Fantastic drinks more than make up for somewhat boring menu. Food was fresh and well prepared, but not overly imaginative.

The scenic view is of the Hawaiian entertainment - always excellent. For the brunch I would make a request to sit in the room with the entertainment. We have once been able to do that and it was much better to see the dancers. The advantage of the other room is you are near the food. There is a stage in that room also and had there been entertainment there (they had a shave ice bar set up), it would have been perfect.
The food is great. There is something for everyone in the buffet. I would say the dessert is the most lacking. Very little to choose from.
But the ambience, the basic food, the entertainment and the great service is worth it all.

great bday experience
Took my hubby on his bday, and we had a great time! our server Mia was super sweet and knowledgeable. Food was good, tasty and nicely plated. there a good selections of appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks, which makes it a bit hard to choose. At the end, Mia surprised my husband with a yummy mini pineapple upside down cake and we also ordered the homemade bread pudding which was delicious. Cute hawaiian atmosphere although we were the only ones in the dining room on a Tues night. Will recommend!

Don the Beachcomber reminded me of my days living in Hawaii. The ambiance is reminiscent of the last few authentic tiki bars of yesteryear. I ordered Huli Huli chicken didn't miss a beat that was pretty tasty. We also ordered ahi tacos amazing! The ambiance and decoration is truly unique. Go with good company, be adventurous with the food, and travel to the days of Hawaiis colorful past.
Much like Damon's in Glendale or La Mariana Sailing Club in Honolulu.

Fun at Don The Beachcomber
The food was excellent although, I won't order crab legs again, they are just too hard to open and messy, they were great tasting, I would order them, if they could bring them to the table out of the shell. The service was excellent! Our waiter, Tyler was spot on! So friendly.
Once we finished our meal, we explored the place (a lot to look at) and found ourselves in one of the bars where the group Flyers were playing. It was a pleasant surprise to see them there, we used to go to Busters where they played for years and wondered where they went. It was a great evening, definitely will go back!

Polynesian show at brunch was nice.
We went for Mother's Day brunch. Food was ok. There was not a lot of service given it was a brunch but there was 18% gratuity added for just a party of 3. I felt our server didn't even try to help us given he knew he was guaranteed a good tip anyway.

Don the Beachcomer
We went there for Mother's Day Brunch. LOVED IT! The food was ok....the carving station only had Kalua pig and beef brisket....that would've been ok except alot of people don't eat pork or beef. Was expecting at least turkey or maybe even prime rib would've been nice. Other than that the service was excellent and the entertainment was da bomb. It was so good we are going back for Father's Day Brunch!!!

Last of the Great Tiki Bars in OC
I haven't been to Don's in 20 years. My wife and I stopped in for a light dinner and decided on appetizers. This is the last of the great tiki bars in Orange County and, while a bit dated, is still a fun place for dinner and drinks. We had the coconut shrimp, sticky ribs, pork sliders and fried green beans. All dishes were tasty and presented well. If I have a gripe, it is the service, which was mediocre at best. I will say the floor manager made it a point to stop by each table and give his personal attention. I just wish the server had been half that attentive.

Thursday Night With Friends
Took my wife and two of her picky friends to dinner on a Thursday night. Great service and great food. Very attentive service even when the place got busy. Great happy hour drink prices until 7:00PM and the Thursday night "Island rib" special was delicous with lots of meaty ribs. Prices were very reasonably. The special was $14.99 and non specials oredered by the group were $18.99.

Come here for the drinks
The food is great but the drinks, especially the Tiki drinks, are what make Don the Beachcomber so famous. Vibrant bar scene with brave karaoke souls at the Dagger Bar. An added plus is Don the Beachcomber hosts a bi-monthly International Tiki Market Place, where 40+ vendors congregate and sell their wares. Truly a unique and worthwhile experience!

The food was great, the mai tai was interesting...the bar had karaoke going on which was distracting at times if the singer hit the wrong note...lol.

Aloha Don The Beachcomber!
We went for drinks and appetizers. We had amazing calamari and the ribs fell off the bone and were so good!
The drinks were tasty and the happy hour was very well priced. We ended up having desert and we enjoyed every bite.
I love the hawaiian flair and the waterfall feature in the dining room is very relaxing. We felt like we were on vacation.
We will be back for the live music and food for sure!

This was not the first time
This was not the first time we had been to this restaurant. However, I was not aware that it was in the Open Table program. If you want to feel like you are in Hawaii, than this is the place to go.

I loved the atmosphere, the music and how it was nice and relaxing. The food was good. We should of tried some of the pork or poke tacos, next time.
