Great for a date or closing a deal
Great ambiance, very appealing and private with a "trendy" vibe. Outstanding environment and you feel like you are in an upscale restaurant. Sushi was good, but didn't feel the portion sizes and quality matched the price of the sushi. Great for a date or business dinner, but not meant for casual dining or family fun. I will be back....

Went in on a random weeknight before catching a show. Waiter was amazing, very attentive without being annoying and gave great suggestions. I have been to imperia before but it had been a little while and I forgot the names of some of my favorites. Everything was delicious. There was a dj playing and it couldn't have been a better selection. Awesome music choices. Made me wanna dance and have a good time but still allowed me to enjoy my meal and conversations without having to shout or feel like im in a bar. Definitely be back soon.

The sushi was very good, especially the Red Devil and 4138 rolls. Drinks are overpriced and not particularly good, not to mention low on alcohol content. I would stick with Sake or wine. Edamame was delicious. Not as good as the first time that I went but I would definitely go back. Reverse HH from 9pm+.

I love the sushi here. The red devil is my personal favorite. For dessert I recommend the dazed and confused cookie. We had a bottle of wine and several of their signature cocktails. The lychee martini and pearl martini were a great choice

Small Plates, Big Flavor
Imperia has one of the best lounge designs, ambiance and Asian menus. Imperia House Edamame coated with salt, lemon zest, fresh togarashi chilies that adds heat and flavor pares with the effervescent sake Zipang. The Umi Kushi Ishiyaki Skewers of flakey whitefish marinated in yakimiso melts in the mouth. The interactive Hot Rock Ishiyaki is tabletop cooking of waygyu steak on sizzling hot rocks with Nori herb butter and house ponzu dipping sauce. The flourless chocolate cake and coffee completed the sensuous sequence of courses. We decided that for the next visit we will ask the Imperia chef to create a 5-course meal for us - called the Omakase. A great way to share big flavors and dining pleasure with a loved one!

Fine Oriental Dining
My husband and I were looking for an upscale Asian restaurant in Austin and didn't realize how limited the establishments would be. Fortunately, Imperia fit the bill and exceeded our expectations. The food was unique and delicious! We enjoyed the sea bass skewers, chicken lollipops, scallops and curried chicken on jasmine rice. The meal was splendid! If you're looking for fine oriental dining. Chios Imperia!

excellent sashimi, sushi and rolls!
Every piece of sushi/sashimi/roll we ordered was fresh and delicious. We also took the waitress' advice and ordered the spicy edamame...fantastic (but very hot so beware). The waitress was so friendly and very accomodating, even when I accidentally dropped a glass. Loved the whole experience and I would definitely go back.

Decent quality fish
Went here on a whim. Went early too, sat at the sushi bar and had a great experience with the attention of 3 sushi chefs. The salmon was only ok but the albacore was spectacular.

Pricey but worth it
Though the menu does not include a "cheap item", everything I ate there tasted fantastic. The fish was fresh and the waiter seemed to know his stuff and made some great suggestions. Went on a Monday night and had great service, I could imagine the restaurant being loud on a weekend. Overall I had a great experience and great meal

Outstanding food, excellent service
I took my wife to Imperia as a surprise dinner for her pre-birthday, before going to see a play. The rating as "Austin's top Asian" was not wrong: the sushi, sashimi and delicate but flavorful whitefish skewers were delicate, fresh and of very high caliber. The service was an ideal match: Tracy was very helpful, funny without being intrusive, and made our dining experience a joy! And the huge fortune cookie which he arranged to celebrate my wife's birthday was a very mic touch! All and all, an exquisite evening -- we WILL return!

Great dinner in Austin
We had taken some out of town guests from LA to Austin (from Houston) and wanted to be sure that they , and we, had a rewarding dining experience. Imperia did not disappoint. We had a mix of sushi and the Peking duck. all of which was excellent.

This place has the vibe
I'm always notably timid of going downtown to have a nice dinner with my girl, but this is the 2nd time I've been here and I just dig the atmosphere and food. And who ever caters the music playlist know what's up!
