Enjoyed a quiet Sunday evening
Enjoyed a quiet Sunday evening with family. Good food. limited menu (pre theatre only)probably due to slow Sunday eve.
Enjoyed the food and service.
Our stay at Algonquin was delightful in every way.
Also recommend the Blue Bar.

Elegance of a bygone era
A most enjoyable, albeit quick, lunch as we were heading for a theatre matinee.
You could almost feel what it must have been like when Benchley, Parker and the rest of the Algonquin Set were in full-flight.
Good food, friendly staff and the cat perched on the reception desk.

Historic and full of class.
Historic and full of class. Had dinner with a VIP and the venue met all our expectations and left a great impression on our guest.

if I could give 6 stars...I would!
An amazing experience on all levels. Warm, welcoming staff, quiet, cozy seating in a historic venue and delicious food and drink. I was able to dine here with a friend because I had a travel zoo voucher and while there was a set format for what was covered, they made almost everything on the menu available and treated us like "regular" customers. Highly recommend for dinner. Get the Texas Millionaire cocktail! And yes you can say hello to Matilda the cat when you're there.

Had a voucher from travel zoo, 2 cocktails, 2 starters and 2 entrees. Food was very good and the cocktail even better. Brilliant value for money.

Dorothy Parker was not in the room
Finally had a chance to get to the newly renovated Round Table at the Algonquin. The food was quite good but our waiter was not really paying attention. I asked for Red Velvet Cake for dessert, got Chocolate Mousse Cake. We rarely complain about pricing when we realize that we are staying in a "high rent district" but $17.00 for a glass of not very good Chardonnay. The selections overall were a real disappointment.

A Literary Gem
This was our second visit to the Alogonquin and the Round table. What brings back is the friendly staff whether for dinner or the fantastic breakfast they are always friendly making sure you have a wonderful experience. The Alogonquin is the perfect fit for us while visiting NYC the reassurance and hotel is a quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle.

It was a perfect dinner before heading off to the show. Great atmosphere and lovely menu.

Enjoyed dining in such a quiet off the track spot. The waiters left us alone thank goodness. No "Is everything alright?" interrupting the conversational flow. Thanks for understanding.

Great Pre-Theatre Dinner
We enjoy the special fixed price Pre-Theatre Dinner. Each course was perfect from the salad to the desert. Timing was excellent.

A great place for friends to meet
I have always loved the Algonquin. It is a great place for lunch or dinner. We even had a memorial service there a few years back and the Algonquin was the perfect place for it. The food is always perfect. Although I expected more people to be there having lunch, It was great to be able to sit down with my cousin whom I had not seen in a few years and catch up with her. We were there for a couple of hours and the service could not have been any better. Every time I go to New York, I have to go to the Algonquin for lunch or dinner.

Old Victorian Restaurant
The Round Table is a treat. It is taking a walk back in time when the world was less complicated. It 's atmosphere is quiet and great. The food was good too. We both had the pre theatre dinner.

They were very accommodating when I asked to move our reservation back an hour. When we got to the restaurant, we were the only diners there (it was a Sunday night). The server wasn't very friendly, but the server assistant was wonderful. The food was delicious and prepared wonderfully, but my portion was a little small for the price. I don't think we would have dined there if we weren't staying at the hotel, and if we didn't have a credit on our account. It was enjoyable.

This is an attractive, upscale restaurant with a literary history. The server we had, Alamgir, was so attentive and so helpful. He made us feel so comfortable and yet, special.

Everything was good and the $100 +/- for two for dinner was good by NYC standards. However, I considered Breakfast very expensive at $78 (both including tips). If we had stayed longer we would have gone out for breakfast. Very good wait staff.

very fresh eggs prepared perfectly and served piping hot

The Literati and the common man
This was our first visit to the Algonquin Round Table and we enjoyed immersing ourselves in the history of the round table and (yes, don't tell) we used our smart phones to look up various bios of the famous from Dorothy Parker to Robert Benchley to Broun, etc.
We chose the pre-fixe menu which began (for us) with a delicious arugula salad. I was so grateful that the portion was not the usual itty bitty salad one gets with a dinner. I could (seriously) be happy eating that salad for appetizer and for entree! But I would definitely want the cheesecake for dessert again. We observed serious couples and bar patronsand a family with four children, all enjoying the same historic dining and bar area. Close to cheap parking and theatre.

Good for a business lunch
This is an excellent location for a business lunch where you want some privacy and quiet. The food is very good and basic, fairly simple fare.

Midtown Find The Round Table
We had a purchased a Travelzoo deal for the Round Table at the Algonquin, the food, service, location & restaurant were wonderful. When I booked the reservation I mentioned we were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary, the host sat us in a lovely corner booth & presented us with a glass of champagne!!! What a nice gesture, it was so appreciated!! We had a special menu to choose from, filet miginon w/mashed potatoes & green beans yummy, scallops with risotto yummy as well!! The best cocktail menu I have seen anywhere, all specialty signature drinks are hand made with unique ingredients. I would love to go back anytime.

Totally enjoyed the experience
Totally enjoyed the experience from the wonderfully charming host who greeted me upon my arrival, to the attentive busboy and server. The prix fixe was a surprise, and the NY strip we cooked as I requested. The Cosmo was on of the best, as well. It was a truly wonderful experience.

The staff is professional and courteous. There is great food at the Round Table. We went with a TravelZoo voucher and they were extremely accommodating. Corner booth? No problem. The drinks were expensive, but delicious and quite strong. You really get what you pay for. This is our anniversary spot and we'll certainly be back.

The dinner was before our Broadway. Show. It was close. To the theater and started the evening off to a great start

I keep visiting NYC so many times but I never knew that this great place is so near by!
Located at Times Square area but so quiet and friendly.
Interesting history and legend cat at front desk , great food, great service, relax.
Bar also nice setting but recommend dinner. Appetizer salmon and jumbo scallop, bread was real great!!!
Even good for 1 person dining and reasonable pre-theater prix fix menu, too.
