Consistently excellent. Outstanding service and food. Get the chef's tasting if you have the time.

We arrived for an early dinner (6:30) when the restaurant was just starting to perk up. The menu is exceptionally creative (creative cajun) and each dish was prepared with detailed care. We had four appetizers because we did not want to pass up any of them (green salad, the squash blossoms with crab filling, BBQ lobster (fabulous), and the 'white asparagus soup' with scallop and prosciutto). Would definitely go back, and back. The bar has a great ambience and a similar but shorter bar menu. Our server did not heed our request to bring the apps one at a time so we could savor each one, instead showed up with all four at once. The staff were kind to take all but the first one back and in the end was a very leisurely dinner.

An outstanding meal
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The food was delicious, seasoned perfectly, and served promptly. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely return soon.

Spring Tasting... WOW!
My wife and I found ourselves in NO after a stay at a 5 star resort in Cancun and were looking keep riding the gourmet wave we had been on for the past week. After a few other choices in the neighborhood we were staying in we choose MiLa because of the spring tasting menu,(we love eating at places with these). All I can say is we were very impressed. We were 45 minutes early but seated right away. We were met by our server promptly and the gourmet overload was on! From the first bite of the smoked redfish to the chocolate peanut butter tart MiLa kept us smiling and wanting more. The white asparagus soup with scallops was amazing! By far the best thing I have eaten in months! Treat yourself here. It is worth every penny.

Do the tasting menu!
My husband and I have now done the MiLa seasonal tasting menu twice, and both times it has been superb. Go hungry, it is a lot of food :) And we couldn't handle the wine pairings with food (way too much wine for us) the first time around so this time we just got a la carte drinks as we wanted them. AMAZING food from start to finish, and each dish is portioned so you can really enjoy it despite starting to feel pretty satisfied by the 4th course.
Some highlights...smoked redfish salad, roasted cauliflower soup with scallops and croutons and a little truffle (last time the soup was turnip and also simply amazing), delicately seasoned swordfish which made me realize I actually like swordfish :)

Where are the crowds?
Having eaten here a number of times, I can say that the menu is ever changing to reflect local seasonal foods. As good as this is, it should be loaded with customers. It's one of the best!

MiLa for anniversary
My wife and I went to MiLa for the first time in May for an anniversary dinner. We decided to go all out and try everything we could. The staff first brought us a sample sushimi tuna appetizer to try. Very good! Then we had the barbeque lobster for a full appetizer that was amazing! For our main course, I had the Crispy Baby French Chicken and my wife had the Blackened Wild Striped Bass. Both were incredible and we enjoyed tasting each other's meals. The chef even made us a special anniversary desert with "happy anniversary" written in chocolate on the plate! Everything about our first dinner at MiLa was phenomenal - the service, the ambience, the taste, texture, and presentation were all exquisite! We will be back!

Off the well traveled path
This was our second visit to MiLa, a terrific restaurant in the Business District. The food is superb: creative, locally sourced, beautifully presented. Our first visit, several years ago, was during a large convention, and the place was packed. This time, it was too quiet for a Friday night, and our server acknowledged that we were her only table that evening. We walked there on nearly empty streets.
After dinner, we strolled to the French Quarter, which was as the usual crowd scene. This area is certainly fun, but MiLa beats many of the French Quarter restaurants by a mile.
6/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
We topped off the great meal with a chocolate martini and a chocolate dessert. We left MiLa happy, happy, happy!
6/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Food was excellent. The Louisiana BBQ lobster was historic. My colleague asked the kitchen to prepare a veggie dish and he was blown away by the freshness and flavor.

Mila's is my favorite restaurant and as a native New Orleanian that's saying a lot. Their food is the best in the city, everything has fantastic clear flavors and the food is always perfectly cooked. The soup is always sublime even when made from vegetables I normally dislike. The entrees, especially the fish, always make you slow down and savor what you are putting in your mouth because doing anything else is just unthinkable. The Root beer float deconstructed always leaves you wanting more even when you are stuffed to the gills. If you aren't sure where to eat and are wanting miraculously tasty food, go to Mila's. You will not regret it.

While Mila a little too nice
While Mila a little too nice for one yr old we took our grandson. Chef made special and delectable meal just for him. Super service and great food.

This is a great restaurant.
This is a great restaurant. Had the smoked red fish salad and the duck. Both were superb. My wife orders the chicken dish most times and really enjoys.
6/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everything was excellent
We heard good things about this restaurant and were not disappointed. From the corn bread at the start of the meal to the dessert it was all excellent and exceeded expectations.
The portions aren't large but we left full.

MiLa among the best in NOLA
The food is expertly prepared, beautifully presented in a sleek modern setting. My cauliflower soup ranked with Susan Spicer's roasted garlic soup and Daniel Bonnot's vegetable soups in the old Louis XVI. The only mild negative was a lack of patrons that night. Not the restaurant's fault--this was a mid-week mid-summer night. MiLa is truly a 5-star restaurant with convenient valet garage parking that is validated.
6/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Creative and fresh ingredients make this a favorite of mine. Started with the creamy cauliflower soup with small chunks of grilled scallop. Sounds a bit bland, but it was absolutely divine. Also had the striped seabass and an amazing dessert of rootbeer sorbet sitting atop a crusted creamy flan-type of ice cream.
In a city of so many top restaurant choices, Mila is a standout.

A night to remember!
MiLa was an absolute delight! Every dish was prepared to perfection. The squash blossoms filled with goat cheese, the cauliflower and scallop soup, the pork tenderloin and pork belly with blood-orange marmalade, and the home-made yogurt with fresh blueberries were ALL prepared to perfection. The taste , presentation, and creativity of each dish was superior! The chef even visited our table to personally welcome us and make sure our dining experience was to the upmost of our satisfaction! We will be back!
7/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
This weekend we visited MiLa for the third time, and it was just as great as always! The food is wonderful, and the staff is always firendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back!
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
It was a Wednesday night so I'm guessing that's why it was low key. I had the seared tuna. I hate black eyed peas but this worked. My buddies had the lamb and another fish dish. They were equally satisfied.
7/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
delicious change of pace
Intimate surroundings, menu more NYC than NOLA, delicious food and impeccable service.
Very quiet, romantic, yet suitable for business and larger groups.

Great Meal and Quiet
We had a great, very tasty dinner at MiLa. It was very quiet, and we had great service. Thanks for the pleasant evening!
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had the Crabmeat Benedict which was a delicious twist to the traditional. The buttermilk pancakes were as good as we have ever had.
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was our first time and MiLa and we were impressed. We selected the restaurant because the location was within walking distance of our hotel. Sweetbreads appetizer was delicious! We enjoyed the sea bass entree and the scallop entree. We would recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant in NOL!! Try it! You won't be disappointed!!
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
MiLa is beautifully decorated,
MiLa is beautifully decorated, quiet, and the food is very good. My wife had the seared tuna and I had the "tea infused duck". The tuna won (the duck was a little on the tough side). The sweet bread appetizer was supurb, and the service was excellent, attentive, but not too much. We were seated exactly on time, and the layout of the restaurant makes it perfect for an intimate dinner for two.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food, staff, drinks, everything excellent! We always love everything we eat in NOLA - the food level starts at good and goes up. MiLa was superb - not just by NOLA standards but by all. Every dish was right on the mark - and it all went so well together. Sauces and condiments were spot on. Yes, Yes you do want a double cut pork chop with bacon jam. Absolutely have the root beer float dessert
Service was pleasant and low key. We will be back.

Delicious, sweet, & accommodating
I am a vegetarian & w limited vegetarian options on the menu, Mila easily made accommodations
Brought out the 2 people I was w a little appetizer involving beef & made a special one for me! (Feta cheese rolled up in zucchini with a delicious sauce)Such sweet gesture and they had no problem making it vegetarian for me
Sweet potato rolls & cornbread w their special lima bean puree (you must try!!! its so good!).
Entree: they prepared a special vegetarian dish, not on the menu. It had lots of delicious/fresh tasting veggies (carrots, mushrooms & lots more but I can't remember) on a bed of couscous surrounded by this broccoli puree which was SO SO good!
Dessert: choco&pb tart w choco sorbet-AMAZING
People I was w LOVED their meals too!

i ended up having both breakfast and lunch there and both were quite tasty. No reason to leave the hotel to dine!

Some of the best in NOLA
Went for a business lunch. Cauliflower soup, grilled shrimp salad and banana pudding creme brûlée. All outstanding.

Fun and enjoyably quirky
Mila is great downtown New Orleans restaurant. The atmosphere was a very romantic and relaxing space. We were seated at a cozy booth and brought a couple glasses of complimentary champagne. Maybe this is standard, maybe they knew we were on a special night (I did not ask). The bar tender whipped up several quality cocktails throughout dinner. The food was delicious and presentation was quite beautiful. It had a unique feel of a quality neighborhood New Orleans restaurant. I say that since the staff really gave us friendly service. We felt like we had been there enough to where the staff made us feel very much at home. We had a big night that night and it was all kicked off with Mila!

Awesome New American Southern Style
Don't miss the sweetbreads and grits, their signature BBQ lobster and the Root Beer Float dessert!
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Always a treat
I've been following this wife and husband team for years, and I've never been disappointed in their two restaurants. MILA is one of the top restaurants in New Orleans. My only disappointment this time was that Deconstructed Oysters is no longer on the menu. I always rave about this dish to my guests...the oysters are absolutely the freshest I've ever tasted, and I don't even like raw oysters that much. Every single dish is superb, but I highly recommend all of the small plate appetizers.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
really great food - I'm not sure I've had a better meal anytime lately.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great meal 10.18.13
This restaurant is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. The New Orleans barbecue lobster and the chicken in lobster sause as so awesome.

Excellent Pre-Theatre Dinner
My friend and I were going to the Saenger Theatre for a show and went to MiLa for dinner beforehand. It was wonderful. The food and service were superb...recommend the sweetbreads appetizer and the lobster appetizer. Also, the baby chicken entree. The only criticism is that, like many high end restaurants, they don't put salt and pepper shakers on the table. I guess they don't want anyone to fool with the chef's creation, thinking that the chef's palate is perfect. The tuna, while a lovely piece of fish, cooked to perfection, could have used a little bit of salt. The field peas that came with it were a tad too al dente for my taste, but the flavor was very good. All in all, highly recommended.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very good food. I'll definitely visit again. BBQ lobster was delicious. Tuna was plate licking good.
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food and service were great.
Food and service were great. Nice twists on some dishes. Definitely will go back.

Excellent food, and good service.
Excellent food, and good service. I would go back.
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Living in a city with a lot of great food it is always nice to find a place not drenched in traditional food for tourists. The seasonal menu is fabulous and the service was superb!!!!! Taking foodie friends from other cities is great fun. Well Done!!!!
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Food, phenomenal! The married Chef duo are incredibly gifted at delivering a large bang of flavor into very small bite! The only complaint was the loud mouth across from our table! The surprise dessert at the end of our romantic meal was the perfect touch! And the service was never intrusive I recommend this establishment for any diner that enjoys incredibly flavorful cuisine and excellent atmosphere!
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM

Great food, great service! Will highly recommend it to friends

Excellent food and service.
Excellent food and service. Upscale dining without any pretense. The waitstaff, including food runners, were wonderful.
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
What a lucky find. We had the most wonderful experience at MiLa. It is obvious the great care and thoughtfulness that has been put into every aspect of this restaurant. Our food was prepared to perfection, the layers of flavors lingering and coming together with each delectable bite. Order the sweetbreads. Ooh my goodness! We ordered the duck as our entree-again, score! And it was an ample portion of breast and leg that even the two of us could not finish. And last, try the " root beer float" for dessert. What fun and surprise. This is a place you do not want to miss.
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
A delightful experience
Mila's is a standout in a city of culinary giants. The menu was imaginative, expertly prepared, delicious and delivered with excellent service.
Next time we are in New Orleans, it will be our first stop for dinner.
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
Chose this restaurant because of the name && boy did I luck out ! BEST meal to date ! (in NOLA that says a lot) to start the bread was perfect ! Great flavor & add the butter pairing ..mmmmm... the BBQ lobster was AMAZING..followed by the rich duck plate ! My boyfriend ordered the chicken, plated with a crawfish lobster sauce..YUM.. And had to complete with the banana pudding brûlée !!!
11/18/2013 4:00:00 PM

A very special birthday
My wife and I visited Mila for my birthday. The food was fantastic. My wife is a duck conoseur and really loved the duck at Mila. Everything we had was spot on and the service was impeccable. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. He say and talked with us about our preferences in food and helped guide us through the menu. Mila was a wonderful experience that we will most definitely repeat.
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
Give this one a try
Everything we ordered was a hit! Not a cheap restaurant but well worth the price!
11/25/2013 4:00:00 PM
Dinner was delicious! Times
Dinner was delicious! Times offered on Open Table weren't the best....6:00 or 7:45 but there was definite availability when we got to the restaurant.
11/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
MiLa was amazing! Traditional southern food with an upscale, gourmet twist. The butternut squash bisque was like velvet; the beet salad with cherry was perfectly balanced; sweetbreads over smooth, creamy grits and a sweet-smoky barbecue sauce; crisp-skinned duck and even crispier chicken. All in all, just wonderful.
