A true gem. Perfect meal, I had the delightful rockfish and my handsome date had the pork, topped with carmelized figs. Expert wine pairings by the charming and very knowledgeable Krishna. I will be back often - this might be my new favorite spot in DC.

Great restaurant. Been here
Great restaurant. Been here many times and they really outdid themselves this last time. Service was top notch, all courses were very well prepared and tasted outstanding. The wine recommendations were spot on by the servers and my girlfriend and I could not have been happier. We can't wait for another visit soon!

Amazing food, excellent service, great location. I oved the halibut and the sweet potato/ginger soup. Great wine list. The service was perfect, and everyone was really attentive and accommodating. Thank you! We will be coming back soon.

Went for brunch and it was delicious. Sat out on the patio (they don't take reservations for the patio--it was a really nice day, we we were really lucky). Split the following with my friend and all was absolutely delicious: cinnamon & sugar donuts, Huckleberry Waffles with Lemon Butter & Maple Syrup, and the crispy salt-roasted Potatoes. Highly recommend all of those!

We went for our anniversary on a Thursday night, the weather was warm and people were sitting both inside and out. We had a drink at the bar before we sat down for dinner. Bartender was friendly and made good speciality drinks.
Our waiter was friendly but did not know the menu that well in terms of recommendations. However, Justin who selected wine for us was extremely friendly, knowledgable and engaging. His wine selection based on our dinner selection was perfect. The lamb "stew" with feta was amazingly good as was my Rock fish.
I would go back and recommend it.

ALthough the food was very
ALthough the food was very good, it was not up to the level touted by a well-known restaurant critic. The bread, which I regard as a sort of test case for the overall quality of the food, was quite bland. A large staff ensured careful attention, although this sometimes resulted in premature removal of items. So a very good experience--nothing to grouse about. But there are other restaurants just as good and equally pricey which might require less travel and easier access by metro or car.

Well done, as always, food is always imaginative and service strong.

Cashion's is one of my favorite
Cashion's is one of my favorite places to eat on DC. The food is always high quality and creative, the staff are knowledgeable regarding food and wine, and the atmosphere is elegant but laid back at the same time.
4/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
I wasn't really sure what to think about Cashion's when we made the reservation. I thought it was just going to be another Mintwood (a few doors down). The layout is great. The layout is comfortable and if you want a more private dining experience you can get one of the more closed off tables. The outdoor seating looks really nice, but it was too cold to eat out when we went. Great cocktails for brunch as well!
5/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
I've never had a disappointing or even mediocre experience here. Perfect food, service and ambiance.

Top Notch Restaurant
Everything is terrific at Cashion's. Food, service, neighborhood, and clientele were all interesting. Very attentive service and the manager moved around making sure everything was just right. Great place for a special occasion when you don't want to get too dressed up.
5/11/2013 4:00:00 PM
I have been going to Cashion's for several years and the food, wine and hospitality keeps getting better! What a great dinning experience! Justin, George and Billy really are class acts! The final pairing if dessert wine with dessert was spot on! Can't wait for the next time!!
5/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Terrific menu. Whether you want little bites to share, lovely appetizers, delicious salads (flavorsome goose egg) or soups (sting nettle ) -- the beginnings are excellent. The varied and wonderful mains (goat, dorade, meat, or the off-menu veggie plate) continue to delight. Desserts, especially the sorbets and ice creas, are very special. The cookie plate is average, but the other options are terrific.
Terrific waitstaff -- especially Susan
For comfort and wine -- Justin can't be beat
It's easy to understand why Cashion's has been around and successful for years.
5/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
The restaurant was not crowded and my friend and I had a very pleasant and tasty brunch. The staff was pleasant and let us talk without hurrying us out. The menu was a bit limited, however.

we had brunch on the Saturday
we had brunch on the Saturday for the Memorial Day w/e. We were probably the second group of people to arrive, as we got there just as the restaurant opened. The food was delicious, and the lady that waited on us was wonderful. She was attentive, but not to the point where it ever felt like she was hovering, We enjoyed the food and the experience very much, and Cashion's is definitely on my list of DC restaurants. As we were one of maybe 3 or 4 groups present, I can't say much for the noise level or the atmosphere, because it couldn't be anything but quiet, but the space is quite nice, and while it seemed like there were quite a few tables, it didn't seem like people would be sitting on top of each other even if the restaurant was full.
5/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
It was a lovely day and we ate outside, which was fun. The waitstaff is very friendly. The special cocktails were very good and the food was delicious. I had the huckleberry waffles-totally yum. My husband had the poached eggs in puff pastry-very rich and also delicious. And then, because we were in carb shock, we added the homemade donuts, which were the absolute best. We will go back and explore the dinner menu.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant based on a recommendation from a co-worker who had spent 4 years in Washington on assignment. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed a delicious organic chicken dish which was very carefully prepared and presented. What's more, I was able to enjoy a glass of my favorite Greek white wine which made the experience even more pleasurable. Definitely worth a return trip. If you are in Washington, D.C. and want to enjoy a fine meal at a reasonable price with excellent service, do check out this restaurant! You won't be disappointed.

We really enjoyed our food here. Everything had really great flavor and spice. The food tasted fresh and cooked with care.
Would strongly recommend it to people!

Good food, excellent service
At 7 pm on a Sat night, I expected mayhem. But we were able to get a table for 4 outside, the waiter was very patient as our 4th was an hour late, and we ordered drinks and appetizers that kept us going until the final guest arrived. We ordered grilled asparagus and the lamb meatballs. Both outstanding.
Service was attentive but not intrusive. I ordered the Bronzino and it was cooked perfectly. The late guest ordered the goat which was also fantastic.
All in all, a delightful experience.

Good Dining with Some Flaws
The food was very good but items on the menu were not available, such as half bottles of wine. For such a high-end restaurant this was surprising. We are a mature couple and the tables were too close together to suit my husband. Also, there are far too many speakers in the main dining room for all but the very young. That said, the food was fabulous, with outstanding items such as the yeasty rolls and homemade ice cream.

Great Date Night
My wife and I had been wanting to try Cashion's for a while and enjoyed it on a date night. The food was great and the service was very good. I also enjoyed the atmosphere which had a great mix of people and age groups.
6/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
We've dined here many times over the years and never been disappointed. The ingredients are high quality, fresh, and carefully prepared with assertive but not overwhelming seasonings. Service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Soft "pops" music from the 30s-60s predominates, making quiet conversation easy. This recent meal was no exception.
6/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Cashions has food options you won't find elsewhere, like goat, pigs head and bluefish. Good starters. Calamari was excellent.
7/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very good food, as always,
Very good food, as always, but this time with one exception - the salmon was overcooked. Not enough to send back, but disappointing. The rockfish, on the other hand, was perfect.
7/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is my second time back at Cashion's. The first time my friends and I went after to celebrate our last exam of our first year of medical school. The food that night was truly incredible, which I think ramped up my expectations. I had the best piece of meat I have ever tasted that night. The second time, I took my parents, and the food was excellent, but the meat wasn't cooked as great as last time. I ordered my bison steak med rare, and it came out without any pink. Had I mentioned it, I'm sure the friendly waitstaff would have been happy to correct it. Other than that, fantastic again.

A DC Gem
Cashions is consistently delicious and has the most knowledgeable and kind staff. The chef is a pro, changing the menu weekly and always surprising with incredible options. It is truly a neighborhood gem that everyone must try. I promise you will want to go back!

New To DC Area From NYC
I am new to the DC area and have dined at Cashions twice. My standards are pretty high having lived in the NYC area and I have to say that the food has been consistently good. The menu changes daily and selections are very unique. My mom and her husband who own a fine dining restaurant came to visit from out of town and they loved the place as well. I will definitely return here.
8/8/2013 5:00:00 PM
That may be because of my company, but Cashions is a fantastic restaurant. We tried a few of the dishes from the daily changing menu. All of the were we'll seasoned and tasted very fresh. We were too stuffed for dessert, but I can imagine they are just as delicious.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
It's the best restaurant in Adams Morgan by a mile - but easily joins a small, distinguished group of bests from across the city. The food is unique and unmatched. What sets Cashion's apart aside from the quality and variety of the food is the friendly vibe - caring service - great wines - lovely setting. From the three unusual salads on the menu - to the goat, the best chicken in DC, the extraordinarily fresh fish daily ( wild caught! ) like the King Salmon, Halibut, Catfish or whole Bronzino the other night - the drop dead great Burger and the best small plates in DC - it's a gem of a restaurant. Don't forget to introduce yourself to the brothers Manatolas, George and Chef John, sommelier Justin Abad and Billy behind the bar.

We've been going to this place once or twice a year for the last fifteen years for a special evening out. My wife and I love it!

Overall, the food was very good, but the goat stew was spicy without warning, while the chicken was somewhat bland. The farro salad (small plate) was exceptional.

Loved everything about my dinner at Cashion's! A must-visit for anyone in D.C. The food is fabulous, and the patio was lovely.

Always love it!
I have eaten at Cashion's many many times and I am NEVER disappointed. The flavors in the food and the service are always spot on! The chef always cooks every meal to perfection, I always leave stuffed and bragging about the meal to others for days afterward. I bring all my friends to Cashion's and always recommend it to out of town guests. The food is spectacular and the staff and service is excellent!

An excellent and yet unpretentious place, with creative, tasty food.
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Have eaten at this neighborhood favorite of mine many times. Never disappointed! Great place to dine with a friend or two when you want a leisurely meal of great quality and with great service and want to be able to enjoy conversation with friends. On this particular date the weather was perfect for outdoor dining. Monkfish entre was scrumptious.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had not dined at Cashion's in quite some time but the food and service was as excellent as I had remembered it. The menu changes frequently with not often seen dishes such as blue fish and goat. Wines by the glass are available in 3 and 6 ounce pours which allow you to easily try several. Two complaints: food tends to be overly salted, and the semifreddo was firm like ice cream rather than soft as it is supposed to be.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
appetizers and entrees varied and delicious. Limited wine and beer selections.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Cashion's never disappoints!
We have been customers since Ann Cashion owned the restaurant, and I can't say that we have ever been disappointed in a meal or the service. Dinner was delicious, service was great , and the improvement to the outdoor seating with heat lamps is a terrific idea.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Cashion's has been a go-to place for 15 years now. I've never had a bad experience or meal here. Wonderful restaurant in a great location. Hard to beat.

Perfect for a big group
I was in town for a convention, and although I'd had a reservation, I had to expand it at the very last minute because a number of friends joined. The restaurant staff was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. It helped that it was a Sunday night and not very busy - we were seated outside right away at the best table. The appetizers were hands-down the best part of the meal: potatoes, trio of olive oils, chicken liver pate, almonds - all outstanding. All of it was delicious, well-prepared, with the exception of my pasta with blue crab, which was a bit over-salted. Our server was attentive & friendly, but didn't know the bar menu very well. Overall, a solid dining experience and a place to which I would go back with other friends.

Cashion's went through a rocky
Cashion's went through a rocky period, in my opinion, after Ann Cashion left. But they are back and the same warm atmosphere as before. It was not very noise but it was not very crowded either...
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had an excellent meal on Friday night. Service was outstanding, the playlist was fantastic, and the food was inventive and fresh. With all of the new restaurants opening weekly in DC, this place still remains one of the best. Good people, outstanding food, and a vibe that can't be faked.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Gourment French Toast
When I had first bite of their french toast, I was shocked, because it was so good. I did not expect to have such good french toast in DC. I never really surprised with any food in the US before. I wanted to go back to this restaurant next morning already. Also the decaf Latte was really good. I never had good decaffe in anywhereelse.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Superb as usual.
Cashion's is always great and last Saturday was no exception. Great food, locally sourced, great atmosphere and great service. Cashion's has captured that elusive blend of providing terrific dining in a completely comfortable setting. Even though the food is fabulous there is no pretense, no stuffiness.
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fantastic food and service; very interesting wine list; creative menu. We enjoyed the roasted potatoes and vegetable tempura, goat and pork. The goat was intensely delicious, the combination of tzatziki, goat and beans was sublime. We were there VERY early, as we were seeing a play at 7:30, so the noise level was very quiet and as the restaurant filled, it was a pleasant buzz, but nothing overwhelming. We could speak in normal tones and be heard. Would like to go again.
