While we thought the food was excellent, we were disappointed with a few things. We felt the prices were too high and the service was average for a 4 to 5 star restaurant. There were only 4 tables and 2 waiters split them. We would have possibly had dessert but the waiter took too long to return. We used a $25 coupon from restaurant.com but the gratuity was almost 25%. For this we left feeling cheated in a way despite our great food, the service was much to be desired.

We decided to give Andrew's
We decided to give Andrew's another try after a very good review in the newspaper. In the past we were not impressed with the food. Now, it's a winner - right now one of the best in the metro area. We hope they keep it up. I had the seared halibut with black rice and a beet sauce. My wife had the pork tenderloin with a pomegranate sauce. Both were splendid. The mushroom and onion tart was great. The wait staff highly touted the mushroom soup. It was pretty good, but not amazing. The apple tart was a delightful ending to a great meal.

Not only was the food outstanding, but my friend and I were given a private booth for our lunch. I shared that this would be a lingering lunch since we had not seen each other in such a long time. The ambience added so much to our meal and time shared.

The salmon was outstanding, the best I've ever had, and the server was kind enough to provide a petite filet that was not on the dinner menu.
The cheese plate appetizer was also outstanding.
Our table was perfect and we had a wonderful view of the sunset.
Could not have been a better meal.

Great Food, Need Bread!
First, the food was great! Everything was fresh and well prepared. The service overall was good, but there were a few glitches. To begin when we arrived at the hotel it was somewhat unclear where the restaurant was. There is a large bar that you must pass through to to get to the hostess desk. There were no clear markings showing the check in point, and since the hostess was not there it was confusing for a first timer. Second, and a pet peeve of mine, is we were never offered any bread. There were bread plates on the table, but they remained empty for the meal. Other than that, our waiter was nice and things came in a timely manner. The only other comment I would make is the wine list is on the high priced side for SE Wisconsin.

Love the new menu
From food to service - It was all wonderful! We will be back soon!

Off the beaten path
Food at lunch for 5 of us was very good.
Very quiet and serene.

Small but great
Set in the Delafield Hotel, this small but fine dining resturaunt is great for entertaining clients or guests. I eat there often and I have never been disapointed. We eat there for work a lot, but I finally took my wife there. Was a great experience in a great setting.

Andrews has become the fine
Andrews has become the fine dining destination on the west side of the metro area. We've eaten there three times in the last month (twice for dinner and once for brunch) and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences. I'm a real fan of the salmon and the halibut entrees, as well as the apple tart dessert.

Four of dined on a Thursday
Four of dined on a Thursday night. Only one other table occupied so was very quiet. Quite elegant. Food was good but a bit expensive. Small but varied menu. Our waiter was very knowledgable about all entrees. I asked him if also prepared the food, he was tha tinformative.
Had an enjoyable meal and will likely return in the next 6 weeks

We've had three dinners and
We've had three dinners and a brunch at Andrews in the past six weeks and just love the place now that they have a great new chef. We really like the halibut and the salmon preparations. The apple tart is wonderful, but the dessert with topical fruits in sauce and sorbet is amazing.

Andrews was Fantastic!!!!
The chef is a culinary genius!!! Everything was extremely fresh and inventive. The halibut was awesome.
My husband loved the duck.

Second time there. Cool location, comfortable dining room especially the private booths. The food was flavor able, the service was good enough but for the environment I would have expected 1 notch better service. Still worth the visit because for other reasons there are limited choices in the area.

We dined there to celebrate
We dined there to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated in a quiet booth which was perfect. Food was interesting and delicious. And for desert they served us a creme brûlée which was the best I've ever had.

A surprise waiting to be found!
My husband and I found out about Andrews through Restaurant.com. Our experience was excellent and I can only hope others discover the same Andrews has to offer both in outstanding, fresh entrees and a waiter that knew the details to almost every dish because of experience not just hear-say.

Food was very good, our waitress
Food was very good, our waitress was very accommodating and friendly ( when I asked her for a black napkin because I had black pants on she was kind enough to find one for me), we ate outside and the porch was lovely and scenery beautiful. The only downside was that our food order, I feel, took too long to come. All in all though it was a very enjoyable experience and we would most definitely dine at Andrews again.

A wonderful dining experience.
A wonderful dining experience. Located in the heart of Wisconsin's Lake Country, this restaurant operates on the first floor of the beautiful upscale Delafield Hotel.

Great Second Visit
Had an excellent second visit at Andrews. The food was great and the service was top notch. The only comment I would make is that their wine list tends to skew to the more expensive side.

Staff was excellent and our waiter, John was excellent. The chef prepares gourmet style dishes, no matter if it is for Dinner or Breakfast
7/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
I chose Andrew's to meet with an old friend and have a great lunch where we could have plenty of time to catch up and not feel rushed. It was all that and more. The food was delicious, the table and room were warm and welcoming and best of all we never felt hurried by the wait staff. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Relaxing, quiet, delicious.
My husband and I went to Andrews for dinner. We were able to get a table outside on the deck with a beautiful view of lake country. It was quiet and relaxing. Our waiter provided excellent service. He made sure we were taken well care of without being bothersome. The food was amazing. We both had a petit salad to start. The dressing was light and flavorful and I loved how the nuts and blue cheese complimented everything. I had the beef tenderloin and my husband had the sea bass. My tenderloin was cooked just as I asked. It was very tender and paired perfectly with mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes. My husbands sea bass was great as well. There was a nice crispy crust on one side of the fish that gave it nice crunch and excellent flavor.

Lake Country Gem
This restaurant is a real Lake Country gem. The Sea Bass and Ahi entrées were just wonderful- perfectly prepared and creatively served. The beet salad was just loaded with beets and other vegies. It was a banquet for the eyes. They have a great wine list with very generous pours.
This is a perfect place for quiet conversation as a couple or with friends.
Well worth the money!

Perfect for a special meal.
Pricey but worth it. Presentation is beautiful; creative. Service was courteous and smooth. Food was delicious.

Dining with Attention to Detail
From the wine list and recommendations to the vegan options, Andrews was a true dining experience. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and helpful in recommending wine pairings. The chef accommodated specific dietary needs. The food was as beautiful as it was delicious.

A terrific lunch spot
I live 15 minutes away and I have never gone here, stopped by for a business lunch and I was impressed with the food and the service, I plan on going back again.

Good Food, Expensive Wine
Andrews is a great place for dinner, The food and service were excellent. The only complaint I have about the restaurant is their wine list. It tends to only have expensive wines. I decided on their lobster entree and felt a nice bottle of Chardonnay would go well with it. Cheapest Chardonnay $81.00 and the prices shot up from there. These numbers are out of line compared to other high end dining spots in SE Wisconsin. Even Sanford has a handful of Chardonnays under $50.00. I have nothing against expensive wine, but their needs to be some range in prices.

Loved everything we had. Ate here 2 nights in a row. Food was as good as a lot of Chicago restaurants. The ceviche was amazing! Scallops, Surf & Turf, sea bass, everything was wonderful. Even ate here for breakfast. Had smoked pork crepes. It was ridiculously good. Love the private booths. LOVE THIS PLACE!
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had a wonderful evening at Andrews. The ambiance was perfect, waitstaff was very attentive, and private booth was exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend this for a quiet night out with someone special.

I never write reviews for anything but this food was outstanding! The entree's and soup of the day were the best!

I doubt you could find a superior dining experience anywhere in the area. Great food, attentive but not pesty service, warm and quiet atmosphere... Andrew's has it all!

Food and service were fantastic.
Food and service were fantastic. Entrees could have had more vegetables (4 slices of cauliflower and 5 sliced Brussels sprouts on the respective entrees are not a "side"). Good for special occasions because it is pricey.

The fall menu is great.
Excellent food and great service. Their new fall menu has some nice additions. The sea bass was very good and you should not pass up the chocolate soufflé for dessert.

A foodies germ
We ordered the sea bass and lamb chops and presentation and quality of the dishes were superb. Plus afterwards there was a great band called the acoustics playing in the bar which completed the evening nicely .

We had a great dinner at Andrews - in one of their wonderful cozy dining booths. I had the Angus filet and my husband had a grilled lamb special. Both were perfect. So much so we ordered a yummy chocolate soufflé to finish off the night. We will definitely return.

The best dining experience I've had
My companion and I arrived at our reservation time and were greeted at the door by a young man in his splendid uniform from St. John's Military Academy - a nice touch. We were seated promptly in a large booth which seemed liked a small room just for we two. The wall art was interesting. Our server was excellent as were the various wait staff who passed by. Our meals were magnificent; my compliments to the chef. The combinations of unusual flavors that complemented the main course were very much appreciated. We began our meal with the delicious mushroom soup and didn't have to wait long for our main course. We were both very pleased with the soup, our main course, the crusty bread and the fabulous pear tart for dessert.

Changed be a new chef
The food is greatly improved from the prior chefs who worked there. The new chef has created a top notch menu that is absolutely delightful. The food is creative and the dishes are cohesive with great flavors. Use of local ingredients is a winning strategy. This chef is definitely in the small group of the top chefs of this state.
The service is also much improved. When this place first opened up years ago, the servers were at times incompetent and often rude. Friends of mine have never returned to the restaurant after their poor treatment by the servers years ago. The current servers, on the other hand, are professional, attentive, polite, and personable.
The owners should build on this and never revert back to their bad old ways.

I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten in my life. The entire meal was of the highest quality and showed imagination.

I took my oldest grandson (14) on a get-away overnight to this wonderful hotel and restaurant. We had breakfast there and they served the best coffee I have ever had! Very smooth and flavorful! I had the cinnamon roll french toast which was topped with
apples and it was delicious and a generous serving. My grandson had the home made corn beef hash which was chunks for tender corned beef and roasted potatoes and carmeliized onions. He said it was fantastic! Service was very good and our server was very attentive filling our coffee cups several times and very friendly. I would recommend it to anyone!

A True Fine Dining Experience
Andrew's came highly recommended, and it definitely lived up to and exceeded our expectations. The menu is interesting, the food outstanding and the service the best we have had anywhere. Starting with appetizers and ending with dessert, Chef Jonna and her staff have created a true fine dining experience in Delafield that can compete with any restaurant in the Milwaukee or Chicago area. We highly recommend a visit to Andrew's; you will not be disappointed!

A Foodie Fab Find
My fiance brought me here for a night of romance and fine dining... It was both! I am a foodie from NYC, and Zac loves to eat - at Andrew's we were both in Heaven. One dish was better than the next - from the appys to the main courses to our dessert. Each dish was layered with flavor; the food was fresh and savory; the combinations were different and worked to please even the most finicky palate. This is one of my Top 10 restaurants of all time. And, - the bartender may kill me because it took two of them to make - have a cappucino martini for dessert. O. M. G. Ends the meal perfectly.

The Thanksgiving buffet offered
The Thanksgiving buffet offered a bevy of foodie
Pleasing dishes -- with one exception, the Haney tasting turkey.
When the Turkey is supposed tone the star of a meal, this is a shame!
The array of unique salads and traditional sides
With the chef's unique touch (think crunchy shallots on the green bean casserole instead of canned onion rings)
Would have made up for the bad turkey any other day of the year!

My wife and I found ourselves unexpectedly out-of-town for our anniversary celebration. A little internet surfing and my attention was caught by Andrew's and the Delafield Hotel. The reviews sounded good and the geography fit in well with our travel. What a delightful find! Staff was friendly yet professional, the food was creatively and delightfully prepared My wife enjoyed the duck and I was delighted with the scallops. We enjoyed a wonderful evening celebration with last minute planning, very pleased with the entire experience.
