Excellent steak in Franklin!
My wife and I dined here for our anniversary. I mentioned this in our Open Table reservation, and on check-in, the hostess wished us a happy anniversary and said she'd put aside a special table for us -- a table for two in the upstairs "loft" area, overlooking the bar and dining room. Our waiter was pleasant and very helpful with the menu, recommending the 21-day dry-aged NY Strip steak. Meat quality was excellent. Our only complaint was that they finished it in lemon-butter, rather than regular butter. And the lemon was a bit overbearing. Mac 'n' cheese with bacon and serrano was simply exquisite! Sauteed spinach was fresh and tasty but also suffered from too much lemon. Will order steak without lemon next time -- should be perfect then!

Great service and food
We had a wonderful dinner and a great waiter. Never felt rushed and was there close to 2 hours. We will be back!

Cork & Cow
The overall experience here was good. I would say, I liked the fact that the wine list had some good under $50.00 options. To many times I feel a little cheated by high retail mark ups on wines. The food and service are on par with what I expected when we rang up a 375.00 tab for two.

Excellence in Dining
If you want a dining experience that treats all senses, come to Cork & Cow.

F stands for Fabulous!
This was one of the best meals that I have enjoyed in awhile. And, my fellow diners all agreed. Fabulous menu and wine list. Five star service (Jennifer was our server). Grant is a personable manager and came by our table a few times to chat and check in on us. Very impressive!! On top of everything else that was great, it is quieter than some of the other nearby restaurants, making it excellent for groups.

Absolutly first class!
This was our first visit to Cork and Cow. It exceeded all of our expectations. Adam, the server was great. All of his recommendations were spot on. We will definitely be going back in the near future!

Best of Downtown Franklin
Cork & Cow is a wonderful restaurant in the heart of downtown Franklin. It's a little more expensive than most of the restaurants in the area, but it's completely worth it. The Filet is my favorite on the menu, but they usually have some great specials - including pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto on a cauliflower cake bed. Their Gnocchi side, made with parmesan truffle cream, is amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food.

Good. I had really high expectation
Good. I had really high expectations but the food did not live up to the cost.

Cheers! The salad and bone in filet hit the spot. Service was lovely.

steak place, but inventive menu.
all four of us had something different, and we all loved our meals.

It was my first time going
It was my first time going to Cork and Cow. We got there at 5:55pm and was informed that happy hours was over in 4 minutes. We went and the bartender made last call for happy hour prices. The bread was great and the burger and fries were enough for two. The service and atmosphere was fantastic.

Awesome locally owned
The steak and veggies were delicious. Will def be going back!

Save room for Dessert
The Scallop appetizer coupled with the new gnocchi side dish made a perfect entree. The tomato salad was excellent -- partly due to the wonderful late crop of local tomatoes, but it was plated and dressed exactly right for the dish. My dinner companion was delighted with the quality of the food and will return. I trusted the server for two wine recommendations. One was a hit, the other not-so-much. The cream cheese / carrot cake / caramel dessert served in a mini cardboard ice-cream container is still the star of the show for me. Save room for dessert!

Great Food, Good Service, Very Loud
Lots of hard surfaces make this a very noisy restaurant. We were able to overhear several conversations around us because people had to talk loudly just to be hear by their table. There is one insignificant noise baffle on the ceiling which might have helped if there had been about 6 more installed.

We had ate at a few other restaurants with the same chef so I wasn't shocked when the food was Ahhhmazing! We went for my husbands 35th bday and they gave us a private area with an amazing and quite funny waitress! The Bone In Filet was to die for and the veal was the best I've ever had. We tried the Mac and cheese and broccoli - both equally amazing. I am not a fan of broccoli but it was delicious! We finished with the carrot cake dessert. Very unique but different. All of the food was filled with rich and flavorful tastes. We will definitely be returning soon for our weekly date night. Another gem of a restaurant here in Franklin!

Great food & Great service
I found this restaurant randomly while scouring the
Internet for places to eat we had not tried yet.
I had the bone in ribeye and my husband had the lamb.
Both were cooked to perfection. The homemade focaccia bread
was delicious. Our server made a wine recommendation
(the special) and described it to a tee--it is one of the top 3
wines I have ever had. Dessert was a carrot cake with
sour cream ice cream layered--good stuff. The only
complaint was the acoustics. It was hard to hear one another
because it was so loud. Will definitely be back!

Classic, Cozy, and Tasteful
We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate some good things that have happened in our lives! From the blueberry-infused bourbon cocktail to the french-pressed coffee to end the laughter and flavor filled evening. Jason McConnell knows how to create the perfect local night out!

2 out of 3, with a nice recovery
Meal was fun and tasty. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Kitchen overcooked my steak but the pork and fish were spot on for the other two in my party. They quickly jumped on the steak and got a proper temp cut out asap, deserts were on the house.
I'd go back.

The food was fantastic and the service was pretty good considering they were very busy. Although we felt a little cramped at our two-top table with a piece of wood between us and the bar, it actually turned out to be very private and enough room to be comfortable. The beef prices on the menu were pretty high, without much explanation as to why (kobi, etc.); so we opted for the specials which were red snapper and rack of lamb. Both were amazing and we could not have been happier. Great flavors and pairing of the sides. You have to try the mac-n-cheese...it is not too rich or creamy, but the best I have had in a long time!
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
I took a friend to Cork And Cow for her birthday...we dined outside, as the weather was absolutely perfect for such!!!
The decor inside was simplistically classic with pops of color...AMAZING!!! Our food was AMAZING! Our server,
Adam, was an absolute joy!!! His knowledge of the menu, attention to service and accommodations were a well
oiled, balanced, functional machine.
9/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
We thoroughly enjoyed dinner at the Cork & Cow. The Duck was devine, the fish fantastic. Why no Cow you ask. We'll have that next time.
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
It was a wonderful experience, we were treated well by the staff and had a delicious meal.

Cork & Cow never fails to impress. Great food, great service; our favorite restaurant in Franklin. Pick anything on the menu and enjoy! Save room for the carrot cake with cream cheese / sour cream / ice cream topping...outstanding!

Cork and Cow
First time here and really enjoyed food and wine. Service was excellent and a great place for a special occasion. I little pricey though but worth it.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
I took my wife here for her birthday. We normally go to Stoney River, but Cork and Cow is our new favorite place. The service was attentive and quick, the drinks were well balanced and smooth, and the meal was incredible. I recommend the lamb appetizer. It was unparalleled. Te filet was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. An all around outstanding experience.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Relaxed atmosphere in that exposed brick meets industrial look. The cocktails were fabulous - really note worthy. We were told the mixologist has placed 2nd twice in the annual Las Vegas competition, and it shows. I had the Silly Goose and my husband had the Georgia Mint Julep - both were incredible. The bone-in filet was melt-in-your-mouth yummy and correctly cooked. Dessert was clever: carrot cake (fabulous!) served in a to-go cup in case you wanted to wonder around Franklin's charming Main Street. Our server was delightful and helpful as were all the staff. A great evening.

Took my girlfriend for her 25th birthday and was very impressed with the drinks, wine list and, of course, the steaks! Our server, Rachel, was amazing and made our experience that much more enjoyable.
10/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
The filet mignon was perfectly prepared and the sides were delicious. The molten chocolate cake was heavenly.
Great service, too. Will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I put a surprise dinner together for her cousin and her cousin's husband. He is about to be deployed to Afghanistan for almost a year and she's pregnant with their 3rd child. We decided to send them to Cork and Cow. They took amazing care of them. Thanked them for their service multiple times, and gave them the best table in the restaurant. Kudos to Cork and Cow for making their night even more special than my wife and I or our cousins could have imagined. Rock on Cork and Cow. Rock on.

Very, Very Good
From the wonderful Wagyu meatball appetizer to the fantastic steak and incredible mac n cheese, everything was very, very good!
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
The steak was perfect, but the fish I had was just ok. I was not a fan of the orzo that was paired with the fish, but the sides everyone else ordered, the mac n cheese and asparagus, were really good. The salmon my friend ordered was cooked to perfection. Overall, it was a fun birthday dining experience.

Great Franklin place
It's nice to have a very night steak place in the heart of Franklin. Grant is so attentive to the customers we always feel very special! The service is friendly without being in your face. And the food is just A+. You should go!!
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
I'll be back!
Nice to have another upscale option downtown . From the first bites we anticipated great things and C&C delivered. Wonderful warm foccacia; crispy lobster tempura with an tarragon dipping sauce; great steak; fabulous mac and cheese (which I would never order in a restaurant but will now change my homemade recipe to include bacon and chilis); the best green bean "casserole" I've ever eaten; and brussels sprouts served 2 ways. I'm sure dessert would have been great, but we just couldn't have another morsel. A special occasion kind of place and pricey, but I found the portions generous. Using another review as a guide, I ordered the West Indies cocktail. After a sip of mine, hubby ordered one for himself. Great service.. I'll be back.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food and service was awesome! Will definitely be coming back.

Best meal in 1 1/2 years.
We have not had such a fantastic meal and dining experience since moving from the SanFrancisco area.
It was over the top! We are so fortunate to have Cork & Cow in Franklin.

I loved the diversity of the menu and appreciated having so many options. My husband and I both decided on steaks which were cooked perfectly. We chose very different sides and salads and were both pleased. We definitely agreed that our server was the best ever!
It was a very special evening for us both and we hope to return soon.

Excellent for wife's birthday celeb
Loved the savory bites of our ribeye steaks and signature potatoes. Every bite melted in our mouths. A fitting experience for my wife's birthday. Service was excellent. The only negative was that the restaurant was noisy. Other than that, we will be back!

From the moment we arrived...
From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a nice night.
Both the manager and hostess greeted us with a smile and by name.
They both wished us a Happy Anniversary, which showed me they cared enough to read my request when making the reservation!
Service was outstanding. Raychel, our server was perfect, could not have done better.
We will return!

We had friends move back to town and wanted to take them somewhere special.....Cork and Cow was perfect. Everyone ordered the filet except me...I had the dry aged strip and added the black truffle butter....they were perfectly cooked and everyone loved their steaks. The table favorite for a side dish was the squash, but the gnocchi was incredible too, very creamy and made with sourdough which I found very interesting. One personal note, the asparagus salad should not be missed. It's made with a hazelnut brown butter sauce and topped with a fried egg...love love love.

birthday dinner -- first time guest
Wanted to have a nice steak for my birthday dinner. Don't mind spending more for quality food and service. Found this restaurant via Yelp & UrbanSpoon and it had very good reviews. Wasn't disappointed. Steak was very, very good, as was the roasted duck that my wife had and the macaroni and cheese that our younger daughter ordered. Didn't try the wine list. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Probably not a great choice for younger children, but a nice spot for a special dinner for two.
11/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great all-around experience
Food was amazing and Eric our waiter was awesome! I wasn't sure if I would like the side that came with the special so he went to the kitchen and got a small sample for me to try before I ordered! Have never had a waiter do this before. Will definitely go back!

One of our new favorite restaraunts
Cork & Cow offered a wonderful dining experience!! The filet was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the mac & cheese was awesome, so was the Francesca salad. I loved the presentation of food in cast iron cookware. Our server was very attentive and enthusiastic. All around great experience! We can't wait to go back soon. Be sure to make reservations well in advance...limited seating and amazing food make this gem a hot spot:)

Great atmosphere, food and service
This place is a little on the tiny side, but that makes it cozy. The wine list is excellent, the service is always good, and the food is fresh and delicious. It's a little pricey, so maybe a special occasion place, but the appetizers are great, so you could stop in for a glass of wine and appetizer anytime. The steaks are phenomenal, and I love that you can pick from several finishes for the steak. Cute little circular bar with a nice vibe. I'll definitely go back often.

Had dinner there twice last week. Great service and delicious food.
What else can you be asking for?
We will be coming back.

Loved our anniversary dinner
We enjoyed the lobster appetizer, spinach salad, grilled grouper, and filet mignon. Each dish was beautifully plated and Delicious! We also tasted the apple crumble cheesecake for dessert but my favorite was there large selection of martinis.

Great food in Franklin. Finally.
Having dined around the US and Europe, this small restaurant is a welcome addition to the Franklin dining scene. Their dishes stack up against many fine dining establishments. We had the lamb chop appetizer which was excellent. Beet salad and Brussels sprout salad were both nice. We stayed away from the red meat entrees and selected the red fish special and the seafood gnocchi. Both were full of flavor without being over seasoned. Great dining experience. Our server, Jennifer, was excellent with actual experience with each dish and helpful advice. Never felt rushed or ignored. Hard to accomplish some times on a Friday night. Prices were reflective of the quality of the meal.

right on tier
When you get to this price point you have to be worth the experience. The crafted cocktails are crafty and unique and made me just have to try one. The wine list was very broad and that helped with my palette of blends that can be hard to find. The food was ridiculous. Simple yet precise and amide a great presentation was food that made you clear your plate, generous yet not overwhelming. The menu was far from stale and apparently rotates enough that I'm looking forward to coming back.

Cork & Cow is a great place to celebrate a special occasion....our occasion was a birthday. The cocktails are great, appetizers were amazing, and the food was AWESOME (obsessed with the gnocchi!!!!). Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable...she helped us pick the right amount of side dishes to share with our entrees and recommended 2 wonderful desserts. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I had dinner Saturday 12/7/13. Had an 8:30 p.m. reservation which we were promptly sat down for. Place was full and very alive! We were sat up stairs, which is small and has low ceilings. We didn't mind as we were looking for some personal time and this met the needs. Food was incredible! Scallop appetizer was amazing. We dine out in the Nashville area a lot, we will most definitely return to Cork & Cow.
