Not Pretentious, Just Tasty Food
A neighborhood-type spot with excellent, moderately-priced food. My entree and dessert were both notably delicious. The beer list is merely adequate, but that seems par for the course in SF. I have already recommended this place to others, and I'll make a point of going back next time I'm in the city.

The staff were very flexible in rearranging our table to accept a larger group than we had reserved for. Fortunately it was a slow Sunday night at the restaurant. The menu was a bit limited due to renovation going on, but enough choice for most. The veal was wonderful.

Fresh Creative California Cuisine
We love Globe Restaurant - the food always tastes freshly harvested and natural! Service is excellent and they have a great bartender.

We went to Globe before a nearby concert. The waiter was very accommodating in getting us out on time, and the food was delicious.

Great Time - Bring Your Earplugs
Good food and the service was way above average. We had to sit next to a group that had a "spokesperson" that obviously had never read about decibel levels in normal conversation. All in all, a great experience!

Small, simple, perfect.
The warm loft-like space - brick walls, high beamed ceiling - is inviting and lively with a middle aged crowd. Service is casual but attentive. Food is served from an open kitchen in the rear that glows from the wood fired rotisserie and grille. Dishes are Italian inspired - fresh and creative. We started with a perfectly balanced lardon salad, mixed greens with roasted beats and just the right crumbling of cheese. We followed with golden roasted chicken (a bit over salted) and grilled salmon tossed with a grassy kale salsa over fresh pasta.

Great experience before the play
The Globe is a small restaurant tucked away next to the Old Ship Saloon just off Battery Street. The exterior is a little bland, but walk inside and it's got a nice rustic feel, brick walls and a stack of wood for the wood-burning grill. I was there recently with Effie and some friends, and we all loved the atmosphere and the food. I had the rotisserie pork chop, which was moist and delicious. The accompanying potatoes and vegetables were superb. I was less fond of the tomato and corn soup, which I found rather bland. Their salad lardon is much better. Joel loved the king salmon and asparagus. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, good food and upscale dining without being off-putting. My new favorite restaurant.

Handy and tasty in FiDi
Hadn't been to Globe in a long time but it was near our event in the Financial Dist so we went early on a Tues . Had personal service from the bartender on wine selection and very attentive and friendly service from waitress.
Food was very good: eggplant & red pepper soup, lardon frisee salad, halibut with gnudi (fluffy gnocci) & squash/zuccini. My friend had the wild king salmon (cooked a bit more rare than ordered but tasty, noodles (slightly too al dente). Nice sourdough bread was plentiful for soaking up sauces.
The only gap was the wine list which we were told was in 'transition' under new mgmt. We got by w/ a bottle of cote de Roussillon but if the wine list isn't a big deal don't let that stop you from enjoying this bistro.

A small but good ambiance. Limited lunch menu but prepared very good.

Always try to tale at least one meal here. Tasty dishes in an urban chic hole-in-the wall. Waitstaff are friendly but also involved in keeping your drinks filled and the food coming. They know their menu and have reliable suggestions.

Good food and great service.
Good food and great service. However, we were the only patrons for lunch on a Monday. I recommend this place. Go.

This is my favorite restaurant
This is my favorite restaurant in the financial district. Unique menu, outstanding cuisine, unobtrusive staff & intimate. Only drawback is the noise level can be overpowering when crowded, especially when the music is cranked up much too loud.

The Salad Lardon is probably
The Salad Lardon is probably the best salad I have ever had. And the Halibut was really tasty. Friendly staff, good service. This place is known as a late night destination. Perfect for after a show or late night at the office.

I love this place. Just a block away from the office, mellow and small but also airy and inviting. The menu is simple - beets, salads, salmon entrees and fancy sandwiches - but they do everything well. And it's reasonable. Lunch for two usually hovers around $50 with tip. Which is just fine.
Not something you can do every day but a great spot to go on a business lunch or just to relax. Sitting outside in the sun can be great as well.

The Globe on a quiet night
Haven't been to the Globe for several years, but it was perfect for friends and conversation on a week night. Not too crowded - I remember it being packed - good food and perfect ambiance for conversation.

Nice lunch spot!
The Globe is a nice place for lunch in the San Francisco Financial district. The menu is not extensive but has some nice choices of fresh pasta, fish and salads. The prices are reasonable as well. Would recommend the Globe!

We went here for a business dinner. Really pleasant surprise. Food was awesome. Fun atmosphere. I will definitely be back for fun.

Haven't been to Globe in years but I'm glad it's still a pleaser. The food was simple and straight forward but still solid. A great place to come to after work for a date, or a quiet(er) dinner. Went here before our concert at America's Cup Pavilion. Our servers were great.

I have yet to have anything less than a stellar meal at Globe. It's a special place, and perfect for a quiet night, good cocktails, good conversation, and sublime food.

Loved being able to find a place like this late at night. The food was amazing, but it took forever to come out after we ordered it. Overall, very pleased and will come back.

My husband and I would come to this restaurant all the time after it opened. It was the perfect place to get a meal late at night (he's a chef) and the food was always terrific. We have since moved to NYC & I was back for a visit & organized a girls dinner. We went for dinner and it was just as terrific as I remember! Wish this was in NYC!!

Still a good one!
I had heard the restaurant wasn't what it used to be .... But not sure why. Our food was outstanding, service was polite and attentive...

We've been coming to Globe for the last 10 years and are never disappointed... I think that is enough said... but I can also add that seasonal pizza with oyster mushrooms was exceptional this time. thank you!

After all these years still a gem
We had not been here in years even though we'd always like this place. It did not disappoint & I look forward to our next visit. Trust me it will be soon!!!

Small selection, especially
Small selection, especially for vegetarians, but the quality of the food more than makes up for the lack of choices. It does tend to get a bit noisy later in the evening, so head to dinner early if you're looking for a more relaxed dining atmosphere.

Lovely menu, fish was excellent. Noise level makes conversations difficult

Don't miss GLOBE
First, I called minutes before my reservation to explain I would be about 15-20 min. delayed. They were perfectly nice and agreeable over the phone, not hassling me in the slightest.
We had a couple people check-in on us about any questions, or about ordering wine. They seemed just happy to have us there, and didn't "rush" us in the least.
My friend and I wanted to order a salad for each of us, and split an entree-- that didn't seem to bother them (sometimes places get snippy when you want to split a main dinner)-- the waiter even offered to have the chef split the item onto 2 plates, so we didn't have to hack into it and do something awkward at the table. That meant a lot.
The food, salad, and wine were all top notch.
