Beautiful setting, fabulous meal.
The gorgeous sunset view perfectly balances the rustic seating. Much if not all of the food is locally farmed and then all of it is expertly prepared by the chef. Prices reasonable. BYOB is appreciated.

Farm to Table.. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
The Beach Plum is a hidden gem that offers the freshest and most delicious meats, seafood, and vegatables that Martha's Vineyard has to offer. The dinner views are spectacular and the grounds were beautiful and serene. The service was spot on and the friendly staff made the night perfect. Just a reminder is is BYOB.

Classic Vineyard with a View
This is the place to go if you want excellent, thoughtfully prepared and served fresh local food with an outstanding view over Menemsha. The new chef is also a local farmer on his family's farm. He knows his ingredients because he probably planted them.
Yes, it's pricey but it's The Vineyard and good restaurant food on the Island always costs more. The menu is creative and portions are generous.

Lovely setting, delicious food
This is a beautiful setting, and the tables have a rustic funky informal feel. It was refreshing to just have water poured without the usual question of what kind you would prefer. We had only main courses, and all were carefully and deliciously prepared, meats perfectly cooked, with novel and delectable combinations of ingredients that were surprising and pleasing. The new chef is fantastic. Bring your own wine, as it's a dry town.

Food,service,view,decor - couldn't have asked for a better experience - outstanding

The town is dry and the restaurant can only serve a glass of red or white wine with your meal. So bring your own!

Celebrated 10th wedding anniversary. Good food from carefully thought out menu. Unbeatable views. BYOB.

Very Fresh, Sit Outside
We sat outside so the view was unmatched by anything on the Island. The food was delicious and super fresh but it was under seasoned. Salt, pepper and some Island herbs would have been great. If you are a purist, then this is the place. Desserts, however, were insanely good.

Wonderful food in idyllic setting!
I just happened across a review of Beach Plum on my way to MV and was so excited to get a table for Saturday night. We had no idea how gorgeous the view would be over Menemsha Harbor- this only added to the delicious dinner and warm service. Want to stay closer (or there!) next time! We had amazing lobster bruschetta, razor clams, and a superb roast chicken!

We had a delicious meal from begining to end. The atmosphere and views are amazing. This restaraunt is not to be missed when on Martha's Vineyard.

Gorgeous and gourmet
Beach Plum Restaurant makes eating seriously satisfying. We had healthy fresh ingredients combined in cool ways. tastes like new cuisine as in the next 'nouveau'. Fluke and striped bass were amazing. Mussels went around the table and we had to order more. Pork belly tasted like a delicacy. It's a lively scene without excessive noise. Outside on all sides is beautiful nature. Go before sunset if you can.

Roast Goat was fantastic
Fortunately we were with friends willing to share the goat. It was really good. Only problem was virtual lack of dessert as dessert chef took vacation!

Missed that it was BYOB
The food was excellent and we had a perfect view from our table of the stunning sunset. My only disappointment was that we somehow missed the fact this was a byob! Seemed to be
Mostly locals... I checked the website as well as our open table reservation and saw nothing that said byob. Regardless, we had a wonderful meal. All very fresh and prepared perfectly.

A bit self-conscious
I've been going to the Beach Plum for years. It's a "must go" on the Vineyard. I love the new vibe - un-stuffy, friendly, casual. The food is inventive but you should pre-check the menu to ensure there's something you want. Our group was shocked at the $120 roast chicken (for 3 or 4 people)! Really? $30-40 per serving and you all have to agree to have chicken? My salad was amazing but my lamb pasta entree was only ok. Two of us ordered the chocolate/hazelnut/honey dessert. I knew what it would be but my dining partner was really surprised when it arrived, thinking "it would be a cake or a tort or something sort of normal." All a bit self-conscious, we thought. We'll go back but not before checking the menu.

Fantastic Food, Fantastic Service
Food was the best we had during our stay in Martha's Vineyard. As this is a farm to table restaurant, mentioning the specific dishes would not be apropos. Our server however was very familiar with the menu we had and made recommendations for our entire party and everyone was happy, no ecstatic.
The setting is gorgeous and the decor was quaint. Going forward, it will always be in our plans when on the island.
One caveat that I did not see in the other reviews. It is BYOB, so make sure you bring is you do partake. (learned from the helpful maitre d' that outside of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown, the island is dry. More experienced visitors probably know this but this was our first experience dining outside those areas).

Great service, although some
Great service, although some of the dishes were better than others. My bass was terrific, and I loved the beans, but one in our party was quite disappointed with the fluke. Everything was very fresh, and the overall experience was good.
8/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Beach Plum food was outstanding - we had the heirloom tomato salad, the lobster crostini and the fluke with salad. All dishes were incredibly yummy. I don't mind paying higher prices when the product is this good! We took two desserts back to our cottage.
However, it was a bit chilly to sit outside, and the service was a bit slow. Again, not a big issue because we could then savor the view (and the sunset) and eat at leisure.

Off the charts
It has always been a special place and with the addition of Chris Fischer and his inspired cuisine and hands on approach it has become ethereal.

Very loud. Not sure if it's due to the new table configuration, but we could barely hear our server.

Beach Plum is the plum find of MV!
Absolutely delicious farm to table fresh, innovative, beautifully presented food. Lovely low-key
atmosphere, impeccable service. Such notables as The Obamas and local
resident Larry David (dining with Ray Allen) can be seen mingling with a mix of visitors and regulars.
Definitely was my best meal this trip against heavy competition from
State Road, Outermost Inn and Lambert's Cive which are all
First class spots, too!!,

A Great Place to Dine
My husband and I have been going to the Beach Plum for 10 + years now. Every year we come to Martha's Vineyard for a week or two to celebrate our birthdays. (We were born the same year, same month 2 days apart). We go to the Beach Plum for a celebration dinner. We make our reservations so that we can catch the sunset, we bring our own fabulous wine and order something different from the menu each year. This year we were surprised with a new decor, a new chef and a new menu, but we were not disappointed.
We hope that you will try this restaurant for your celebration, no matter what it is for.

Best meal on the island
Our meal at the Beach Plum was the best we had on the island. It was a true dining experience, with superb food, outstanding service and the gorgeous view. Also very celiac friendly!!

Food was everything we hoped
Food was everything we hoped it would be. Fresh, locally sourced, beautifully prepared and delicious. The seats looking into the kitchen are wonderful. Fabulous evening. Remember to BYOB - food this good deserves a fine wine.
