With Slavic influence! I am so glad I found this place, get my fix of what I grew up with. And the draught beer was excellent too!

Had not been here in many
Had not been here in many years. We web so pleased to find that the food and friendly neighborhood feel was just as we remembered it. The ethnic menu is unmatched in the region. We plan for our next visit to be soon! Oh, and the bread pudding is unbelievably good. It is very rich and was great to share with our table of four.

Wonderful European Menue
Amber Rose is a wonderful European menu restaurant in East Dayton, not far from downtown. I had the schnitzel and it was delicious, as was the home made blue cheese dressing. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

I found this place by looking
I found this place by looking online. It's in a residential area out of the way. I was looking for good German food. The food was outstanding and our server was very attentive. Neat older residential building with character. I will go back in the future.

Amber Rose is a unique place to go
The ethnic content of the menu makes Amber Rose a unique place to dine in the Dayton area. Lots of German and Polish favorites and a reasonable wine list.

Amazing ethnic food
Our dinner at Amber Rose was fantastic. There were choices for those that love ethnic food as well as choices for those "safer" eaters! I loved our experience!

Great Dayton Gem!
The food is great here, while the menu looks small, what they do, they do very well. The building is gorgeous, from the stained glass windows to the decorative ceiling tiles and dark wood trim, the decor accents the menu nicely. We had a table of five and our service was great, just as it was the time before when it was only a table for two. There is much to love about this place, we will keep coming back!

We have been coming to Amber Rose for years and it never disappoints. With a concise, focused menu of German-Hungarian-Slovakian type dishes, there's no mystery what you will find here: pork, potatoes, cabbage.
The cabbage rolls are a favorite, as is the Hunter Schitzel - thin pork tenderloins with a pretzel coating.
Try the sauerkraut balls for a fun appetizer to get it rolling.
The only letdown is a lack of ethnic dessert choices but we are usually so stuffed by the end of the meal that it's not really an issue.

Excellent ethnic cuisine,
Excellent ethnic cuisine, great turtle soup, and wonderful desserts make for a great dinner. Also, the bistro atmosphere adds to the experience.

A fun dining experience in an old converted house with a tin ceiling and stained glass windows along the front. Seating is unpretentious and a bit like a diner, but service is prompt and friendly. There is plenty of parking in a side lot too. We ordered both their traditional and house special schnitzels. They were great - especially the Hunter Schnitzel made with pork and coated in pretzel crumbs. The chicken paprikash also got a big thumbs up. A good quality salad and multi-colored rye bread accompanied the meal. The wine list was interesting and so was the beer list. We'll definitely be back when we're in town again next year. We'll have to save room for dessert next time.

Simple, good food.
If you like western European and some Eastern European foods, this is the place. Pierogi's, sausage, sauerkraut...they have a nice London Broil for standard fare... Been here a few times and so far, good experiences each time. One of the few places left where you can find real food from the "old country." Desserts are homemade and delicious.

Good food, served hot and very different. Love the old building and keeping the décor.

The food at The Amber Rose is consistently good and this meal was no exception. I had the Chicken Kiev and the other members of our party had the pork chops and the cabbage rolls. Everything was delicious.

Great food and service from
Great food and service from the waitress!! The only problem was from the hostess. She took us to a table and set the menus down and walked away. No "thanks for coming or enjoy your dinner".I went to her and asked if we could move to an open booth because of the drafty area. She rolled her eyes and said someone had 6:30 reservations. I said so did we. Not a good way to start the birthday party. She didn't have a smile on her face the whole time we were there. Management should have picked up on her behavior. Other than this, the meal was great.

Love the ambiance!
Lithuanian neighborhood gem! You have to try the cabbage rolls!

Large Party Issue
We reserved seating for 15 through Open Table and I called the Amber Rose the day ahead to make sure we were on the books. However, when our party arrived instead of a table for 15, they had two tables with 6 each. The server added chairs to one of the tables, as if it was an afterthought. The restaurant wasn't crowded so we were surprised that the tables weren't arranged properly to accommodate our group reservation. We were disappointed, and as the person making the reservation, I thought the servers should have immediately moved the tables to suit our needs.

It was very refreshing to find this restaurant. The staff are friendly, attentive and know what they're selling. You feel just as if you're in a small family-run european restaurant. lt was well worth the drive for us not to be settling for another bland "chain restaurant" for which SW Ohio is unfortunately more noted. The variety of food was great and overall was a great place to try something new. We could probably go back a dozen times and not get bored with the food. The only thing I might suggest (although their beer list is still more extensive than most restaurants) would be perhaps a couple more truly european beers on tap...austrian/czech/polish? Otherwise a really nice restaurant off the beaten path...highly recommended.
