Our group of five had fun
Our group of five had fun trying all different dishes and sharing plates. This is a great place for groups, dates, and anyone who likes a slightly Americanized version of Spanish tapas.

My favorite place to eat before
My favorite place to eat before a Caps game. Service is fast and sensitive to the fact we are all trying to get to the game. The new Caps menu is terrific with plenty of choices.

Good food, sangria, and service!
Went to this restaurant before a concert at the Verizon Center. It is very convenient to that location. Initially, they sat us in the very back with my husband's back to the restaurant and staring at a wall (though they were not crowded). We asked to move and they were immediately accomodating. Santiago was an excellent server, who provided great advice on how/what to order and also impeccable service. The Dátiles con Tocino should not be missed! Patatas Bravas were also wonderful. My husband and I had a great time - the entiree experience was exceptional. We loved trying all of the different foods and sangrias - you will too!

I was a little skeptical of
I was a little skeptical of coming here for dinner as opposed to happy hour because the happy hour is such a great deal. However, on an incredibly crowded day during the height of the cherry blossoms tourist week I was seated at a good table out of the way of the myriad of people and with a view of concert goers heading to the Verizon center (excellent people watching). The peaches and cinnamon sangria did not disappoint and neither did the Patatas Bravas.

Great spot near the Metro
I have been to 2 La Tasca locations - the one in Baltimore, and this one near the Verizon Center in DC. My mom, sister, and I stopped there before a concert and had a great dinner! Our server was extremely helpful and very nice (and easy on the eyes!). We had a great meal and a seat right by the window, so we could see what was going on in the street. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

As always, La Tasca and their interesting tapas was exactly what we wanted before the Wizards game.

Good tapas with great taste
Good tapas with great taste and surprisingly good presentation. Excellent sangria. Pleasantly surprised for a last minute choice, and moderate price. Only negative: don't order too many dishes at once as they were brought out too quickly.

Our group of four ordered
Our group of four ordered one of the two sets of small dishes, which, at about $65, provided all four of us with a varied and satisfying meal. Each dish was interesting, and something we could not cook at home. A personal favorite was the calamari with aoili. We ordered a jug of sangria, which went well with our meal. We requested and got a quiet table, and could carry on a good conversation all evening.

I'm not stranger to La Tasca, I keep coming back because I enjoy the friendly atmosphere, fine wine, and dining experience. It's a great restaurant for lunch or dinner.

I always enjoy meeting up with my friends for lunch because place is quiet enough where you can cengage in a conversation and feel relaxed.

Good food, the two Sangria's
Good food, the two Sangria's we tried were excellent. Only disappointment was the banana dessert was either unavailable or removed from the menu. Found this odd because that dessert appeared on the "Taste of Spain" menu available throughout April.

Great menu items. Lots of dishes to choose from and the staff were very knowledgable about each dish. I went with a group of eight 8) people, everyone had a great time, especially, with the relaxed ambience - the food was great! Didn't have to wait long once we ordered. What more could you ask for.... great tapas, sangria, good friends, and conversation.

Perfect for Love
Great place to celebrate, chat, taste different foods, all were very yummy!!. Sangria was just ok, wine was much better.
5/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
I've lived here for many years, yet had not been to La Tasca. My daughter and I were going to a show at the Verizon Center, and the usual restaurants for this demographic were booked. We got in, ate in a timely, yet relaxed manner, and except for one order mix-up, had a wonderful meal.

Great for pre-concert dining
Went to La Tasca before a concert and the service was quick and knew we were on a tight schedule. The food was very good and was enjoyed by our entire party. Highly recommend for a nice dinner prior to a concert Verizon Center.
5/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
Fun and delicious
Sangria and food were both excellent, and the atmosphere was celebratory. The only issue was the kitchen seeming to lose some of our food items and taking way too long with our cheese plate.

Super Delicious Food!!
4 of us ate at La Tasca on the evening of May 16, 2013. The food was out of this world. We've had tapas in multiple locations in Spain, and this was very authentic. The newbies in the group also raved about the food and service. Next time we're in DC (for next year's conference if not sooner) we will definitely eat at LaTasca again. Can't recommend it highly enough. One note, it seems to be the trendy hotspot near Gallery Place, just off the metro stop. Lots of 20-30 somethings enjoying their time in the bar area. We ate downstairs where we could at least hear each other. But of course, we were not concerned about talking/listening while we ate all that fabulous food. Totally decadent!

Noisy Eats, but Decent Food
My friend & I ate here before a show and it was a good choice. The food was pretty good, but the Cadillac Sangria was what made the dinner great and was a steal at only $18 for a 1/2 litre! Dessert was spectacular!

Great food and location
Plenty of room during the week - nice place to meet online dates.

Hubby picked this place and we were able to get 6 tapas plus 2 desserts for $50.

Fantastic! It's our 3rd time there and it's always a pleasure :)
The food is very good, the staff is nice and efficient, the place is family friendly. We are 5 gluten free and they handled it with professionalism. They also have a very interesting reward program and unlimited tapas deal. Check out their website and register!

The service was great and everything was delicious. Definitely a place for trying new types of food, they have a variety of sangrias. The traditional was great.

Great for Happy Hour
This is the perfect place to dine on a budget during Happy Hour. It's by far a quiet place...more vibrant and energetic. We ordered the Sangria which was delicious. The tapas menu has several options. The calamari was just okay. It wasn't really seasoned that well. However I did love the fried mussels. The empanadas were great but I wish they had a vegetarian option.
7/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
They have made some changes to dishes that were not expected. Overall very good. I would not ever have the watermelon kiwi sangri - we should have stuck with the sangri with apples or the one with peaches.
8/13/2013 5:00:00 PM
I love spanish food and "La Tasca" menu offer an unparalel balance of taste, prices and service. Their sangria is one of the best and a vareity of tapas to choose and try, difficult to make a decision because all are delicious. Even veggies have options here. Either you are alone or with a companion dining at "La Tasca" is an unforgetable moment.

Going to the Verizon center?
Great place for tapas before a show or game at Verizon.
9/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent food. Great ambiance.
I had a small get together with Friends. We ordered two pitchers of Sangria. It was very tasteful and not overpowering. We then had the tapas and paella special. It was during Happy Hour and there was a larger party there too. I pleased how easy it was to hear my friends astound the table. The staff was friendly and helpful.
9/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
La Tasca is a great place for both large and small groups. Especially great for the person who can't make up their mind, foodies who love to sample, as well as a group of people with different food aversions. If the menu is overwhelming, simply ask their knowledgeable servers for their opinion. Sangrias are a nice size and reasonably priced. Best experienced when you have several hours to dine. You will not be dissatisfied.

The service was outstanding. The ambience very nice.
it would be great if the menu could include one other option besides Paella, that would be a large sharing dish for 4 or 5.

Great Date Night Spot
Diversity and complexity of flavors was incredible. Service was attentive but not smothering. Really great seats outlooking to the Verizon center. Will definitely check out again.
10/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is a typical hot spot for myself and friends. It is a great place to hangout, drink delicious sangria and enjoy fantastic tapas! I lived in Barcelona, Spain for a short time -- I visit La Tasca everytime I need a spanish food fix!

My husband and I were visiting
My husband and I were visiting for Veteran's Day weekend- we loved the food and took advantage of the wine special going on at the time. Only comment for improvement would be that we would have preferred to get our tapas in stages- we received them all at once and b/c of this they quickly became room temperature as we were sampling everything. Also the night we went it was quite loud- mostly due to us being located near the front door- there was an extremely loud and rude woman who was practically leaning over my chair as she was waiting for her table and talking loudly with her friends. I give the food an A+ and we cannot wait to go again next time we visit DC area.

Great Chinatown Dining.
The food is affordable and good. A rarity in DC. If you are interested in having a few people for dinner this place is great. The Tapas or shared plates make it easy for everyone to sample and still get full!

Went before the concert at Verizon. Got in quickly. Prompt service. Good food. The one drawback was the noise level; made it hard to converse.
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
Good food, but . . .
On a Saturday night, even early, the place was jumping. Three of us had to shout at each other over the tabletop in order to converse. Service was fine, and the food generally good, though I think Jaleo is much more creative.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great tapas. Not too big or small of portions. It was a bit loud unless you sat in the front. Very good sangria selection too!
11/19/2013 4:00:00 PM
good pre theater dinner
Great place to get a few snacks and drink before the theater if you don't want a big dinner.
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great food, so so service
So I love going here and love the tapas and sangria, but the service is a little lacking and slow, and we were seated in a cold corner of the restaurant that forced my friend to wear her coat during the whole dinner. This was the second time that has happened, and so that's not very good. Otherwise, though, I do love the tapas and sangria.

Our small group of 3 visited
Our small group of 3 visited a bit after the lunch rush. We were seated instantly and the wait staff were quite attentive. Our waiter made a recomendation for the sample platter of tapas. There was more than enough for all of us and the food was outstanding. Definitely will return and strongly recommend for lunch or dinner!

A Night in DC with Dinner and TSO
Excellent pre-dinner choice. It is a bit loud but we were seated on time with our reservations at 5:45. With
Cocktails, dinner with dessert we steped across the street to the Verizon Center at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 show. Food was excellent as well as the service. I can't wait to visit again.

This was my second time to La Tasca, and again I was impressed. As soon as you walk in the beautiful colors of the restaurant give you a wonderful warm welcome. The wait staff each have hispanic and spanish accents, which gives you a very authentic feel while you are dining. This being my second time here, I ordered completely differently and it certainly did not upset. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
