Great Little Spot
Highly recommend this place prior to catching a Broadway show. Great staff, and the food was amazing. A vibrant cocktail list, with engaging bartenders helps set the fun vibe this restaurant gives off.

This restaurant is a must try. Besides the fact that the food is amazing, the service is even better. I'll definitely eat here again.

Great Find in the Theater district
La Pulperia offers original South American cooking with some dishes I have not seen in other restaurants -even in NYC. The drink specials were delicious, with some unique combinations. i had Fish Ribs-yes, they were the size of a short rib but were actually from a fish. Very different and interesting tasting. Our server told us the dish was from the Brazil and Argentina area. The service at the front end, the bar and at our table was super friendly and helpful explain the different options and they were great at getting us out in time for the 8PM curtain time.

A Mid-town best - NY's best service
NYC is full of great restaurants and usually good food. What you find at La Pulperia is unique dishes, amazing South American ambiance and staff that are beyond friendly. Come to La Pulperia to feel like your part of something and please do not be in a rush. Xavier and George focus on providing great service and are asking when your coming back. I plan to bring my family, friends and co-workers to La Pulperia. You must try the fish ribs, a dish that cannot be duplicated and make sure to order extra coconut rice as you will want to bring it home.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with 5 friends. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. Made excellent suggestions and made accommodations for special dietary needs. The lobster taco appetizer was fabulous. Food was well prepared and artfully presented. Would definitely recommend and go again

We went for lunch before a show. I had the Paco Ribs and my mom had the fish of the day, grilled, both were excellent - not overcooked, great sauce that did not overpower the fish. We asked for Cava and they were out of wine and champagne with was not a good sign upon arrival, but we selected a specialty drink with aguardiente and watermelon which was terrific. The wine delivery came while we were there so we were able to have wine with our lunch. This would be our only criticism that a restaurant could be out of wine and champagne on a wednesday. Service was attentive, they had one tiny bistro table outside at the entrance which we chose, so we could enjoy the gorgeous weather. I would return here.
6/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were visiting NYC and had a great experience here. The menu is Latin fusion from different countries and the service was excellent. Absolutely will come back!

This cute place on restaurant
This cute place on restaurant row is cozy and feels authentic. Service is great and the staff are warm, inviting and very friendly. We got the lobster tacos, empanadas and ceviche. Loved it all! I would stay away from the fries - not bad, but nothing special and the sangria tasted more like juice than a wine based mixture. I guess it depends on what you like.

Amazing service AND delicious food
Great service even though we showed up near closing time. Javier (our waiter) was friendly, helpful, and even changed some of the dishes we ordered to make them more vegetarian friendly. The guacamole was perfect. They have a devil egg dish that was so good i ordered another one. It has tuna tartar, jalapeno sauce, egg, and cucumber. Sooo good:). We will be back for sure!

Meat cut with a fork
What good food! Start to finish.i happen to be gluten intolerant and have trouble finding good food. Quinoa salad was amazing, Sangria short ribs that you could cut with a fork! Topped off with chocolate polenta!
Happy hour drink pricesn5-7 where delicious and perfect for pre theater. Javier was a wonderful waiter.
We'll go back.

The food was amazing; prices were reasonable given the quality and portions and the service was really excellent...attentive w/o being overbearing.

Definitely coming back
Great cocktails, friendly service and great food! Have to try the taquitos de langosta and the empanada with manchego cheese.

Amazing food and excellent service
We loved this amazing new place! Perfect for a pre or post show dinner as well as a special occasion.
The cocktails were the best we've had and food simply delish! The salmon tartare and pacu ribs simply Devine.
We will be going back very soon!!

Explore Great Argentinian Cuisine!
Staff was friendly and welcoming; the place was cozy and CLEAN. We really enjoyed the food. Loved the lobster tacos and fresh, made-to-order guacamole appetizers. Grilled chicken was seasoned perfectly and served with fresh, perfectly dressed greens with interesting shaved vegetables and served over a kind of corn meal pancake. It was delicious and surprisingly filling, because nothing seemed heavy or dense when we were eating it. Also had an interesting collection of cocktails. We had a house specialty drink with chipotle salt on the rim of the glass, with a tequila, pineapple juice, and other things in it--like nothing I've had before, and very tasty. I would love to go back and try more! Especially fresh fish and dessert! Good value.

Dinner was superb
Went for an early dinner after an afternoon matinee. Unbelievably good food. Had sangria braised short ribs and fish ribs - yes, I said fish ribs. They grill the rib cage of this giant fish. The meat is tender & succulent. I'd go back in a heartbeat, but it's a long train ride from Philadelphia. Also had the ceviche which was also great: bright & refreshing. In the end, the only problem was too much food & no way to bring home leftovers.

Great restaurant on the row
Being on restaurant row gives this place some competition but it books its own and more. Great fresh guacamole and the dinner menu, although a little limited has some delicious choices. The brick wall lent itself to the rustic feel as the place was well decorated for the theme. Highly recommended

New Favorite in Times Square Area
I usually avoid the Times Square area for dining, but I am already planning a return visit to La Pulperia. We had some of their delicious cocktails and an assortment of appetizers. Everything we drank/ate was tremendous. We especially loved the Fundito, Lobster Taquitos and Empanadas. The chocolate polenta dessert was awesome. The place is well managed with great service and attention to every detail. We'll be back.
7/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great addition to restaurant row.
I've enjoyed great food that has been consistent the three times I visited. The cerviche, humita and marguerita are to die for and I have been sampling the menu to discover what else this chef can do. Let your friendly waiter know that you are going to the theater and he will make sure that you make curtain. A gem!
7/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice staff, good food
Really nice staff, very attentive and friendly. Food is excellent, could just seem a bit spicy to some, but to me it is ok. Brunch time was very good and I'll come back to this restaurant very soon!
I loved the beef empanada!

Try something different and enjoy!
Our family (2 adults, 2 kids aged 11 and 9) really enjoyed our dinner. Our waiter was attentive and helpful--offering suggestions and explaining anything we didn't understand. We started with the Lobster tacos (delightful and spicy) and Humitas (delicious). The flash-fried Branzino was terrific, the meats on the Parrallada Argentina well chosen and tasty. I would have liked more vegetable/fruit options as everything came with green salad (fine for adults but a bit boring for the kids). My husband and I had a pitcher of sangria ($40) which was wonderful. The overall experience was wonderful. Our final bill was a bit pricey ($180).
7/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice Latin touch
excellent ceviche. We had the humitas, which turned out to be a wonderful dish of corn, served hummas-style, topped with very tender spare ribs. The corn/meat combo was served on a tamale wrapped, which was a nice touch. We ordered one entree and three appetizers and were very happy. Sorry I can't add any color to the entree list.

An excellent Latin American place
This is a great find in the theater district. The food is excellent and the night I was there, it was around the time of the Peruvian Independence Day and they had a special Peruvian menu which was very good indeed. Excellent ceviche with just the right amount of spice and great flavors. The seafood and rice main dish was very good indeed with the fish cooked to perfection which is very unusual as it is often cooked to a mush. The service was friendly and attentive and very efficient. I would strongly recommend this place pre-theater or at any time.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Pacu, who knew?
At waiter's recommendation had Pacu ribs, an incredible fish dish. Highly recommend for food and service.
8/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
latin american fusion
Great ambience, good music and perfect for dinner before Broadway show. Food was excellent and had good variety of the best of Latin American cuisine.
8/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Quite delicious & creative
I had the salmon brulee as an appetizer and thought it was very tasty. It was more of a combo of things; layered with a yummy creamy topping over salmon and then burnt on top like brulee. I would have enjoyed it more if it came with some toasts to spread it on. We then had the humitas which are excellent. After we ordered the fish ribs. This dish was very different from anything I had had before. The ribs are just slightly think fish bones so very easy to eat. The taste is nice and meaty without any overly fishy taste and the sauce is very good BBQ. Very convienent to the theater. The only thing is the menu is small and I thought $13 for guacamole was a bit steep since most of the prices are reasonable.

This was our second time eating
This was our second time eating there and the owner was SO happy to have us back - he was charming (even kissed me goodbye). He clearly takes such pride in their food and the service too - everything was delicious!!
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
After seeing a broadway show this place was just a few blocks away. We were properly greeted and the menu is not your ordinary latin menu. Its steps above any I have had. The food was delicious, the service was flawless. This will be the place I will make a ritual to return to each time I come to Manhattan. Its truly a restaurant that's all around great!

Great Latin American Cuisine
We came after a broadway show and had to catch a train in about an hour. The staff accomodated us to get us out on time, even squeezing in dessert. we were the only ones in the restaurant. The lobster taquitos were quite small. The Parilla Argentina was good and came with a lot of salad greens. the fish ribs were excellent according to my husband. I had the famous sangria braised ribs and the flavor was good but they were dry. my friend had the Humitas with short ribs. she preferred the seasoning on my short ribs. The Orange Flan was softer than usual, but the flavor was very good. Overall, the restaurant food was good, the ambience was fun with great Latin music playing, the service was quite attentive and the menu was very interesting.

Happened upon this restaurant through a google search... So many options in the theater district I feel lucky to have found it this way. Out of a list of 100 restaurants review and menu looked promising and they delivered and beyond. Charming and hospitable with amazing quality and preparation/presentation of food. I'd go back again and again, and suggest it to locals or visitors. Best wishes to your business. We will see you again!

A hidden treasure
Found this restaurant nestled along 46th...was a wonderful choice! Choosing to share a handful of dishes...the scallops were excellent and ceviche left us craving for more! If you like spicy, definitely try the El Chilango margarita - delicious!
9/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Will come back!
We started with the ceviche and the lobster tacos, both outstanding. The tacos could have been a bigger portion, left me wanting more. The sangria braised short ribs are spectacular and succulent. We also had the special Mezcal Chipolte infused ribs....wow!!!! The only thing that left me a little disappointed was the dessert menu, nothing really exciting. We decided to try the chocolate polenta, I think I'll skip this the next time. Otherwise two thumbs up!!
9/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were suspicious that the reviews were planted. Not so, the restaurant is a lot of fun with good food and attentive service.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Not a place to a"dine"!
The food was eclectic and very tasty but not many choices for a large plate.
The noise level was tumultuous and very packed and it was difficult to hear each
other. Although we were in a hurry to get to theater all the small plates ordered came
out together and the table could barely handle them.

Pre-Broadway Dining Experience
We arrived and were warmly greated as though the stars of the evening. The host took a few minutes to familiarize us with the restaurant, made suggestions and showed a genuine appreciation for us being there. Our waiter, Riccardo followed up with suggestions and explanations about their menu and wine list even giving us a mini-wine tasting. The appetizer we shared (CEVICHE MIXTO), a mixture of raw seafood was fresh and tasty. My main course (GNOCCHI DE RICOTTA) and my dates (PAPPARDELLE) suggested by the waiter were divine. Ending with two espressos, the host offered us an apertif of Zambuca to top off a perfect dining experience. My only lament was that it was over too soon . We should have stayed a bit longer and ordered dessert!

Pan Latino with flair
A good cross section of pan-latino inspired dishes with creative touches.
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
All the fish dishes and appetizers were excellent. Cerviche v. fresh and tasty, salmon brulee, lobster taquitos, excellent. Fish entrees good, not so hot on the sangria spare ribs. 2 of us ordered - one was very tender the other a little dry. It was good but not great. Cocktails yum and service excellent. Very homey and friendly. Closet to theater district.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were looking for a good restaurant that wasn't too far from our hotel and that would have place for a family of 5. The service lost one star because we'd asked for plain pasta for the kids and they served their regular dish (delicious) but too spicy for the kids and we had to turn it back. The guacamole was too salty but the taquitos and ceviche were fantastic. I recommend skipping on the jumbo shrimp cocktail (4) as they weren't quite jumbo and didn't seem all that fresh. I got sticker shock when I saw the price of shrimp ($5 for 1 additional shrimp).
10/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Charming Host, great new find
We will be back. Ceviche was more veggies than seafood though the taste was delicious. Ordered the ribeye for two. I have larger ribeyes served for one for half the price.

Amazing Food and Service
We had a small business dinner here and it was amazing. Staff was great at helping determine what to serve the table and how much food. Food was amazing - especially the seafood tower and short ribs. This will become a staple restaurant for me in the future.
10/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent drinks and service
I'll keep this short and sweet. We were very late having our party show up all a t the same time and they were extremely accommodating, well beyond what I expected for a Friday night.. The food was very good, the cocktails were awesome. Don't feel constrained by the cocktail menu. My wife got a regular margarita and it was one of the best I've had. Would definitely go again.

taste of South America
I was taking my wife out for her 60th BD and wanted to find something special. She likes surprises and is a real foodie so when I found this restaurant close to our Hotel in NYC I decided to try it out. It is a warm cosy place with friendly helpful staff and delicious dishes from Peru,Chile and Argentina. Everything was delicious and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a very memorable meal in the heart of the NYC theater district.

Theater District Find
Reservations required, for sure. Restaurant was over-full when we arrived for our reservation, so we had to wait and ultimately ended up seated at a table that I think they usually avoid seating people at because it requires servers coming out of the kitchen to squeeze by, BUT, the manager went to great lengths to make our meal enjoyable despite the inconvenience.
Lobster tacos are small but packed with flavor, the salmon brulee sounds odd but had all the elements of a great dish, nice wines, atmosphere (even in the back by the kitchen) is cozy. I'll add this to my list for next time I'm in the city and have already recommended it to a friend.

Good food, even better Drinks
Came here with a couple of friends and had the opportunity of trying 4 different dishes (since we like to share). Everything tasted fresh, the presentation on our dishes was crisp and clean. I wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger, but what can I do. The waiter recommended a drink called El Chilango, or something like that, and it was delicious. Our waiter was great! Will come back sometime for drinks.

Different on Restaurant Row
A pleasant addition to restaurant row! Good drinks, and mixture of spanish, Mexican, etc. dishes. Had queso fundido..could have had more of advertised chorizo, and Paparadelle with short ribs..delicious!
Nice atmosphere and good service..nice host!
11/19/2013 4:00:00 PM
well prepared, well presented. very accommodating staff. Space a little tight. like to go back and try some more dishes.

A Pan Latin gem in Restaurant Row
A standout in the mostly touristy spots on Restaurant Row. The fish ribs are outstanding but the menu needs more variety.
The inventive cocktails are worth trying. The wine list is a limited to the Malbecs and Chilean whites.

Can't wait to go back next time in town. Staff, Food, Service, Bar all great!

We try to get to La Pulperia
We try to get to La Pulperia whenever we are in Manhattan. The food is delicious! The fish ribs are really good & interesting. El Chilango is the best cocktail!! Victor is a gracious host & makes everyone feel special. Go there!!
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
We enjoyed dinner
Our reservation got mixed up but we were still seated promptly. Waiter was attentive, did all that a waiter is supposed to do.
Ambience -it is tastefully done but it is just average. Not much different than any of the other dozens of restaurants squeezed into a narrow space.
We had to ask for the fixed price pre theater menu even though we were very early. The fish ribs are unique & delicious, salmon VG but polenta bland. The flan was exceptionally creamy - we all loved it. Chef is willing to alter things as needed for special diets.
Especially with the fixed price pre theater menu it is an excellent value. Probably won't go back only because we like other places better, and we like to try new ones regularly.
