You can count on this gem!
Washington Crossing Inn is a favorite of ours. The new renovations are beautiful. The food and service are consistently outstanding. It is always a delightful experience.

Our day at WCI
We, my childhood friend, now 59, had a nice, quiet visit, as we ate.
No one rushed us, or made us feel we had to leave. It was rainy so we
Had to stay inside but we found that lovely. I love the gardens there.
My food was excellent, that Avocado with Mango is real delicious.

It was our first time having dinner at the Inn and we loved it. The food was delicious and the service attentive. We'll definitely be going back.

Saturday night with friends
We have been going here for a long time, inlaws married there in the little Methodist Church and came here for meal after the service in 1939! Recently the food has gone down, down. Tonight we had four meals between us. Shrimp and lobster dishes not eatable. Standing rib so tough that not usable. (strange word for food) This place needs a new chef, NOW. It is always sad when an old established lovely place gets on the slippery slope.

Great Brunch, Historic setting
Three of us went to brunch at the WCI. We had been there last year after attending a doll show, and could not wait to do the same thing again. The food is good and the dining room is lovely and historically decorated. I would highly recommend to my family and friends to go here. This was my 3rd visit, and I can not wait to go again.

serenity and relaxation was super!
The lunch atmosphere was so excellent. The food was good and the waiter was so attentive and fun.
We would love to come to the Washington Crossing Inn everyday for lunch. But my pocketbook would not allow that.
But to just be in that "secret garden " area is sublime, esp. on a nice/weather afternoon.

"LOVELY DAY PLACE"
WHEN A BEAUTIFUL DAY SHOWS UP AND YOU WANT TO ENJOY IT OUTSIDE, THE SECRET GARDEN AT WASHINGTON CROSSING INN IS THE PLACE TO GO.
TO ME- IT IS A PERFECT SETTING OF RELAXATION, QUIET DINING UNDER THE TREES, WITH UMBRELLAS TO PROTECT YOU. AND MOST OF ALL GOOD FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE.
LOVE GOING TO THE SECRET GARDEN. IT IS ALSO AND REASONABLY PRICED, TO BE SURE.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Good overall experience
The food was quite tasty, included unusual choices and was well priced. The service was friendly, though if you're in a hurry better to let them know. The usual pace for lunch is a bit on the leisurely side.

...for a good meal and great outdoor dining. Well run, food is consistently very good and service is above par. Highly recommend.

Dinner in the outdoor patio was perfect for celebrating our anniversary. The food was excellent and the live music on the patio was at just the right level to be heard without drowning out our conversation. The food was outstanding and service was attentive.

I had the best scallops that I ever had. The onions and mushrooms were good but it was too many. The prime rib was not very good.

A bit pricey
It was a Saturday night and we met another couple. Weather fantastic so we ate outside. Food was good, but my wife's entree had four large shrimp and cost $30.

Great for summer outdoor fun near the Historic Washington Crossings State Park. We came here for Afternoon Tea, I enjoy this restaurant as there are multiple Dining Options

We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary this past weekend! We were married there last year! These folks went all out to honor our request for this special occassion. We were given a private dining area all to ourselves and the wait staff was most generous!
Food & Service are SUPERB as always!!! You most definately cannot go wrong with this place!

Tapas outside were wonderful. Great variety and very tasty. Served beautifully and quickly. Moderately priced wine and beer. Live, but unobtrusive, music. Definitely a place to visit again. Tapas are served outside every evening, weather permitting.

Enjoyable on many levels
I was part of a dinner group, meeting with a vendor, and wanted a relaxed atmosphere with good food. This fit the bill! The menu had nice combinations of in season produce and not too many items to make it overwhelming. This was my first dinner here (I had lunch once) but I got the impression that they change the menu often. There were several seafood and vegetarian options which appealed to me. I had the Icelandic char along with their lump crab soup. Both were delicious! While no one in the party ordered dessert, we did have coffee and compliments of the house, some small desserts were brought over - ice cream between homemade sugar cookies - just enough of a sweet taste to go with the beverage! This is a classy place but not pretentious.
9/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had in quite a while. We had drinks in the great inside bar before dinner, worth doing again. When walking from the hostess room, to the bar, all staff members parted and lined the carpet as though you were important enough to warranty such treatment, how refreshing. The wait staff was 'on point'. Our dinner was served promptly and cooked to order. The flavor and textures were delightful. Be sure to ask for the decaf coffee, best of any restaurant.

Nothing short of exceptional!!
When visiting family in Pennsylvania, Washington Crossing Inn is always a must! This traditional, colonial-style Inn will wow your tastebuds. Nothing traditional about the food; the Executive Chef, Alan Heckman, creates such depth in flavors and a great array of cuisines . I absolutely loved the Duck two ways! I felt like we were traveling around the world. The food, like the ambiance and the service, was superb. The accommodations of the superb wait staff and exceptional food will assure you a great experience. Would highly recommend for any dining party, foodies, large groups or special occasions. Outdoor tapas bar offers a great atmosphere and plush gardens while enjoying 5 Star food!

An excellent option!
I consider Washington Crossing Inn a very viable option for outdoor dining and indoor dining !
The patio bar area is very inviting, and the renovated dining room has excellent ambiance.
While I have not tasted everything on the menu, the food is quite good. The bread basket is a plus, and
there are a wide variety of choices. I will be coming here more often, as I expect it to get better and better!

Overall experience was wonderful-waitress was not into serving coffee or juice-seemed overwhelmed but the food and beautiful setting made up for her lack of paying attention to our small party of four.

Here is where Washington crossed the Delaware. Great dining experience inside and outside. Love it! We dine here at least monthly and are never disappointed.

Great place to eat.
I found the service very good, the food was excellent and the bartenders very friendly. I will return.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Went for an early dinner on Sunday. Even though a wedding had taken place earlier and was still winding down, the food, service, and noise level was excellent. Quiet, enjoyable place to bring a friend or a date on a late Sunday afternoon. The food service is not rushed and the waiter was mindful of our food consumption pace and our every service need. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience and look forward to our next visit.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went for the 3 course lunch price fixed menu. There are only 5 options per course but there is something for everyone. The sweet potato ravioli was absolutely delicious. Salads were great. Entrees were good. The only complaint was that you couldn't find the chicken in the chicken and dumplings. The chocolate cake dessert was delicious. For the price of 12.95 the portions were large and delicious. Well worth the drive there. After eating, take a stroll through Washington Crossing park, it helps burn off that large portion of cake.

Very good; a little disappointed
My husband and I had dinner here last night to celebrate our 5th Anniversary. We were impressed with the remodel of the building. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was good- not the best ever, but still good and high quality. Dessert was a little disappointing. Wine/drinks were excellent. Overall, we were very happy, and would go back for a nice dinner. However, I don't know if we would celebrate another anniversary or special occasion there again. I was disappointed that we were seated in the least picturesque/intimate room and our anniv. wasn't acknowledged- despite the fact that we mentioned it when making our reservation. It would have been nice to have a nicer, more intimate table or glass of champagne.

A pleasant place for lunch
I took my best friend for a birthday lunch at the Inn and we had a pleasant time. The menu has lots of variety, and the setting is very attractive. We both had a steak filet sandwich sandwich with spinach that was served with a side of fries. The tables were a bit close together (I overheard our neighbors' conversation), but it was nice to sit by the fireplace. Our young waiter was enthusiastic and paid good attention to his customers. The price was appropriate for the quality of meal that we enjoyed.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Overall it was a nice meal. My only complaint is that the prime rib I ordered came out rarer than I would have liked, and the waitress did not stick around long enough to enable me to send it back. However, my wife's short ribs looked great and apparently tasted great as well, as there was nothing left on her plate for me to finish off! I would return. Free valet parking is a big plus.

Lovely indoor & outdoor dining area
We had a lovely lunch by the fireplace on a fall day and were happy with our service, food choices and the atmosphere. The best compliment we can give is that we will definitely dine there again and will also suggest it to a few friends. We are from Haddonfield NJ and the ride up on a fall day added to the enjoyment.

Unfortunately, I don't remember our waitress's name, but she was terrific. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and two more tables occupied during our meal.

A wonderful dining experience.
Our family always enjoys a visit to Washington Crossing Inn. The atmosphere is inviting and memorable. The food is beautifully prepared, unique and delicious. Each room offers scenic views of the surrounding, historic town. But most importantly, the staff is very kind and welcoming. We bring our children (ages 7 & 5) for special occasions and find that our whole group is treated like family. We look forward to the next special visit.

Black Friday Lunch
It was very crowded this day (lots of children and I should have known better). Still the experience was very good.
The soup du jour was a tasty butternut squash. The problem was that it was served to me barely warm which is a pity on a day that won't break 40 degrees. The roasted chicken fared much better; crispy skin, yet perfectly tender meat. I really enjoyed the roasted potato and the lentils (with a slighly smokey flavour) and a couple of pints of a reasonably price beer. A solid 4 star experience ( I have had several experiences at this location over 30 years, not all pleasant).
I can honesly sat this is one of the best meals I've had here and hope to be able to enjoy others, here as well.
11/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
We often choose Washington Crossing Inn for a good classy meal. The service is always personable and attentive and we can count on the chef offering delicious creative dishes.
In nice weather the outdoor dining is a real treat.

We were there to celebrate
We were there to celebrate a birthday and the staff was fantastic! Every staff member even the busser wished the birthday girl a happy birthday and not only picked up the dessert but gave her chocolates too! The restaurant was so beautifully decorated for the holidays which made it that much more special. It was great! We will definitely be returning!

charming inn great for day trip
we were delighted to find this lovely inn in a picturesque setting near the delaware river. one feels like she is in a secluded county setting bi=ut in reality only a few minutes from rt. 29. food is delicius and well priced, wine list is good and service is gracious, professional yet warm. It is an easy drive from Peddlar's Village. Great for a day trip from parts of central nj

Up Dated Inn
It looks to me that they just painted and cleaned up the Inn. It looks gareat. You get the felling of old but in a fresh way. I know how much time and energy it takes to keep the INN in good shape. Reason I live in a 1890 house(not as old as the INN)
