Our table was ready on time
Our table was ready on time and the service was helpful and friendly. The brunch menu was unique & tasty, and they offer a self-serve Bloody Mary bar (instead of the typical omelet bar for brunch.) Our kids (4 and 6) were pleased with the children's menu as well. The Liberty Hotel did a nice job of maintaining key features of the old jail, while creating a sophisticated and modern feel in the lobby and restaurants.

Special Occasion Destination
My experience at Clink was fantastic. The historical ambiance was family friendly, a good conversation starter, and yet suitable for informal and formal dates. It was great! Thank you!

Brunch was certainly delicious,
Brunch was certainly delicious, and the bloody mary bar was very cool (although we totally forgot about it once seated, oops). I had the baked eggs which was cooked perfectly, and my fiance had the french toast which was great as well. My friend had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and burrata cheese and enjoyed the dish as well. We shared a fresh fruit bowl which was refreshing. The hosts were very friendly and accomodating. Our server was fine but rushed us quite a bit, dropping the check 3 bites into our breakfasts. He made sure to replenish our coffee in a timely manner, but the fact that we were so rushed put a damper on the morning. We do still look forward to returning to Clink, specifically for the delicious menu options.

The location and ambiance
The location and ambiance of this restaurant was terrific. The unique history of the building is worth the visit even if you don't want to eat. I highly recommend it to anyone who visits the Boston area

Add farro for extra zip
The halibut was terrific by itself but adding the farro extra to the meal really made the dinner outstanding.

A night in the clink
We decided on dinner at clink because we had once before hung out with friends at the Liberty hotel for drinks and the restaurant continued the theme of the Liberty. If you are looking for a cool atmosphere and a nice dinner this is your spot.

Had a wonderful time here, great food, Great service. Highly recommend!

No jail house blues here
Quite a different dining ambience. Excellent food, atmosphere and service in a unique renovated jail setting. A real winner here

The Clink is not a Klinker
As a many time guest of the Liberty and partaker of the food at the Clink, you won't be disappointed. The luncheon menu is always a treat with delectable choices. The seafood chowder never looses its texture and taste and my favorite, the 3 cheese sandwich w.sweet potato fries stays the same: always a treat.
5/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
We went here for a special occasion and I let them know that on open table. I asked them just to congratulate my friend and they did!!! Not only that but we were offered some champagne to toast with! I couldn't be more pleased with the service and I had some of the best Eggs Benedict I've ever tasted! I will be back!

A delightful experience
A friend and I had lunch at Clink. The lunch menu was varied and moderately priced. Both of our lunches were delicious. The ambiance was inviting, especially knowing it had been a jail prior to extraordinary renovations which managed to preserve much of the original detail of the architecture. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend the Clink for lunch. There were just 2 details that need improving: our server never checked back to see how our lunch was, and the price for valet parking is high ($20 weekdays).
5/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
I took my boyfriend out to dinner here as a surprise. He loved that it used to be a jail and that the bars are still in tack.

Bold, brash and beautiful food
In the Liberty Hotel that was once the local jail, this very modern restaurant is brash with its brick walls and jailhouse ironmongery. The food is fabulous. Beautifully presented plates are a feast for the eyes and the mouth both. The service was excellent - good timing - not too fast to whip away the plates, and not too slow that we were wondering how long it would take. We had a really delicious meal and very much enjoyed the whole experience apart from the slightly noisy ambience.

Friends from Chicago where in town and we came here for dinner - we loved it!

If only the inmates could eat so go
This former prison modern decor is very modern and stays with the theme...... If only inmates could eat so good. This was a fantastic Bruch location on Sunday morning. The cost was not over re top and the service excellent. A perfect setting to meet with family and friends in an upscale location. Portions were the correct serving size and Fresh Sqeezed OJ is GREAT.

Good for business meetings
Nice atmosphere for business. Limited lunch menu and smaller portions, but if you want a more upscale lunch, this is it.

Fantastic Food & Experience
We were a group of five people and had an amazing experience at Clink that night. The service was great, the food was extremely tasty and we all left really satisfied and looking forward to our next business trip to Boston to visit this hot spot again!

My wife and I had been to the Clink before and it was as special this time as it was last. The menu was not extensive but the selection was very good. We both found something different and delicious.
Drinks were very good and the wine list was extensive.
It is a place to go for special occasions. I say that because it is expensive, especially the drinks and the wine.
(We had a chocolate fondue for dessert that is not to be missed.)
Parking was also expensive at $20. There is no public parking close by.
The ambience is different it being an old jail.

One Year Anniversary Dinner
My husband and I stayed at the Liberty Hotel last year on our wedding night, and hosted a brunch there the next morning. We have eaten at the Liberty before, and have never been disappointed.
This year we decided to have dinner at Clink in celebration of our one year wedding anniversary, and are so glad we did. The service was outstanding, and our food was delicious.

Excellent but Overpriced
Excellent food, excellent service, and cleverly "prison chic," but extremely expensive. Including tip, we wound up spending nearly $100 per person.

Unique restaurant with beautifully
Unique restaurant with beautifully presented food which was very tasty. Service was exceptional. Great for a romantic or celebratory dinner.

Not fit for a special occasion.
Not fit for a special occasion. It is lacking in ambiance and the service is just ok. The food is good and interesting. The salads were not great and dressing was sparse. The drink menu was very creative.
Probably won't return.
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
The tables are a little too
The tables are a little too close together for it to be super romantic but the food is delicious and the place has a great history. We had a great night.

An Arresting Experience
CLINK offered a good ambiance, the waiter could have come back more frequently to check up on us, especially since we were a larger party. The charcuterie was very good and everyone enjoyed it. The presentation of the pork loin was great but it would have been a better culinary experience if the skin was crispy. My other guests had varying degrees of satisfaction with their dishes, primarily the pasta being slightly overlooked. Overall it was a good experience.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Clink's food was exceptional! It seemed like so much attention was given to the detail of the meal. I would recommend this restaurant and will be back again.
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
We have been wanting to go to Clink for a while and after trying it last night my only disappointment is that we didn't experience it sooner! Everything was fabulous from the energetic ambiance to the incredible food - it is definitely a neighborhood gem! Can't wait to go again!
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
I wish there was something in place about kids after a certain time. This is an adult restaurant and it was somewhat distracting to have kids come in after 8:30 when I am trying to have a nice quiet dinner
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
This place knows what it's doing, which is gettting harder and harder to find places knowing. Just one easily avoidable service glitch (the bread not arriving until well after first courses served and having to remind again). Otherwise, great attentive, unobtrusive service with a smile. Steakes and sides prepared to utter perfection. Just a great place. The qualty/price proposition is good all year round, but during Restaurant Week they don't skimp like so many other places do. High praise all around!
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
restaurant to go to
Definitely worth checking iut if youve been in a restaurant rut or keep cycling the newbury copley scene. Definitely not an average hotel restaurant it was delicious, reasonable, and a fun place to be

Clink Blends Yummy & Conversational
The interior of the Liberty Hotel is so distinctive. Our recent breakfast meeting there was terrific -- yummy food AND acoustics that allowed great conversation. Noisy is not always desirable :)
9/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Clink is one of several restaurants
Clink is one of several restaurants in the hotel, a converted jail. The lobby is a scene, with lots of attractive people walking around enjoying drinks or the food. The Liberty Bar, in the lobby area is swinging and can be noisy, but fun. Alibi , housed in former jail cells is more muted and reserved. Scampo the more formal restaurant downstairs would be my choice for dinner. Clink, up next to the lobby is fine for dinner but makes an excellent lunch spot. Check out their web site.. .
9/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Overall, a great experience.
The food at the Clink is absolutely excellent - I had the steak with rainbow chard and potatoes. Service was quick, as the restaurant hasn't yet hit its peak hours when we got there, and our easier was professional enough, if not overly friendly (he wasn't rude, just a little stiff). The ambience was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Try the scallops!
Went to Clink on a first date...the food was really good (my date had the sea scallops -- as did just about everyone else -- and he said they were the best he's ever had!), the service was great, and it was definitely romantic; the only reason i'm not giving it 5 stars is that our table was positioned so close to another that we were basically listening to that couple's (terrible) conversation all night. The cocktails were fantastic, and the lobby bar right outside of the restaurant is a unique feature and always a lot of fun.

Review the pricing on extras
Everything at Clink os good. The mistake this restaurant has made is overpricing the extras. Extras, such as corn or green beans, are a portion for one, look like they come out of a can, and are priced at $10.00. How a fine establishment puts so much thought into the menu, the proper pricing of main courses and alcohol and then makes this kind of mistake on extras in beyond me.

As Good As Expected
It was my 10th Wedding Anniversary and it was romantic enough to enjoy each other's company, have private conversations but yet enjoy the ambience around us!
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Loved it-but hard on gluten free
Wonderful ambiance, great service... But not alot of choices for the gluten free crowd.
Try the Hydrate martini... Fantastic

Very nice dinner spot
I went with a friend before attending an event at the TD Garden. We were on a schedule so we didn't really linger. Menu is somewhat limited but the food was good. Service was very nice as well. I'd go back. Lively, but unlike Scamp, you can have a conversation.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Breakfast was tasty and unique. Loved the Vermont maple sausage with fresh eggs and fruit. Plus the whole former jailhouse was interesting to explore. If you ask for a room at the Liberty Hotel shop for pricing before booking.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everyone at our table had a delicious Bloody Mary and all our bruch entrees were delicious and plentiful. Our waiter was great too.
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
'Cool' place to have dinner
The restaurent located at a former jail adds to the experience. Food was good - not spectacular. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and seemed genuinely concerned about making sure we had a good experience.
This is a good place for a romatic dinner - even a proposal. The fact that the place was a jail woudl add to any marriage proposal.

Great Venue, Good Food
Been to Clink twice and love the atmosphere and service. Food was good, but not outstanding (but I'm a little spoiled). Wine list was adequate with a fairly good selection and pricing (again, am spoiled as I'm a winemaker and own a CA winery).
But the ambience etc. is outstanding, and the service make up for lack of nuance in food prep and presentation.
Definitely will come back again with friends!
10/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Clink had great food and service. Minimal decor BUT amazing architectural design to convert the Charles Street Jail into a fine restaurant. Interesting notes about history of the building posted tastefully. Loved the setting and the dining.

My husband and I had a nice
My husband and I had a nice dinner with our daughter (not quite starving student) on a weeknight. seated in a nice booth. The black pasta with shrimp was well prepared and very tasty, the salad (which my daughter and I split) was generous and fresh.
Service was just right -- attentive and timely, but unobtrusive.
The place is a bit over-lit and loud -- were it toned down a bit, the ambiance and ability to converse would be better.
11/4/2013 4:00:00 PM
Tasty and relaxing lunch. Ambience very conducive to visiting with friends.

We chose Clink because it
We chose Clink because it was recommended to us as interesting architecturally. This place is great! Very professional staff and the food was so different and delicious. We made a reservation even though it was a Tuesday. Got there early and had a drink in the lobby where complementary cheese/crackers was offered. We'll go back.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner
All staff were wonderful. welcoming and the food was fantastic. We were with a "finicky" older family member who was treated beautifully.

Brunch with kids
Very nice place and kid friendly. Jail concept of course helped with kids. It's got high quality brunch as you would expect for a Luxury collection hotel

Dinner in the Jail
Clink is good food and great fun in the now elegant renovated jail in Boston. If you can get there early enough before dinner, have a drink in the open area and look around at the historical photographs. Parking only by valet, but they are quick and efficient.
