and form the tamale, then surround it with sauteed mushrooms and crispy shallots. Diners have the option of southwest dishes and meat entrees. We enjoyed the tamale so much that we returned the next day and had one for lunch!
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Main room very pretty with fireplace. If u like casual ask for the back. I ate up front and it was relaxed but elegant. Nice wine list and interesting food
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great service from Pat and the rest of the staff. Restaurant was quiet on a Sunday night so noise level may have been more if it had been crowded. Love that there is a nice selection of wine of all varieties for $10 a glass. Makes the decision so much easier removing the should I get the $8 glass or the $12 glass. They may all be overpriced but you don't have to feel like you 'know' how to decode the list. We didn't order entrees instead choosing 4 starters since everything looked so good. Server did not bat an eye over that. Overall great night.

All around great
Good food peaceful setting and excellent service from our waiter Sean. We will return and send friends.

Great food. Great service. No holds barred. Will make it my "go to" place as the cold weather comes on and the fire is burning in the fireplace. Whether singularly or with guests.

Was there on a winter night
Was there on a winter night at 7:30 and by 8:00 were the only people left in the main room--Santa Fe does not stay up late in the winter--but the ambience was cozy, with fireplace and pillars. Food ranged from good to excellent--we had several appetizers; especially recommend the Fry Duo, which was delicious.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
The ambience of the dining room, an attentive and knowledgeable wait staff make this a really special place to dine. Ideal for an anniversary or other special meal when visiting Santa Fe. The wine list is extensive, something for all tastes and pocketbooks.
11/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
The cuisine was innovative and delicious, including seared romaine salad and banana cream puff. We greatly appreciate the quiet dining experience so everyone can easily converse!
11/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
We had a fixed price Thanksgiving meal so did not experience the full effect of an outstanding menu. The wine list was especially extensive. All of the courses were delicious and nicely presented. The wait staff was professional and not at all rushed considering the crowded evening. A very positive experience. would like to try again on a non-holiday evening next time.

One of Santa Fe's best
The restaurant scene in Samta Fe keeps getting better all the time, but this lovely old favorite is at the top of its game. The menu ranges from the always-available green chile cheeseburger to carefully thought-out and beautifully executed dishes like Diver's Scallops on a bed of oregano- scented sautéed zucchini and purple potato chips with a fiery Harissa sauce. Desserts are equally beautiful--try the subtle lemon creme brûlée. Wonderful art hanging on the walls and a welcome, conversation-friendly noise factor.
