The Pyramid is now our favorite
The Pyramid is now our favorite restaurant for holiday brunches. The food, especially the salads, is creative and delicious.

We visited on a Sunday evening after a day in the Arts District and had a very nice dinner, the ribeye and scallops were both very good. We also enjoyed the hot fresh bread.

28th Anniversary dinner
I worked for the Fairmont 26 years ago in the Sales Department. The hotel and restaurant have taken a turn on the update. Beautiful. Enjoyed every minute of our stay and dinner there. Made some great memories!

This is the 3rd year I've brought my dad there for his birthday. The first year, Gustavo gushed all over my dad. Everyone did including the hostess at the beginning. The coconut cake was an over the top treat for him. He would bring it home and share it with his friends. Last year, the service was a bit less. This year, Charles was knowledgeable of the menu, but seemed very put off that we were in the wine room. I would have put service lower, but there was a white haired gentlemen who was completely enthusiastic about everything. This is also the first year we were charged for the cake, and he didn't have any to share with his friends. I was sadly disappointed this year.

Ambience was good, seats a bit low. The food was well prepared. We chose the fish, red snapper snapper and scallops followed by a shared cheese plate. Would recommend it.

My husband and I went to Pyramid the day after our wedding as a way to kick off our honeymoon. We were there on a Sunday night and almost had the place to ourselves with the exception of a couple of tables. Our waiter was very attentive, informative and friendly. Every course we had was delicious and plated beautifully. Our waiter was great at helping us decide on different wine pairings throughout the evening. After dinner we ordered a couple of cocktails from the bar and headed up to the rooftop garden (recommended by our waiter) to enjoy the skyline. It was the perfect ending to our evening there and the perfect start to our honeymoon. We will definitely come back the next time we are in the Dallas area.

Everyone tried very hard;
Everyone tried very hard; understandably slow for a Saturday night downtown; Cauliflower soup too strange to enjoy; arugula salad very good; snapper well done and worth the $44 as were the scallops. Waiter was as good as he could be - friendly, caring, around, all about us, not him.
Good job overall, just needs a few tweaks.

Friendly helpful staff
The staff at the Pyramid went beyond expectation in making sure that we enjoyed our 15th wedding anniversary.

Fine dining experience with a twist
The Pyramid has long been a personal favorite, an oasis downtown that unfortunately was downgraded to a grill atmosphere from the previous fine-dining Dirona award winning meccae enjoyed for a generation. While the room lacks the elegance and polish of the past, the food has kept up with the times, and the wines are outstanding. The service is outstanding, be sure to ask for Kim if dining during the day. The kitchen uses a wide array of locally sourced foods, and the rooftop garden furnishes herbs, and other items used in food preparation. There are a few hidden gems that are not advertised but available with advance notice.

After all these years
The Pyramid Room was the first restaurant at which I ate when I came to Dallas as a new bride, so it holds a special place in my list of places to eat. I had not been back for many years and was delighted to see the changes to the menu. The "Lifestyle" menu is a considerate addition for anyone, particularly large parties where some may have health or other dietary requirements. The food was excellent and the service prompt and courteous. I plan to return - and I will not wait so long next time.

Pyramid Room at the Fairmount
Great service from Roberto and the and the Restaurant Week menu was a great bargain for $35 per person. All of the dishes exceeded our expectations.

We had not visited Pyramid
We had not visited Pyramid Restaurant is a long time, and we were glad to return. And, quite pleased with the quality, style, and taste of all of the menu selections. The service was friendly, and attentive. Would recommend.

Either I nor my guest had been here in 17+ years and we both agreed it has reinvented itself in a good way. Decor is refreshed with clean lines a none of former stuffiness. Cooed is fresh and tasty. Service is young but earnest. Servings are very generous so you can get one $20 dish at lunch and split it. The take home dessert in canning jars are great

Pyramid Room: A Premium Restaurant
Excellent all the way! The food was wonderful ... Our waiter, Gustavo, was the best! The wine was diverse in selection. Everything was fabulous!

The sommelier, Hunter, made our evening. His knowledge and recommendations were absolutely spectacular. We had a terrific time. The appetizers were delicious. The entrees were good - not great, but quite tasty. Dessert was the only real miss - just not up to par after everything else.

Ok, not great, expected more
The chicken liver moose appetizer was quite tasty. The breads were all tasty. The mushroom soup was yummy. The stuffed chicken breast tasted like barbecued chicken, not all that great. The Napoleon wasn't quite right, it was soggy so difficult to cut, but the white chocolate frosting was tasty. Expecting more from The Pyramid Room. Restaurant Week has allowed us to determine which restaurants to go back to and which ones to bypass. Y.O, III Forks and Silver Fox we will go back to, probably won't go back to The Pyramid Room.

Excellent tortilla soup...and really enjoyed the kale "super food" salad. Tasty healthy choice, which is always a positive for a working lunch.

We were so well taken care of it was amazing. They called me by name the entire evening and they were totally attentive but not hovering. The Sommelier visted and asked me what I was considering. He applauded the choices (one red and one white) even though they weren't overly pricey and knew everything about each bottle.

wonderful service and food
we had a wonderful dinner with our young girls. we were staying in the hotel so decided to give it a try. the food was fantastic and the waitstaff was very attentive but not annoying. the kids meals were very well priced (except a scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce was $8.00, $2.00 more than their meal)
the vegetables that came with my quail were done perfectly, i enjoyed them more than the quail. My husband had the tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. flavorful and crispy on outside and tender on inside.!
the atmosphere is a little lacking.

A Delightful Find
Few hotel restaurants get praise from me. This one is exceptional. A lovely space and great people. The food was outstanding and the wine list had a remarkable range of styles and taste as well as price.
My wife and I will return when we are next in Dallas.

Great food with great service. The staff was excellent and made sure we were happy. Appetizers were to die for...try the beef tartare. Pricey food...its not somewhere that you would frequent but would go on special occassions.

A Sunday night in a hotel
A Sunday night in a hotel restaurant was very quiet. Only two tables occupied in the entire place. We had excellent service and all four of us enjoyed our meals. The only thing missing from the menu were some shareable appetizers for our group that we could have enjoyed with our cocktails. We all had excellent meals. Our waiter even made my mother blue cheese stuffed olives for her martinis! That's service.

Nice but now WOW
I enjoyed my dinner at Pyramid. I had the 3 course dinner which was an nice option. The choices for courses were varied. Each course was good, just not as innovative as I was expecting. The best part of the meal was the attention the sommelier gave to my wine selection. He even went so far as to research a question on grapes and bring it to me at the table. Most don't bother.

Didn't realize restaurant was located in a hotel (Fairmont). I'm not usually a fan of hotel eateries but this one was excellent. Menu was interesting and offered varied choices. Service was very good and waiter was very knowledgable of the kitchen.

First time visitors but we will be back. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Wine list is awesome. Some uncommon and hard to find bottles. The shortrib was so tender you did not need a knife. The lamb was exceptional. Great place for a romantic dinner.

One of my all time favorites
A visit to the Pyramid is always a treat. In my view it would be even better, if I did not have the knowledge of the excellence of years gone by. Dining habits have obviously changed, and rock solid establishments have often acquiesced to many diners abandonment of formality.
The Pyramid historically has been rock solid in presentation, quality and especially service. While its still possible to make special requests, some of the new offerings don't embrace the gold standard set by the Pyramid in terms of preparation and presentation.
Its one thing for the food to look good or appealing but it also needs to have some connection to the substance that is the foundation for its legacy.
Thankfully service still survives.
