Great meal from start to finish. Would highly recommend! Loved the drinks, ravioli was the best. Toffee puddings was the perfect finish.

Great food & ambience
Best food in the area, ambience too. Excellent service.

Learned from a master
Tony (owner/chef) did a special demonstration, showing guests how he made the food we were having as part of our fixed price menu. The food was great as usual, and Tony was terrific as a teacher...the night was full of questions and answers.

Rose topped off the dinner with her infectious laugh. She was wonderful with her food recommendations! Ask for her!

One of Salem's Best
Nice ambiance and a quiet table to start. Our group of 5 could talk without shouting,
The food was excellent. The Salmon was cooked to perfection and the calamari appetizer was teriffic.
Would definitely go back.

We started off with the ricotta crostini - it was so creamy and delicious! Then we split the appetizer size of the mushroom raviolis. Anything with truffles is always a definite order! Delicious! Then I had the duck and my friend had the scallops. Both were amazing. We enjoyed our meal with the chianti by the glass, great choice. For dessert she had the donuts with nutella and she said they were amazing and I had the 20 year tawny port wine. Overall the experience was amazing and our waitress was fabulous!

Tell Your Friends!!
Booked 62 on a Sunday night for our anniversary dinner. Did not stop at the bar, it looked small. The space is small compared to the other restaurants in the area (which are too big for their own good) I like how the space was used, plenty of seating and you're not on top of each other. My husband and I are just your average couple so I was a bit overwhelmed with the wine list but got excellent help from our server. We had caprese salad to start and it was (very smartly) portioned into individual bowls. My husband had pasta with duck for his entree (he loved it) and I had ravioli with mushrooms. Homemade pasta, the raviolis were as big as my hand(!!) big woody mushrooms, this entree was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Cannot wait to go back!

The best restaurant in Salem
Salem has more than 60 restaurants and 62 on the Wharf is the best of the lot, food-wise. Steve Betancourt's kitchen is a marvel and we have never been disappointed.

Fit for Foodies in Salem
What a terrific place. Agree with the people who say that 62 is every bit as good as its higher priced cousins in Boston. The food here is simply oustanding. We had an app (fried artichoke hearts), pasta (garganelli) and a striped bass special. The preparations were spot on, creative and importantly, not overly salty, which so many places can't seem to avoid. The decor is whimsical, yet comfortable. I would come back in an instant.

I travel a lot, and go to many upscale restaurants. I thought 62 was great. Our appetizers were delicious, and so were our entrees. It has a great menu.

What an incredible find.
The food, service and ambiance are outstanding. We started with a couple of appetizers (stuffed squash blossoms and fig/ricotta crostini) which set a good tone for the rest of the meal. The pasta dishes did not disappoint. My wife had the bolognese and I had the duck pasta. Both were very rich and full of meat. The bolognese was very well done and exceeded our high expectations for this Italian staple. I highly recommend the duck as it was braised with amazing flavors. The polenta was so creamy I had to wonder if they cooked the grain in heavy cream. Save room for dessert. The tiramisu was the best I have had in a restaurant and the bombolini needs just one word...WOW. This was foodie heaven.

One of my favorites!
Hadn't been for a while, but have been back 3 times in the last few months. Love the pasta and appetizers, great salad! And service has been great, both at the bar and table. Keep it up!

Best restaurant in Salem
My favorite restaurant in Salem. Chickpea fritters with date compote, to die for. Warm sticky toffee pudding, likewise. Great, interesting cocktails, wonderful pastas, warm relaxed atmosphere.

Great dining experience!!
Outstanding pasta selections and wonderful service.
Look forward to my next meal!

We'll be back!
Loved it! Apps- pork belly, sausage, black mission figs- all really tasty. Pasta dishes are served as half or full orders. We took our waitress Emily's advice and treated them like tapas. Duck, bolognese, tuna and Welfleet clams- everyone was worthy of a full portion.
The drinks were good and the award winning warm toffee pudding was incredible. Bombolini were good too. Emily was great, the atmosphere was cool, the food was delicious. We'll be back!

Food was good. Staff was very pleasant. The specials were excellent and the regular menu items were okay. If you're in town, worth a visit.

62 was a great experience. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. I look forward to returning.

Great food and wonderful service.
I have eaten at 62 Restaurant and Wine Bar several times a year since it opened. A great place to recognize special occasions, birthdays and anniversaries. I have never been disappointed. The food is without equal, gourmet without being pretentious, and the service is very attentive.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
We only had one small plate each, because we had a late lunch and were not very hungry. The food was very high quality and delicious. Next time we're in the area we'll try to bring bigger appetites.

Excellent food matched by service
My husband put this restaurant in his top 10. We dine out 2+ times per week, and this has been on our list to try. The food was excellent! The squash blossoms stuffed with crab was the best I've had and my pasta dish with duck was delicious. Stuffed as we were, the warm toffee pudding had been recommended- we left very little of the one we split. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Ingrid, our wait person, set a high standard for knowledge of the food, wine, and genuine enthusiasm. She helped to set the tone for a great evening.

Delicious small plates
The restaurant was very pretty and quiet, a big plus. We ordered 4 appetizers to share, and had no room for anything else but a shared delicious toffee pudding. We are not big eaters, so others might not find 4 appetizers enough. Each dish had a incredible flavor. We had lamb sausage, fig and ricotta bruschetta, a calamari special, and nasturtium Flores ith ricotta. The nasturtium flowers were deep-fried and a bit too oily, but overall the food was wonderful. Go and enjoy.

Such a nice addition to the
Such a nice addition to the North Shore. I went on a week night with a friend for her birthday. We were seated promptly. Our drink order was taken after we had a minute to look over the drink list. It then took a bit of time for our waiter to take our dinner selections. (Maybe 10-15 min.) Everything else was perfect- the food, our drinks, and oh my, the chocolate cake dessert. It is too bad their beautiful windows in the large dining room don't oversee the water around the corner or else it would be the perfect dining experience.

Wine Tasting Night Out
Had a great selection of red wines with small plates of amazing food highlighting the wine. Will definitely plan to attend the next one.
9/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice service and plate sizes are decently sized (not too small nor large). I would go back to try other dishes.

Great spot with upscale vibe
Great spot with upscale vibe but still has warm atmosphere. Friendly knowledgeable wait staff. Interesting apps lamb sausage and roasted beet salad were wonderful fish entrees fresh salmon and cod. Understated signage makes restaurant it easy to miss but definitely worth the hunt !

Delay in seating
While I realize that it's sometimes difficult for restaurants to balance timing of reservations, we were kept waiting and not seated until 50 minutes beyond our reservation time. Unfortunately, bar seating is limited and there was little room to stand without being in the way of servers carrying food out from the kitchen. The hostess did bring four glasses of champagne to us when we were finally seated. A nice gesture, though two people in our party had medication restrictions from drinking alcoholic beverages.
Other than that inconvenience, the food and wait service were excellent. Six stars to Eric, our server, who was very knowledgeable and attentive.

Don't know how they do it :)
Don't know how 62 Restaurant delivers every time. My husband and I come here randomly and every time the service is awesome and the food spectacular. To top this all off is phenomenal cocktails. This place is always a winner.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Found this restaurant on a ten day trip through New England. It was probably the BEST food we had on the whole trip. The small plates are portioned just right and expertly prepared! A nice variety with some unusual offerings. A nice little surprise in Salem Ma.
10/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
We always enjoy taking our friends to 62 for a fun evening. Saturday was no exception. Although Salem can be a hassle to find parking in October, and we try to avoid it during Halloween, the parking problem was more than offset by the dining. The drinks were expertly prepared, but did take a little longer than expected to arrive at our table. But, that was the only small complaint that evening. Our party ordered mostly from the small plates menu. The menu changes frequently, but there are some standard items that we have come to enjoy over the years of going there. The duck garganelli is a particular favorite of mine. Save space for dessert. There warm toffee pudding is a great way to finish.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
My husband and I went to 62 for our 1 year anniversary. The service was wonderful and the food was even better. The menu is set up to serve multiple courses, so each one is not very much food. We tried a total of 6 menu items and every one was more delicious than the last! Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

We went to 62 for dinner Sunday
We went to 62 for dinner Sunday night.
Amazing meal!!! This is now my husband's favorite restaurant.
We tried out two of the drink specials - the Snappy Apple which was quite nice and the autumn cocktail I think called a "pumpkin swirl" (the 62 stencil is in nutmeg) - just wonderful!
We had the zuccinni blossoms and a beet salad for first course.
Also tried two of the small plate pasta specials (one with pine nuts and cherries and the "handkerchief" pasta with olives and lamb) for the 2nd course. Also had the scallops on corn and wild mushrooms.
Finished with the toffee pudding (to die for) and the chocolate ganache cake with hazelnut gelato.
A truly memorable meal : )
Can't wait to go back!

Our waitress was great. I
Our waitress was great. I appreciated:
She initiated bringing a slice of birthday cake when she learned it was my girl friend's birthday.
We ordered too much food and when we said do not serve one of the entrees she and the chef cooperated and brought plates with just a taste of the duck entrée for each of us and wrapped the rest. It was delicious and thoughtful.

Delicious Food, Slow Service
We have eaten here on a couple of occasions. Food is delicious, wine list has great choices and the vibe is somewhere between energetic and quiet which is the sweet spot for either a couple or a party of for that want to eat in peace and be able to talk to each other but also not feel like they are the loudest ones in the restaurant. My only complaint was that the service was a little slow. We went in a Friday night at 8 p.m. but not all of the tables were full so it wasn't so hectic that we should have waited 15 to 20 min to put our drinks and appetizers order in. We also had to grab the hostess to ask for bread since we were so hungry and couldn't find out waiter - and the place isn't that large. Overall a good experience though.

Food was different and presentation
Food was different and presentation was great. It was our best dinner on our 6 day vacation
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Never made it to secondi
Everything was wonderful! We tried the polpetti, zucchini blossoms, arugula salad and raviolo al’uovo. The ravoli is prepared with a soft egg yolk inside that is perfectly cooked so that it oozes out and adds richness to all the favors. I know that's not everyone's thing, but the execution should be admired by all. Truffle is used with a gentle hand to not overwhelm the dish. Cocktail and wine list were solid and creative. The Bombolini (Nutella beignets) and Hazelnut ice cream for dessert were a great finish to the meal. Dishes were priced reasonably and good for sharing. Service was attentive and very helpful. Overall a great experience. Next time we might make it to the main courses. So many other things to try!

The 62 in Salem
Made our annual trip to Salem a wonderful experience!!

Great find! Wonderful food.
Excellent meals, we went two nights in a row. Pork belly app was awesome, as well as the pasta.

A Gem in Salem
Every dinner at 62 feels like a special occasion. The wait staff are charming and knowledgeable, the ambiance allows you to disappear for a short time and the menu inspires even the most discerning palate.
10/30/2013 5:00:00 PM
We found out about 62 on the internet. Had a great waiter (Eric) who was very attentive as were all of the waitstaff that helped him. We had 6 small plates - 3 pastas, an arugula salad, pizza and a beet dish. We were delighted by the quality and variety of the pastas. The pizza was amazing - the dough is a cross between pizza dough and phyllo. We shared a Toffee Pudding that was simply amazing! The entrees looked great but we wanted to try what ended up being "Italian Tapas". The wine list was great - enjoyed an Oregon Pino Gris. It was our first trip to Salem and to this restaurant. I would recommend it to a friend and plan to go back.

The Food Was Above My Expectations. Everything Was Good Especially The Warm Toffee Pudding! My Fiancée & I Went There For Restaurant Week & The Choice In Food Was Fabulous.
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Although it was restaurant week we decided to order from the menu. The food was very good. Appetizer were wonderful I would go to the bar and have appetizers some night. The service was a little slow especially for cocktails but it was very busy that night .Would definitely go back again.

Must try the toffee pudding
The risotto balls, and the warm toffee pudding were incredible!

Great food, great nice
Four of us went during the restaurant week special and we were all very please. The menu had a great number of choices and everyone went home happy. Highly recommend for special occasions and when they have specials

Great food, great service
We came here after seeing the OT reviews and were not disappointed. My date and I saw a lot on the menu that we liked and decided to split a few of the appetizers and the entree. The server brought each out plated separately which was great and we hadn't even requested that. The beet app was phenomenal. The handmade pasta dishes were equally delicious as was the cod entree and the brussel sprouts side. To top it off, the bomboli dessert was the perfect finale. Overall, the quality of the food was better than 95% of the Italian places in Boston. If you live in the north burbs like we do, give this place a shot versus driving into the North End (parking is 25 cents per hour!).

Great food and service
I went to 62 Restaurant on a whim with two friends during restaurant week. It was difficult getting a table at this place during this busy night, but the wait was totally worth it! The three course meal was portioned appropriately, with each bit more flavorful than the last. The menu is modern Italian and has something for everyone. Come here if you have a chance!
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
Takes Chances, Some Scores
The title is a bit of a sports analogy. The chef, Antonio Bettencourt, likes taking chances and coming yup with new combinations. This place is definitely for foodies, with a very good wine list. Not all the combinations work, and some need tweaking. When they do, it's great. Service was fantastic.
I recommend this place, but give it more than one chance to fully appreciate its strengths.
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
Excellent as usual
We love 62 and took advantage of restaurant week. We have been many times and have never had anything but exceptional service, creative delicious food and an overall wonderful experience.

62 is consistently good. I frequently return to the restaurant.
Usually servers are great - last experience had a bad server.

Our daughter was in from Portland
Our daughter was in from Portland Oregon and she is a foodie. She love the food and our waiter was great! I cannot remember his name but he was young and very funny. Extremely helpful guiding us with portion size as well.
Came in on Tuesday evening and sat by the window.
