Excellent food, far above most italian restaurants. Both pasta's and meat dishes prepared perfectly.

Saturday night we went to
Saturday night we went to Tocco with friends who had never gone and again we had a fabulous time. The food is excellent, we generally eat family style and share. Everything was perfect and we all loved what we ordered. Bruno is a wonderful host and executive chef.
I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Still one of our favorites.
Still one of our favorites. Owner, Bruno Abate's infectious personality fills the restaurant as well as informs his food with all the best of its Italian inspiration. A great value set in contemporary designed space that we and our teenage kids love (both the space and the food).

Excellent Dining Experience
This restaurant is unimpressive from the outside but inside it's sleek and sophisticated. The food was exceptionally good. Pasta was delicious, salad was fresh and enough for two people to share, and the pizza was full of fresh ingredients. Waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable. The outside patio wasn't open on the cold night we stopped, but it would be a great place to sit on a pleasant night. Would whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant.

Always wonderfully delicious
Neither the menu nor the wine list is extensive, but each represents great taste and discrimination. Food and bread tray always superbly prepared and presented. The owner is always present mingling casually with patrons and ensuring a warm and inviting dining experience.

Our food was amazing! A lot
Our food was amazing! A lot better than expected... Service was ok, place could use more servers. I found myself trying to get a server attention more often than not. Food outweights hassle though!

Love this place. Very different dinning from usual "Italian-American, mom's kitchen" kind of places that are all over Chicago. I rarely crave pasta but they do such a great job here with their pasta. The portions are perfect because the quality is so good that I always leave satisfied.

A regular stop for me
Love Italian food - and this one's a gem. Authentic Italian food - great antipasto choices - experienced staff. Tocco has turned out to be a regular spot for us whenever we're in Chicago.

Second time's a charm
Food and service were great! This was our second time dining here.

A nice new find!
The outside location is nice in that it is alongside the restaurant next to a little parkway, so the space feels very open. They did a nice job staying true to the Italian theme - in fact, our waitress, who was fantastic, was actually from Florence. They also were projecting a nice photo montage of picturesque/historic places from Italy on the wall, which was a nice touch. My wife had a nice glass of wine, while I enjoyed a Peroni beer. We got a great salad of spinach, parmesan, mushroom, and lemon oil vinaigrette. I had scottato (sliced beef), which was great, and my wife had a pesto fusilli, which was pretty good too. Finished it off with a very tasty molten chocolate tart. We will definitely be going back!

Convenient Wicker Park
Went here before a play at Chopin Theater. The wait staff was very peasant and provided excellent service and information about wine and the menu. The food was delicious, starting with the grilled vegetables. I will definitely go back again.

I located this restaurant by looking at the Google map for the neighborhood surrounding the Chopin Theater and got lucky. Reviews online indicated that they serve authentic Italian food. I can't address that but the food was great and everyone in the restaurant was working to make our dining experience a good one. The decor is sleek but not intimidating. The dishes tasted fresh and had the right amount of spices. I noted scenic view but that is inside the restaurant as provided by a projection of views of Italy--it makes you want to go there tomorrow. This place is definitely worth the visit.

Great Dorado fish dinner.
Would go there again and again and recommend it to friends which I have already done

Love this Restaurant!
A complete transformation of a former McDonald's into a sleek restaurant with really great food. Don't miss Bruno Abate the delightful owner!! The staff and service is great, the food always fresh and well-prepared and the setting, particularly on the patio on a wonderful summer night is perfect.

Slice of Italy
Lovely outdoor area, sleek interior are a wonderful backdrop to your thin crust pizza, maybe some creamy burrata, proschiutto, or go crazy and get the fish special. Wash it down with some prosecco and celebrate the fact that you are not on vacation and can come back and do this again really soon.

What a Gem
So pleasantly surprised with the caliber of food, it was all delicious from the appetizer through to desert! You could tell the waitress loved her job and really knew the menu, she made excellent recommendations! I can't wait to take more friends there!

Delicious, thin crust pizza like in Italy. Very cool, modern vibe. Good date place.

Tocco keeps me coming back
Great authentic Italian food. A big patio with nice chairs. Very chic interior. Side wall opens to patio for a nice open environment on good days.
Service is good, not super fast, but they give you the feeling that they want you to sit and enjoy your time there. They aren't trying to rush anyone out the door so they can turn more tables.
They play a (muted) italian travel documentary on one wall all the time, I find this alternately cool and a little off-putting, my girlfriend likes it though, she spends a lot of time saying, "I've been there, I've been there."
Don't miss this place, the surrounding businesses may not be as hip as the Damen/North/Milwaukee area but this is definitely a gem.

Relaxing and enjoyable evening
Took daughter out for dinner as we were visiting her in Chicago and had a wonderful relaxing and enjoyable meal in the comfortable and chic Tocco. It was not too busy but had a lively and warm crowd. Easy to find, park and dinner was delightful. We shared several plates of fresh and tasty offerings; truly Italian. Our server could not have been more charming and gracious. Overall, a lovely dining experience. Would strongly recommend Tocco.

what a suprise!
We loved it! Such a surprise, I had never even heard of this place, so didn't expect it to be outstanding in every way! Felt like we were actually in Italy. Italian servers, host and very gregarious owner.

Fine Italian Fare in Wicker Park
Tocco has never failed to please. They don't try to do everything under the sun, but each choice is particularly good. The service is attentive and friendly.

Tocco mostly very good
We had an excellent margherita pizza, excellent pasta with pork ragu, and very good risotto, but the aglio e olio was terrible. The garlic was overcooked to the point where the burnt flavors overwhelmed the dish. Wine by the glass was decent, not great, with healthy sized pours.

Bruno comes through again
Went here with my wife, and my sister and her boyfriend. Had the fried calamri appetizer, which is always a home run. Perfectly crispy and seasoned. I had the rack of lamb....outstanding. The boyfriend had the lasagna, and both my wife and sister each had pasta...best pasta in the city. And Bruno (the owner-chef) is an absolute character...right out of The Sopranos. This place is an absolute neighborhood gem. I've been here about 10 times, and it's always fantastic. I should keep it the best kept secret in the city so that it doesn't get too crowded.
