Magnificently Meaty: Beers to Match
Belgian style food done well and supported by a truly magnificent beer list. A definite orientation to the meaty end of things (and none the worse for that) and the place even has it's own butcher's shop on the premises that is worth checking out. Lots of good nose to tail stuff here but veggies and fish-eaters still find themselves very well looked after. And those beers.... :-)

Finding Resto was great for
Finding Resto was great for the weekends when I don't want to have to trek 20 minutes to have decent brunch. With great food prices, drinks are a little on the high side, it has become a go to in the neighborhood. With something for everyone the eggs are particular favorites, whatever style you prefer them cooked. And the grilled cheese with cheddar, gruyere, bacon and pork belly is the answer to every hungover partiers dreams. Service is fast, and efficient with reservations definitely being the way to go especially for Sunday brunch.

Food was strange at first
Food was strange at first but so glad we went - amazing preparation and flavor - their chef

A great dinner evening
Excellent food and great draft beer! Best deviled eggs in the world. Amazing dry aged steaks. You still can get the burgers if you ask - still as good as ever. Bring back the lamb ribs!

Had a delicious meal paired
Had a delicious meal paired with excellent wines and beers from Resto's name, Cannibal. We had the shoulder of lamb and it fell off the bone - so tasty! Would definitely go back to this place.

The food was very tasty, but most of the courses were too salty.

Protein lovers paradise
Pork belly in a grilled cheese, fried deviled egg and great wine make for a great client lunch ... On a sunny day sit at the large table by the window and you will never want to leave

Foo was delicious!
The best burger i have ever eaten in my entire life! Can't wait to go back.

Noisy But Tasty
I don't think they teach acoustics in restaurant school. They had the music up loud so everyone tried to talk over it. Once a song finished, the noise level would drop to a comfortable level. As soon as the next song started, the process would repeat. The humor of that was that is was bad 80's music (REO Speedwagon's "'m gonna keep on lovin you" at full volume, Jefferson Starship "We built this city" - yuck!).
The restaurant is all hard surfaces so the sound just bounces everywhere (reverb). They made an attempt with wall panels, but it isn't enough. It's brunch. People are there to talk. Too much noise will drive them away. So will bad music, btw.
The food is very good. They need to fix the sound problem.

As good today as when it first opened and one of our favorite places for weekend brunch. Resto reminds of us of everything that great about European dining. On the weekends, don't miss the baked eggs, hangover pasta or the frites, three of our all-time favorites!

Delicious variety and great beer!
This place knows how to cook (and present) a steak.
The fiancé and I sprung for the cote de bouef. A risky move for a 1st visit, but we were not disappointed. Served on a thick wooden carving board with a freshly roasted head of garlic and spring of thyme, it was just about one of the best steaks I've ever had. The steak was the hero.
We also tried the deviled eggs (very tasty, but the "toast" is quite rich), the arctic char belly tartar (a special, which was deliciously sea-salty) and the fried artichokes (which were fried very crispy with a delicious dip). No complaints.
And then there's the nearly unreasonable beverage options... if you like craft beer, the list is prodigious.

Can't wait to go back
We arrived looking for snacks and/or a light dinner before a wine tasting that we were headed to. We started off at Cannibal (attached to Resto), where I had a great "orange" wine that I've never had before (Salinia 25 Reasons), and my husband and brother enjoyed one of their many beers. Once inside Resto, we tried the charred octopus salad, the deviled eggs on pork toast, and the wonderful frites. My husband & brother both loved the tete de cochon (pig's head) po'boy as well. The decor is warm and inviting. The service was attentive, and the wine list is very good. If you like good food, wine, and an extensive beer list, this is for you! We'll definitely be back.

What beer list
We had a great meal in Resto, the food was well presented and tasty, but most impressive of all was their list of beers. It was a bit daunting, but the waiter was very knowledgable and helped us pick one that went perfectly with our food. Very enjoyable.

One of my favs
I just love Resto. Every time I am in NYC I always make a point to go there. I love the Belgian beer selection too. The food is always excellent and service is good too. Great place.

Since Resto first opened I have come here 3 to 4 times a year for lunches and dinners. It's always good. This is truly a neighborhood gem in an area where restaurants come and go. Loosely gastropub faire. The seasonal salads are always good. Hanger steak and modules frites are staples. For lunch my favorite has always been the hangover pasta. Extensive beer and wine lists.

Great spot, a little bit pricey
Went their for dinner with my wife. We weren't sure what to expect but everything was great.
We shared one fixed menu with a watermelon gezpacho, steak and basil-panacota, and the pork schnitzel. The gezpacho was very interesting, but the steak and the basil panacota were absolutely perfect. We added fries to the order since we felt we needed a bit more. We had the tempranillo by the glass which was also good, didn't try any of their beers, we'll try those next time.
Overall great spot.. Prices were a little high for us, but the food was very good. This place is definately worth a visit.

Everything in resto is great, except for the lighting. When we walked in the room was very dim which does make reading the menu a bit difficult. That aside, food was great as was the service. Definitely go there if you have a bit of extra cash.

Good brunch, good vibe, good servic
wanted a hip, place with good/interesting for brunch in the Park Ave So. area and Resto was great.
Food was good (meats and sausages from butcher next door) and service very nice and friendly. Loved the look and will go back to check out dinner outside in the little courtyard.

I've been here twice and had amazing food and service both times. I came back specifically for the Resto Burger and it did not disappoint! Definitely a must try for any burger lover.

great beer and wine selection!
Resto was a qaint place off the beaten path in curry hill. The place was cute, the beer and wine selection was pretty awesome. The food was a little hit or miss. I had the spicy watermelon gazpacho - delicious. Then I split my entree with my friend and she with me...so we both had a helping of the hanger steak (cooked to perfection - rare) but under seasoned. The blue cheese dressing was a bit overpowering. We also shared the fluke...which was overcooked and a bit dry. It too was underseasoned...and laying on top of 6 small circles of squash. I was still hungry, so I ordered the deviled egg. The taste was amazing...it was on "pork toast" think shirmp toast, but it was SUPER GREASY. For dessert, I had the lemon tart. Delicious.

Holy Belgian hangover
Great food, great ambiance. If i had to nitpick I would say tables are a little too close for comfort

I always love going to Resto for Brunch on Sundays. Their Breakfast options and Lunch options are great. I always get the French Toast when I'm in a sweet breakfast mood, but I usually default to the Hangover Pasta on a regular basis since it can't be found anywhere else. This last time that we went, my husband decided he was in a burger mood. The burger was amazing, and super tender. Anything that you order at Resto, you will love!
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everything is fresh and the menu/specialties are always changing.
9/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
great front table
Was so nice to get arrive a bit early and be given a table sitting smack in the middle of front windows with potted plants to provide ambiance on a beautiful fall feeling morning. I mentioned we have a child and made dining so enjoyable not to have to worry about my son bothering everyone else's brunch. By the time we left the place was packed, it was a bit of stroller central actually, not sure if that is normal?

Great food and atmosphere
We came here for my friend's birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed everything that we ordered. We'll definitely be back!

Great Food, Great experience
The food was amazing, the service was great and the restaurant was vibrant late into the night. This was my second time eating at Resto and would highly recommend. The only caveat is that the restaurant is *very loud.*
10/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Got the duck fat poached lamb shoulder and it was amazing.

Great Lunch Spot
I took some colleagues and clients to a new spot and took a chance on Resto. It didn't disappoint. The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Great brunch! Crispy french
Great brunch! Crispy french toast is amazing. The belgian hangover pasta is great too. Looking forward to going again.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Had a great brunch here. Went with a group of 6 and had fabulous drinks and food. The only problem was that the food took a while. This being said, they kept checking in on us and making sure we were okay. They then wiped all of the food off of the check because of the wait. Once the food arrived it was excellent. Great food, great service. Will totally go back again.

Resto serves a a great brunch!
I've been to Resto twice now, only for brunch, and both times with a group of 8 people.
The Bloody Marys are exotic and excellent. The food is delicious - very home style, comfort-type food. Gotta go for the hangover pasta!
The service is extremely welcoming, particularly given that I was with a group both times. The second time I was with parents, boyfriend's parents and family members - everyone really enjoyed the experience.
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Deviled eggs off the charts, brussel sprout salad delicious, and pork shank could have fed an army! Loved it.

Great Overall experience
One of the wonderful details that I really enjoyed was discovering the hard boiled eggs at the bar for patrons. This may be old news for some serious foodies out there, but this was the first time I've seen it and it was amazing.
The only issue I had was being seated in the back, I was right next to the doorway which was open to the adjacent establishment. In the beginning it was a little annoying because it was louder and colder. Eventually the noise within the two spaces balanced out so it wasn't a big deal.

Gastronomy at it's BEST!
Recently, a few friends and I had the pleasure of dining here for dinner and it was amazing. Our group decided to share several dishes including the short ribs, beet salad, frites and cauliflower special. The foo was expertly prepared and presented. This is where I must point out that the staff was attentive throughout the meal. We even lingered after the meal to finish our conversation and we didn't feel at any time that the staff was trying to kick us out to re-sear. This was an all-around great meal and I would not hesitate to go again or recommend to others!! Please check it out for yourself!

Amazing food and service
This was our 2nd time here and we kept asking ourselves why it was only 2x...have to come back for the pig to tail dinner and won't wait so long to come back.
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
couldn't wait to return!
We'd been here last year, and couldn't wait to return, especially for the deviled eggs (that are nothing like your grandmother's deviled eggs!) This year, we also enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich and burger topped with an egg. Excellent food and service, romantic setting. See you next year when we're back in NYC!
