It took me a while to get to this review but I made sure I did not forget to write it. I found out about this restaurant from Facebook and I am so glad I decided to go. One friend and I went to one of the tastings they had. This particular tasting was a seafood tasting. We were greeted as soon as we entered by Tina who was our server and she explained how the tasting worked. We were sat at a large family style table with all of the other people who were there for the tasting (which was about 30 people).
I was prepared to write a large review but I see that I am limited to the number of characters. I will try to write a full review on one of the other sites but let's say in a nutshell...amazing! You have to attend a tasting!

We love this place. The food
We love this place. The food is always excellent and reasonably priced. The filet mignon is to die for. The sushi is very fresh and delicious! We frequent this place quite often because the food never disapoints.

I've eaten at West East many times but this is the first since they changed the menu. So many amazing new options to choose from. The wild boar ribs fall off the bone and the skirt steak was one of the most flavorful and tender steaks I've ever had. The service was attentive without being over bearing. We're already planning our next night out.

Since the number of places on long island with organic dishes are limited, West East Bistro was a treat....Nice, modern dining room...simple yet diversified menu...the figs in the House Salad were very enjoyable for both seetness and texture...I highly recommend the Asparagus wrapped in Duck Bacon appetizer...loved the lamb chops...slightly disappointed that they were out of the Grouper which was featured as a special...excellent Yam Mash, not too sweet...finished with gelato and a very earhty, delicious green tea....Also disappounted that there is no Organic Beer on the menu....Great meal, definitely going back.

Our first of many visits
The food was exceptional. I had a chicken stir fry that was spiced just right and was exceptionally tasty. The molten chocolate cake with ice cream was fabulous.

This was on Mother's Day.
This was on Mother's Day. Dinner was great as we ordered staple dishes that we love: Pai Tai and Filet Mignon Fried Rice. Service was outstanding as always. Tina is the best...the rest of the staff is wonderful also but Tina is A++!! Tina selected wine for me and it was wonderful. She also let me taste another wonderful wine that Jay (owner) suggested. Jay has a wonderful job of bringing in a great variety of wines to select from. Overall a wonderful Mother's Day dinner for me.

The food and service was fabulous!
The food and service was fabulous! We had been there before and loved it the first time. This time we went with a large party and they accomodated us right away. They had live music that night which was very enjoyable. The food was all delicious, especially the marinated skirt steak. The lobster mac and cheese was simply amazing! They have a great varied menu including sushi, thai and vegetarian dishes. We will definitely be back again.

I came to West East Bistro with a friend of mine and I loved the changes the new ownership did. The all natural aspect of the food is great! You know that you are getting the best quality and are not getting cheated like many other restaurants. The food was delicious! I will definitely be back! I am already planning another visit

Hawaiian Luau with a twist
Another amazing night! Chef Jay once again impressed with his culinary skills and server, Krista, charmed us with her personality and smile. All courses were delicious. The dessert improved tremendously with the simple touch of whipped cream. Looking forward to the tasting on the 8th!!!

Neighborhood Gem with a twist
Made an reservation for 2 on a Saturday night for 6PM. As we arrived, it was placed in a new small strip-mall. Don't be fooled by the empty parking lot, cause it will fill up fast. By 7-7:30 this place was filled.
The food was great, different with a twist. you have to go there and find out for yourself. The live music was a complete added bonus.
Love the place.

Great dining experience
We were a group of 8 and liked that they gave us a nice round table. The place is not very large but the tables are spaced well and the decor was bright and cheerful. On the website I saw that we could BYOB for a cork fee so we brought in 2 bottles and were only charged once. We ordered another bottle and other drinks too. The menu had quite a selection of choices. Everything was fresh and presented well. All of us ordered appetizers- the arugala salad was delicious. Some ordered sushi too which was good too. The fish and meat entrees were very fresh and well flavored. Two of our group enjoyed the rice pudding for dessert. There was not a lot of background noise here so we were able to converse and have a wonderful night.

I was disappointed in this tasting. The menu was ok, however, I do not eat lamb or rabbit. Chef Jay was very accomodating in providing substitutions. The appetizer was not pleasant, the gaspacho was like drinking a glass of garlic and the chicken substitution was very plain. The trout and gaspacho was incredible and the tiramasu was to die for. I just might not have a taste for the first three items i mentioned.
I will be dining here again.

West East was delicious. The menu was creative and the food very fresh. I had the bang bang shrimp which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the fried ocra which was also delicious. The pad Thai was one of the best I have had in a long time. It was light and fresh and I added filet mignon which was cooked to perfection.
The pricing was also very reasonable. It was difficult choosing an entree the choices all looked so good. We will definitely be back!

Good Food and Good People
My friend and I just picked this at first for the light menu and its central location to where we both work. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. Tasty and light fare. We both had sushi rolls and a salad. Service was nice and we met the owners which was an extra treat.
Ample Parking and easy to find also.

Great night out
Great food, service, atmosphere and music! Loved the restaurants philosophy of all natural, sustainable and organic food. We need more places with this kind of thinking on Long Island.

Great Atmosphere...Excellent Food!
Two friends & I met at West East Bistro for our usual monthly dinner out. Since two of us are from the South Shore and the other is on the North Shore, we wanted a place convenient for all of us. I searched LI Restaurant Week for Nov 2013 to get some ideas of new restaurants which we haven't yet frequented. West East Bistro was on the list...We chose the location after perusing their website. The Asian-Fusion menu was quite appealing, with some enticing choices. The food is also sourced from non-GMO sources and is all natural (although these weren't our deciding factors, definitley a plus!). So, sight unseen, we met on Friday night and much to our delight, the atmosphere, drinks and food were outstanding! We will definitely be going back!

Absolutely LOVE this place
Everything about this restaurant was amazing. And there was even a live singer and musician. Took my boyfriend hear who loves eating healthy but still with great flavor and he loved it. The ambiance is great and the service is excellent. Would definitely recommend family and friends and I'll be returning...OFTEN!

We liked it
Owner was very friendly. Staff was young, but hustled. Nice ambiance. Chef did an excellent job... he earned our "VERY GOOD" food rating. Wife's flatiron steak didn't come out the right temp and I wasn't in love with the sweet potatoes, but the steak DID have excellent flavoring, and when it came out cooked to her satisfaction, she loved it too. I had the wok-seared branzino which was PERFECT. Side of veggies was spiced right. YOU CAN TASTE THIS FOOD. We drank about 1/2 the bottle of the suggested wine pairing, but really didn't like it, and owner offered us 2 full glasses of his, which was a French Shiraz... yums! He also debited 1/2 the price of the bottle... good man. We'll go back and you are encouraged too, as well.

We were at the Navel Expo
We were at the Navel Expo over the weekend and stopped at the West East Bistro booth and tried the soup. OMG...Delish.
So we went Wednesday night and the food was phenomenal...The lamb shank was unbelievable and the fish was delish.
Ohhh. and don't forget about the purple rice pudding. To die for...!!! I Highly recommend it. Enjoy!!

Went to West East bistro as part of restaurant week. I was meeting up with friends and we wanted a place close by a movie theatre.
Found this on the list of participating restaurants and book for Saturday. The decor is warm , modern and inviting. Food was superb. Service great as well. Loved the menu which is truly something fresh and unusual. I highly recommend West East Bistro and will go again ... Soon.
