We went to Cinghiale to celebrate
We went to Cinghiale to celebrate our daughter's engagement. Restaurant sent out complimentary glasses of sparkling wine which was a lovely touch. Food was excellent. Portions perfect. We had a great time.

Always a winner for food & wine...
Food, terrific... Staff, knowledgable & engaging... Atmosphere, just our style.... Never disappointed and always pleased by the additions to an already extensive wine list.

Excellent preparation with an amazing wine list. This is a top restaurant in Baltimore and a place to go when visiting.

second time back
My husband and i had another delicious meal-we love the pasta! The staff is great.
6/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our party include a vegan and vegetarian. Our waiter did an excellent job of explaining the options and the standard dishes. They also prepared special entrees.

I cannot remember when I dined at Cinghiale first time.Probably not long after they opened their door to diners starved for Italian cuisine.I've been a regular visitor ever since.Tuesday at Enoteca are special occasion because in addition to excellent food you get to chose from their extensive wine list, but pay only 50% of the listed price.
Let me make clear that in addition to Enoteca this restaurant boast a wonderfully appointed restaurant where same delicious food and wines are served.
I frequently go to NYC and dine there, and although there are some fine Italian restaurants,no one beats The Wild Boar.

Fabulous meal in Baltimore!
Don't miss Cinghiale. Outstanding, fresh, authentic Italian food. Knowledgeable servers. Top notch on every level.

All good but the end
After a really nice meal at Cingiali, We paid part of our bill with a $100 visa gift card. The waiter came back and said the restaurant only accepted $81 of the $100. The card was not returned to us. What happened to the last $19?
We live nearby and have dined there a number of times, but that left a very bad taste after such an otherwise enjoyable meal.

Awesome As Always!
When I am in Baltimore on business I arrange my schedule and hotel location so I frequent Cinghale. The past weekend I came to Baltimore for pleasure and finally bring my husband to restaurant I always rave about. I work in the food industry and many restaurants do not live up to their hype. Cinghale never disappoints.

We loved it!
It was our first visit to this place, the chef did an amazing job pairing flavored. Everything we tasted was mouth watering. Our server was new and young but so educated and perfectly attentive in every detail. We can't wait to go back to Baltimore and visit Cinghaele again!
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Cinghiale has been on my list 'to try' for a long time, we finally made it and it was perfect! The wine list was wonderful, the wait staff was extremely knowledgable & helpful in wine selection. The menu had decent variety - we enjoyed the 2-3-and 4 course options in order to try different items. I wish there were more fish opitons (Rockfish was the only option and I very much enjoyed it), but the menu was printed daily so you knew the food was fresh. Loved the ambiance - meet & cheese sliced in front of you in the middle of the restaurant. We will definitely be back!

A real treat
There are lots of options here -- we enjoyed making a multi-course meal choosing several things off of the extensive menu and pairing with different wines. The wine by the glass selection is amazing and they offer 3 and 6oz pours which is nice. The quality of the ingredients really shines here. Cannot remember a better cheese selection and beautifully served. Can't wait to go back. We sat outside on a nice evening which was great, too, but would come here any time of year. Jill was our server and was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Thanks Jill!

Entire crew from Maitre D David to waiter Joshua and James were FABULOUS and such a pleasure!! We WILL be back!!! We frequent you often!!!

Restaurant Week 2013
Our second visit to Cinghiale occurred during Restaurant Week. We took advantage of the RW menu for $30 which was limited to a choice of 1 of 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert. We also chose the wine pairings which was an additional $25. Food and drink were delicious but we thought the wine pours were rather small. As one would expect, Cinghiale - Enoteca has an extensive wine list both by the glass and the bottle, but the overall wine prices are expensive. Service was excellent. In addition to the RW menu, the regular menu includes a $29 special which includes choice of limited number of appetizers, several pasta dishes, and 2 or 3 desserts. Good value there.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Lived up to its reputation
Amazing food, extensive wine list. You can even get 1/2 glasses to try with different courses. Went during restaurant week but will definitely return to explore the menu.

One of the best in Baltimore
Came here for restaurant week and was not disappointed, at least most of the dishes on the restaurant week menu. The zucchini soup was outstanding, the heirloom tomato salad was fresh and tasty. The Branzino was grilled to perfection but hubby thought the Hand Cut Tagliatelle with Veal Bolognese was a bland and noodle over cooked. Both the Panna Cotta and chocolate brownie were excellent. The service was friendly, but could use a little more attention to detail. The restaurant was packed so we could cut the staff some slacks for not putting olive oil on EVERY plate or filling water only for part of the table. Everyone at our table has pet peeve about hygiene - we didn't like the utensils being put directly on the tables.
7/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
My guest and I had a great time. We chose the Restaurant Week menu and our selections were very good. My only negative was that my pasta was sticking together, a sign that it sat on the warming table a little too long. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a special night out.
8/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good food in a eclectic place. It is a fine dining with the feeling of cozy friendly place. The place get loud however, it does feel very friendly meeting place. The fix price menu combination is a nice touch to try a three course menu. Otherwise, you can choose alacarte. The vine list is amazing and the vine pairing option is a great feature to my opinion.
We had homemade tagliatelle, the pasta was a bit overcooked. However, this is from personal opinion of pasta lover Italian. The zucchini soup and Bronzino was outstanding.
Will recommend to friends.

We had a reservation for 9pm and were seated promptly. Our server, Rachael, welcomed us with a smile and with answers to all of our questions. We ordered a heirloom tomato salad and zucchini soup to begin. Both were very good, but my soup left my girlfriend wishing she'd chosen it. We both had the veal bolognese which was filling and phenomenal. The portions were larger than I had anticipated but not too much to be excessive. She finished with a vanilla panacotta and fruit and I had the chocolate cake. Both were exquisite. Cinghiale isn't cheap but the food was worth the investment. We ordered a mid-priced bottle of wine which was enjoyable but overpriced (event for a restaurant). Service was wonderful- Rachael was an outstanding server.
8/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
great food and service; too loud
Went during restaurant week and had great food and the service was superb. However, the noise level did not allow you to hear the person speaking from across the table.
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
I'd never been here before, but my friend and I decided that restaurant week was the best time to try it. The meal was very good, better than I expected. I get nervous about prix fixe meals because you never know if the meal is more about quality or quantity. Either way, I couldn't tell. Everything was amazing and the portions were perfect.

Handmade Pasta/Attention to Details
The "Grandma Special" was delicious and just the right variety for an evening of solo dining for business. I look forward to another pasta dish as the Spaghetti alla Chitarra with Pacific Shrimp was well balanced and al dente. The Gelato Torta with salted pistachio brittle was the finish to a charming dinner. Location is a short walk from Little Italy and a leisurely walk from the Inner Harbor. Very attentive staff.

Best Anniversary EVER!
Spur of the moment decision led us to make the reservation for same night dining. We felt so special on our evening out. Everything, from the free valet parking to the waitress (Melinda :) ) that brought us a complimentary drink to toast our special occasion was above and beyond what we have experienced in any other restaurant. We haven't been able to stop talking about it all week. Thank you to the staff and chef at Cinghiale for creating such a great place. Don't change a thing, it is AMAZING!
8/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
cinghiale never disappoints. the food is always amazing. the service is consistently fabulous. the wine list will blow your mind. of course, i'd expect no less from the wolf/foreman force of nature.

Great food, outstanding service
We had dinner here, after dining the night beore at sister restaurant Pazo. This was much better, both the food and the service. For appetizers, we had the lamb heart tartare, which was amazing, calamari (the best my husband has had), heirloom tomatoe salad and a bruchetta combo plate. For entres, we I had the tortolini (good, but taseted more like dumplings), seared tuna and hangar steak (both yummy). For desert we had an assortment of gelato - all were superb. The star of the meal was our waiter, who helped us select a delicious chianti from an extremely full wine menu, and was just all around pleasant and helfpul. I would definately go back.

Seating - the only difference
The same menu & prices & kitchen serve both sides of a large dining room. We reserved in "enoteca" but chose to be seated in the more formal "restaurant". Except for slightly too salty & somewhat chewy grilled calamari starter, we were very impressed with our two 4 course meals, ordering 8 different dishes. Service was very responsive & entirely unobtrusive. The room was comfortable, well lit, and quiet enough for easy conservation in a low voice. There seems to be much more clatter & chatter coming from the "enoteca" side of the room, but it was muted by the large space and high ceiling. Although portion sizes of our starter and primi dishes appeared slightly small, looks were deceiving and we were full at meal's end. Worth the $$$.

I LOVE this place. Every time
I LOVE this place. Every time I go I am blown away by the service and the food. I went for my birthday with my mother on a very quiet Sunday and we had a fabulous time. Great wine, delicious risotto and pasta and an extremely attentive and friendly bar staff. Cinghiale can be a bit pricey but honestly, if you want some of the best Italian food in the city, go here.

I've been to this restaurant
I've been to this restaurant three times now and each time the food and service are outstanding. It's definitely a place I like to go for special occasions. Their wine list is amazing!

We had a reservation but once
We had a reservation but once at the bar, we decided to stay there. Great way to experience Cinghiale! We were able to discuss the extensive wine list and the menu. Great way to taste! Great Bar, Bartenders! A bustling atmosphere, classy, and right next to the Harbor!

Wouldn't miss it
We only get to Baltimore once a year for a trade show and dining at Cinghiale is always a priority.
Our foreign guests also request a visit. Love the menu, the food never disappoints, the wine list is interesting, and the service is tops.
We love the look and feel of Cinghiale- it's a beautiful restaurant. Great people watching. Wish we could get to Baltimore more often!
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good, as usual
This is one of our favorite spots in town despite a few uneven experiences last year. The Enoteca is definitely louder and more casual but the food is absolutely just as good as in the Osteria. Fun place, great service.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Dinner at Cinghale was overall a nice experience. The mushroom pasta dish was excellent. Swordfish was undercooked to cooked medium rare, not medium, but otherwise was nice. Salads were perfect. Calamari was excellent, but we ordered it "to share with the table" and our waitress didn't warn us to order two. We ordered a 9 yr old Tuscan at half off (might be a Tuesday special) which was a great bargain. It was terrific, except one of the waitresses drained the last of the bottle into one of our half full glasses and dumped the sediment into it (rookie mistake). Aside from that, the overall experience was "almost excellent". The interior feels like an old world Osteria. This was my 3rd visit and I will gladly try again.

Great food. I liked how half portions were available for dinner to allow me to try other items on the menu. The chocolate bonet dessert and gelato selection was amazing.

The food and service was excellent. Portion sizes were perfect. It was noisy but we could still hear each other during dinner. Next time we will try the other side of the restaurant.

Casual, trendy, excellent food, outstanding service. I will come back each time visiting Baltimore.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
This restaurant had several dining options, a very affordable fixed price, a more expensive fixed price or a la carte. all of the options looked good and were well worth the price. The wine list is amazing - we went primarily because it was the only place we could find that had wines from Montefalco Italy- a tiny area of Umbria. There were several to choose from ranging from reasonable to more expensive. The food was very good, two of the party had the wild boar pasta dish- just as good as the food we ate in Umbria, which is known for its wild boar. The service was impeccable, friendly and knowledgable - we were very impressed. we will certainly go back and recommend to anyone who likes good Italian - Umbrian style done with elegant flair.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Cinghiale is, perhaps, representative of Harbor East in general. There is nothing exactly wrong with the place, and the food is fine, but it seems to exist on a level of self-consciousness rather than cuisine. The clientele is well-coiffed and well dressed and appear ready to pose for a Baltimore Magazine shoot. The menu is imaginative, the food delicious, but not as great as it should be for the prices.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
excellent food, wine and service
This osteria has a very authentic feeling and you can choose a casual dinner in the enoteca or more formal in the dining room. I tried the wine bar and enjoyed the delicious four course meal, with a wide range of glasses of wine available, something that is not common outside of enotecas. The seasonal menu for fall is really nice. Service was very friendly, and accommodating.

THE best Italian restaurant in town
Cinghiale is, without a doubt, the best Italian eatery in Baltimore. The atmosphere is dynamic, the food is fantastic, and the service is beyond compare. Tonight, my beautiful girlfriend and I enjoyed the prix fixe, "cucina della nonna," which includes an assortment of bruschetta del giorno, a choice of entree, and dessert. To say that the flavors presented to us were exquisite would be an understatement. Even the breads with olive oil we received to whet our appetites were divine. The pastas are made fresh in-house, creating a sensual experience. The desserts alone are worth the trip. And the wine list? Oh, this is a oenophiles dream come true. Bravo!
11/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
I took my significant other here for a birthday dinner. Not only did the wait staff comment on his birthday, but they included a candle on his dessert plate and a complementary treat. We really appreciated the great service and attention to detail. Also, the wine recommendation was fantastic!
11/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
Solicitous but not hovering service. Excellent sommelier. Food very good except the shaved brussel sprout salad. It was too raw and the crispy pigs ear was like eating plastic.

The menu is wonderful. Love the choices. Something for everyone. Every bite was delicious!

Some of the best Italian food I have ever had. Presentation quality were great, yet the atmosphere was comfortable, not stuffy.i would definitely highly recommend. When we return to Baltimore, we would come back again.

Love this restaurant - the food is just perfect, the service top notch and you feel like you're in northern Italy. If you want to be sure you'll enjoy the evening, come to Cinghiale.

Happy & Sad
We visited Cinghiale for the first time for our anniversay dinner. We made our reservatations for the Enoteca side, which is beautiful and lively. Our table was a bit too close to the door so we were hit with cold air everytime despite it being, in theory an airlock entryway.
Our server was awesome. She was attentive throughout the evening and did not mind our questions while we pondered our dinner choices. We chose a selection of salumi and cheeses for appetizers and they were delicious. The entrees were not as wonderful. Gnocchi was overcooked although the veal tongue ragu was excellent. The sausage stuffed ravioli was gritty tasting although the sauce of butter and sage was very good. Best to do appetizers and dessert here!
11/20/2013 4:00:00 PM
Very enjoyable dinner
Sitting by the window in the corner of the Enoteca that is right adjacent to the Osteria, it's almost like having dinner there, but this setting is more intimate. The food is equally good, although we were not as impressed with everything as we have been in the past. The red shrimp an sea urchin bruschetta did not quite live up to expectation. The gnocchi with autumn vegetable and mushroom risotto came without an offer of grated parmigiano, but that was an oversight of the wait staff; the quality of both dishes was outstanding. The arctic char was very good but not outstanding, but the dessert with toasted almond and meringue was out of this world. So although the food was a little uneven this time, we'd still go back in a heartbeat.

The food was excellent and the service outstanding which contributed to a memorable evening at the Inner Harbor.

The ambience depends on where you are seated. It's much nicer in the dining areas. The booths in the bar area are less comfortable and the noise level is higher. Even so, the service is good and the food is excellent.
