Food and service were acceptable,
Food and service were acceptable, however, when you are a wine establishment you should at least use the correct glass type for the wine being served. I ordered a merlot and it was served to me in a Bordeaux glass. I mentioned this to our waiter and was told that all red wine was served in that type of glass. Not a good thing!

Just what we were looking
Just what we were looking for. The server was a trove of knowledge on the menu, how they were prepared, what ingredients they included, the characteristics of the wines sampled. The staff was attentive to (but not hurried) clearing plates and otherwise staying out of the way to allow for intimate conversation amongst the table guests.

We were in wine country and it was perfect for our day. The food was delicious, the wine list was great, the wine flight with our meal was fabulous and our service was very solid. THANKS for a great meal!!!!

Very enjoyable evening, great
Very enjoyable evening, great food and an exceptional food server! Only complaint was an electrical generator outside for the "First Friday" festivities that caused a substantial amount of noise for the diners on the rooftop.

Another great meal
Iron bridge never disappoints !! We went this past weekend for my Birthday. The steak was amazing as always and the wait staff are excellent.
7/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
All four of us tried one of the wine flights, a great way to sample the wines. The swordfish special was amazing. The lamb chops were terrific and the restaurant was happy to make adjustment for food allergies!

we were surprised. and delighted
got the cab flight. Three half glasses for something around $17. I got meatloaf (also about $17) and it was the best I have ever tasted. Imagine a ball of meatloaf which has been grilled so that the outside is a tiny bit crispy. The meat was outstanding, the sauce devine, and the asparagus was first class.
Wife got Brie, which she loved and we got the Tuna appetizer with a cucumber salad that was like a salsa, very good.
All of this for around $67, what a bargain. Service was excellent, we passed on dessert, preferring to go get a sundae at a local ice cream spot. Also, we didn't get to try the bread, which we remember from last time was excellent. Our second visit, but won't be the last. A top 10 for 2013, maybe a top 1 for 2013.

My second time dining at Iron
My second time dining at Iron Bridge. Very good service, though the restaurant - in a historic old building - is small and somewhat noisy. We were there during a local heat wave, and the upstairs dining room was a little warm, but overall it was well worth the visit. My grilled halibut was outstanding, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Very good selection of wines, including labels from several local wineries. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I went to Iron Bridge on the 20th of July. We were met with great, friendly service. The food was amazing! I had the dry rub New York Strip and my wife had the lobster mac. Both were very tasty. Our server was especially friendly. After sampling a Chardonnay she suggested, we went with a butternut squash white. It was great for the hot evening. Overall we were very happy with the experience and would eat there again!

Our local favorite!
We are regulars at the Iron Bridge Wine Company in Warrenton, VA. Since it has been under new ownership, many aspects of the dining experiences there have improved and we expect there to be more exciting things happening as time goes on.

The Peach Pie desert was one
The Peach Pie desert was one of the best deserts we have ever had in the DC area - compliments to the bakery chef; the food was great and love the ambience.

The Main Street
Food was wonderful. Great farm to table dishes. Not your normal dishes. Will be going again. Great place to take the in-laws. We love going to Main Street Warrenton. Now we have a new favorite place to lunch.
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Service was very good, when we requested a table change it was done quickly with no problem. The food choices were delicious! We plan to go back again.

3rd time and still a charm
We've been to Ironbridge 3 times. It's not exactly close to home, so two times that we have gone have been to celebrate after buying new vehicles (its a nice drive on some fun to drive back roads). The other time we visited was with some good friends who wanted to get out of the city.
This trip we weren't in the mood to make decisions, so we ordered the "Red of the Day". Nice wine at a great price. My wife had Steak Frites, and I had a Sparerib special. The meat on both dishes were delicious. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. Sauces on both were a perfect compliment. Fries were skinny, but cooked well (and hot) and the asparagus were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Desserts (Key Lime Pie and an Apple "pudding") were a nice complement
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
There's a new dish on the menu, Cioppino, and it's hock full of a variety of shell and non-shell fish swimming in a very tasty broth. You'll want to save a piece of bread to soak up every last drop. Of course, two old standby dishes, the lamb chops and the fl strip steak, along with the special halibut, equally satisfied. The beet salad and the fried calamari were good starters.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Service was fantastic, our server (Laura) was very attentive and extrememly accommodating. We were seated inside for dinner and when we asked about the outside she was more than willing to move us outside to enjoy our desert and coffee. The food was delicious, a little pricey but its a creative menu with lots of local and sustainable choices which makes it worthwhile for the extra cost. We would definitely go back again if we were in the area.

Very nice restuarant. Food
Very nice restuarant. Food portions just right. Only slightly negative comment was that the noise level became exceptionally high toward the end of our meal as a group of approximately 8 were seated near our table and proceeded to act as if they were in a saloon. Defnitely will go back.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was a great place to eat. I had dinner on the rooftop which was very nice and enjoyable.
The servers were very friendly and did a great job explaining the items.

We have dined at Iron Bridge
We have dined at Iron Bridge many times and are always pleased with the experience. The staff are friendly, helpful, attentive, but not intrusive and the food is very good. The mussels are the best I've eaten anywhere.
8/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
I was pleasantly surprised to find such a high-quality gem in a teeny-tiny town!
While the wine and food prices were high and the menu is a tad limited, the food was outstanding and overall I think we made the best choice of all the establishments on Main Street. You can't go wrong with their fried chicken! Our server was also very nice and attentive.
Ask to be seated upstairs (not in the cellar) for a better people-watching experience.
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Menu had a variety of appetizers and main courses, some of them unusual and tasty. However, for there there is usually only one type of course for each primary component, e.g., one pork, one chicken, one duck, one vegetarian. It was lobster night so three choices there. The Colorado mixture of Lobster and filet was tasty and the filet and frittes was reasonably sized. The black fig appetizer was enjoyable. The place was not crowded at all for a Sat evening so the noise level was quite low.
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food and service
Great food and service as always. Only negative, we ate in basement next to most loud and annoying party. 10 people yelling and stating ridiculous opinions.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
A special date, and figs too!
My fiance and I had supper on Labor Day to end the long weekend. We had been recommended to visit by her parents, who had been there earlier in 2013. Our meal started with some great local wine and a special local appetizer of Black Mission Figs- just delicious! She had the Ratatouille, and I had the unlimited mussel special. We had their home made goat cheese ice cream for dessert, and felt like we had been treated to the nicest and most enjoyable meal to date in our exploration of Warrenton, VA. We'll be back- the menu promises and delivers on creativity, local ingredients, and good value. The service is courteous and effective, and the environment is initimate.
9/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
IBWC excellent, as usual.
From our smoked salmon appetizer, salads, and sirloin entree, everything was delicious...and always with a creative touch. My husband loves the fried cheese that is served with the Caesar salad.

Nice ending to VA Wine Fest
Excellent service and wine recommendations, great food, and a very charming, rustic ambiance. A perfect way to end a great day spent at the Virginia Wine Festival.

Another great meal
My wife and i enjoy this restaurant very much. It is one of our favorites.
When I made the reservation on OpenTable I was advised that I would not be able to earn Open Table points for this visit. I am not sure why?

Great for a birthday dinner!
Six of us dined at Iron Bridge recently to celebrate a birthday. From start to finish, it was an enjoyable and delicious experience. We especially enjoyed the apple bacon pizza appetizer and steak and frites entre. Well done!
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Limited menu that is well done with excellent portions. Artsy food and the American basic steak.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
The best meal we have had in a long time! Everything from the service to the specials, to the mystery wine exceeded our expectations. If you happen to be traveling through Warrenton Iron Bridge is definitely worth a stop!

I brought my husband here for his 32nd Birthday and we had an amazing time! Amazing food, wine, ambiance, and service!

I came in from Ky to visit a special person in my lifeand wanted something special and special is what I got. Our server Becky was wonderful!
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everything from the ambience, the food, and wine were outstanding.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was excellent. There were four in my group we each had something different. Everyone of us truly enjoyed what we ordered. The Lobster Mac n Cheese was exactly that you had the right amount of lobster and the sauce I kept dipping the bread they provided us in the sauce which may be why I had no room for dessert. The swordfish with vegetables was cooked just right, the vegetables were definitely fresh. We all ate soooo much that none of us had room for dessert but promise to make a trip back just to have the dessert. One of my friends really wanted to have Crème brûlée but like the rest of us had too much bread prior.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Celebrated a milestone birthday with family - absolutely delightful. Food and wine were great, as was the service. Made for some special memories

Fri night date
We had a great romantic night out together. The rock fish and steak were both very good. We tried the "mystery wine" and enjoyed it so much that we bought the last bottle. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We have not been to Iron Bridge in over a year, however we look forward to returning for another date.

A unique dining experience
If you like wine and good food, the Iron Bridge Wine Company is a great place to go. The wine list is excellent - specializing in Virginia wines. The opportunity to taste different flights of wines is a great way to start a meal. The dinner menu is not large, but the food is well prepared and very good. The service is very attentive and our waiter was very knowledgable on the wines and menu selections. The ambiance and seating plan downstairs are not exactly romantic, but there is an upstairs room and an outside terrace (we did not sit there but it was recommended to us). The two tables in the front window of the restaurant are a nice touch. Prices are not bad considering the quality of the food.
11/1/2013 5:00:00 PM
Iron Bridge Wine Company is a gem! The ambience is warm and cozy, rustic, yet modern. The wine selection is vast and the staff is very knowledgable. We had a three course meal, which was 5 star. The menu has many choices, but it is not overwhelming. The food presentation is very impressive and it matches the blast of flavor melded in the dish. I noticed there are daily specials, which happened to be mussels when we were there. We did not take advantage of them, but I could see that other guests were enjoying them. The only critique I would have is that the seating seems a little tight. However, much like some of the finest restaurants in NY seating is at a premium as it should be when the food and wine is absolutely divine.

Our new favorite!
My husband and I used to live in a wine country region of California and we kept remarking that this gem of a restaurant made us feel like we were back in that wonderful place. The staff members were extremely friendly and made every effort to make us comfortable. The service was outstanding and knowledgeable about both the food and wine. To top it off, the food was a taste of heaven! We can 't wait to go back!

Great service and delicious menu!
We returned to Iron Bridge after 2 years and remembered why we love this place! We were seated in the basement which provided a cozy ambiance on a chilly evening. We all 4 loved our meals especially the lobster Mac and cheese. We'll be back very soon!

Always a fan!
Ambiance, service, delicious quality food, and a terrific wine selection always make for a super evening! Comfortable and very attractive, warm and inviting atmosphere. Servers always helpful and gracious. Extensive wine selection with being able to purchase from their "cellar" on the wall. Yummy menu. Wanted to eat lightly this last time, so had 2 of my favorites -- their ceasar salad made with crispy red romain lettuce and toasty baguette slices instead of croutons, and their totally unique crispy fried calamari (seasoned with slivers of lemon and ginger, and with a fabulous ,moderately spiced dipping sauce). Have had main entree dishes previously that were excellent.

Another GREAT meal/experience
My wife and I have always found our meal/experience at Iron Bridge to be GREAT. Our daughter and son-in law love this place.
11/30/2013 4:00:00 PM
We had not been to Warrenton for 25+ years. Wow. The food and walking sites downtown are now interesting and colorful. The iron bridge on Main Street is a good anchor for a visit. Little French fillets were great and the mystery wine was fresh and tasty bargain. Also don't forget to walk around corner to red truck bakery to pick up some world class treats to take home.

Eat, Drink, Enjoy
Iron Bridge never ceases to amaze with its creative menu choices. We both started with the Apple Bisque soup. It was a semi-thick soup in which you tasted both the tartness of the apples and the sweetness of the cinnamon. For entrees, one Sea Bass special and one Parmesan Crab-crusted Mahi-Mahi off the regular menu. Both were nicely prepared and presented. They were accompanied by tasty vegetables and starches. There wasn't much need for the kitchen staff to clean either plate. The Pinot Grigio we selected worked well with the meal. No room left for what sounded like a sinful Bread Pudding, for dessert. However, a coffee and a cappuccino nicely capped off the meal. Great staff, from the people who greet and seat you to your servers.
12/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
This was a special occasion..a birthday dinner for our sister-in-law. Our waiter presented her with a birthday card signed by the staff. Everything from service to food was so outstanding that the only complaint I can come up with is that the fettuccini with mushrooms should be an entree...it was that delicious. At the end of the dinner our brother-in-law who is very particular about his food declared he wanted to come back for his birthday!
