Food was great and the service was the best. At the end of the main meal, the chef brought out free dessert that the he was experimenting. It was excellent.

I brought my husband here for his birthday since he loves steak. We had a wonderful experience here! It was a bit more fancy than we expected though so we felt a bit under dressed. The staff was extremely nice and the food was excellent. We also got a nice sample of dessert from the chef. I will definitely be back and will recommend it to friends.

We sat upstairs and it was fine until a large party came in. They had been drinking and were quite loud and as the room is fairly small, they echoed. I could hardly hear my friend talking over them. It kind of ruined the dinner but the food and service were outstanding!!!

Great food and service. The
Great food and service. The menu has many creative dishes including some wonderful wild game entrees. Try the wild mushroom appetizer for a surprisingly good starter. For dessert, the chocolate chip bread pudding is to die for. The bartenders make a good honest cocktail and if you ask, they'll serve you some delicious spiced nuts with your drink.

Outstanding place for brunch,
Outstanding place for brunch, for two or a large group. Great presentation (carving stations, omelette, fajita and pasta stations, and savory food selections.) Delicious desserts and live music.

One of the best brunch buffets
We enjoyed St. Patrick's Day brunch. Everything was wonderful. The special Irish food, along with the usual brunch dishes, and green champagne made the holiday experience terrific. Quality meat and seafood. Excellent and caring service. Can't wait to go back.

Had heard about this place
Had heard about this place before we went and it was always positive. First thing we notice was the bar area which looked pretty lively. There was a good crowd there but between the live entertainment and the crowd it keep the noise level pretty high where we ate in the adjacent dining area. Not too bad though as I was able to keep up a conversation very easily. I had a steak which was good but a little dry for being a medium rare. Wife had the seabass which was very good. Had mushrooms first which I thought were very good as well. Overall the food was good with decent portions. The service was excellent. Our waiter was on the spot and very nice and helpful. Overall a nice place to eat with a friendly staff.

We went to Manhattan when
We went to Manhattan when it was first opened after replacing one our favorite local spots. Whether it was the original ambiance and menu or just we missed the old place, we were not impressed.
We decided to try it again for seafood this time and we were pleasantly surprised by the choices on the menu, the service and vibe. My ahi was excellent especially the wasabi potatoes. My husband's lobster bisque and lobster was equally deliciosu.
Steve was training Ashton and they both were very attentive.
We will be going back

High standards are obvious.
High standards are obvious. The bartenders are skilled and the waiters and busboys are outstanding. We visited the Bar/Jazz lounge before and after dinner. It was a great treat with a very personable band. I highly recommend MS&S. It is pricy and we definitely got what we paid for! It was an exceptional night.

Great food and service. The
Great food and service. The wild mushroom appetizer is a delight as are the sauteed jumbo shrimp. Short ribs are excellent and the game dishes are fabulous. Carol, the bartender, knows how to make an honest cocktail and is always happy to provide those delicious spiced nuts to the bar patrons who want some munchies with their drinks. Steve, the waiter, is the best in the business.
4/12/2013 4:00:00 PM
The short ribs that I ordered were the best I'd ever had! The waitress asked if I wanted a spoon for the marrow and she brought one, but alas there was no marrow to be found... If the wait staff in the dining room was as enthusiastic and accommodating as the staff in the bar or the hostess that greeted us, this place would be over the top in perfection. I'm looking forward to returning!

Love Manhattan's Sunday brunch!
As Sunday brunch foodies, we have been to Manhattan Steak & Seafood several times. What I love about Manhattan is their delicious food, great service, happy employees, live music, and a reasonable price. What my hubby likes is their seafood: cracked crab legs, mussles, shrimp, lox/bagles, & fresh sushi and, of course, his unlimited bubbly. They have traditional brunch items but Manhattan always prepares something different to surprises us - last weekend was duck & beef stroganoff made from filet mignon. They have lots of good food for the kids too but to top it off, their prices are very reasonable (approx. $30/pp) unless you order O.J. to go with your champange but that is just a minor annoyance compared to all that Manhattan has to offer!

Mother's Day brunch
Since Mr. Stox closed, we needed a new place to go for Mother's Day brunch.
This place didn't quite have the unique variety of Mr. Stox but they did have a
good selection. We had a good time.

The Rib-eye is heavenly..
The Rib-eye is heavenly.. My son always order steak when we dine out. He took one bite. Pause and was speechless. It literally melt in his mouth. He took his time and enjoyed every piece of it.
We also ordered Scalloped with risotto and polenta, and bone-in -rib with nagged potato. Also hits. Great place to treat a live one, great experience.
5/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
very nice place, nice bar, nice tables, nice establishment.

Very Nice, Romantic, Almost Perfect
A large parking lot that with no valet (I like). We asked to be seated near the bar so we could hear the jazz band playing (very good) & the hostess was happy to oblige. A pleasant, romantic ambiance. My '007 martini' was VERY good. The Lobster Bisque was lukewarm (should have been hot). Shrimp cocktail was delicious with a guacamole sauce & cocktail sauce. A bit messy though. The timing of courses was a bit off.
The lamb and the rib eye were perfect. For desert, a very tasty chocolate cake. We finished with coffee. The sweetener packets were clumpy & the cream (pre-warmed) was lumpy & separated in my coffee. Our server apologized profusely & was quick to correct. Overall, the food was superb and we had an excellent, romantic evening.

Great Intimate Dining
Great food, great ambience, great staff....we will be back!!!
5/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very good food, service and nice size cocktails. Worth a visit for a nice meal out. Just ask to not be seated upstairs, we felt like outcasts in a room that was too bright with no music
5/31/2013 4:00:00 PM
Once again Carol demonstrated
Once again Carol demonstrated why she is the best bartender in O.C. and Steve showed why he is the best waiter anywhere. The food was outstanding for every course. The slow cooked bone-in short rib is a work of art. The wild mushroom appetizer is to die for and the chocolate chip bread pudding is the perfect way to end a meal.

Very Good - Not Great
Good food, but not superb. Service was spotty, probably because it was a Friday evening and the restaurant was crowded. We recommend the restaurant, but not when it is likely to be full, Parking lot had only two places left when we arrived at 6:30 PM while the restaurant was virtually empty, but their bar was crowded, so don't know where the diners that came later parked. Shortly after 7 PM the restaurant was virtually full.
We made our reservation through Open Table and were supposed to receive 100 points when we got there, but nobody at the restaurant seemed to know anything about that.
6/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fabulous steak house!
The only reason this is not 5 stars is that it is pricey, especially the cocktails. $15 for a cocktail is way over the top.
It's wonderful to enjoy dining without LOUD music etc, this place is perfect for actually being able to converse and enjoy!
I only wish they offered a more budget-friendly menu, we'd be here every weekend!
6/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
On a rare occasion you come accross a restaurant where everything works. This was exactly that place. Food was to die for. The service was outstanding from the bar to the dining room. Every special request was handled as if you were a VIP. It was my first visit and I already love this restaurant. We had the onion soup - perfect; beet salad - perfect; lobster - excellent and also the presentation was lovely.
7/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Been here a few times and never leave disappointed. Great Service and Great food. There was a family with some kids near us so the noise level was higher than most nights but I can't fault the restaurant for this. Nice live music in the bar after dinner make it a fun night out with some great steak to go along with it.
8/9/2013 5:00:00 PM
good night on the town
nice spot to enjoy a nice dinner and the service was great
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food! Great service and one of the only places left that you can have game for dinner. I had the wild boar chops and they were amazing! I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time the service has been amazing and the food was delicious. It is worth the drive and is a nice place to take your significant other, celebrate a special occasion or just dine in elegance.
8/29/2013 5:00:00 PM
One of those classic steakhouses that you do not find very often. A bit pricey, but the attentive and friendly service and the live band made it worthwhile.

Marvelous service, and food. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting a quiet place to dine with someone special and an intimate family gathering.

Best Sunday Brunch in OC!
Manhattan Steak and Seafood is not only an outstanding dinner spot, their Sunday Champagne Brunch is over the top! The food is arranged in a very inviting manner with specific food types grouped together. Do not, repeat do not, pass up the Bloody Mary Bar. It is tempting to over eat but you will miss something very special if you don't save room for the delectable desserts which are lovingly prepared by hand during the early morning hours preceding brunch. The ambience is enhanced by "Blackwoods", a 3-piece combo that plays wonderful music with a volume loud enough to be enjoyed but not so loud as to impose on your dining or conversation. If you go, it will be a bonus if you are fortunate enough to be served by Ashton, our favorite!
9/14/2013 5:00:00 PM
Had a wonderful birthday dinner with incredible food and service.
9/19/2013 5:00:00 PM
Waiter was more interested in pushing drinks. Other staff was great. Food was very good.
Music in the bar was first-rate. We will be back.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
A definite must
Mahattans was incredible. Their menu is like no other in the OC. The band was awesome. They played great songs to dance to without being loud. A lttle on the pricey side but worth it
10/3/2013 5:00:00 PM
Always a favorite
The ambience, the staff and the foos (and drinks) are held to the highest standard. My husband and I stumbled across this place by chance when we moved to the area (our first apartment together). It's an unassuming building, almost looks like a residential property amongst a commercial neighborhood, but is nothing short of "wow" when you enter the front door. We recently celebrated our birthdays together with his extended family, and they were all very impressed as well. I love a restaurant that isn't afraid to take chances with their menu. And anyone who can take wild game and make it a gourmet meal gets an "A" in my book. We will definitely be back!
10/4/2013 5:00:00 PM
We went for the Sunday brunch to celebrate two birthdays. The food was outstanding! We were disappointed, however, when the check arrived and we were charged $32 for orange juice!!! Unlimited champagne apparently did not include the oj for mimosas, but the waiter never mentioned this before hand. Not cool, coffee was included. We also were not given birthday observance like other tables.

Sunday Brunch to Die For
OMG!! The Sunday brunch is WONDERFUL!! My boyfriend and I love to try new places for brunch, and this is the best brunch we've experienced outside of Las Vegas and their "mega-buffets."
Manhatten Steak & Seafood offers an incredible assortment of foods...Alaskan King Crab (split open...no cracking needed), JUMBO shrimp already peeled and cleaned, oysters on the half shell, Sushi, lox, bagels, and cream cheese, carving station with prime rib and roast duck, made for you crepes, made for you omelets, chicken breast with a creamy lemon and caper sauce, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, and so much more. Desserts that were incredible, and ALL YOU CAN DRINK Champagne...for real. All for around $35 per person. Lastly a live jazz band, too.
10/12/2013 5:00:00 PM
This was a great find in Orange, CA. The selection of meat is outstanding. I thought the filet was delicious and was just as good as the Wagyu steak we also ordered.
10/15/2013 5:00:00 PM
Where's Woody Allen?
As we entered the restaurant I could hear a clarinet. It was like we were in Elaine's where Woody Allen played his clarinet. MHSS has this great 3 piece stylishly attired 40's ensemble and singer(quite good) on Tuesdays. We had dinner in the dining room with a great view into the bar. The menu offered so many choices it was hard to decide what to eat. We had the wedge and pear salads; the portions were huge. While the game selections(elk, bison, e t c) were enticing we went healthy with the ono and halibut. They were great-moist and sauced just right. We had dessert in the bar because the entertainment was too good to pass up. We shared the chocolate cake and the signature apple in pastry. Yummy. The bar is a showpiece.

Never fails to impress
Don't be fooled by Manhattan 's location or outward appearnace. This is a first-rate steak house that also does a remarkable job with seafood and several game entrees. The service is professional and attentive, the atmosphere realxed and comfortable and the bar (with frequent live music) is great for before or after dining. Solid wine list and numerous specialty cocktails (notably martinis), all of which have been top notch. Pricey yes, but worth it for an evening of great food, beverage, service and entertainment. Highly recommended.
10/25/2013 5:00:00 PM
May have been the best filet I have ever had. Staff was great as well.
10/28/2013 5:00:00 PM
Well worth the price
If you've always been curious about some unusual meats, this is the place to try them. My dinner began with their French Onion soup. For my tastes, it's the best I've had for a long time - not salty and with a rich broth that is perfect with the bread and melted cheese. Next came the game sampler platter with an elk chop, wild boar chop, bison filet and an ostrich filet, each with its own sauce. The elk was wonderfully tender and tasty, not at all gamey. The bison filet was very moist and flavorful, also quite tender. Their ostrich is also very good; the taste and texture is much closer to meat than it is to poultry. The wild boar was a bit dry, but the taste was there although still quite mild. All in all, a very good meal.

Could be fabulous
Overalll, my husband and I had an enjoyable experience.
The amuse bouche was dry, though. I know it's free, so I shouldn't complain, but the salmon mousse was dry, like they had piped it out 3 days ago and left it sitting in the fridge.
The lobster bisque barely had any lobster and was fairly pricey. I've had better bisques at Roys and McCormicks for less and received more lobster.
Our main entrees, the NY Steak and the Shrimp pasta were good.
They also gave us a free ice-cream bon bon, at the end for my husband's birthday, which was delicious!
Our server, Jesus, was very nice, but I wish he would have offered me an espresso to accompany our dessert, but he forgot to ask and by the time I remembered, most of our ice cream was gone.

Look Here for Exotic Foods
This place always provides a great experience, whether it be food, service, or ambiance. Our group tried ostrich for the first time - our server, Gina, suggested it be ordered medium rare. She was right - it tasted excellent and not gamey at all. Spacious restaurant for group gatherings or private events. This place has different room settings, an attractive bar, and live music sometimes.

This restaurant is a great
This restaurant is a great place to go for business lunches, friendship dates and relaxing atmosphere. The halibut was to die for. Presentation was spectacular - one could tell time was taken to do it just right. Service was not over bearing but took care of needs. Excellent!

Dining at Manhattan Steak & Seafood
The food is great and the service is attentive. I ordered the ribeye steak and was disappointed that the only side dish option was fingerling potatoes and two small baby carrots. This dinner screamed for a baked potato, and none was available. On the plus side are the pretzel rolls and the salads. Overall, a good experience.
