Booked a table for four through OpenTable on a last second whim during March Ski Break. The service was top-notch. Roxy was our waiter and she was excellent. Her presentation of the 60-day dry aged rib-eye was so convincing that all four of us opted to have it for dinner! The seafood platter for appetizers was above average. The Sawmill Bay oysters were excellent. My wife and I asked that our rib-eye prepared rare and our friends asked for theirs medium-rare. The steaks were presented exactly as advertised and were fantastic. The sides (asparagus, mushrooms, creamed potato) were great accompaniments to the mains. The gourmet mac'n'cheese that Roxy brought to the table was a welcome bonus. The ambience was casual and family friendly

The food is always consistent
The food is always consistent in terms of quality and presentation. Fresh ingredients and good service.
Just one recommendation - with the classic look of the restaurant, and the cookware you can bring to cook at the table, please add "Crepe Suzette" to the menu. We are the second table to ask for this dessert that evening. The server told me that Four Seasons has Crepe Suzette, but we would like to dine at the Grill having Crepe Suzette! Please consider.

Service was great! We had the Peppered Bison Carpaccio to start and both found the balance of truffle oil with the bison and greens made it more like a very rich salad, but very good. The waiter split the order without being asked - nice touch. Entree was the Pacific Sablefish - perfectly cooked - loved it. The idea of the restrauant is to have a kid free dining experience within the Wildflower and it worked very well for a nice meal for 2.

Great atmosphere, reserved but not stuffy. Service was great and staff was very kind to 7 y.o. daughter. Restaurant had a kids buffet that night with lots of options. Husband and I both had steaks which were delicious, beautifully presented with sauce and condiments. Ordered sautéed mushrooms and asparagus as sides which were good as well. Apple crumble for dessert was the low point of the meal, not terrible but not as good as the rest. Will definitely return on our next trip to Whistler.

We loved our table by the fireplace. Every item on the seafood platter was fresh. The beet salad was fresh and colorful. The Tomahawk steak was juicy and cooked perfectly. I loved the apple and cranberry crumble with vanilla ice cream dessert but needed a little but more ice cream. We will return and try other dishes next time.

Great food with great wine
The Grill Room is a great little restaurant, it features an amazing menu that continues to change throughout the seasons to offer different local and regional ingredients. My wife and I always enjoy the best Fairmont service we can get anywhere and we always excitedly look forward to dining at this amazing restaurant. I love the fresh beet salad, followed by either the rack of lamb or the new york steak and with the cheese plate for desert, you feel very fulfilled and hopefully you can enjoy one of the great cocktails from Mallard Lounge afterwards.

Very Pleasantly Surprised!
We were warmly greeted by name upon our arrival & the service was impeccable throughout. The complimentary crab cake was a pleasant surprise & was very good. The signature tomato soup (and entertaining tableside show) & sable fish was heavenly- perfectly done! The New York steak was prepared perfectly & the bordaise sauce was delicious. The creme brûlée was creamy, smooth and deliciously decorated with cookies and fruit. The peanut & chocolate tart was artistically presented with a scoop of ice cream on top. To end the meal, we were presented with complimentary candy floss. The portions were sizeable...just don't load up on the delicious breads. The Grill room was wonderful and we were fortunate to have Melandro (so friendly) serve us!

Amazing food, beautiful restaurant!
My girlfriend and I had an amazing night here. The restaurant looks amazing and was really romantic and fancy. Our waiter, Warren, was great - very professional and friendly to talk to and really took the time to talk to us. The food was incredible and steaks beautifully cooked, plus the 3 courses for $41 was a great price for what we got. Loved the candy floss at the very end too - nice touch. The wine list is very extensive but $50 for the cheapest bottle is a little pricy. Would definitely reccommend if you're looking for a fancier style meal in Whistler.

A great decision!
I scoured the web for restaurant reviews before heading to Whistler for the weekend. I wanted a first class dinner, and The Grill Room surpassed my expectations. It had the most positive reviews in the area I was staying, and I'm happy that my decision was the right one!

Porterhouse Steak for Two
Wow! The steak here is ultra top shelf. We had the Porterhouse steak for two and was not disappointed: tender, juicy and served with the bone and a carving knife so you can hack off the last trimmings. The vegetables were a complement to the fantastic steak. We did not order a sauce, but asked for horseradish sauce. But after one taste of the steak we put the horseradish aside -- it was too good to mask!
Service was attentive and friendly, without getting overbearing. We were dressed smart casual and did not feel out of place. We had glasses of the Argentinian Malbec, and that was exquisite -- I've never had a Malbec like it from BC Liquor!
If you are in staying at the Fairmont Whistler, or even in the village, this is a special treat.

Excellent service overall!
Our server for the evening Roxy was the "best"! Absolutely pleasant staff all around friendly, and efficient. Food was the best! Nice way to spend our anniversary evening.

Great high end place
The grill room is not cheap but the experience was terrific. The staff was fantastic and the food measured up to the cost. What a terrific experience!

Best Food Ever!
The Grill Room provided the very best ambiance and food combination we have ever had. The food was prepared with care and was succulent melt in your mouth. The ambiance was romantic with the snow falling outside and the roaring fire in the dining room. You couldn't ask for a better experience.
