Good service and great food
Good service and great food Just what is expected in New Orleans

Always like the food there
Always like the food there but the service is always a little off. The servers seem to try and show they are a bit above you. On Sunday the server didn't bring the usual bread basket served at brunch. The water wasn't refreshed except when it was obvious the glass was bone dry. The food is always good to excellent.

Not Pretentious in the Least
This was our first time there, and we didnt have any recommendations before going. We experienced wonderful food, service and ambiance. We will be back!

Every positive review that you've seen about this restaurant is in fact accurate. It is delicious. Locally sourced food, delectably made. You'll roll out of the restaurant with a happy and full belly.
The olive oil cake dessert is wonderful. Do NOT pass it up.

Anything but pat
Patois is a special restaurant with incredible food and we were completely happy with our food. Our only complaint was that the dessert menu didn't include flour-less chocolate cake cause we love that so much. All our fish dishes were superb, vegies were grilled to perfection and the recommended wine was delicious. Amen!!!

The food and service was amazing!
The food and service was amazing! If the candied pork belly is on the menu it is a must! So good! The wine selection has a good range. You can find something really tasty for a decent price. Although the hostess was wearing the loudest shoes ever that reminded me of her every move like a cowbell, the scene is quite calm and serene. Our server was very knowledgable and polite! I will make it a definite point to return soon... And may see what the hostess is wearing for foot apparel first ;)

We were a party of four celebrating our May birthday's. Our server, Camille, was wonderful. She was very attentive and when we told her about our celebration she allowed us to take our time enjoying our cocktails and appetizers before we ordered our entrée. We were there for three hours, we never felt rushed. The food was fabulous and the olive oil cake a must. It was delish!!!!

One of my favorites
New Orleans has soooo many wonderful restaurants. Many of them are found on neighborhood corners as is Patois . It is a little out of the way for the tourist but well worth the ride from downtown. If character and ambience and great food is what you want , this is it.
6/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
We went there for brunch on Father's Day. While the entrees were pretty good, the star of the meal was undoubtedly their appetizers - both the lamb ribs and the short rib cheese fries were to die for!!!
6/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is a very special ambience is romantic relatively quiet. He waitstaff Are kind professional and inviting. The owners are always present and visible. This is the third year that my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant. They always do an outstanding job and the food is delicious. Scallops cooked perfectly my favorite is the flank steak. Highly recommend the muscles appetizer. I would highly recommend this neighborhood gem of a restaurant. We have never been disappointed!

One of the best
Uptown NOLA best restaurants: Patois and Lilette. Ambience, food, service: these exceed all others besides Commander's, which is in a league of its own. We had our preferred table near the door at Patois (Thanks Open Table!) and a lovely server, Camille who made the experience what we needed for our first night in NOLA (Patois is almost always our first night go-to place). Camille consulted with the woman at the front of the house, who recalled mixology treats from our past visits and was able to convince the current mixologist to create the most delicious of cocktails- the Watermelon Drop- made from local watermelon in season- delicious. Patois should be a top destination of foodies visiting NO.

Patois is a neighborhood gem! The food was great (albeit a bit expensive). All the baked goods brought to the table (blueberry scone, banana bread and a croissant) were amazing. The service was excellent and it was very quiet (although we were the first customers for brunch on Sunday). We would definitely go again but with their pricing it won't be every week.

I enjoyed everything my friend
I enjoyed everything my friend and I ordered and shared, we ordered all appetizers so we could try a variety of things, and everything was excellent. We even had one plate (the lamb ribs) that we weren't able to finish, because we ordered so much. Our waitress was wonderful, very helpful and knowledgable about the menu items available. Will definitely come back!

Never let's me down
I found Patois one night when I could not get into Clancy's. They had just opened. I thought Patois just got lucky that night. So I went back another time and they got lucky again. They are consistent all these years. Still getting lucky every time.
I was raised uptown, played in Audubon park, went to HNJ grammar school, etc. Patois is in the hood. That's another reason I like the place. It has great food, reminds me of my mischievous childhood, and makes me feel like I found the place on my own. I didn't but I can tell some good stories!

My first time at patois, brought
My first time at patois, brought my parents and wife, all intelegent dinets. My wife and I are both chefs and by default my parents have become enlightened diners. We loved everything we ate from the porkbelly and sweetbreads apps to the crispy chixskin rabbit and the fish special. Service was good but not overwhelmingly memorable, cocktails and wine also very good, tables are a little small at times. We will return. The food was on point.

Great as always
Aaron Burgau and leon Touzet do a masterful job. Close attention to service and food is always creative and different.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had two of the most delicious appetizers I've had in a very long time . The food is inventive and tasty without being contrived or odd in any way. There are many small plates to choose from which is important to me and those of us who had a large plate, raved about the food. The wait staff was attentive and very nice. The only problem was that the room was a little on the noisy side.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was execllent and our server was attentive and knowlegeable! The only negative was being seated by the entrance to the rest rooms and the waiters computer a litte noisy.
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Patois is one of the best eateries in NOLA hands down.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent all the way around.
Excellent all the way around. Service was outstanding.

Quaint, charming restaurant
Quaint, charming restaurant uptown in an old house. Glad that our cabbie new where it was. Great menu choices of selections you don't find every day. Mississippi rabbit stuffed with boudin was excellent. Patois will be on our radar next time in New Orleans.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
nice relaex dinner for foodies
the dishes were delicious and the ambiance was perfect for a more relaxed dinner. a fairly quiet atmosphere w delicious grub. we chowed on four appetizers (definitely try the pork, lamb ribs and sweetbreads, in that order) and split the rabbit. a great decision.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Beautifully presented and well thought out plates makes for a perfect dining experience. I highly recommend The Contessa (a champagne and ginger cocktail). Our waitress, Camille, was extremely knowledgable about the menu and gave great recommendations for wine pairings. My husband had the rabbit (incredible) and I had the duck (out of this world).
Seating was comfortable and quaint but not too close that we felt intruded on my fellow diners.
Go. You won't be disappointed.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Three words: Fried Chicken Biscuit (with Melted Brie, Bacon, & a Fig Compote of course). Pair that with champagne on a Sunday morning. Who could ask for anything more?!!
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Patois is a consistent purveryor of exceptional dishes. The servce is attentive without being overly so, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. A great neighborhood restaurant with excellent food!
9/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
They know what they are doing....
Our meal was great!! We knew it was worth the trip to this restaurant when we put the first fork full of food in our mouths!! In an area that promotes a "neighborhood gem". Glad we did our research and went to this one! You MUST venture out to Patois. They know what they are doing!! Thanks for a wonderful meal!!

Don't skip dessert
Don't skip dessert. Peanut butter cup has that salty-sweet contrast plus Guiness ice cream with a slightly bitter sensation. All flavors combined are balanced.
Portions are on the small side which is great for tasting lots of things.
The waiter did not bring bread but was attentive. I overheard he also almost forgot to bring back the next table's take-home box.
10/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fabulous, innovative food
Fabulous, innovative food without trying too hard. A great dinner...Will go back again and again.
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great for client dinners
My wife and I took a very important client and his wife to dinner there and could not have been more pleased with the entire experience! Everything was perfect. We will do that again!
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food saves the day
The atmosphere when busy is loud that takes away from a special experience.
Some soft surfaces could help. We felt a bit rushed in our experience as the tables neared capacity.
This was our second visit and it seems to have become more casual.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
We recently went back to Patois after eating there two years ago on vacation. It was exactly as expected which says a lot as our expectations were high. We both had the rabbit which was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. I would highly recommend Patois.

Delicious Brunch at Patois
We had a wonderful brunch at Patios. The duck hash was wonderful, and the service was excellent. Great little place for brunch.
10/12/2013 5:00:00 PM
Went to Patois on a Thursday night. Booked through Open Table. Had a party of five. OT only showed an 8:30 time even though I had requested 7:00. So I took the 8:30. We arrived on time and there were only two or three occupied tables. They greeted us at the door and took us to the table for five set up at the back near the kitchen. We ordered drinks and appetizers and entrees and after dinner drinks. The food was really top notch. Everyone loved their dishes. We had a variety. All superior. The only negative was that by the end of the meal we were the last people in the entire restaurant and the waiters and kitchen staff were all coming to the register behind our table to clock out. So needless to say we felt compelled to leave.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had been to Patois for brunch before but this time I took my parents for dinner while they were visiting. The food was excellent and the service was great. We really enjoyed the pumpkin soup and the entrées!
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Patois is an always reliable, excellent choice for great food with attentive service. It's a typical uptown eatery, inside a converted storefront that offers an interesting new approach to traditional New Orleans dishes. It carries it off very well, as its popularity attests.

Introducing out-of-towners to NOLA
Took friends from Austin TX here for dinner. They were blown away by their meals: duck, shrimp with pasta, hanger steak. Everything was wonderful. Lost a star for a less than attentive waitress who by the end of the night was socializing with her friends at an outside table rather than serving us.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Definitely worth a trip
The pork belly is the best. The service was great and the presentation of all foods were excellent.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Ate at patois this past Saturday
Ate at patois this past Saturday night & it was off the charts delicious, fresh & enjoyable!!!
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
The meal was up to Patois' usual standards, excel for two issues. First, the gumbo came out luke warm, not hot, and the oysters weren't cooked - they were closer to raw. It still tasted good, but it was clear they had warmed the base and added the oysters at the end - they just hadn't allowed it to heat sufficiently. The second issue was the sometimes rather slow service. We were at a table by the kitchen, and the waiter seemed to abandon us for periods, probably because he had other obligations that kept him away (from the kitchen?). Anyway, Patois is still a reliable restaurant that services innovative and tasty dishes.

Favorite in NOLA
Patois is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Food was excellent. It was very noisey, however, and air conditioning was set too low the evening we were there. Would recommend highly.
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Top notch dining
This uptown house-turned-restaurant is charming. Gnocchi w/ jumbo lump crab meat, seasonal gumbo, freshly made brioche rolls and "snickers" dessert were unforgettable. Ambiance is warm and romantic.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
First Time: Generally loved it
My wife and I went for the first time to Patois this past Saturday night. I've always liked Clancy's, but I think I may just like Patois more. When the server said they had the best gumbo in the city, of course, I kind of rolled my eyes -- haven't we all heard that before. Well, imagine my surprise when the gumbo was fantastic. I had the Gnochi appetizer which sounds weird from the description on the menu, but it was also fantastic. My wife's gulf fish was quite tasty and the peanut butter cup for desert was excellent. My only disappointment (and the reason for four stars rather than five), was that the New York Strip had far too much gristle. We will definitely be going back.
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
Good for the Neighborhood
Dinner for four. We all enjoyed our food and service. Some dishes were very good and some good. It was a very pleasant place to talk and eat for 2 couples.
11/12/2013 4:00:00 PM
I brought my fiance here for his birthday...and we were ABSOLUTELY impressed!!!!! It was so romantic and a fancy atmosphere....it looked like we were inside an uptown home. The food was delicious. Definitely try the "snickers" desert....amazing.
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
Excellent food, wonderful service
The food was excellent. Especially the almond crusted fish and the crab and squash bisque.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Are family enjoy the nice New Orleans neighborhood the historic style restaurant as well as the food was delicious and Service was very good as well it is on our list for special occasions and, when we want to show off New Orleans cuisine to those who come in town.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Nice location. Great food
Nice location. Great food and presentation. Really a good neighborhood spot and easy to get to. "Get away from the large downtown places to a good small intimate restaurant.

Brunch at Patois
One of my favorite restaurants. Have been here before and I would recommend it. Great ambiance, very good service and very popular neighborhood restaurant. The shrimp and grits is excellent as are their drinks. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone including eggs if you so choose. Parking is on the street and can sometimes be challenging.
11/23/2013 4:00:00 PM
We have eaten here many times. The foodis always excallent. Loved the charcuterie platter. Husband had rabbit stuffed with boudin and wrapped in crispy chicken skin, which was fantastic!
11/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
Food and service were outstanding. The Gulf fish (Flounder) was absolutely the best I have ever had. Service was impeccable.
We will definitely return the next time in New Orleans.
