A Cap Hill gem
The steamed buns and lobster ramen are both stellar!

The lobster ramen with the poached egg was AMAZING!

Really cool dishes, very tasty Asian/seafood combos. The crab dynamite app was AMAZING, and I've never seen so much bone marrow in anyone's roasted bone marrow app as this - three shanks with tons inside.

We ate here last trip to Denver, and this year made sure to eat here twice as we enjoyed it so much. Didn't dissapoint, and glad to see Mike still behind the bar in the open kitchen. Great great place.
Be sure to listen to specials, and what the kitchen reccomends. Wine is great, and the coctails are inspired. Food, well it's excellent. Have tried pretty much all that's veggie/seafood friendly on the menu, and loved it all.
For the meat eaters, marrow bone and sticky buns seem to be very popular.
This is a must when in Denver.

Excellent food! Quite noisy
Excellent food! Quite noisy and small which gives it the impression of popularity. The food was worth it. Small well developed wine list. Make sure to have reservations for Friday and Saturday dinner. I can't wait to go back!

Bones is a fanstic gem of a place that puts out some great food that is executed well. We enjoyed several plates to share and large bowls of our own for our ramen choices.

Bones Always Delivers
Impeccable food from another Bonnano gem. Nice compact wine list with some great by-the-glass selections which pair nicely with the soups and pork buns! Accommodating staff (too noisy inside, and asked to be moved outside during cocktails... they pleasantly agreed). Had a fantastic experience, and always have.

I have been to Bones several times now and I always enjoy it. It is such a small space, the noise is always somewhat of an issue but not to bad. For some reason we always seem to get squeezed into the tiny table by the front door. It's unfortunate. I wish it was a bit bigger. It is just so condensed. However, the food is enjoyable so the size can't keep me away.

Order the steamed buns with pork belly! Amazing! After eating here we went directly to Linger to compare with their steamed buns with pork belly and although it was very very close, Bones held out. I would definitely return to both places. Side note: it is also recommended that after a stop at Bones, then Linger, the next stop should absolutely be Root Down for the Banana Creme' Brulee to finish the night.

We went on Mother's Day for dinner and sat outside. The patio area is nice on a warm day and it was a pleasant spot to watch the urban scene wandering/driving by. We split the pork buns- an order of each kind for appetizers. They were quite good. I really enjoyed my udon. My son got the lobster ramen and was quite impressed. I tasted a bit of the broth which was delicious. My S/O got the curry and this brussel sprout hating guy ate them (and the rest of the curry) right up. Portions were good sized; two of us couldn't finish our main courses but the twenty-something son took on the task. Nice, well thought out re-imaginings of steamed buns, ramen and udon.

AWESOME Suckling Pig
Wow - I can't get enough of the sticky buns and the Bones Gin & Tonic. Great for summer

This is an excellent place to go for a quiet evening out. I would recommend Bones as a unique Japanese culinary experience.

Creative delicious menu
I have been to "Bones" two times and on both occasions I the food was outstanding. The menu options are creatively delicious.
The service is very good and there was not a wait for a table. I am surprised that this place is not always busting at the seems with people, The prices are very reasonable and it is a top rate dining experience. I will definitely return to Bones.

Good food, a little pricey
Food and portions are good, may seem a little overpriced for a bowl of noodles though
6/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Reliable and good
Love what they do with the noodle. I always get the shiso peppers and you can't beat the ice cream. I like that the wine list has a variety of prices but I always end up with sake.

Delicious Food and Great Service
I had been to Bones twice and had to take my husband there to try their Romen. We went there for our anniversary dinner. The Romen was delicious! We were also surprised to an amazing and beautifully artistic dessert for our anniversary. The chefs and waitstaff provide excellent, quality service!

First Night in Denver
I took my wife to this restuarant for our first night out in Denver. We just moved into our apartment and found Bones. The food, ambiance, and service was wonderful. We met such nice locals since the seating is very european. It was a great way to spend one of many nights in Denver.

Bones is perfection
We recently went to Bones for a friend's birthday and loved our experience. Everything from the drinks, to our server to our fantastic food was perfect. A most excellent evening. Our server was very knowledgable of all things on the menu and expertly answered our questions and made recommendations. We ordered many small plate appetizers and finished each one completely! The buns & the Brussels sprouts are not to be missed! Can't wait to come back!!

Love those Pork Belly Steamed Buns!
3 of us shared and enjoyed several appetizers and drinks. We had to order a second plate of the Pork Belly Steamed Buns..they are awesome!

Bones is Great
Went with friends who are well-versed in the Denver dining scene and loved it so much, I took other friends there a few days later. Great food (we tried nearly everything between us) and drinks but nothing pretentious about it. Will miss it when I go back to LA!

Just expect an interesting
Just expect an interesting take on Asian food mixed with Mexican cultures and seasonal additions creatively pared. Such as: in season Palisade Peaches grilled with deep fried squash blossoms/chipotle sauce for a Mexican flare as well. We shared the Soba noodles, cold with sashimi tuna. Of course the pork buns to start off always fantastic and addictive!
Not so crazy about the only dessert on menu/soft serve ice cream. Although fun and well crafted even if you want it in a cone, it still seems inappropriate. Guess I'm not the soft serve ice cream fan in general.
Hey, for us sugar addicts perhaps something else like a lemon tart or chocolate something?

Enjoyable people and great food!
Always love that I can come get my favorites (steamed buns) but also that every time I try something new on the menu...its fantastic!

No bones about it
Love this place, service is always excellent. Food does not disappoint!

Minimalist Menu + Mom
With a small menu, I would expect very impactful dishes, and was not disappointed. The steamed buns with pork belly were amazing as were the brussell sprouts and potstickers. They could be a meal or staff allows you to "add one" to make four to split. Order immediately, they take 15 min to prepare. The udon noodle dish was average. I'd go back for the buns again and again.
They did their best to accomodate a stroller but the space is not kid friendly even though the staff was up for it. Leave the kids at home. It was on the pricey side for our ladies lunch, but my app choices contributed. We had one cocktail apiece. Their homemade tonic in the Bones G+T was extraordinary. Would go back again to try some more.

Bones G & T was a great kickoff to this fun meal. Waitstaff is young, pretty, enthusiastic and mostly well trained. We enjoyed it and will return!
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
If you go to Bones, you must get the steamed pork buns. To die for! This place is worth the visit and you will surely return. The food is upscale without being pretentious.
8/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Tasty starters and great noodle bowls. This visit was our first and four our anniversary. We were greeted as we walked in and sat immediately. Then offered some bubbly sake to celebrate as we looked over the menue. The waitress was very nice and attentive. She gave a great overview of the options on the menu and offered suggestions that we took and loved. We wil be back!
9/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
The escargot potstickers and bao buns were wonderful as was the seaweed salad. This is a great little place. We will definitely be back for more.

Good for date night.
We've been to Bones on several occasions. The food, flavors and service have always been great. Good wine too.

Perfect Date Spot
If your date is down for a culinary adventure, try this place out! We both LOVED our dishes, and the service was attentive but but not overbearing.
I had the Udon bowl (with pork) and it was delicious and filling. Will be back (soon I hope)!
10/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
Enjoyed Bones overall; good flavors and atmosphere. Only criticisms involve portion size. I get that you cannot expect large amounts of food, but the bowls without broth are just tiny amounts. One example was the trout soba bowl. Another in our party got the $27 scallops and was starving after, and she's 100 lbs. The appetizers are good but again just tiny.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had a Bonnano gift card, so thought we'd give Bones a try. We showed up for happy hour and enjoyed the pork belly steamed buns, a seaweed salad, and a couple of cocktails. The G&T was especially tasty.
Already kind of full from appetizers and not wanting a giant meal, our server suggested either the pork udon or lobster ramen, as they would be easy to split. We picked the ramen, which was so buttery and satisfying, half a portion farmed to hit the spot.

Bones has consistently great
Bones has consistently great food and service. Tables are managed very well considering the small space.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
The pork bun appetizer is to die for. Main courses are very good noodle dishes that can be well-paired to their dozen or so of various sakis. Staff know their stuff and if you sit at the counter, it is fun to banter with the chefs as they prepare eveyone's meals.
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
while the food was amazing as always, the service was not. it was sub par. our waitress was snooty, and tried to rush us out the door. we sat down about 6:10 pm for our 6 pm reservation, and the first thing out of her mouth was "your reservation was for 6 pm, and this table is reserved again at 730 pm." and then she gave us a rude look as we all looked at her like "wtf." NOT APPRECIATED.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
If you like sticky buns the pork bellies are the best! We also had the duck bowl and it was yummy too. Happy hour wine was reasonable and good. Only complaint is it's getting to be the time of year where sitting next to the window is chilly...so if that bothers you ask for seating away from picture window.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM

You simply have to order the Pork Belly Pork Buns when you come here! A great starter to the Lobster or Udon noodle bowls and served by an efficient and gracious staff.
This wasn't our first rodeo with Bones and know we'll be back again and again.

Like no other place
Go to Bones for the food first! The atmosphere is 'city'. Anyone from a big city will recognize the minimalist bent towards focusing on the food but making the atmosphere presentable and pleasant and inviting. You can watch the cooks prepare your food, even get up close at the eating 'bar' overlooking the cooking zone. Never overdone, the food focuses on your tasting all the ingredients and I never have had to send anything back - ever and we eat there 3x a week lunch and dinner! The staff is friendly and the turnover is minimal, which means they love working there and are taken care of which leads to a great meal and experience for me!

Amazing food... poor service
When we arrived on a cold evening (with reservations), we were greeted by the wait staff and given a choice of where to sit, either at a table or at the bar. Since it was a cold night and it is a small space, we asked to sit somewhere NOT near the front door, which would swing open occasionally, letting in super cold air. Unfortunately, the waitress who greeted us informed us that since this is a small place "every table was near the door," and to our dismay, we were promptly sat one table removed from the door. Not more than five minutes elapsed before an older couple came in and were seated as far away from the front door as allowable. This happened once more, perhaps a minute later. I thought this was incredibly rude and in poor taste.
