accidental great find
visiting Nashville on a trip purchased during a charity event we arrived late to go out and find somewhere. So Mason's in the hotel was the option. Very please we dined there. Appitizers were large and very good. Dinner service was very personable and prompt. The manager and chef stopped by to make sure meal and service was acceptable. We will dine there on our next visit regardless were we stay.

Everything was great only
Everything was great only one complaint the Alaskan King crab legs had no taste. That is really what excited me about going there. They should of been sweet but they weren't. On the other hand the shrimp were excellent had wonderful flavor. Being originally from New England we know our seafood. Overall we had a wonderful time just for next year watch the seafood.

Excellent Easter Brunch
We went to Loew's Vanderbilt for Easter brunch and it was excellent. Strip steak and rack of lamb and jumbo cocktail shrimp, all among the best I've ever tasted! Some desserts average, but a slice of chocolate layer cake that I'm still thinking about. Way too much food even to taste--skipped breakfast foods and salad altogether. Even validated our parking ticket.

Wow, a New Find in Nashville
The food was original and fabulous. We all ordered different items and we all were thrilled. Liked it so much we immediately made a reservation for brunch two days later. Brunch was also terrific. Check out the Grilled Peach salad and the Fried Green Tomato BLT.

New favorite Midtown Resturant
We met up with friends at Mason's because of another friend's suggestion. What a nice surprise. This new addition to the Nashville food scene is really a special find. Lots of unique dishes such as the crab corn dogs and pecan crusted goat cheese salad and new takes on old favorites like fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits and grilled halibut. The tri-tip steak was seasoned well and delicious too. Nice wine list. Tyler, our server took very good care of us and would show up just when needed. Lisa has a special birthday coming up and I think I'm going to book it at Mason's. Just so happy I found out about it before her big day.

Everything was perfect, the food, the service and the prices were reasonable for such a nice meal. I would return in a heartbeat!

Up and coming
Mason's is new and is trying to do a few special things that will help drive the business. The night I was there it was a slow night, it was on a Sunday night. Fathers Day. The Shrimp and Grits was wonderful just like being in New Orleans. The service was very good as well. We will go back and also we will tell our friends about Mason's

We were not sure what to expect when we got there. Hotel restaurants are not always the best but Mason's far exceeded our expectations. From the cool interior to the great wait staff that took great care of us.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone living or visiting Nashville.

Mason's is good!
A group of us were there on Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. The menu is unusual and interesting. The grilled peach salad was fabulous, and we all agreed the mushroom grits were fantastic. Those who like bone marrow said it was superb. All our entrees were well received.
The sides are billed as "large enough to share." but they are, in fact, small portions. All of them were delicious, but we would have ordered more.
Even the ice cubes are interesting!
The chocolate mousse pie that was the best dessert I have ever had.
We will return for sure, and since we live down the street, we will return often! The breakfast and lunch menus looked fun.
Complimentary valet parking is GREAT. Locals need to know about that!

Stellar hotel restaurant
Stayed at the Loews Vanderbilt. Ate at the restaurant 3 times in three days and loved it each time. Best deviled eggs I've ever had (twice). The fried green tomato was great and the meringue dessert one of the best desserts I've had in a long time (white cake topped with peach icecream and covered with a deep meringue. Yum.
Beautiful open space and great lounge for drinks. Would definitely recommend.

The food was very good and
The food was very good and not your normal Brunch dishes. The Crab Corndogs were a very good appetizer and they have several main dished built around biscuits.

Don't miss eathing here!
So, about two weeks ago my wife and I were in Florida with some friends and ate at the #1 rated steakhouse in the US - Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa. While the service there was fantastic and the food was very good, my meal at Mason's was hands-down, no-contest, much better than at Bern's. From the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts, everything was absolutely fantastic. The portion sizes were great and allowed us to have the appetizer, meal and desserts without being overly stuffed. Definitely worth going back to over and over again - don't miss this place!

Great southern haute cuisine food! Really outshines Husk. Great drinks and quite good service.

The food was very good and service very knowledgable and accomodating. Ambience feels like a hotel restaurant...food much better.

Another Beautiful NV Restaurant
Inventive, limited menu, healthy portions (by that I mean not overlarge and I mean that as a good thing); awesome bread and butter; awesome server. The hotel is gorgeous--I had never been inside. Hotel valet parking makes for an easy in and out. We'll be back--I'm sorry they're taking sweetbreads off the menu, though, for lack of interest. C'mon Nashville, if we want t keep this repution for over new restaurant scene going, we gotta be adventurous and a little continental!

We really enjoyed the jars and deviled egg appetizers! And Wednesday is $5 burger night!!! Would definitely go back.

Mason's Exceeds Expectations
Mason's, located in Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, is a fabulous find. This restaurant delivers fabulous food that give a nod to many regions. The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus provide an adventure in palate-pleasing dishes. The Cuban sandwich for lunch was exemplary. The fried green tomato BLT was amazing and the deviled eggs are an exciting surprise. All of the food was delicious and the service was perfectly timed and extremely helpful. Mason's is beautifully decorated and the ambiance is perfect. Kudos to the chef, employees, and management of Mason's at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

Awesome dinner....great spin
Awesome dinner....great spin on southern food! My daughter said the burger was the best in Nashville. I loved the shrimp and grits. The pork was so tender and flavorful per my husband and of course I love the appetizer of deviled eggs. I will continue dining at Masons...yum!

Beyond Expectations of Food
Amazing food, but there was no one there on Wednesday night because they had a $5 burger and $3 draft special. The bar across the building was packed and I should have gone for that. The food was amazing, but it's not cheap. It's as good of food that you can get anywhere in Nashville, but it's not worth the price to be in a hotel. If you're staying at Lowes it's a great restaurant. If not check out Etch Husk Margot or Rolf and Daughters. I don't see this place making it unless they lower their prices.

Wonderful brunch experience!
I took my parents here for brunch while they were in town, and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. It was quiet when we got there, but it filled up a bit as we sat there. Our server was exceptionally friendly and helpful--everything on the menu looked great, so he helped us narrow it down. My mom's french toast was decadent--more like a dessert, if you're into that kind of thing! I had the Jack White (I believe that's the name) wrap with fried green tomatoes, bacon, eggs, etc., and it was absolutely delicious. I worried that it would seem a little "safe," but it was just what I wanted. My dad had the sling blade, and raved about it. All in all, totally satisfied and it's a super convenient location for me. I'll definitely be going back!

Not your average hotel restaurant
Industrial modern look. Elegant atmosphere. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. I only visited for lunch, but noticed a variety of well-priced menu items. I ordered the Maverick burger with french fries. The burger was well-portioned, so much so, that I got to have leftovers of it later. The burger featured a housemade pimento cheese, pork belly and fried green tomatoes. Seriously? Beautiful presentation and even better taste. Well-balanced flavors. Chef Frohne and staff, keep up the great food. Can't wait to come back to Mason's for dinner.

Southern with a Twist
We had a wonderful experience at Masons! Our group ordered the Chicken Galantine, Shrimp and Grits, Halibut and NY Strip... All of which were delicious! Definitely delivered an updated version of classic southern flavors. Cocktails and beer offerings were eclectic and wonderful as well.

Loved Lunch - Can't Wait for Dinner
Had a wonderful lunch in the restaurant section (the bar area across the hall looks just as big) of Mason's with a friend. Looks like an excellent place for business lunches, too. Very cool decor. We could easily hear each other, so noise level was very tolerable. Service was fantastic - attentive and fast. Food was top notch, inventive and delicious. Will definitely go back to try dinner in the near future.

Mostly a Hit
Had a lovely dinner here, with an outstanding mojito and an amazing hamburger (one of the best I've ever had). Corn bisque was very good, too. Excellent service, but didn't care for the ambiance or decor--a bit too cold and sparse for my taste. Only misfire, food-wise, was the strawberry/rhubarb fried pie, the crust for which was heavy and not at all flaky, and the accompanying vanilla ice cream was rock hard and thus tasteless. Nonetheless, I recommend Mason's, and hope it does well.

Mason's is not to be missed
Mason's is located in the Loews Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel. First thing, access is easy, complimentary and fast with the valet service. That's very, very nice. My husband and I went with another couple. The restaurant has an intriguing menu and each dish we tried was a wonderful discovery. We had the crab corn dogs, fried green tomatoes, and bone marrow confit as appetizers. They were all crazy good and differently done. As entrees we had the Shrimp and Grits, the Pork Shank, and the Halibut. Every dish was over the top pleasing. The strawberry rhubarb pie was scrumptious too. The chef here has a gift for sure. These were imaginative dishes at every turn. This is one of Nashville's best restaurants and not to be missed!

Great food, but over-priced
We were visiting Nashville for my sister's birthday and chose Mason's based on proximity to out hotel and previous reviews. The food was excellent but I felt it was over-priced considering the portion size. We ordered the deviled eggs and the special of a filet over Gouda grits and the shrimp and grits. The special cost $34 and it was a very small piece of meat.
