Wonderful experience at the Westend Bistro. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. The ambiance is trendy but approachable. The waitstaff is professional and enjoyable. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Staff was wonderfully accommodating
Staff was wonderfully accommodating. Got there a bit late (called in advance) because of the awful storm, shown to a table but when I asked for a nearby booth they made the switch. Helpful server, good food. We'll return. Only glitch was valet parking. The line was so long on arrival and we were running late, so we used self-park, which turns out not to be run by the hotel. Instead of costing $8, we were hit with a $26 bill. It might be helpful to clarify that on the restaurant Website. Otherwise, lovely evening.

Great food. Want to try other dishes - will need to go back again soon. The service was a little slow though - took a while to get our order to the waiter. The bar looked like a nice size and layout - could be fun after work hangout.

The food was excellent. I can't wait till I can go back.
My husband never says anything is better than "good" but when I asked him how his bass was he actually said excellent. I also enjoyed my selections from the light menu.

My partner and I were taken
My partner and I were taken to the West End Bistro for my birthday by an out-of-town friend. We'd been before, several yeas ago, and remembered that it was good. This time it was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was friendly and helpful, and the restaurant's ambiance was lovely. We couldn't have been happier!

Going the extra mile
We are somewhat regulars here and find that the restaurant management is very committed to pleasing its customers. For example, some menu items we like were discontinued. We ask periodically if they can still be ordered, and by and large, Westend Bistro is able to comply.

Mother's Day celebration
Our daughter and family live too far away, so my husband surprised me on Mothers Day by taking me to WestEnd.
It was our first time. We were definitely not disappointed! I had the (Butter) Fish special and he had the steak -- both wonderful! We also loved the mac n cheese, and the s'mores dessert was fun -- and really good!
We'll be back!!

Great find in West End.
We live in Annapolis and are always looking for places to eat in
D.C. which don't require driving the beltway or crossing over the
park to the West side of the city. We had an early dinner and
found the service to be exceptional and the food almost as good.
The highlights were the skate wing and the special desert we split.
I know we will go back to eat here again soon.

Westend was an awesome experience. We decided to go with a friend who was from out of town and were so excited when we left. It is not a cheap meal to say the least, but it is definitely worth every penny. We decided to get a few different dishes and eat it tapas style. All of the dishes are beyond delish! Each one is also so creative but completely perfect. The wine list is extensive and the waitress knew what she was talking about when we asked questions, which is always a plus in my book. Also, if you want to trick your significant other (or yourself) into actually liking brussel sprouts- get the side order of them here because they were on point.

West End Bistro Lives up to its rep. GREAT food and a wonderful vibe.
5/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food, helpful and responsive staff who really care about your dining experience, great cocktail menu. We ate outside and it was loud because of how close it is the the GW ER. Will definitely eat there again, but inside as it was much quieter.
6/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
We ate outside on West End Bistro's sliver of a patio, that was pretty well screened by potted plants from the traffic just a few steps away on a busy corner. There were four of us dining, and every course each of us ordered was absolutely first-rate. We wondered why the cavernous restaurant inside was virtually empty. We look forward to returning.

Excellent food, server training?
The third visit here measured up on food but the servers need some training on wine glass usage! Given the sophisticated diners, it's important to know a burgundy glass.

We had tickets to the Kennedy Center and were very late getting to West End Bistro. Our waitress was terrific. She promised quick service and excellent food. She delivered on both counts, got our valet ticket validated and had our car waiting when we paid the check. I would recommend this restaurant.

Nice, upscale restaurant
Enjoyed my trip to WestEnd Bistro. Had the lamb loin, which was small but excellent. Brussel sprout side dish was delicious. Good cocktails as well. Nice wait staff; I mentioned that I'd been collecting wine corks for a project, and the waitress brought over several without being asked. A nice touch.
A bit on the pricey side, but entirely in line with what other DC restaurants of similar caliber charge. Would definitely return!

We enjoyed the patio and our food was excellent. This restaurant has a limited menu but good choices so you should be able to find something that pleases you. I had seasoned shrimp and my husband enjoyed his personal pizza. Our waitress wasn't very good but that is unusual in our experience with this restaurant. Highly recommend.

First time at Westend Bistro
Our experience last evening was nearly flawless. Our waitress was charming, knowledgeable and respectful of our conversation. The general manager was charming as well. The food exceeded our expectations. Every bite was prepared perfectly and the flavors were delightful. The crust alone on the duck pasties was warm, crisp and delicious. We're looking forward to returning soon.

We wanted to go somewhere special for my husband's birthday, a little more up-scale than we usually do. WestEnd was perfect. The food was delicious (the lamb loin and the bass were our favorite entrees) and the servers were very attentive. Our entrees took longer than expected so they brought us an appetizer on the house. And they remembered that it was my husband's birthday, so they put a candle in their signature dessert (s'mores with homemade ice cream). I would recommend this place to diners who want a simple, American-type menu prepared with care. (Oh, and we sat outside, which was lovely and not as noisy as inside!)

We wnr based ona WP review and wasn't disapponited. I had the pre-theater menu ($40) including 3 courses. It was excellent, as was the service. My friend had the salmon which he said was also very good. Good location from Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle Mtero stops

Great Food near Westin Georgetown
Food was Fantastic. Service could have been a little better with the hostess and waiter. Wanted to sit at Kitchen for Romantic dinner and watch the kitchen cook . We could have sat at 6:15 as there was not a reservation until 8pm in the seats. They would not seat us. 8:30-8:45 rolled around and never saw anyone seated. It was a bummer but enjoyed the food, bar, restaurant. Waiter was ok but would some time disappear and someone else would come check in with us.

A casual bistro
I was expecting a fine dinning restaurant as this is a ritz Carlton restaurant. It's more of a casual bistro. Some people were even there in shorts and tank tops. Not a stuffy place at all. The food was quite good. The service was attentive without being smothering. A bit pricey for a casual bistro.

Ordered all the reviews said to try, mussels, mac-n-cheese, brussels sprouts and all were excellent. We both ordered salmon and it was cooked as ordered, well presented and delicious. Excellent recommendation on wine. Fantastic service. Wonderful experience!

Great restaurant week!
Went here for restaurant week and was surprised at how great everything was. Party of 2 and were sat in a quiet booth. The restaurant week menu was fantastic and almost all choices were taken straight from the normal menu. They also had bottles of wine for the same price as the meal - and heavily discounted if you checked the normal wine list. Definitely go during this time!

Great pick for Restaurant Week
I'll be honest, I hadn't heard of Westend Bistro so when my friend suggested we go there for Restaurant Week I was skeptical. I am very glad that we chose them, so much so that I'd love to go back even when it's not restaurant week. I started with the peach and burrata salad which was good, but small. My friend got the calamari which was definitely a better deal. The pretzel crusted chicken breast on creamed spinach was phenomenal. I wouldn't normally order chicken at a restaurant, but this was definitely the perfect choice. It was incredibly juicy - like an adult fried chicken without having to fight with bones. I highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake! As an added bonus they had several wines at the Restaurant Week price ($35).

I thought everything was very good as usual except that my Wagyu beef was covered in a bbq sauce that really ruined the dish. It was a real downer as the beef itself was wonderful. I typically would have questioned the sauce in the beginning but the chef is usually "right on" with his choices so I didn't question it. Far too overpowering for the beef. Note to chef - try the steak sauce at Matchbox in their breakfast pizza/steak/egg sandwich, it would have been amazing on the $30 wagyu.

Georgetown Westend Bistro
This was walking distance from the hotel so we gave it a shot and we're glad we did. Great food, ambiance and experience. Unique menu with good choices. I'm not a brussel sprout fan, but these were really good. So much on the menu looked good that we over-ordered just to try it all. Get the mac and cheese (big enough to split). Make reservations, and ask for a booth by the window so you can get a feel for the city.

A group of 4 went to West End, the best meal in DC to date! I have been several times and nothing compares to the experience Juan gave us... He listened to everyone's dietary need and a planned the perfect meal... If you want to have to ultimate meal you must ask for Juan ... Simply amazing!

Reliable, courteous, dignified
In a neighborhood with few nice spots for lunch, you can count on West End Bistro. They greet you nicely, serve reasonably quickly and always have fresh original choices on the menu.

Eclectic and loud. But the food was OUTSTANDING! You must try their special Mushrooms. I had low expectations, but found them to be unlike any I have ever experienced before.

Need to add this to favorites!
WOW! From the moment we walked in, service was superb. We were greeted with smiles not only from the hostess, but every staff member working. My wife is pregnant and the server was kind enough to explain what cocktails he would recommend with out alcohol. She chose a berry mojito, which turned out to be her favorite mocktail or just beverage in general. The ingredients from the mocktail to the dessert were so fresh and used with the outmost respect for food. I believe our servers name was Juan Carlos, if you could request for him, your night will be complete along with the assistants. Thanks to Westend Bistro and their staff for an amazing experience. We came in for a normal Friday night dinner and felt like it was a special occasion.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
I ordered outside of my "comfort zone" of items that I would normally order to dine on at a restaurant. ... and I was more than pleasantly surprised. Everyone at our table was pleased with the presentation of the entree's and it was obvious that they have a top notch Chef. From the Appetizer to the Champagne, Entre', Coffee and Desert - we were never disappointed! Everything was superb! My dish was a vegetarian special (and I am not vegetarian) and it was wonderful - a delicately cooked spaghetti squash with various types of wild mushrooms and other delights blended in very delicately and cooked in butter and just enough cheese to give it a zing. My taste buds are still tingling at the thought of it!

Birthday dinner on Sunday evening
Great place to celebrate a friends birthday with a group. The waiter was very attentive and accommodating. The food was light and very well cooked. Highlights were the Brussels sprouts and crab salad.
Westerns prepared a nice presentation for our friends dessert because it was his birthday. Beautiful dessert!

Terrific on all counts. Fantastic food--the sea bass with succotash, the strip steak, the truffle mac and cheese, etc. are tops. First-rate service, and a great atmosphere, though a bit noisy, but not too bad. We can't wait to go back.

An elegant evening, but...
We enjoyed the food at the Westend Bistro, but the overall experience was less than it could have been for one big reason. The seating arrangement was more like family-style dining than private dining. Our table was so close to the diners on either side of us that our table had to be moved when they got up to leave.
